Welcome to the Amalfi villa of your dreams. With views of Capri, access to the sea, and air conditioning this is the dreamed experience.

Adjoining Villa Sole Sleeps 11 + 1. With advance planning these two apartments can host up to 18 people.

Location

South of Naples, the Massa Lubrense promontory forms the southern arm of the beautiful bay of Naples. Across the bay from Naples is the town of Sorrento. Between the two, along the bay, are the towns under the volcano Vesuvius that the ancient Romans chose for their vacation homes: Herculaneum, Pompeii, and Stabiae. Since the 1800s, Sorrento has been a vacation choice for the rich and famous. It sits on a cliff so there are few sandy beaches. Villa Mare is on the Massa Lubrense promontory. Breathtaking Mediterranean views encompass a prized perspective on the fabled Isle of Capri.

To arrive at Villa Mare, you drive 2.5 miles (4k) past Sorrento. It is 13 miles to Positano and 37 miles to Naples.

A curving road leads down from the Amalfi Coast road past a number of villas. Villa Sole is at the end of the road, as close to the sea as one can get here.

It is 80 steps down to the water where there is a sun bathing platform, toilet, shower and a ladder down into the clear, blue-green water.

There are sea walls to calm the waters close to shore and a jetty where you can bring in a boat. You may hire a boat to take you out on the water and to the islands of Capri and Ischia.

We really enjoy the short walk to Marina della Lobra along the sea-side path. It is the charming nearby fishing village with several casual restaurants and dock where you may rent boat service.

Exterior

Villa Mare has a large terrace overlooking the sea.

Villa Mare is one level above the street level where you may park one car.

Above and set back from Villa Mare is Sole, a six bedroom villa.

Interior

You can enter onto the terrace next to the villa entrance and immediately being to enjoy the spectacular view of the Mediterranean sea. On the left is a platform with the large outside dining table that seats eight. The terrace has areas that are open to the sun and others that have rush sun shades.

The living room furniture faces the television. There is a sofa and four arm chairs. The dining area is open to the living room. Cool white walls and chair covers offset pretty turquoise tile and mosaic floors.

The living room and the master bedroom are air-conditioned.

The kitchen continues with the same turquoise tiles as in the dining room. It has everything a cook needs with large (for Italy) refrigerator/freezer, microwave, four burner stove top and dishwasher.

There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

One set of linens is included in the price. Additional linen changes available for a fee.
