Tesoro offers a truly unique experience, an art lovers dream, nothing can prepare you for the exquisite murals that greet you! This beautifully curated, harmonious space also boasts a lovely internal facing terrace. The Tesoro apartment is a treasure of art and harmony in the historic center of Florence.

Location

The Santa Croce neighborhood is one of the most fascinating and historic in the center of Florence. Piazza Santa Croce is traffic free and hosts events of every kind, including the famous Calcio in Costume (soccer as it was played in ancient times - in medieval costumes). Surrounded by history, the neighborhood has many restaurants and markets.

Exterior

Located between Piazza Santa Croce and the river, this Renaissance palazzo is built in the style typical of the period. Grey pietra serena (serene stone) outlines the geometry of the facade. The building is beautifully maintained; it is clean and quiet.

Interior

Glowing with radiantly colored 15th century frescoes, the entry transports you into another time. You can enjoy these beautifully preserved murals up close from an antique settee. The artist in our family examined them with delight.

The spacious living room has a 20th century flair with a sofa, side chairs, chaise longue, a handsome antique sideboard, fireplace and many pieces of art. The exceptional aesthetics of the apartment evidence harmony and a spirit of beauty that can be appreciated at every turn. The fireplace is non-working.

A dining table seats four. You can also choose to dine on the terrace, a particular joy during warm weather. The terrace has a wrought iron table and chairs for four. It is right off the large kitchen where there is another table for casual meals. The kitchen is thoroughly modern and offers artistic elements to enjoy.

The terrace and living room overlook the inside of the block with its secluded gardens.

The study is another treasure with every wall and the ceiling covered with 18th century frescoes. Their beautiful clouds and cupids contrast with the vivid colors and themes of the entry frescoes. A leather sofa converts to a wide single bed. A flat-screen television receives local channels, a DVD player, and a stereo.

Tranquility suffuses the master bedroom with its warm yellow-gold walls and polished wood throughout. The decorating language is Japanese. A glass walled room forms a temple to the bath.

A sofa and large lounging pillows invite you to recharge in this magical room. The room faces the internal, quiet courtyard.
