Welcome to a beautiful and comfortable apartment that is a gem for its terrace, quality and location. Find yourself in the middle of Florentine history with all the famous sites within in walking distance. This classic Florentine palazzo built in 1733 faces Piazza Santa Trinita with the famous church by that name.

Location

The church is one of the most beautiful in Florence and famous frescoes by Ghirlandaio of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Nativity and the Madonna.

Via Tornabuoni, the traffic-free designer shopping street, leads into the famous Florentine sights and a block south is the beautiful Arno river. Across the piazza is Palazzo Salimbeni with its dramatic stories: first of the architecture derided at the time and later celebrated by the motto above the door by the architect Carpere promptius quam imitari, "Criticizing is easier than imitating". And then the symbol of the owner's family of three poppies and the motto Per non dormire. "By not sleeping." referring to the dramatic family story of an ancestor getting ahead of competitors in an important business transaction by inviting them to a dinner laced with opium from poppies.

Interior

Bright and comfortable with large windows in all the rooms, this apartment has the flavors of Italian style throughout. Fine antiques from noble owner's family are a delight. The living room has a great L-shaped sofa that also forms a queen sized sofa bed. The "great room" arrangement has the full kitchen along one wall with the dining table between that and the seating area.

The apartment shares a terrace with adjoining Matilde that overlooks the church. It is the perfect place to enjoy an espresso or a glass of wine. Enjoy marble and tiled floors and we especially like the traditional touches such as florentine-style painted decoration on interior doors.

The full kitchen has an induction stove top, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and the dishes, pots and pans for you to prepare your meals.

The master bedroom has a beautiful, large antique armoire.

The second bedroom's window overlooks via del Parione.

For larger groups we suggest renting the Lucrezia apartment in conjunction with the Matlide apartment across the hall.
