Elegant and spacious home in an area in the center of Rome known for fine, eclectic architecture featuring many palazzi of the Art Nouveau style.

This special neighborhood has many attractions. A five minute walk from the monumental Piazza del Popolo, this street is one block from one of the best shopping streets in Rome, Via Cola di Rienzo that also has cafes and restaurants along its length. The neighborhood was developed in the late 1800s and early 1900s with wide, tree-lined streets reminiscent of the boulevards of Paris. Romans and visitors appreciate the proximity to the popular historical center while being able to escape the crowds in the narrow streets. It is five minute walk to the Lepanto subway station.

Set back from the street and screened by a large tree, the building has only three apartments. The Elegante apartment is on the 2nd floor European designation (3rd floor North American); the elevator starts one floor up, approximately 20 steps up from the entry level.

Across the street is a hotel, a handy place to pick up tours and taxis, even breakfast in the hotel cafe that has a nice sidewalk presence in warm weather.

The building of the Elegante apartment was annexed to one of the prettiest Art Nouveau buildings 100 years ago, so from the living room and dining room you can see some nice architectural elements of that, original building.

The grand entrance shows many of the fine elements found throughout the apartment, beautiful floors, large windows, good light, fine art, elegant furniture and space.

The living room has two areas, a parlor-like entry with chairs, table and tall bureau with a hidden television and the second area has facing sofas and antique side-pieces. Two large windows overlook the neighboring garden. Looking up at the high ceilings, you find artistic plasterwork with many pretty discoveries.

The dining room, also bright from a large window, also has a beautiful, hand-blown Murano glass chandelier and lovely golden Chinese panel. The table seats eight. The apartment is furnished with china of a quality for entertaining.

Living room and dining room are air conditioned.

On the other side of the entrance is a hallway leading to the bedrooms.

Bedroom 1 is straight ahead with bathroom 1 across the hall from it. Turn right at bedroom 1 and find two more bedrooms on the left, both with two single beds that can be combined to form king sized beds.

Bedroom 1 has a balcony that overlooks the street, screened by a large tree, so you can`t really see the hotel across the street. To the right you can see some fine Art Nouveau palazzi. The king sized bed is a rarity in Italy. In the two additional bedrooms the two single beds can be combined to form a large bed that is almost the width of a king.

The largest bathroom is across the hall from bedroom 1, it has modern fixtures and a combination bathtub/shower. A little farther down the hall is bathroom 2.

In summary, 1 bedroom has a king sized beds, 2 bedrooms have two singles that may be combined to form, effectively a king sized bed. Two full bathrooms.

All bedrooms are air conditioned.
