The villa in Tuscany worked out really well.
A perfect medieval castle overlooks the hamlet "borgo" that has been turned into a vacation village with ten accommodations as well as a four room B&B. The views of the Chianti hills are open and lovely.
Between Siena and Arezzo, a little off the beaten track, the fairy tale castle of Bucine rises from the hills of Tuscany. The hamlet next to the castle has been transformed into a vacation village with luxury apartments and villas.
And all of Chianti and Tuscany lie beyond with so many fabled towns and villages to explore, you will be torn between enjoying your village or visiting new ones. You are, amazingly, a fifteen minute drive from the A1 highway that links Rome with Florence, but unless you know how to find this property, it is unlikely you will discover it. Arezzo, famous for its antiques market, charm, and medieval jousting is half an hour`s drive. Siena is a 45 minute drive, Florence an hour, and Rome`s airport about three hours. You can avoid driving into Florence by catching the local train that gets you right into the center of that city in an hour.
The restaurant that serves six days a week during mid and high season is a real bonus. Breakfast is included with the B&B rooms and is available to apartment and cottage residents for an extra charge. Dinner served five nights: M,T,Th,F,Sat. There is a small bar and local wine and olive oil are available for purchase. You may reserve cycling tours, mountain bike rentals, guided walks and treks, and private or group cooking lessons.
This lovely property has so much to offer to the vacationer whether a couple or an extended family. The variety of accommodations welcomes mixed groups and family reunions, too. Close to well-known towns like Arezzo and Siena, it also lets you wander solitary among the olive groves and ancient hills.
The property has 700 acres of woods, olive groves and vineyards to wander. An unrestored borgo used for farm purposes lies a hundred yards down the road and just beyond is a fishing lake. Fishing poles are available. The large, sunny swimming pool (26x66 feet or 8x20m) is almost competition size.
This apartment is on ground floor. Relax in the comfortable living room with satellite TV and in the adjoining dining area. There is a separate and well equipped kitchen with oven, gas stove top, and refrigerator freezer. The master bedroom with Queen sized bed has a large walk-in room wardrobe/dressing room and French doors to private terrace. Twin bedroom with two twin beds. There is Bathroom with shower. This house has two terraces and a private garden area.
The accommodations merit four stars, luxurious but not opulent. The restorations have been beautifully done, respecting the ancient architectural elements and providing wonderful views. The furnishings are of a high quality. The apartments have air conditioning in the bedrooms, external telephone lines, well-equipped kitchens, and satellite TV for English language news programs, placing these accommodations a cut above many.

Our Guest Reviews
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Colleen, my children and myself are all grateful for the advice and services you gave us in making our trip to the Chianti region of Tuscany so fun, easy and memorable. our stay at Bucine agriturismo was wonderful and all that we wanted, and more! The sisters Mariana & Antonia and the staff were so great, offering hospitality, tips and access to so many fun places and events. First, the 3 bedroom Limonia was perfect for us 5. The pool was big, clean and refreshing. Both breakfast and dinners were tasty and fun. Even loved the nearby town of Bucine and its market. Mariana set us up with 5 tickets to Arrezzo’s Friday night, pre joust neighborhood dinner. So fun and special to be able to get access to such a long standing, local event. Met so many nice Arrezzians. Thanks again for listening to us, interpreting what we wanted into the perfect stay. We would like to return again, while using you as our guide to the right place in the right location. Cannot wait!
We would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at your property! Clean, lovely staff, and a great center to enjoy hilltop towns close by in the region! Perfect way to share with friends! Having a kitchen and living room gave us the opportunity to share our day and plan for the next day’s adventure. We would definitely stay again! For me, this was one of my favorite parts and part of my bucket list. Beautiful property! Thank you for the grand hospitality!
We had a wonderful time at this property. Our family of six fit perfectly with the layout and amenities of Bucine Limonaia. Marianna was a wonderful host and the location was perfect for day trips in Tuscany. The atmosphere was very peaceful and rejuvenating while allowing easy access to sites in the area. We would have no hesitation staying here again during our next visit to the region. Great memories!
Perfect vacation spot
We have returned again and again to this very special destination, near the small town of Bucine. We had never stayed here in June and really enjoyed this time of year and the use of the wonderful pool and the surrounding gardens. Our accommodations were perfect, clean, orderly and very quiet and private as always. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, an easy drive to Florence, Arezzo, Siena, the Chianti Mountains and Montelchino, etc.
The small town of Bucine has a small but very good farmers market every Wednesday, they also have an excellent butcher who sends you home with some of his own homemade sausage as a little gift. The fruit/vegetable market next to him is also very good, and they are very friendly. There is an excellent laundry service right next to the COOP as you first enter the town, they wash, fold and iron your clothes, it is a wonderful service. We do not go to restaurants, but prefer to stay in and cook. We would definitely recommend to couples, families with small children, anyone, this very magical place.
Così bello e così tranquillo
After staying a week in Florence,we rented a car and drove to our villa Bucine Belvedere. Our intention was to use this location as our base as we explored surrounding Tuscan cities and villages. The location of the villa was a bit more remote than we had anticipated. After leaving the paved roads, you travel a gravel road in order to arrive at the villa. The surroundings were breathtaking. With the Appenine Mountains as a backdrop, you overlook lush vineyards and a fishing lake. When walking the paths, you are amazed by the awesomeness of the scenery and the eerie ( but welcomed) quietness of this spot. There are a number of old buildings left from the 1500 and a beautiful castle looming above the villa.
Our separate villa was charming, with a terrace overlooking plum trees, olive trees and a giant rosemary bush. The pool.a short walk away, was glistening and spotless. The inside of our villa was rustic and clean and very comfortable. The main building contained a bar area,a cozy and large living room and a kitchen and dining area if you wanted to have your meals there. Best of all were the people on the premises. The woman who cooked our meals did a great job and we enjoyed practicing our Italian as we conversed with her. The meals were amazing and so beautifully prepared.A young woman on the premises was very helpful in suggesting where to explore and how to get to our locations. There is a Coop close by so you can shop for what you need . On one of our return trips from Siena we came across a wonderful family restaurant, frequented by many locals called IL Bivacco. We went back several times and would highly recommend it. Wonderful food and authentic local atmosphere. We think that Bucine Belvedere was wonderful as was our treatment while we were there, The only drawback for some might be the remoteness of the location, but it's beauty and it's people transcends that only drawback. Again, thanks to Italy Perfect for the recommendation.
We would be very happy to go back.
I wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that our trip to Tuscany and Rome was wonderful. Your help and your website really made our trip run very smoothly. We found Bucine to be a wonderful, serene spot in the Tuscan hills and being off the beaten path only added to the magic. The accommodations were beautiful, clean and well tended. Dinner and breakfast were tasty. Antonella is personable, kind and attentive. Her suggestions for dinner and towns to explore were spot on. We would be very happy to go back. Thank you for connecting us with a special place.
Our favorite place
This is our fifth trip to Bucine and as always we were welcomed and treated royally. We come off season, so we were the only guests at this time, it was very quiet and private. The apartment we rented is for two people and is just perfect with a small fireplace, adequate kitchen with a stove and oven. It is very clean and very well maintained. The staff is always available if you have questions and they have good recommendations. There are many hiking trails if you like that sort of thing, and Florence is and Arezzo are a 30 minute drive away, Cortona is about 45 minutes away. I would recommend shopping in the small shops in downtown Bucine, you need to check the store hours, but they have an excellent meat market and fruit and vegetable market. The Coop store at the top of the hill is not that great. We will definitely return, hopefully next fall.
[We so appreciate your repeat business and your fondness for Bucine! The Italy Perfect Team]
We were very pleased with our accommodations
We were very pleased with our accommodations…great location for catching train to Florence and visiting the surrounding towns in Tuscany. I would definitely recommend to our traveling friends. We so enjoyed getting to know the owners!
Never having visited Italy or Tuscany before, the vast beauty was overwhelming. The remote nature of Tenuta Lupinari only enhanced that sense. The accomomdations were not only adequate but difficult to describe even with picture to our friends and family here in the U.S. We were treated with great respect by the stafff. We had several requests and they were attended to immediately and with gentleness and concern. It woud have been to our advantage to have used their restaurant facitlies more than we did. Going to other locations, for instance nearby Ambra opened up numerous excellent dining choices, but missing the special cooking at Lupinari is our loss. Next time! I have previously commented that by coming at the beginnin gof the low season meant that for four of our seven days we were the only guests. This allowed the staff more flexibiity but also left us isolated betweeen 9 pm and 9 am. Nothing like utter silence and darkness away from everything and everybody to spark one's imagination of 'creepy things in the night.' Our day trips to Montapulciano, Montalcino, Venice, Florence, Sienna and Orvieto were made with ease, especially from the Bucine Train Station.. (a ticket machine, no staff there, but many trains throughout the day to make it convenient.) There are two vineyards within a short and easy drive that we would highly recommend for atmosphere, wine tasting and local conversation--Fattoria Casabianca Agriturismo, Miglarina, and a third, Felsina. Il campo in Sienna is a surprise treat among the many delights of Tuscany. Thumbs up to Italy Perfect! Thx
The villa in Tuscany worked out really well.
The villa in Tuscany worked out really well. With 4 daughter, 2 older and 2 toddlers the larger accommodations were perfect. We really enjoyed exploring the Tuscan region. Each day was a new adventure as we drove our Ford van here and there seeing the sights. We originally thought that we would relax and spend more time at the villa but ended up putting over 500 miles on the van that week alone. No problems, but did lose our security deposit when my wife and daughter decided to blow-up the cooktop. Long story, quite funny really. Loved the location and surrounding area. May have been a little too remote for us. But having the car really helped. Most of the local restaurants were good and had friendly service. Each little town seemed to have its own specialties and it was fun to explore each to see the differences. We visited, Aretzo, Siena, San Giminagno, Mont Riggioni, the Chianti region, Montevarchi, and several others. (town names spelled to best of my memory) Tips: Recommend using a GPS unit when driving the area. Usually very accurate but at times put us into some strange situations that all turned out to be fun and exciting. Tip 2 don't cook on top of the glass cover of the range, that's not what it is there for. Thank you for all your help. We will not hesitate to recommend you to others.
