The apartment is beautiful, spacious and in the perfect location in Rome.
Overlooking the exclusive Hotel d`Inghilterra and on the corner of Via Condotti in Rome, the Valentina apartment is in the heart of all that is elegant in the Eternal City. A two minute walk puts you in front of the Spanish Steps, a location that is so popular because it is so central. Stroll for 15 minutes and you can find yourself at most of the noteworthy sites of historic Rome.
The location, in a "pedestrian only" area near the Spanish Steps, has to be one of the best in Rome.
The building mirrors the neighborhood, a proper "palazzo" built about 250 years ago when the Princes Torlonia were amassing their fortunes by managing the fortunes of the Vatican and build the palace across the street. The warm ochre of the Palazzo, enhanced by its white marble casements, dominates the near-view from two of the living room windows. The palace is subtly lit at night; it glows but doesn`t glare into the windows of the apartment.
Spacious and quiet elegance typify this fine apartment. Four large windows light the living room, two look up Via Condotti towards the Spanish Steps and two overlook Hotel d`Inghilterra and via Bocca di Leone.
At dusk almost every evening, a sole violinest played on the street corner below. His melodies wafted through the buildings making their way to my window above. I sat enjoying the scene below and was transported to another time.
Two white sofas are grouped by the working, gas fireplace that features stonework from the ancestral home in southern Italy. The hand-hewn ceiling beams have been exposed to display the room as it was originally designed. Also in the living room are some fine antique pieces, a sideboard, a desk, and a long dining table that will seat eight. The living room has a television with satellite reception. The apartment is wired for high-speed internet.
Next to the living room is a good-sized bedroom with a queen bed. The closet area is great for travelers with spaces for stowing your suitcases and open shelves and rods that keep your items in view. The closet leads to a bathroom with step-in shower that has a fixed shower head as well as hand-held shower. A single day bed in this bedroom for 7th guest. There is a day bed in this room that makes up to a standard sized single.
From the large entry, one can enter the living room or proceed down the hallway to laundry, kitchen, small bedroom and second large bedroom. The hallway has floor to ceiling French doors that open over a railing onto the internal courtyard. It is a great way of bringing in cooling breezes and the warm Roman weather.
The floors are tile throughout.
High ceilings, fabulous antiques, beautiful carpets, new bathrooms with a jetted tub and heated towel racks, a working gas fireplace to enjoy a glass of wine beside, large windows that open to the beautiful streets below, and very functional kitchen and laundry.
Off the hall is a nook that contains a washing machine across the hall from the well-lit, galley-style kitchen that has a four burner stove top, microwave oven, dishwasher, small refrigerator/freezer, toaster, Nespresso coffee maker, microwave, dishes, flatware, and pots and pans.
The next bedroom is the smallest, with just room for a single bed and an antique desk with a large antique mirror. The sixth sleeping place is perched high in this room, accessed by a ladder. The sleeping loft with safety rails has a French twin, i.e. large twin mattress. A little shelf for your book and glasses and a reading light are all you find up here. There is however, an air conditioning unit high in this room so it will be comfortable even during hot nights.
Directly across the hall is a bathroom with a small step in shower stall with telephone style shower head that can be used by the small bedroom occupants and also is easily accessed by guests.
The second large bedroom has two twin beds that can be made up together as a dual-king. There is also a day bed in this bedroom that can accommodate 1 person. A small balcony with planters opens onto the interior of the block with views of several nice terraces and well-gardened balconies. The dressing and closet area is well thought out for guests with space to stow luggage and open shelves and rods for clothing. The closet area leads to a bathroom with Jacuzzi tub with fixed shower head above it as well as a handheld shower.
For the 8th person a folding bed is available for a supplemental fee. Must be confirmed in advance.

- The owner has wonderful taste and has used this apartment and Renata next door to display art and antiques from her ancestral home.
- To give a sense of calm luxury, linens and upholstery are primarily crisp white.
- Particular attention has been paid to the needs of vacation guests so that there is a place for luggage and closets are open so things don`t get lost in drawers.
- All bathrooms are equipped with a fixed-head shower as well as a hand-held one.
- The location is terrific.
- The loft bed will probably appeal only to teenagers; you can`t stand up in the loft and you`ve got to clamber up on a ladder.
- Via Condotti is a pedestrian-only street, except for taxis, local deliveries and motorini (motor scooters) that seem to buzz around with impunity. In the warm months the murmur of the pedestrians can carry up to open living room windows.
- The master bedroom and small bedroom windows open onto the interior courtyard, quiet.
Our Guest Reviews
Ideal Flats for a Family Roman Adventure
My family and I spent a lovely 8 days in the Valentina and Renata apartments that form a huge living space for the 8 of us to enjoy. The apartments are comfortable, well appointed and HUGE for this area of Rome. We loved the cozy fireplaces in the living rooms as well as the 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. What an ideal setting for a family get together. Our host Marcella was delightful as was the greeter Edgard. We felt extremely welcome and cared for. The apartments are quiet even though we are just a block off the Via Condotti. You couldn’t ask for a better location to explore Rome from. There are numerous great restaurants in the area and most major sights are walkable. Italy Perfect has once again made our Rome stay memorable!
[Thank you so much Steve. You are always welcome to come again.]
A great trip to Rome!
Thank you so much for arranging such a great trip to Rome and the surrounding area. The apartment was beautiful, spacious, clean and perfectly located. Edgar was very helpful and a gentleman. The recommended drivers and tours were outstanding, especially our trip to Tuscany. Thank you to Maria as well! There is no question using your services made our trip to Italy perfect! Already recommended you. Looking forward to our next trip through Italy Perfect!
[We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again! The Italy Perfect Team]
Everyone we dealt with was very welcoming and helpful
We had a wonderful time staying at Valentina. The apartment was excellent (there were 8 of us - 5 adults and 3 children) Loads of space and very high quality and tasteful furnishings The location near the Spanish Steps was excellent, we were able to walk to where ever we chose to go Everyone we dealt with was very welcoming and helpful, giving us loads of useful information
Hopefully one day we will be able to return!
Everything was fantastic!
Pat thank you so much for all your help and for providing the most beautiful apartment for our trip. Everything was fantastic and exceeded our already high expectations! The location was fabulous and it was absolutely perfect for us in all respects.
The location of the apartment was ideal for walking to Rome's beautiful sites.
The location of the apartment was ideal for walking to Rome's beautiful sites. The decoration in the apartment was a bit much (not to my liking) and the kitchen was very small but we didn't use it anyway. The owner had a book regarding nearby restaurants and shops which was useful. I would say that the recommendation for Cafe Greco should have stated how expensive it was. I paid 14 euro for a cannoli and 9 euro for a cappuccino- outrageous so beware!
You also have to pay a personal tax for staying in Rome about 4 euro/day. The location was great and Rome was awesome. I would recommend Italy Perfect to friends.
[The Rome Hospitality Tax is currently €3.50/pp/day and this information was in all of the information before reserving and several reminders the guest received prior to her stay.]
We enjoyed the central yet quiet location of the apartment in Rome. Shops, restaurants, and public transportation (if needed) were all so close. Two of the three rooms/bathrooms were quite spacious as was the living room. We had ample storage and were able to settle in quite comfortably. The caretaker who is in the same building was very kind and spiffed up our apartment for us every day (thank you!).
Our only pointers would be that families with very young children or elderly guests be aware that there are mini single steps throughout the apartment that can pose quite a hazard (we had several trips on one in particular). Also, the third bedroom with the loft is suitable for an adolescent or preteen, but probably not someone much younger (the bathroom is across the hall, so not ideal for young ones who need to use one in the middle of the night) or older (quite small). The loft in that room is a good hangout space but not for sleeping (small and mattress is actually a bumpy cushion). The kitchen is great for snacks or a light breakfast, but cooking an actually meal in it (both in terms of size as well as appointments - very few dishes, refrigerator is a dorm-sized fridge) does not seem realistic.
We enjoyed our stay and appreciated being able to stay in accommodations that were more comfortable for a family than a cramped hotel room.
My family and I stayed (total of 6 people) for 5 nights in this beautiful and confortable apartment. It was a great idea instead of going to a typical hotel. The location is perfect: safe, nice, near many stores and restaurants, and at walking distance of almost all you would like to see in Rome.
Thanks Marcella & Edgard!
Renata and Valentina Units
For our group of ten we rented these two contiguous apartments and turned them into a single unit by unlocking the door between the to units. It worked perfectly well for our group's size and we could all fit around the dining table in Valentina. Everything was in good shape and the kitchens were sufficiently outfitted with the exception that they need to buy a few frying pans. Super location perfect for extended family groups.
This apartment was perfect! It was a lovely apartment, an ideal location, with a friendly host. We had plenty of room to spread out. (We were a group of 5 adults ranging in age from 21 to 80, with a group of friends staying on one of the other apts in the bldg.) The wifi in our apartment worked fine. Restaurant and grocery store recommendations were great. Advice: Book your site-seeing tickets early on-line or with the guide recommended thru Italy Perfect. The Vatican and the Borghese museum tickets sell out several weeks in advance .
LOVE LOVE Valentina
OMG, thank you for an amazing recommendation. We LOVE it here....the apartment is spectacular :-) Just a quick note to say that your company over delivered on this one!
