Bright and large in the heart of the Spanish Steps area
Classic Italian living in the finest neighborhood in Rome.
Via delle Carrozze (street of the carriages) leads right to the piazza in front of the Spanish Steps and is prized by Romans for fine shopping and dining. The neighborhood streets charm with restaurants, cafes and wonderful shops.
The building from the 1700s is well maintained. Shops on the ground floor and restaurants flank the building. Directly across the street are fashion shops.
On the 4rd floor, the apartment is high enough to enjoy natural sunlight. The fresh, clean and mostly white interior colors bring the light into the apartment.
In the spacious entry you are welcomed by a large, warm-toned original tapestry. An antique desk and several chairs provides a dedicated location to study guide books and catch up on email.
The living room beyond attracts with nicely displayed original, antique oil paintings. Two French doors with "Juliet" balconies overlook the internal courtyard and admit natural light. There view is unremarkable. Between the French doors is a flat-screen television with Italian-language channels. The fine, formal paintings overlook modern, comfy three-seat sofa and armchairs.
Against the wall is a glass-topped dining table with two chairs. To seat six, you need only to pull it away from the wall and gather the additional dining chairs placed around the room.
The kitchen is entered from the foyer. Modern, bright and well-equipped, it has gas stove top, oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment. An alcove off the kitchen has the washing machine.
Two short halls lead off the living room to the front bedrooms. One has a dual-king sized bed (can be separated into two single beds) and large closets, illuminated by a large crystal chandelier. The bedroom overlooks Via delle Carrozze, four floors below. Look to the left and you can see the top of the twin bell-towers of the Trinita dei Monti church at the top of the Spanish Steps. A bathroom with shower adjoins the bedroom, accessed off the short hallway.
The other short hall leads past a bathroom with shower to a bedroom with two single beds placed end to end, cleverly separated with a shelf unit. A closet is placed just inside the door. Window overlooks Via delle Carrozze.
The layout is good for privacy because each bedroom/bathroom pair is on its own separate hallway.
The back bedroom has a nice set of closets and shelves in its entry. The bed is double sized.
All three bedrooms have an en suite bathroom with shower, toilet, sink.

Our Guest Reviews
This is a fabulous apartment. The location in Rome cannot be beat. It is near where you want to be, and there are shops and restaurants literally steps out of the front door. The apartment itself is spacious and well decorated with all the amenities you could want. The fact that there are three bathrooms is amazing, and each bedroom is nicely decorated with a lot of room. You can't go wrong by picking this apartment!

Excellent Apartment and Location
Loved our stay at the Umberto apartment. This is the second time we're rented in Rome from Italy Perfect and we are totally delighted, again, with every aspect of our stay. The apartment photos and description are accurate and the location, near the Spanish Steps, is absolutely excellent! Thank you to Lisa at Italy Perfect for her responsiveness and thoroughness, it made our trip a breeze!
We loved it and had a great stay.
Umberto Apartment was Perfect for our Rome Stay
The Umberto apartment worked out beautifully for our Rome stay. It was exactly in the area we wanted to be - the prime Spanish Steps neighborhood. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and organized. Loved the fantastic selection of restaurants in the area. We had a private tour of the Vatican with your recommended tour guide who did a marvelous job and the driver you referred us to was prompt and polite. We would most definitely stay here again.
WE found the apartment to very nice. The greeter Danielle met us on time as requested and showed us the unit. We did not see or hear from Danielle again. We did decide to pay for a apartment cleaning service which we did not plan on. The unit was nice and suited 5 fine. The walls were a bit thin and you could hear others throughout the unit. The bathrooms and kitchen were small but suited our needs. The walkup was not a issue for us and I would not recommend using elevator. Quite small. The apartment is located is a great area with easy access to all major sites. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. Very safe area. Overall, it was a very nice apartment and I would rent it again while in Rome.
[Thank you so much for your review! Just a note the elevator is the type you find everywhere in Italy. These elevators were retrofitted into these pre-electricity buildings about a century ago and are usually small. The walls are the usual for apartments in Italy, not especially thin. Sorry if you could hear something. The Italy Perfect Team]
