Our very own ‘pied-a-terre’ in Rome
A bright and fully equipped modern apartment right in the heart of the most popular neighborhood in Rome.
The Sabini Sistina apartment is located on Via Capo le Case in Rome`s desirable Spanish Steps area, a neighborhood known for its old world charm, elegance and proximity to the sites. On the street and around the corner are some of Rome`s most elegant and expensive boutique hotels. The Sabini Sistina apartment is a great value in comparison.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sabini and strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants spacious, comfortable, clean and convenient place to stay in Rome. Service was excellent and we had no problems at all during our stay. The location is fantastic with major attractions is walking distance, along with abundant restaurants, gelato shops and stores..
Mention the street name, Capo le Case, to a Roman and you`ll get a nod of affirmation that this is indeed one of the finest streets of historic Rome. It offers an admirable location for exploring the Eternal City. Sightsee, museum-hop, dine, relax at one of the cafes on the block or walk the cities fascinating maze of streets with the Sabini apartment as your home away from home.
On the street are cafes, restaurants and shops. Within a two block walk is a good supermarket.
There are many interesting sights in this immediate area that are easy to visit, great for curiosity lovers. Please see the paragraph after the detailed apartment description below.
Just returned from a dream vacation to Rome. We had such an incredible apartment that suited all of our needs for our family of 5. The location couldn't be better. All the main attractions are within walking distance. The bus stop was 3 minutes away but we enjoyed walking to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Greggory's Jazz Bar, etc.
Sleek clean lines and complete amenities make this a comfortable and organized apartment. It has two rare features very hard to find in most Rome vacation apartments: a clothes dryer (in addition to a washer) and central air conditioning. Add to that a terrace for an exceptional apartment.
From the time you close the main door below, and the time you stepped inside Sabini Apartment ( one floor up)you feel secured and assured of a quiet and restful retreat. The apartment is well appointed.
Off the apartment entry foyer is an attractive and well-lit hallway. It`s a well-planned design that makes the most of the long corridor, with the bedrooms, bathrooms, terrace off to one side, railroad style. Proceed through into the sleek modern kitchen fitted within the corridor. It maximizes the use of space with a wall of mirrors to one side opposite the kitchen counter-top. The open plan kitchen leads to the living room, a good layout so families and friends can enjoy socializing between the living/dining area and the kitchen, which are all connected.
At the end of the corridor is the large and sunny living room/dining room. It has two windows that overlook the street below, the windows are large and fill the room with light. Italian-chic modern L-shaped sofa, a matching armchair and modern lamp make up the living room area which also features a flat-screen TV. The sofa converts to a comfortable queen size bed or 2 single beds. Everything is well organized and carefully thought out for guests` comfort, with minimal clutter and distractions.
The family room was great to unwind after a busy day and we enjoyed shopping and cooking meals.
The dining area is bright with a handsome table that seats 6. The same modern, monochromatic tone is carried through in this area, accented with a fine, beautifully framed antique painting on the wall. Italians have such a flair for mixing modern with traditional.
The electronics here are complete with two large plasma screen televisions with Satellite reception, iPod/iPhone dock, PS3 game console with some games, wifi as well as direct cable internet and a wifi printer.
A thoughtful set of Rome guidebooks has been provided for use by guests.
The kitchen is a model of precise planning and quality finishes. The shimmer of stainless steel countertops, neatly organized glassware and dishes are reflected in the wall-to-wall mirror on the opposite wall. It`s a clever use of the corridor that leads to the living room. The uncluttered harmony seen in the living room is carried through in a pleasing way here too. The kitchen has a 4-burner induction stove top, convection oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, drip and Italian coffee pots.
Backtracking down the corridor is the master bedroom, with ample closet space and a window out to the attractive terrace. The bedroom has a large queen sized bed (63x79", 160x200cm), another rarity in Italian vacation rental properties. The apartment is so well organized and functional, there is even a plasma screen TV in this bedroom as well.
There is a split bathroom off the corridor, just before the terrace. On one side is a small but standard European sized enclosed shower and sink. On the other side is a toilet, bidet and sink.
An important feature is that the bedrooms are positioned in the middle of the apartment, each with a window that opens to the terrace. Because they are not near the street, they offer a tranquility not possible with street-facing views.
In the middle of the apartment is a quiet internal terrace with a table and 3 chairs, a shady retreat for sipping your morning espresso or enjoying a glass of wine at night during hot summer weather.
The second bedroom, also off the corridor, by the entry foyer. It has a clever bed that can be a single bed, or through the magic of remarkable Italian furniture design, can covert to a bunk bed. If not in use, the single bed can also be converted to a sofa for reading and relaxing. It is in ingenious system that makes the most of the the compact space. En suite bathroom has a small enclosed shower, sink and toilet.
You should feel very comfortable renting from this company. I couldn't have had a better time in Rome. We will definitely stay at the Sabini apartment again if I am ever lucky enough to go back to Rome.
Neighborhood sights and curiosities. Wandering this neighborhood is fun for curiosity seekers, art lovers and people watchers. The "Monster House" at Via Gregoriana 28 has windows and doors that are the mouths of monsters! The Spanish Steps are a great place to linger, appreciate the little art scene at the top, sit on the steps and watch, literally, the world go by. This is "fashion central" for Rome so if you stay a while you will see celebrities (really), gorgeously fashionable people, stunning models and fashion victims of all kinds.
The opposite, it seems, is a reminder of mortality at the "Church of the Bones" right off Piazza Barberini where the bones of humble Capuchin monks have been used to decorate the chapels. In Piazza Barberini, find the celebrated Triton Fountain by the master sculptor Bernini and the small jewel of the Fountain of the Bees; the bee was the symbol of the Barberini family. Bernini lived in this neighborhood and the interesting little church Sant`Andrea delle Fratte holds two Angel sculptures by him that were considered too beautiful for their intended location on the Bridge of Angels in front of Castel Sant`Angelo. The church has further charms: a lovely cloister with orange trees, its own saint and its own miracle. Then, topping the church you see the exterior walls of the cupola designed by Bernini`s arch-rival Borromini in the baroque style in which the walls undulate like fabric. As you leave the church, look to the right down Via della Mercede to see a nice plaque to Bernini. Buy English-language newspapers from the news kiosk in front of the church.
Walk down via della Mercede to find Piazza di San Silvestro a welcoming outdoor "living room". Facing the piazza is a little church of San Silvestro that has the relic of the head of St. John the Baptist; wander into the courtyard for a few minutes to enjoy the collection of ancient Roman artifacts. Fun to watch wedding parties. English Mass on Sundays. Walk one block from Piazza di San Silvestro towards the Via del Corso you can enter the soaring interior of the Galleria Alberto Sordi, a shopping mall in Art Nouveau style built in 1914. Now, this is what a shopping mall should look like!
This lovely building faces Piazza Colonna, a monumental piazza that presents the marble column of Marcus Aurelius that has stood here since 193CE. This neighborhood allows you to experience some of the many fascinating layers of history and time that are typical of the Eternal City.
If you are looking for a deluxe home away from home, this is the place for you. A two-minute walk to the Spanish Steps and completely renovated in a contemporary style to a very high standard, it just doesn’t get any better than this. We had a wonderful stay here; the apartment is laid out beautifully, the beds extremely comfortable and the owner has ensured your every need is taken care of! There are plenty of maps, books, shopping and restaurant recommendations all within a 10-minute (walking) radius. We felt like locals with our very own ‘pied-a-terre’ in Rome and can’t wait to go back.

• Wonderful area, loads of charm and sites at your doorstep
• Thoughtfully designed. Clean, neat, modern and functional.
• Terrace is a nice bonus, shady too for cool in the summer.
• Has a clothes dryer, central A/C. If these are on your "must have" list, don`t hesitate, book this apartment.
• Living room gets some street noise when windows are open. Closed, excellent sound proofing. This is, after all, the center or Rome, a lively and bustling city. Bedrooms are very quiet.
• Showers are small, one more so than the other. They are standard European sizes that fit in small apartments in old buildings in ancient cities. Master bath setup is adequate but a bit awkward.
Our Guest Reviews
What a wonderful time we had at this beautiful apartment.
Stay here — you won’t be disappointed
We have been staying in various rentals of this type for 8 of the last 12 months. This one rates in the top three. It was well located, perfectly stocked, immaculate, included thoughtful touches (books, maps, coffee maker that was easy to use, user manuals for appliances, shelving in bathroom for personal items, etc.). Unlike many places, the seating was comfortable and all of the furnishings were comfortable and not third or fourth hand. The greeter was perfect in explaining everything about the apartment and cheerfully returned to help with a wifi problem. We loved your place and would recommend it. Thanks for the thoughtful touches throughout. We never review places we have stayed, it is our pleasure to do so this time.
Spacious and Centrally Located
Great apartment that fit our family of 5 very comfortably. Great location near the Spanish Steps, restaurants, park, and other attractions.
Sabini apartment in Rome
We had a wonderful experience while staying here- excellent service and beautiful apartment. Italy Perfect was highly organized and quickly responsive. The apartment was incredibly convenient location for traveling through the city with small children.
All in all a fantastic experience and we highly recommend!

Rome is a beautiful city and Sabini Sistina the perfect apartment where to stay!
As Americans, this was our first introduction to Italy and we could not have asked for a better city to visit and place to stay. The apartment is in a great location! We could walk to the Colosseum, the Spanish steps, and the Trevi fountain with ease! We loved to stay in the historical centre and being able to rest in an apartment recently renovated and stunning on the inside. The living room was spacious and comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen was equipped to fulfil all our cooking needs (and we even had a special separate wine fridge!). The air conditioning was wonderful especially since the weather outside was quite hot. Even though it was just my wife and I, between the living room and the two bedrooms we could easily fit four people comfortably…
Rome is a beautiful city and Sabini Sistina the perfect apartment where to stay!
Honestly, it is so rare to find such a high-spec apartment in the middle of Rome
Our stay in Rome was so wonderful!! The city’s vibe is unique and it was made all the better by the amazing Sabini Sistina apartment. Honestly, it is so rare to find such a high-spec apartment in the middle of Rome, with all of Rome’s major landmarks within walking distance. Not only that, but the apartment is somehow completely soundproof!! So while we felt we were so close to everything, we literally couldn’t hear any noise from the hustle bustle of the street outside – the perfect haven. It came well-equipped with washing-machine and dryer, which we made use of without any problems, and the kitchen came fully-equipped too. Would highly recommend!!
This was a very good place for my family of 5. The location was very close to the historic sites of central Rome. The unit itself, though not extremely spacious, had everything that we need. It was completely up to date and functional. I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Rome.

The place was amazing, It was so hot and the air conditioning worked great. We all slept very well. Used the cloths washer. Excellent location....so close to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Borghese and just a little further to the Ghetto. Would definitely use this place again.
[Thank you Eddie, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
I especially enjoyed perusing the provided set of Rome guidebooks with my morning espresso on the interior terrace.
Staying near the Spanish Steps, and coincidentally near many of Rome’s most famous attractions, was my best option for a brief visit to the capital city. However, I was greeted by far more than just a desirable neighborhood when I arrived at the Sabini Sistina apartment. Natural lighting, cozy but modern furniture, and a traditional Italian terrace provided the European elegance I love without the touristic hotel feel.
The simple pleasures of home, like a clothes washer and dryer, full kitchen, and luscious L-shaped sofa, truly made me feel like a local in a city that steals a bigger piece of my heart every time I visit. I especially enjoyed perusing the provided set of Rome guidebooks with my morning espresso on the interior terrace.
Our apartment seemed newly renovated , nice kitchen if you like to cook, washer and dryer came in handy, living room dining room were very spacious. Some things that surprised us.. the showers were small. We are very average size folks, not to big not to tall and we had difficulty with it. No shelf to place soap or shampoo and so small you needed to step out to dry yourself. One last thing that was frustrating is they has an American style coffee pot, but good luck finding filters.
We loved the location, close to all the great attractions and of course all the great shopping around the Spanish Steps. We also had two great restaurants directly across the street. Italy Perfect was very responsive to a call about the hot water and fixed a shower head quickly.
[Thank you so much for your kind review. Apologies for the showers that are standard sizes in Europe that fit in old buildings in an ancient city, as advised in advance. Also apologies for lack of coffee filters. The Italy Perfect Team]
