The apartment is lovely and in a great area.
Minerva's Treasure is a gracious and warmly welcoming apartment in the most exclusive neighborhood in the center of Rome, the Spanish Steps quarter. It is decorated with fine style, beautiful art and lovely marble floors.
Situated along the Tiber river in the Spanish Steps area, it is a 5-minute walk to Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso. There is much to see and do in the immediate neighborhood. Piazza del Popolo is the grand entrance to the neighborhood where you can linger to enjoy street life and open space that leads uphill through the Pincian gardens to the expansive Borghese Gardens. Enter the outwardly unremarkable Santa Maria del Popolo church next to the Roman gate to find a treasure of art: three Caravaggio paintings and more! Walk along Via di Ripetta/Via della Scrofa, window shopping at antique stores, enjoy a casual dinner at PizzaRé for authentic Neapolitan pizza, spend an hour at the Ara Pacis museum to take in the splendor of the “ Ara Pacis”, or Altar of Peace, a masterpiece built in 13 B.C. commemorating Emperor Augustus whose reign introduced two centuries of relative peace within the empire. A contrast of modern and ancient, the museum, designed by Richard Meier, opened in 2006 to much controversy about the modern style. A further contrast is the adjacent hulking ruin of the tomb of Augustus whose round, domed shape echoes the Pantheon and Castel Sant’Angelo. Stroll through the Mussolini-era arcade nearby with its imposing Fascist architecture, best known for Alfredo’s, where Fettucine Alfredo was invented, now revitalized to include many interesting and hip restaurants, such as Gusto, a food emporium with a restaurant, wine bar, pizzeria, and cafe. Find favorite restaurant La Campana along the route to the Pantheon area, then indulge in artisanal gelato at Giolitti, Grom or San Crispino.
Inspired by the beautiful art in the apartment, Minerva's Treasure is named after the Roman/Etruscan goddess of wisdom and sponsor of arts.
The fine building is characteristic of this part of Rome and is a coveted neighborhood prized for its great location, easy access to both sides of the Tiber river and convenience to the subway, taxi stand in Piazza del Popolo and many neighborhood restaurants and shops.
From a large entry, enter a bright living room that has seating for all with a sofa and two arm chairs. A crystal chandelier enhances the tasteful decor. A large window overlooks the tree-lined street that faces the Tiber river; there are no facing buildings so there is a lot of natural light. A narrow park dense with mulberry trees separates the street below from the river and the river road. Most of the year, the view is predominately the green of the trees.
The sofa can be made up as a double sized sofa bed.
The spacious entry in the center of the apartment serves double duty as a dining area with a drop-leaf table that opens up to seat four.
Very fine paintings and lovely decorative elements throughout.
The kitchen is small but efficient, everything is within arm's reach. A large window faces the back, overlooking the inner courtyard and buildings across the way. There is a full size refrigerator with separate freezer compartment, 4-burner gas stove, oven, dishwasher, double sink, drip coffee maker, microwave, pots, pans, dishes.
The master bedroom is compact with good closet space. The bed is double sized. The room is painted a rich warm red and has two sets of windows that face the center of the block, looking towards other buildings across the way. The bathroom, done in dramatic black, is en suite.
The second bedroom also has a double bed and a built-in closet. The window overlooks the street and Tiber river.
The beds, including the sofa bed, are 55" wide x 79" long. This is 1" wider than a North American double and 5" less than a queen. They are 4" longer than North American double bed.
The master bathroom is en suite with large enclosed shower, sink, toilet and bidet.
The second bathroom is accessed off the center foyer and has a shower, sink, toilet.
Both bathrooms are marble-tiled and are compact, cleverly designed to fit within the limited space.

Gracious and bright apartment with quality furnishings, interesting decorating and fine art.
High quality windows greatly reduces traffic noise from street below but some typical street and city noise reaches the front bedroom and living room.
Beds are slightly larger than North American doubles.
Our Guest Reviews
Perfect Stay in a Perfect Spanish Steps Area Location
We were so pleased with our choice of the Minerva's Treasure apartment. It looks exactly like the photos and our stay got off to a great start with sweet greeter Daniela welcoming us at the apartment, showing us how to use the appliances, explaining things and best of all with a bottle of wine, cookies, juice and a cold bottle of water in the fridge. Great way to start our stay!
It was hot in Rome and the A/C worked wonderfully well. Liked having two full bathrooms, they are not large but done in high quality marble, what more can you want when in the best part of the center of Rome! Kitchen was just perfect for us. Supermarket is a short walk & we enjoyed breakfast each morning in the apartment before heading out to explore Rome. Back bedroom is super quiet. Front bedroom and living room get traffic noise from street that parallels the river but Lisa had explained that so we knew to expect it.
Favorite neighborhood restaurants were Buca di Ripetta and and Pizza Re. Both just 2 blocks away.
Thank you Italy Perfect for a perfect stay in Rome!
Minerva's Treasure is Indeed a Treasure
This was our second stay at Minerva's Treasure. Love the location, we love to walk so we were up early each morning and walked 4 miles in the Borghese Gardens which is about a 5 minute walk from the apartment, before the heat of the day, such a wonderful way to experience Rome. Also like that there is a taxi stand in nearby Piazza del Popolo, so convenient. Living room is so elegant, and sofa long enough for good naps! [Thank you for your repeat business! The Italy Perfect Team]
Apartment has a good layout and it is in a quality, well maintained building. Also good water pressure in the showers, something that can be problematic in parts of Rome. Can't wait to return again. Grazie Pat, Lisa and Daniela for taking such good care of us!
Nice apartment in interesting location
Nice apartment with comfortable living areas located near the Piazza del Popolo.
The kitchen is small but fine, especially if you are not going to cook. Only a mokka, a traditional Italian coffee maker.
The bedrooms were fine but not really enough places for luggage, so i used the living room area to open my bags. Closets were fine with enough hangers, etc.
Could use another lamp in the front bedroom.
The air conditioning worked very well and were in each room. Great to have!
The Bathrooms were very well designed for the small area they had to use. Everything was on the small side especially the shower but really fine.
Easy to access the inside courtyard, used for parking their cars, but it was rather dark outside street entrance at night. Best to take a taxi home at late night if you are a single on your own.
The apartment had maps for our use and some info on nearby restaurants which is very helpful for first time visitors in this area of Rome.
[Thank you so much for your kind review, Jeanne. We are happy you enjoyed the apartment and location. It is a traditional city apartment so compact in size as you mostly find in Rome. There is an American drip coffee maker, sorry you overlooked it.]
Schönes Appartement und nette, sehr hilfreiche Unterstützung von Gastgeberin Daniela.
Nice apartment and nice, very helpful support from hostess Daniela.
We stayed at Minerva's Treasure Apartment. The location is ideal. Easy to walk to the Spanish Steps and surrounding area. The CASA restaurant just a few steps away from the apartment is delightful - simple surroundings but delicious food. The apartment was spacious but it lacked some of the features I have seen in Paris Perfect apartments. The linens and towels were very poor quality and there were no extras. The greeter was helpful but all the information was a bit overwhelming given the jet lag. The driver Rocco was reliable and pleasant. I would recommend this apartment and the Italy Perfect team. Great trip. Thank you.
[Thank you Martha, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay and will look into replacing the towels. The Italy Perfect Team]
Every step of the way working with Italy Perfect was indeed PERFECT.
I just returned from spending a month at MINERVA’S TREASURE in Rome, Italy. Every step of the way working with Italy Perfect was indeed PERFECT. The moment I arrived I was met by the most amazing greeter Daniela who walked me through everything I needed to know about the unit and the area. She was patient and took her time answering any questions I had. The apartment was spotless and beautifully decorated. The bed/mattress was extremely comfortable. The restaurants Daniela recommended were all superb. Casa Restaurant was steps away and so so delicious but just a few blocks away were other amazing eateries and shops. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils that I needed to prepare some delicious meals for myself during my stay. The location was perfect in every way. I walked everywhere. What a plus having a washer/dryer in the apartment. Rare in Italy. The Wifi was excellent so I was able to respond to work daily. I highly recommend using Italy Perfect as your vacation rental experts. I also have used Paris Perfect in the past. Two well run companies.
[Thank you Carol, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
Great apartment in a great area!
Perfect spot for our family for a week in Rome! We were met at the apartment by Daniela and she was extremely helpful with information about the apartment and the area, Everything was very clean and the apartment was well appointed. Perfect spot to return to after sightseeing in the area. Best part was a great restaurant called Casa just right outside the door. Highly recommend it if you stay at this spot.
My mother liked the Minerva Treasure's very much.
We liked this apartment very much. The location is excellent. The furniture and apartment, in general, exceeded photos.
[Thank you so much. The Italy Perfect Team]
