Highly recommend and/or revisit
Music drifts across the way from Italy`s master music academy to this regency style apartment with fine antiques, silk upholstery and room to enjoy this elegant neighborhood in the heart of Rome.
Via dei Greci is one of the many interesting streets in the Spanish Steps area of Rome. Closed to traffic, it is knownfor he world-famous National Academy of Music of Santa Cecilia and Saint Anastasious Greek Catholic church and college. You can enjoy concerts at the academy, check the calendar on the linked page. It is a two minute walk to the very central Spanish Steps Piazza.
Five buildings that date from the 1600s surround a large, quiet courtyard. You`ll come and go through the small door in the carriage gate, but no carriages these days. In fact, no cars or motorcycles in the courtyard, either, just tenants that include a custom violin maker`s shop. Peek in the window to see his wares. A doorman adds a layer of safety.
The courtyard is a quiet oasis in a busy city. It has plantings and many apartment balconies have flowers.
The apartment is on the fourth floor (third, European designation). There is an elevator all the way. There are four or five steps to negotiate as you make your way from street level, across the courtyard and to the elevator.
From the spacious foyer you enter the dining room and then the light-filled living room that has three large windows. One window looks towards the Greek church and the architecture of the dome and the church are pleasant to behold.
The living room has a sofa, two love seats and two unusual sleigh-type chairs as well as a number of large antiques and attractive paintings. The room is large, about 350 square feet.
The dining room is also spacious with side boards and French doors that open onto an internal balcony that is shared with the kitchen. The balcony and French doors that access it bring in good light and really pleasant views of iconic ochre colored Roman buildings.
Fresh with white cabinetry, the kitchen has all appliances including a large refrigerator/freezer and a breakfast bar.
This apartment is very close to the Spagna apartment, so, between them, a group of nine is accommodated.
The master bedroom is old-fashioned with a beautiful brass bedstead and lace coverlet. The color theme is green. You`ll find some nice antique pieces here. The master bedroom overlooks Via dei Greci as well, and has French doors onto a private balcony where you can enjoy your breakfast. Across the street is the Academy of Santa Cecilia, Italy`s national music academy and you may occasionally hear the strains of the master`s level music students practicing.
At the end of the entry hall is the twin bedroom with 2 single beds and a window onto Via dei Greci. The room is large and comfortable and has a pretty antique secretary as well as a bureau. The single beds can be prepared together with advance arrangement.
There are two bathrooms. The master bath is accessed off the corridor then there are four steps up to the master bedroom level. The second bathroom is off the second bedroom.

The apartment is lovely, large and welcoming.
The location is terrific, right near the Spanish Steps but on a quiet side-street.
Via dei Greci is a quiet, pedestrian-only street, except for taxis, local deliveries and motorini (motor scooters) that seem to buzz around with impunity.
Living room is formal.
Our Guest Reviews
At Home in Rome
We spent 2 weeks in Greci on via dei Greci. The apartment is just like moving into a home. The furnishings are lovely, just what you would expect a Roman family apartment to look like. The apartment is situated half way between via del Corso and via Balbuino in the center of Rome's tourist area. Yet while there were crowds on Corso and Balbuino, via dei Greci was as quiet as being in the country-or almost, because it is located across the street from Rome's premier musical academy-the Academy Santa Cecilia. At times we could hear the students practising.I especially liked the pianist working to perfect Mozart's C major piano sonata and the string ensemble playing Schubert's Ave Maria. A wonderful unexpected treat. The kitchen is as well equipped as our kitchen at home (we have a cook's kitchen.) Typically, we cooked in one meal a day either lunch or dinner. We loved shopping for food in the Campo di Fiori but there are shops closer by including an organic market on via Vittoria, one block from the market and near our favorite cafe where we had coffee most mornings. Everything worked. Having the washer was great for the first part of a month's stay in Europe. The air conditioning cooled the apartment perfectly when needed.
The apartment is convenient to metro stops at Spagna and Flammino. It is a short walk to Villa Borghese, to the Piazza Venezia and the Forum.
We have spent a lot of time in Rome over the years. Our greeter was perfect (pun intended). She was at the apartment when we arrived and showed us how everything worked. She arranged a car to the airport on our departure day. This was our best stay ever. We will certainly stay in Greci again.
[Thank you so much Ken, we are delighted you enjoyed the location and staying in Greci! We hope to welcome you again soon. The Italy Perfect Team]
Roma - The beautiful
Our family had a great stay on our first time in Rome, thanks in great part to the lux and modern accommodations we experienced at the Greci apartment. Every morning we were greeted by soft piano music which came from the Santa Cecilia and every hour a gentle bell from the church next door would remind us of the passage of time. When you step outside you are surrounded by numerous churches, shops, restaurants. You cannot ask for more, in our humble opinion. Fresh groceries and flowers are near by and gelato that will spoil you for life are a must. Rome is a city that invites you to walk its stone streets, yet taxis are near by to take you if you need it. Our apartment was a wonderful quiet retreat from the busy streets. You can even enjoy a movie with the family in Italian (or English if you prefer) from the comfort of your couch. A very efficient and sturdy lift which hold a max of three people will take you to the 4th floor ( 3rd floor by Italian measures). Also, we strongly recommend the Rocco taxi transport which was very punctual and offered competitive rates. We will recommend Italy Perfect to our friends and family as we know they made the difference in our first vacation to Rome!!

Our stay at Greci was fabulous!
Just a quick note to say that our stay at Greci was fabulous! Lisa's advice before we arrived and Beatrice support while we were there helped to make it a memorable vacation spot for the Sterns. With the exception of a drum lesson, we enjoyed hearing music all day and the apartment's location allowed us to walk everywhere. Perfect weather didn't hurt it a bit either. Our heartfelt thanks to you both!
Nice clean apartment on quiet street. Great location.
Our stay was wonderful. The apartment was in the heart of Rome . All the major tourist attractions were a very short taxi ride away. The neighborhood was clean and vibrant. Caesar tomb , The Spanish Steps and Piazza Del Popolo 3 blocks away. The apartment was huge and well maintained. Our host was available when needed. Highly recommend this location.

great location, quiet apartment in Rome
Visiting Rome over Easter Week was a wonderful experience. The Greci apartment was a perfect fit for my husband and I along with my daughter and son-in-law. The baths were wonderfully clean and offered the privacy we needed. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with dishes and anything needed to make a home cooked Roman meal a reality. We were within walking distance of the Vatican, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Del Poppolo. There is a very well stocked grocer one block away.
This was really a beautiful Roman holiday. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Thanks to Italy Perfect.

Our Italy Perfect Rental....The Greci.....was PERFECT.
The apartment is located in a great neighbourhood and was very clean and comfortable for our family. It really felt like a home away from home.
Our greeter was very kind and helpful and was waiting for us as soon as we arrived.
We had plenty of everything we needed, from blowdryers to WIFI and plenty adapters for our phones and ipads.
We will definitely stay here again.
Thank you for sharing your apartment.
A fabulous apartment
The owners are extremely gracious in their welcome and very helpful in all respects. We arrived to find water, juice, crackers and some fresh fruit to get us through the initial settling in process. The apartment is decorated to be stylish and welcoming all at the same time. To give a sense of calm luxury, linens and upholstery are primarily crisp white.
The two bathrooms are equipped with a fixed-head shower as well as a hand-held one.
Both bedrooms have great air conditioning units. The apartment has a small kitchen, but truly well stocked for all your needs. We also a washing machine and a drying rack accessible to us.
The location is terrific. The owners have provided a list of restos and supermarkets in the neighbourhood. We can't wait to come back!

We absolutely loved it.
We absolutely loved it. Particularly the Brahms Tchaikovsky Mozart wafting through the open windows. The quietude of this oasis in contrast to our beloved frenetic Roma was blissful. We loved the space and facilities. We had great help from Giacomo [greeter] and nothing was a problem. The place was cleaned by a lovely cleaning lady each week.
The air conditioning wasn't needed at that time. But closing the windows at night was necessary because of potential street noise.
Everything in the kitchen worked well. Enough of every thing.
Shower in second bedroom is made for Italian sized men.
We had a nice stay in Rome. I had forgotten until we got there that we had rented that apartment in 2008; looked very familiar when we arrived. I just want to tell you how much we are so impressed and appreciate
Stefano. What a wonderful person he is. He picked up our daughter and family late afternoon yesterday and drove them to Tuscany on short notice. Then their bags did not arrive on time and he went to the airport today and then drove them to Us in Tuscany. I simply cannot say enough good things about him and how helpful he is.
