What a wonderful apartment, very spacious and bright.
Sunny mornings and afternoons in the high and bright Ginevra apartment in the heart of the desirable Spanish Steps neighborhood. Three balconies across the front of this apartment welcome you to enjoy the sun, the stars and the delightful neighborhood.
Right in the heart of the Spanish Steps neighborhood, a 3 minute walk to the famous Piazza di Spagna, 6 minutes to the Trevi fountain, easy walking all over the city. The street has shops to enjoy and several restaurants. Also, being in the area at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, no hills all the way to the Tiber river. This area is one of the most requested locations by visitors to Rome. You`ll enjoy the many pleasures the city has to offer: wonderful sightseeing, excellent restaurants, and a nice apartment in a wonderful location.
There are many interesting sights in this immediate area that are easy to visit, great for curiosity lovers. Please see the paragraph after the detailed apartment description below. For larger groups the Ginevra apartment can be rented in conjunction with the Princess Paolina on the same block, just a 1 minute walk.
Handsome building from the 1700's. The apartment is located on the 5th of 7 floors, high above the street. There are 13 steps from the street level to the elevator.
Sunlight in the mornings and evenings fill the apartment. The front rooms have three balconies overlooking the street. A bistro table and chairs invite you to enjoy coffee or cocktails in this very Roman of locations.
The living and dining room area has a special style with a three cushion sofa, an arm chair and unique, original lamps by an Italian artist with a bronze giraffe and palm-frond fan shaped lamp shades for an whimsical flair.
The glass dining table seats six. An antique bureau and an antique desk hold dishes and serving items. Appreciate the harmony that Italians can bring to decorating pieces from different times and places.
Passing through the entry area you find a antique credenza and mirror, underneath two original Roman amphorae found in the Mediterranean.
The pleasant, small kitchen is filled with light from large windows that look across the courtyard and roofs. It has some nice touches with a washing machine, dishwasher, under counter refrigerator and microwave. There is a pantry behind the kitchen in the little hall that leads to the full bathroom as well as a broom closet.
Opening the balcony doors and the kitchen windows allows air to flow through the apartment, so nice in the warm months.
Neighborhood sights and curiosities. Wandering this neighborhood is fun for curiosity seekers, art lovers and people watchers. The "Monster House" at Via Gregoriana 28 has windows and doors that are the mouths of monsters! The Spanish Steps are a great place to linger, appreciate the little art scene at the top, sit on the steps and watch, literally, the world go by. This is "fashion central" for Rome so if you stay a while you will see celebrities (really), gorgeously fashionable people, stunning models and fashion victims of all kinds. The opposite, it seems, is a reminder of mortality at the "Church of the Bones" right off Piazza Barberini where the bones of humble Capuchin monks have been used to decorate the chapels. In Piazza Barberini, find the celebrated Triton Fountain by the master sculptor Bernini and the small jewel of the Fountain of the Bees also by Bernini; the bee was the symbol of the Barberini family. Bernini lived in this neighborhood and the interesting little church of Sant`Andrea delle Fratte holds two Angel sculptures by him that were considered too beautiful for their intended location on the Bridge of Angels in front of Castel Sant`Angelo. The church has further charms: a lovely cloister with orange trees, its own saint and its own miracle. Then, topping the church, you see the exterior walls of the cupola designed by Bernini`s arch-rival Borromini in the baroque style in which the walls undulate like fabric. As you leave the church, look to the right down Via della Mercede to see a nice plaque to Bernini. Buy English-language newspapers from the news kiosk in front of the church. Walk down via della Mercede to find Piazza di San Silvestro a welcoming outdoor "living room". Facing the piazza is the little church of San Silvestro that has the relic of the head of St. John the Baptist; wander into the courtyard for a few minutes to enjoy the collection of ancient Roman artifacts. Fun to watch wedding parties. English Mass on Sundays. Walk one block from Piazza di San Silvestro towards the Via del Corso you can enter the soaring interior of the Galleria Alberto Sordi, a shopping mall in Art Nouveau style built in 1914. Now, this is what a shopping mall should look like! This lovely building faces Piazza Colonna, a monumental piazza that presents the marble column of Marcus Aurelius that has stood here since 193CE. This neighborhood allows you to experience some of the many fascinating layers of history and time that are typical of the Eternal City.
Adjoining the living room is a study/bedroom that serves both functions well with a queen sized bed, ample closets and a well-lit desk. This room has one of the three balconies. The bed is 140 cm x 200 cm (55" x 79"). The room is open to the living room, it does not have it's own A/C unit, but shares the air conditioner that serves both living room and study/bedroom. Because the front bedroom does not get direct air conditioning it might not be cool enough for some guests.
The master bedroom faces the internal courtyard so quiet for those who are unused to city sleeping. It is small and has clothing hook system on the wall behind the door. If you are traveling light, the rack behind the door plus the antique 4-drawer bureau may be adequate for your clothing. Additional closet space is in the front study/bedroom. The bed is 148 cm x 200 cm (58" x 79"). It has a standalone A/C unit that is vented through the window, not attractive but effective.
Directly across from the half bath is a room with a double sized sofa bed. A set of windows facing the inner courtyard. This internal facing room does not get direct sun and has a fan since it does not have air conditioning. It will stay somewhat naturally cool in summer, but during the hottest months the lack of A/C will be a drawback for anyone sleeping in this room.
The full bath has a large tub with a shower, toilet, bidet, sink.
Just past the master bedroom is a half bath with a sink and toilet.

Our Guest Reviews
Lovely apartment near the Spanish Steps
This apartment had wonderful light, was fully equipped, and was in a wonderful location. We enjoyed coffee on the little balcony and having two baths was a plus. Everything you would need is nearby: pharmacy, money exchange, markets, restaurants and bars.
The only down side was that the shower did not work properly or else we were not able to get it to work properly. We did get an excellent orientation from Daniela.
Italy Perfect was easy and helpful to deal with. I would rent this apartment again.
[Thank you very much for your review and for enjoying the apartment and that great neighborhood. We’ll check the shower, for sure. The Italy Perfect Team]
Amazing location - Best greeter ever!
The apartment was beautiful. The location was perfect.
Daniela the greeter, was super sweet and helpful. I will book the same apartment for my next trip to Rome just because of her.
I would highly recommend Italy perfect.

Home away from Home
Great location....don’t plan to use the kitchen for much cooking and the washing machine is tiny. It is a very comfortable apartment. Location was fabulous as you could walk anywhere you wanted to in a very short time......love, love Rome. Some drawbacks are the hand held only shower in the master and one of the bedrooms is on the street so can be a bit noisy. The other thing to note is no closets in the back bedroom and no door on the front bedroom for which we were prepared.
Italy Perfect gives you all of this information and will find the perfect place for you and your guests. Pat knows Rome and is a great resource!
[Thank you so much, Ed. So glad you appreciated the comfort, charm and location on balance to the apartment quirks. The Italy Perfect Team]
Perfect location, great apartment
The location is amazing! Close to everything and yet amazingly quiet at night. It is a lovely bright and airy apartment. Daniella was wonderful, helpful and efficient. The only negative was the shower which would be easier to use if you could hang the shower arm/head from something! We had a great tour of the Vatican and St. Peters with our guide Cristina (recommended by Italy Perfect) who was incredibly knowledgeable and able to keep us all engaged for several hours and avoided many long queues.
[Thank you Arabella, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
Wonderful Location by the Spanish Steps
We had a wonderful stay at the Ginevra apartment which was situated very close to the Spanish Steps. Key attributes: nice sized apartment, washer which helps with hot days in Italy, air conditioning for peaceful nights, low noise level.
Used Viator for private / small group tours which were well worth the money. And had an amazing day of Italian Cooking through Fabiolous Cooking Day.
Daniela is extremely helpful. Thank you for making our stay in Italy so enjoyable.
[Thank you Beth, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. The Italy Perfect Team]
Amazing experience, just steps from everything!
Wow...your private balcony in the middle of Rome...your fresh expresso every day..a library for you..a very nice view...restaurants just steps away...what else do you need? beautifully decorated and what's most important, you have Daniela to help you with...almost everything...Thank you, Daniela! Such a wonderful experience while in Rome...

Nice beautiful apartment to stay in Rome
We (family of 4 adults) stayed in Rome for Christmas and chose this apartment as our base. It was a first time in Italy and the first time we used vacation rental, so we were a little nervous how it was going to work out. We made a right choice! Apartment is beautiful, clean, spacious. It has 2 bedrooms with queens size beds, a guest room/study with sofa-queen bed (my son used this room because it has a separate TV set), 1 1/2 bathroom and a small kitchen that had everything you need. A living room has two sofas, a big dining table, TV set and nicely decorated. 3 small balconies are cute with outdoor seatings. TV set has a lot of programs including English and even several Russian channels for my mom. Wi-fi is pretty fast. Location is fantastic: Spanish steps right around a corner, many restaurants and supermarket within a block, a shopping area nearby. A subway is a short walk.
Our hostess Daniela was super nice, she showed us all apartment amenities and features, walked us to the supermarket to buy groceries and was very helpful answering all our questions.
The only tiny issue was low pressure in a shower, but not a big deal. Highly recommend to choose this place!
Spanish Steps Apartment
Daniela was a wonderful greeter, even though our flights were late and so were we! This apartment was super clean and pretty spacious. Loved the tiny balcony for coffee or wine and contemplation. We cooked dinner a few times in the small kitchen. Living room/dining room is very spacious. The surrounding area is unbeatable. Beautiful streets off the Spanish Steps, with tons of restaurants, several small convenience groceries and close to many, many of Rome's best sightseeing. The amazing thing was it did not seem a crowded area as it was just a few blocks from the historic steps.
Do not rent this apartment if you want a shower-- and Italy Perfect makes this clear in the description. The second half-bath is tiny but convenient if there is more than one couple or family renting.
Italy Perfect is extremely trustworthy with explanations of the apartment amenities with American tastes and expectations in mind.

The property was clean and spacious.
Once again I had a wonderful stay at the above property. It was perfect for two females travelling together. Our greater was Daniela who was there when we arrived and showed us the apartment. There was a problem with the TV in the living room, she called the owner and they came right away and the problem was fixed. The property was clean and spacious.
There was a coffee shop on the corner where we had pastry and coffee every morning. By the end of the week they were like family. The restaurant across the street from the apartment was wonderful. It rained several days and we ran over to have lunch one day and dinner one day. The name is Osteria della Vite...great food, great wine and GREAT service.
We enjoyed the apartment (as I said it was perfect) the area (it was one block from the Spanish Steps) and the whole experience. Thank you "Italy Perfect"
A Special Place
This was the first apartment my family had ever rented and it did not disappoint! Not only was it situated in the very best location for touring the city, the space with clean, inviting and perfectly suited for our stay. The greeter met us right when we got there and was friendly and knowledgable. After explaining the apartment he sat down and offered some local knowledge to make our stay even better! I would stay in this apartment again in a heartbeat! As well as use Italy Perfect on other stays!
