Wonderful roof top terrace.
Elegance, taste, amenities and views abound in this five star apartment that is a two minute walk to the Spanish Steps.
We have to use superlatives when it comes to the lovely Angelina apartment. The roof top terrace and balcony allow you to enjoy the timeless views of the Eternal City. Everything has been considered for lifetime memories of Rome.
The Spanish Steps location is so popular because it is very central. The graceful steps and the piazza are beautiful albeit usually bustling with visitors. From this location many of the important sites of Rome are within a 15 minute walking radius. Fine shops and restaurants abound in this district. Transportation is also easy from this home base. This street is closed to all but essential traffic; add the top floor location and street noise is not an issue.
The location is excellent, we used the market down the street several times and we enjoyed our morning cappuccio at the cafe two doors down.
There are many interesting sights in this immediate area that are easy to visit, great for curiosity lovers. Please see the paragraph after the detailed apartment description below.
The handsome marble-lined lobby leads right to a modern elevator that takes you to the top floor. There are no steps to get to the elevator or to the apartment. There is, however, a spiral staircase leading to the rooftop terrace.
Across the large living and dining area of the apartment are three French doors that open onto a full balcony with views of rooftops and the church across the street and you can look down into the street, too.
Lots of sunshine through the many windows, lovely in the morning for breakfast.
The living room is big enough for entertaining. It offers a sofa, a love seat and three arm chairs. The colors are quiet and rich. An oriental carpet echoes the reds in a large antique tapestry framed on the wall. Antique end tables, desk and chairs are upstaged by an impressive art deco cabinet. There are many fine pieces of art to appreciate. A corner cabinet hides a HD television set with USB port that has Satellite reception for English-language news. It also has a multi standard DVD player and a small selection of first-run movies (in Italian, but just put on English sub-titles). The dining table seats four and is just outside the small but complete kitchen. In the kitchen modern cabinetry holds everything you need for cooking and serving. There is a large refrigerator/freezer, drip and Italian coffee makers, microwave, gas stove top and oven.
The linens, dishes, and furniture are all excellent and enhance your stay. The photos on the website exactly represent the property.
The balcony has a table and a series of terra cotta planters all along the outside of the rail. You can enjoy a view of the facade of S. Andrea delle Frate church across the street, the little piazza below with a newsstand and the parade of people traveling to and from Piazza di Spagna.
From the entryway, a narrow, spiral stair case rises sixteen steps to the private rooftop terrace. The terrace has a rush mat cover to reduce the heat of the sun and terra cotta pots with green and flowering plants depending on the season. It is open on three sides, the fourth being painted with a unobtrusive fresco of the Roman skyline. Why focus on the fresco, when the real thing is just beyond? You can see St Peter`s dome, the Pantheon, the presidential palace, and the top of the spires on nearby Trinita di Monti church at the top of the Spanish Steps and more. A cafe table and four chairs are enough for all guests. Also, there is a stone sink and a small refrigerator. Keep your cocktail items where you need them!
There is a divine patio at the top of a spiral staircase, where you will want to have wine in the evening while you enjoy the view of St Peter's and the birds over the skyline, or coffee in the early morning.
The bedroom is well-sized, holding a queen sized bed, night stands, a television set and two closets. There is an en-suite bathroom. Next to the bathroom is a small room with more wonderful views. It houses the washing machine hidden inside a cabinet. It also contains a comfortable chair for a quiet place to read.
The sleeping loft is accessed by a pretty staircase that rises from the living room. There is just room for a French twin bed and cabinet on top of which is another television set. There is room to stand up and walk from one end of the bed to the other (i.e. the loft is larger than the bed itself).
The mater bedroom has an en-suite bathroom that is very nicely done offering a shower, toilet, bidet and a sink in marble.
The apartment was accurately advertised. extremely clean, well furnished and in a "to die for" location. no surprises.
Neighborhood sights and curiosities.Wandering this neighborhood is fun for curiosity seekers, art lovers and people watchers. The "Monster House" at Via Gregoriana 28 has windows and doors that are the mouths of monsters! The Spanish Steps are a great place to linger, appreciate the little art scene at the top, sit on the steps and watch, literally, the world go by. This is "fashion central" for Rome so if you stay a while you will see celebrities (really), gorgeously fashionable people, stunning models and fashion victims of all kinds. The opposite, it seems, is a reminder of mortality at the "Church of the Bones" right off Piazza Barberini where the bones of humble Capuchin monks have been used to decorate the chapels. In Piazza Barberini, find the celebrated Triton Fountain by the master sculptor Bernini and the small jewel of the Fountain of the Bees also by Bernini; the bee was the symbol of the Barberini family. Bernini lived in this neighborhood and the interesting little church of Sant`Andrea delle Fratte holds two Angel sculptures by him that were considered too beautiful for their intended location on the Bridge of Angels in front of Castel Sant`Angelo. The church has further charms: a lovely cloister with orange trees, its own saint and its own miracle. Then, topping the church, you see the exterior walls of the cupola designed by Bernini`s arch-rival Borromini in the baroque style in which the walls undulate like fabric. As you leave the church, look to the right down Via della Mercede to see a nice plaque to Bernini. Buy English-language newspapers from the news kiosk in front of the church. Walk down via della Mercede to find Piazza di San Silvestro a welcoming outdoor "living room". Facing the piazza is the little church of San Silvestro that has the relic of the head of St. John the Baptist; wander into the courtyard for a few minutes to enjoy the collection of ancient Roman artifacts. Fun to watch wedding parties. English Mass on Sundays. Walk one block from Piazza di San Silvestro towards the Via del Corso you can enter the soaring interior of the Galleria Alberto Sordi, a shopping mall in Art Nouveau style built in 1914. Now, this is what a shopping mall should look like! This lovely building faces Piazza Colonna, a monumental piazza that presents the marble column of Marcus Aurelius that has stood here since 193CE. This neighborhood allows you to experience some of the many fascinating layers of history and time that are typical of the Eternal City.

Our Guest Reviews
highly recommend Italy Perfect!
Italy Perfect is fantastic -- renting an apartment from them was the best decision of our trip to Rome. I am truly grateful to them! I heartily recommend Italy Perfect to anyone who is considering a trip to Italy.
(1) Truly excellent location. This is hard to know before you visit a city, but once we were in Rome, it became obvious that this property was selected by someone who knows the city block-by-block.
(2) Beautiful, clean and sunny apartment. The apartment was exactly as photographed and described online. It really is that nice. Lovely, private outdoor spaces that you can truly enjoy; quiet interior; well-furnished; easy-to-use clothes washer.
(3) Personal recommendations. Italy Perfect gave us excellent recommendations -- especially a tour guide. She MADE our trip. I can't overstate how much richer our visit to Rome was because of her stories and insight. Italy Perfect also arranged a driver (so thankful I wasn't driving thru that craziness) and had great ideas on making the trip fun and interesting for our kids and practical tips on visiting Rome.
(4) Well-organized. Everything about working with Italy Perfect was well-organized, from my first phone call through the time we left the apartment to return home. Their reservations and instructions for the apartment were all clear and easy and efficient.
I'm not usually a big review-writer. These people are truly exceptional!
[We are glad we could have been of so much service to you and that our recommendations made your trip even more wonderful! The Italy Perfect Team]
Lovely, comfortable apartment with a great location. The restaurant across the street and the one on our side of the street on the corner across from the church served such delicious food we returned to both again and again. On our side of the street to the right as you go out the door was a shop that served the most delicious sandwiches. Easy to walk to all of the sights and shops and we visited nightly the Trevi fountain and the Pantheon as they were so close. The bonus for me was the two Bernini angels in the church the street is named for. The kitchen was small but wonderfully efficient and well furnished, I was grateful our greeter left milk for us so we could immediately settle in with a cup of tea.

Italy Perfect is Amazing! Dealing with this company was easy and very professional. The accommodations were outstanding and the location was just as great. Would recommend Italy Perfect to anyone who wants great quality and service at a very good price. Thank for making our trip a wonderful experience!
[Thank you so much Tony! The Italy Perfect Team]
Our family of three enjoyed the Angelina tremendously for the following reasons:
1. Ease of booking with Pat Byrne
2. Perfect location -- right in between the route from the Spanish Steppes and the Trevi Fountain. We could walk to every location that we visited except the Appian Way
3. Delicious eateries and grocery store nearby
4. Loft single for our teenage daughter
5. Rooftop hangout area where my daughter would sketch the beautiful skyline
6. Balcony with view of church across the street
The only minor downside was the very small elevator up to the top floor where the apartment was located.
Thank you for another wonderful Perfect experience!
[Thank you so much, we are happy you enjoyed staying at the Angelina and look forward to welcoming you again!]
Angelina apt Rome
We stayed at Angelina Apt in Rome for 10 days recently. It was lovely. Everything we needed & more. We also used Italy Perfect suggestion of driver. Thank you Italy Perfect for your excellent services.
[Thank you so much! The Italy Perfect Team]
As first time visitors to Rome in our mid fifties (why did it take us so long?), we found Angelina apartment was everything we expected and more. From the recommended limousine transfer straight to the door (even during the Giro Italia bicycle race) to iced limoncello (from the very useful bar fridge) on the rooftop terrace at sunset, and from morning sun on the long pansy-planter balcony to comfy lace-edged Italian (Frette) linen on the bed at night, this apartment exuded ambiance- La Dolce Vite! Supermarket around the corner is ideal (don’t forget to weigh your own vegetables before going to the cashier) and although our greeter Guido offered to help and followed us up (which was outstanding service) we easily managed ourselves to send excess baggage home via the DHL office which is nearby, on the other side of Via Corso. We hope to stay again and would certainly recommend Angelina to our friends.
[Thank you so much Karyn, we are delighted you enjoyed staying at the Angelina! The Italy Perfect Team]
This was our second visit to Rome using the Angelina apt. We choose this as it’s location is central to so many things. Our greeter was there when we arrived and through. The elevator to the 6th floor is small but manageable and it beats climbing. We needed to use the air conditioning this time around, and it worked perfectly. The apt itself is extremely clean, tiny kitchen but who cooks that much on vacation. We used the washing machine, and while it takes small loads, it still is good. We found only one thing that might be improved and that was to clean the washing machines detergent release tray. Would we stay there again? In a heartbeat!

A Roman Holiday
This was our second visit to Rome and we so enjoyed this apartment the first time that we booked it again. The apartment is perfect for a couple and even has a loft with an extra bed if you need it for a third person or child. As a practical matter it is most well-suited for a couple.
The location is perfect, we walked to so many things in all directions. Taxis are queued up about 100 M. Away for further forays. The furnishings are well laid out and The kitchen, by American standards, is small but complete. We had no problem getting some groceries at the nearby store so that we had breakfast every day and even prepared a dinner or two. Our greeter was fantastic on all accounts and even made sure we had some staples on hand for arrival.
Italy Perfect was professional, prompt and answered any questions we had. You should take the time to read through the descriptions of the properties and the details on the website. It is most complete and really helps you understand your accommodation and best ways to enjoy it and the area. The pictures were a very accurate representation of the apartment.
We would definitely recommend using Italy Perfect and we loved the apartment we chose after studying their choices.
[Thank you so much Jack and Sue, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again! The Italy Perfect Team]
Love is better the second time around
Our second visit to Angelina, which says it all about this wonderful appartment.
Location, view, building and greeter were again the best in Rome. This time we took our 15 year old granddaughter for her first trip to the Eternal City. She converted the loft into her private "teenage" space but she spent many hours with us in the main living/dining room. We cooked in two nights and enjoyed the local restaurants the other five nights.
As the first time we rented Angelina, the appartment was clean and well stocked. Our greeter was waiting for us at the street door as we arrived from FCO. The location is perfect; we walked everywhere.
Downside? None really.
If you pressed me to name one; when the household is quiet, one can hear the elevator on weekday mornings (~8:30 am) as the buiding residents venture off to work. But it never bothered Sophia who slept closest to the top of building. Me?, I was taking my morning café on the balcony at 8;30 am, enjoying the view and never heard a sound. The appartment is VERY VERY quiet.
I would recommend Angelina to all. I would go back for a third time.
[Thank you so much Joe, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay again and look forward to welcoming you back! The Italy Perfect Team]
Rome - Angelina
Our accommodation was very good - the location was absolutely tremendous
We found some great restaurants and the Angelina Bar around the corner had wonderful staff and we enjoyed having an afternoon Prosecco in here most afternoons
My only negative was the shower was small but all in all good not question the apartment especially the balcony was terrific.
[Thank you so much Deena! The Italy Perfect Team]
