Danza apartment exceeded our expectations, terrace was great
Enjoy toasting golden sunsets from the terrace that crowns the Danza apartment. This apartment is in a wonderful, historic center location.
You can`t help but be enchanted but this quaint location, one of Rome`s best-loved historic neighborhoods. Campo de` Fiori and Piazza Navona are very close by. Enjoy wonderful restaurants, historic sites at every turn, welcoming cafes, shopping and the best open-air produce market in Rome all within easy walking distance from the Danza apartment. The area is graced by the striking Santa Maria in Monticelli church dating back to the 1100`s and rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. Only occasionally open to the public the church houses an order of French priests; we`ve heard that if you ring the bell and ask nicely they have been known to give a free private tour. It`s helpful if you can speak some French; remember to leave a donation in the offering box to express your appreciation.
The Danza apartment is on the top floor of a small apartment building from the 1500s. There is half a flight of steps once inside in the building up to the elevator, affixed to the building`s back exterior since the building`s ancient stairwell was too narrow to be retrofitted with such a modern conveyance. That alone is impressive from an architectural aspect, a building challenge that demonstrates Romans` age-old engineering solutions. When you leave the elevator, a half a flight of steps to reach the apartment.
Danza is a spacious, comfortable light-filled apartment with some of the original features, such as the antique tile floors and beamed ceilings preserved. In addition to the rooftop terrace, we love the sweet "Juliet" balconies off the living and dining rooms. The furnishings are basic, so if you`re looking for a well-located apartment with a terrace with views and don`t need fancy decor or amenities, this is an apartment to consider. If you prefer luxury quality, please ask about our other apartments.
The apartment has an open entry foyer. The large living room is immediately to the left. French doors at the far end enhance the room. From the living room enjoy views of the side of the church and the ever-changing scene down below of this small, inviting street. The living room is casually furnished with a modern sofa, an armchair and padded chair, glass coffee table. It is a sunny, well laid-out, appealing terraced apartment a super-central location. To the right of the living room step into the full dining room, with its wonderful original checkerboard tiles. It`s nice that they've been preserved as the add a special touch to the room. The dining table has seating for six.
The kitchen has handsome honed marble counter tops and a large stone farmhouse sink maintain the apartment`s authentic character. The kitchen has a small table with seating for two. A large window admits lots of light. There is a full refrigerator, freezer section, 4-burner gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, dishwasher and washing machine.
If your interest in the Danza apartment isn`t already piqued here comes the best part. The terrace! Straight ahead off the entry foyer is a stairway leading up to a small open office area (who can work with views like these?) which leads out to the enchanting terrace. Imagine starting your day in Rome with a cup of espresso, the sound of seagulls flying overhead and views of Roman rooftops and church domes! Can you figure out the churches for the five domes you can see from the terrace? There is a patio table with seating for four. The canvas awing provides shade. In the evening wander back upstairs for cocktail hour and enjoy the sounds of church bells tolling at sunset or watch waves of tiny swallows swooping and diving through the sky at twilight.
Both bedrooms are towards the back of the apartment, facing away from the street, a good feature in a thriving city like Rome where street noise from passersby and motor scooters is a given.
The first bedroom is off the living room with two twin beds and adjoining bathroom. The beds can be joined to form a queen-sized bed. Built-in closets and cupboards line one wall providing lots of storage for clothes, luggage. The air conditioning unit in the living room is positioned to best deliver air conditioning to this bedroom which process can be aided by a fan. There is a small window above the beds.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a large window overlooking the quiet back-building area and rooftops.
The first bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet. It does have a shower that has the traditional design with no lip on the catch basin so water can run out.
Just outside the second bedroom is the second bathroom with a bathtub with shower over, sink and toilet. A small eyebrow window over the tub is a cute feature.

- Super location, easy walkability to sites, restaurants
- Terrace lets you experience an unforgettable aspect of Roman living not found on any tour or museum.
- Very nicely laid-out, works well for two couples or a family.
- Decorating is "quiet" without knick knacks and embellishments. This is not luxury quality; the furniture is basic but you'll love the location, quaint Roman charm and fantastic location
- TV receives a few local Italian channels only via antenna, no English language, no premium channels.
- Good location and terrace compensate for lack of decor warmth.
- Elevator is slow & stops between floors so always some steps, but just having an elevator in such a prime location is a huge plus. It can hold 2 small people or 1 large person at a time.
Our Guest Reviews
Perfectly Located Apartment
The location of the Danza apartment was perfect for our family of 4. We walked to the Colloseum, Vatican, Borghese Gardens and everywhere in between. We ate dinner every night in Trastevere, which is an easy 5 minute walk. Despite the location, the apartment is very quiet. We visited in July, so the terrace and A/C helped keep us comfortable. The apartment itself is clean and has basic furnishings. The apartment is well represented on the Italy Perfect website and I highly recommend it for someone looking for a well located, quiet apartment in Rome.

The apartment is clean, large enough and she roof dining is so much fun. The best part is the location - AWESOME close to every thing you want to do in Rome and the restaurant Traverna Trilussa - fabulous! Stairs are rough but you totally get used to them. Our stay going forward!
[We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay! There is an elevator should you prefer to use it. The Italy Perfect Team]
The location is superb in the middle of the winding old streets of mideaval Rome yet with ancient ruins nearby. Good restaurants to be found. The terrace is the perfect spot for relaxing and dining. The apartment is comfortable, not fancy, but fine for us. The welcome was very pleasant. And the service of Italy Perfect excellent.
The Danza apartment was quite charming. The layout is comfortable and large enough for a small family to exist while not being too close for comfort. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and the property managers were nice to have many essentials stocked (olive oil, sugar, pasta, sauce, etc).
The location is also impeccable as it’s close to everything in the historic center, especially Campo Di Fiore and the Trastavere neighborhood, which our family enjoyed often with walks across the Tiber.
We would definitely recommend this property again!

Great place to stay in Rome!
Danza was perfect for our family of 4 while we visited Rome. Excellent central location, we could walk everywhere! The rooftop was lovely for a glass of wine at the end of the evening. Great service - our greeter met us at the property so we could drop off our bags before check in. We would definitely recommend Danza while staying in Rome!

We had a wonderful time staying here. We thought it was the perfect location and a quick walk to the most amazing restaurants. We loved having wine on the roof top terrace each night! The hosts who checked us in was great and very informative and had very quick response time if we ever needed anything. Thanks again for a great trip! Hope to come back one day.
Lovely Rome terrace apartment
We have spent five days in Rome and the apartment fulfilled all our needs. From the warm greetings of Gianluca to the easiest of the check in checkout process. The apartment matches 100% the pictures. Comfortable beds, simple but well decorated, with a fabulous terrace upstairs and very well located. In addition it has elevator that for lugagge carry is a must specially when many apartments in Rome lack of it. Very well place, we went walking almost to everywhere, from Trastevere, to Colisseum or Piazza Navona/Pantheon/fontana di Trevi route. 100% recommended.

Danza apartment review
We stayed in the Danza apartment from 12/30-1/7/19. We were 3 adults and 1 teenager & the configuration of the apartment worked well for us. The apartment is 4 floors up and the stairs are quite steep - so not optimal for everyone. There is a slow elevator that takes 1 person. We were in Rome over New Years Eve, we were out until midnight and returned to the apartment to watch the impressive fireworks over Rome from the 2nd floor rooftop terrace of the apartment, it worked very well. The accommodations are functional, but not luxurious. The location was excellent for us, we walked to key sites. Rome is surprisingly manageable on foot. The apartment is very close to the Jewish Quarter which has a vibrant restaurant scene. The apartment is also close to a small supermarket (Punto) and a tremendous bakery (Antico Forno Roscioli) and many other small independent shops. We enjoyed having breakfast in the sunny dining room with items from the supermarket and bakery. We did several experiences through Airbnb: making gelato, making pasta and exploring caves and catacombs under Rome - highly recommend trying such things, we found them to be fun and it was interesting to meet local people who were interested in showing off both their talents and their knowledge of Rome.
[Thank you for staying with us while you were in Rome. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed a great New Year Celebration, and we look forward to working with you again. The Italy Perfect Team.]
