Danza apartment exceeded our expectations, terrace was great
Enjoy toasting golden sunsets from the terrace that crowns the Danza apartment. This apartment is in a wonderful, historic center location.
You can`t help but be enchanted but this quaint location, one of Rome`s best-loved historic neighborhoods. Campo de` Fiori and Piazza Navona are very close by. Enjoy wonderful restaurants, historic sites at every turn, welcoming cafes, shopping and the best open-air produce market in Rome all within easy walking distance from the Danza apartment. The area is graced by the striking Santa Maria in Monticelli church dating back to the 1100`s and rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. Only occasionally open to the public the church houses an order of French priests; we`ve heard that if you ring the bell and ask nicely they have been known to give a free private tour. It`s helpful if you can speak some French; remember to leave a donation in the offering box to express your appreciation.
The Danza apartment is on the top floor of a small apartment building from the 1500s. There is half a flight of steps once inside in the building up to the elevator, affixed to the building`s back exterior since the building`s ancient stairwell was too narrow to be retrofitted with such a modern conveyance. That alone is impressive from an architectural aspect, a building challenge that demonstrates Romans` age-old engineering solutions. When you leave the elevator, a half a flight of steps to reach the apartment.
Danza is a spacious, comfortable light-filled apartment with some of the original features, such as the antique tile floors and beamed ceilings preserved. In addition to the rooftop terrace, we love the sweet "Juliet" balconies off the living and dining rooms. The furnishings are basic, so if you`re looking for a well-located apartment with a terrace with views and don`t need fancy decor or amenities, this is an apartment to consider. If you prefer luxury quality, please ask about our other apartments.
The apartment has an open entry foyer. The large living room is immediately to the left. French doors at the far end enhance the room. From the living room enjoy views of the side of the church and the ever-changing scene down below of this small, inviting street. The living room is casually furnished with a modern sofa that can be organized as a sofa bed for an additional fee (max 4 guests), an armchair and padded chair, glass coffee table. It`s not fancy, just basic, serviceable furniture good for the vacation renter who wants a sunny, well laid-out, appealing terraced apartment a super-central location. To the right of the living room step into the full dining room, with its wonderful original checkerboard tiles. It`s nice that they`ve been preserved as the add a special touch to the room. The dining table has seating for six.
Retrace your steps back through the living room to find the attractive kitchen off to the right of the foyer. Handsome honed marble counter tops and a large stone farmhouse sink maintain the apartment`s authentic character. The kitchen has a small table with seating for two. A large window admits lots of light. There is a full refrigerator, freezer section, 4-burner gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, dishwasher and washing machine.
If your interest in the Danza apartment isn`t already piqued here comes the best part. The terrace! Straight ahead off the entry foyer is a stairway leading up to a small open office area (who can work with views like these?) which leads out to the enchanting terrace. Imagine starting your day in Rome with a cup of espresso, the sound of seagulls flying overhead and views of Roman rooftops and church domes! Can you figure out the churches for the five domes you can see from the terrace? There is a patio table with seating for four. The canvas awing provides shade. In the evening wander back upstairs for cocktail hour and enjoy the sounds of church bells tolling at sunset or watch waves of tiny swallows swooping and diving through the sky at twilight.
Directly ahead off the foyer is the first bedroom. The bedrooms are towards the back of the apartment, facing away from the street, a good feature in a thriving city like Rome where street noise from passersby and motor scooters is a given. The first bedroom with two twin beds and adjoining half-bathroom. The beds can be joined to form a queen-sized bed. Built-in closets and cupboards line one wall providing lots of storage for clothes, luggage. The air conditioning unit in the living room is positioned to best deliver air conditioning to this bedroom which process can be aided by a fan. There is a small window above the beds.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a large window overlooking the quiet back-building area and rooftops. There is an antique dresser and small closet.
The first bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet. It does have a shower that has the traditional design with no lip on the catch basin so water can runs out.
Just outside the second bedroom is the second bathroom with a bathtub with shower over, sink and toilet. A small eyebrow window over the tub is a cute feature.

Our Guest Reviews
Danza apartment review
We stayed in the Danza apartment from 12/30-1/7/19. We were 3 adults and 1 teenager & the configuration of the apartment worked well for us. The apartment is 4 floors up and the stairs are quite steep - so not optimal for everyone. There is a slow elevator that takes 1 person. We were in Rome over New Years Eve, we were out until midnight and returned to the apartment to watch the impressive fireworks over Rome from the 2nd floor rooftop terrace of the apartment, it worked very well. The accommodations are functional, but not luxurious. The location was excellent for us, we walked to key sites. Rome is surprisingly manageable on foot. The apartment is very close to the Jewish Quarter which has a vibrant restaurant scene. The apartment is also close to a small supermarket (Punto) and a tremendous bakery (Antico Forno Roscioli) and many other small independent shops. We enjoyed having breakfast in the sunny dining room with items from the supermarket and bakery. We did several experiences through Airbnb: making gelato, making pasta and exploring caves and catacombs under Rome - highly recommend trying such things, we found them to be fun and it was interesting to meet local people who were interested in showing off both their talents and their knowledge of Rome.
[Thank you for staying with us while you were in Rome. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed a great New Year Celebration, and we look forward to working with you again. The Italy Perfect Team.]
This is a great apartment in a great location. I travel to Italy several times a year and when in Rome---prefer to stay in this area of the city. The 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms are situated perfectly to provide plenty of privacy. The outdoor space is wonderful! I have found my "home" when in Rome!
[Thank you so much, we look forward to welcome you again! The Italy Perfect Team]
Clean, well maintained unit. Comfortable beds, nice little kitchen, good space for 4, fast internet. The unit definitely met our needs. We would stay there again. Italy perfect was great, responsive, and very helpful in planning our vacation. Comments for Americans: The 4th apt has a very small, slow, 1 person elevator which felt claustrophobic. We wanted to love the terrace, but steps were inconvenient, and the view not great. The small bthrm is easy to flood when showering. Take an extra cleaning and towels if staying more than a couple of nights. Suggestions for the owners: Add more comfy seats in the livingroom, and more art to the very white walls. The instructions in the unit need clearer info on refuse disposal & recycling.
[Thank you very much for your review and for appreciating this apartment and our service. Thank you for your suggestions. The elevator retrofit into a 500 year old building, the timeless view of Roman rooftops, the church and the many church cupolas are appreciated by many. The Italy Perfect Team]
Beautiful Apartment in Rome
There were three of us staying in the apartment and the space worked perfectly. The location was quiet but steps away from Campo Fiori. We found that most of the sights we wanted to see were within walking distance and an incredible selection of restaurants and shops were easily accessible. Our host met us at the apartment (actually he found us on the street since we were jet lagged and a little confused as to which building it was) and the early check-in was so much appreciated after a long travel day. The apartment was nicely furnished and the upstairs terrace was a fabulous spot enjoy the warm evenings before dinner. It would have been nice to have a few more towels on hand for our 6 night stay. Thanks and we would love to return.
[Thank you Jim, we are happy you enjoyed staying at the Danza! The Italy Perfect Team]
This spacious apartment is a gem
Through Italy Perfect we found this wonderful apartment not far from Campo de’ Fiori and the Pantheon. It’s spacious and has a rooftop deck that we loved. The apartment was well-stocked and comfortable. My daughter and I loved coming home to it after sight-seeing. It is a perfect oasis for visitors who are seeing all of the highlights of Rome and then want to relax. We tried neighborhood restaurants and really loved the outdoor cafe just around the corner. Great cuisine, very local! We also enjoyed walking over to de’ Fiori or Piazza Navone at sunset and listening to the street musicians! We highly recommend this apartment & Italy Perfect!

Perfect Roman Apartment for a Family!
"Danza" is an absolutely lovely, perfect apartment for a family of four or two couples. It is nicely appointed and spacious, while still comfortable and cozy. The kitchen has everything you might need and the terrace a wonderful view. The wifi is great and it was nice on the few rainy days to have a separate dining room. It is also really quiet at night, especially for the lively Campo dei Fiori neighborhood. The bathrooms are updated and pretty...and no one ever came to Rome for the water pressure!
What truly set it apart was the wonderful support staff. Gianluca, the greeter, came to fix a small heating problem within an hour and then came to our rescue when our daughter suffered a medical emergency. Pat at Italy Perfect was so helpful too with arranging a car at the airport and then managing our stay when prolonged for our daughter's health.
I could not recommend this apartment more and hope to stay there again next time we are in Rome.
[Thank you so much Vanessa, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
Alles wie beschrieben, sogar besser! Beste Lage, zentral, aber ruhig. Nettes Apartment, schöne Terrasse! Gerne wieder.
Great apartment in great location
This apartment is in a great location - I don't think it could be better placed for visiting all the main sites. Although quite basic in terms of furniture, etc., it is very spacious, and the terrace is a real bonus. We had a great holiday and would highly recommend this apartment.
[Thank you Louise, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
Wonderful Apartment in Perfect Location
The apartment was better than we imagined even after seeing the video tour. Roomy, light, perfect for 3 or 4 people. The roof top terrace is wonderful. While located in the Centro Storico, it is on a quiet street. Wonderful Gelato at Pic Alberto 1/2 block away and two blocks from Pianostrada, a great place for dinner. Christina Bonasera (recommended by Italy Perfect) gave us a wonderful guided tour of the Vatican. We will certainly use Italy Perfect again.
On the only negative note, the two car services recommended were not good. Neither responded to my Emails and when my daughter finally contacted Rome Value Transfer by text, they promised a ride to the airport, but the ride did not show up the next morning.
[We’re so happy that the Danza apartment exceeded your expectations and we are delighted to hear that you’ll book with us again in the future, we look forward to welcoming you back. We are so sorry to hear of the issue with the car service referrals to see if they never received their emails, it sounds like there must have been a communications glitch in your correspondence with them. We’ll follow up to see what happened. Thank you for letting us know. The Italy Perfect Team]
Fantastic location for a wonderful Rome experience.
This is our second rental from Italy Perfect and I was even more impressed with the apartment and the service. We used their recommended car service and were greeted by Gianluca the moment we arrived. He was helpful getting us acquainted with the apartment and the neighborhood and gave us his cell number in case we needed anything.. The location was great for exploring the sights but the highlight was enjoying our wine and cheese on the terrace while watching the colorful sunset behind the domes. Our party was 2 couples and we had plenty of room and appreciated having 2 bathrooms and lots of hot water for showers.
[Thank you Marie, we look forward to welcoming you again! The Italy Perfect Team]
