Absolutely the most wonderful place I have EVER stayed.
The vista of a lifetime...the icon of the ancient city of the Romans, the Coliseum, can be treasured from this fully equipped and spacious apartment.
You don't even need an address for this property! Just show a photo of the view and, just a guess, 50% of the people in the world over the age of 10 will be able to tell you where it is. This location is not only wonderful for the view but also convenient for transportation and sightseeing. The subway comes right to the Coliseum, very handy. The trolley that runs in front (that you truly don't hear from inside the apartment) connects to the Ostiense train station, the Pyramid of Cestius also runs into Roman neighborhoods. Take a ride to get a feeling of "real" Rome not just the famous sights of the center.
Of course, you are in the center of ancient Rome and can easily explore the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Forum Romanum and the Domus Aurea all right outside your door. Don't miss the nearby Basilica of San Clemente that was built on top of a temple to the Roman and Persian god of Mithras, that you can actually see! The neighborhood of Monti is right there, likely where you will shop and enjoy dining.
Monti isn`t as famous as other areas, yet is right in the center of the Eternal City with many of the famous sights within walking distance. It is characteristically Roman, one of the most ancient neighborhoods in the city. History echoes with views of the Coliseum, the Roman Forum just a few minutes by foot. 2000 years ago this was the subura, the working class area of ancient Rome where Julius Cesar grew up. A number of the most important churches in Rome are nearby: St. John Lateran, St. Peter in Chains, St. Mary Major. This is also the neighborhood where the secrets of nuclear physics were first discovered by the Ragazzi of Via Panisperna. The "ragazzi" (boys) researched at one of the faculties of La Sapienza - the University of Rome founded in 1303. Traditionally a neighborhood of craftsmen, you will find old crafts and modern arts and crafts side by side. Monti has gentrified over the last decade so there is a wealth of restaurants, beautiful shops with fine items of all kinds. Some guests find this more fun to explore than jostling with the crowds around the Spanish Steps.
Monti is regularly featured as an interesting neighborhood in the press: Conde Nast Traveler 2014, Rome`s New Scene: The Most Happening Neighborhoods; National Geographic Traveler`s "Rome`s Hottest `Hood" 2013; The New York Times 2011 In Rome, Monti Is a Quiet Treasure, The New York Times 2006 In Rome, a Place for Romans.
The picturesque streets of Monti appear in many movies since the area retains so much authentic charm.
The neighborhood has become very desirable to Romans because it experiences less tourist traffic than other areas. Guests enjoy living like Romans in the heart of the Eternal City.
The apartment is in a fine building from the late 1800s. You can see the quality style in the elegant entry and the generous proportions of the rooms and ceilings.
The two-level layout of Imperial Vista is spacious and flexible making it comfortable for many combinations of visitors.
On the entry level, is a large entry room with sofa that leads to the study. The study has the most spectacular view of the Coliseum from french doors and a Juliet balcony. This room has a sofa, hutch and a table you may want to use for your computer and correspondence.
Handsome arched doorways reflect the arches of the Coliseum, connect the study to the living room. The living room is comfortable with two sofas each with three seats. The Coliseum views out the window almost upstages original art on the walls. The art collection is eclectic with fine original oils, pastels and drawings. Several pieces feature cats, the famous mascot animal of the Coliseum. The television receives local Italian channels only.
These front rooms face west for spectacular sunset vistas of the Coliseum and Arch of Constantine. The window and french doors are super insulated, when closed, they block the noise from outside. We tested it ourselves and were impressed at the sound dampening of the windows.
Another arch leads to the dining room, also nicely decorated with art, books and an ornamental fireplace. The table can flexibly be configured for from 4 to 10 diners. The cupboards contain the tableware for all.
Beyond the dining room is a full kitchen that has three windows that overlook the internal courtyard, local rooftops and a utility balcony. The kitchen is compact but fully functional. Appliances include full size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, oven, gas cook-top, tea kettle, microwave, Italian and American drip-style coffee makers. Also find the combinations washer/dryer in the kitchen.
The furnishings are of high quality and well maintained. There is central heating, air-conditioning and free wifi.
On the same level as the living room, dining room is the first bedroom with queen size bed. A little desk is placed under the window that overlooks the quiet courtyard behind the building. The closet is in the bathroom. The ensuite bath is large with shower and tub, heated towel racks (on in winter, when heat is on).
On the second levels, accessed by two separate staircases, are the second and third bedrooms and bathrooms.
The second bedroom is upstairs from the foyer. Separate from the other sleeping area, it is private. The bed is a queen. There is a full wall of closets. The ensuite bath is very attractive with curved wood cabinetry. There is a toilet, bidet and quality glass-enclosed shower.
Stairs rise from the dining room to an open level that has a single bed and a full bathroom with shower. This bathroom also holds the washer/dryer.
There is a ductless air conditioner in each bedroom. The one in the loft area reaches the dining room below. Fans can be provided during warm days.

Our Guest Reviews
Lovely place, ample room and super clean. Location was great with a taxi stand right out front and a bus stop around the corner. Ana was a friendly and helpful greeter and showed us everything we needed. The spiral stairs are a bit tricky so I would say leave that room for the young people. Overall great place.
Very nice place with great view of Coliseum. Anna was very helpful on arrival. Well furnished with classy decor. Stayed cool during hot days.
Would recommend very highly

The Imperial Rome apartment is fantastic! The view is incomparable and we loved being greeted by Ana, the one who designed the interiors. She was wonderful!
First, my family of five (including three children), were greeted warmly by Anna, Albertina's mother, who provided a patient and concise orientation to this amazing apartment. The view of the Coliseum from a shuttered, huge floor-to-ceiling mini-balcony is beyond belief. Although the westward-facing windows mean you have to pull the shudders to avoid warming up the apartment in summer, the morning view of the Coliseum, Constantine's Arch, and Palatine Hill is what makes this apartment worthwhile even if it was not so well-decorated inside. A great apartment and a great base of operations for those wanting a jump on exploring old Rome from a central location. This was our first use of Italy Perfect and, with their responsive communications and helpful materials that helped us prepare, would definitely use them again.

The Imperial Vista apartment is beautifully decorated and has stunning views of the Colosseum. The owners provided a thorough introduction to the apartment and stocked the frig with the basics, including a few jars of their own delicious yogurt. It's hard to imagine a better base for exploring classical Rome, including the Domus Aurea, Colosseum, and Forum, all within easy walking distance, as is the San Clemente church with its layers of history and San Pietro in Vincoli with Michelangelo's Moses. We walked to the Monti district and found several good restaurants; we also took full advantage of the taxi stand right outside for touring other parts of Rome. We were a party of five, and it perhaps helped that we had synchronized schedules since conversations carried from the living rooms to bedrooms on the mezzanine level. Highly recommended.
[From Italy Perfect: Thank you for your thoughtful review, we welcome you back anytime to Italy!]
Great apartment. Beautiful view of the Colisseum. More importantly, a fantastic walk home every evening by the Roman forum. The apartment was well furnished and comfortable. We would stay there again.

This was a wonderful space with a lovely host. The location was amazing and the space was perfect for our family of four - especially with two teenagers. What a great way of ending our holiday.
LOOK NO FURTHER! STAY HERE!

The pictures say it all...really. I was really looking forward to our stay at this fantastic apartment as part of our trip to Italy. Those expectations were met and exceeded. What a treat to stay in this one-of-a-few apartments. After a week in hotels, it was great for our family of four to spread out for a few days and be able to prepare some meals at home.
Anna, the host and owner, greeted our family upon arrival. That in of itself was worth the cost of admission. She took so much joy is sharing all aspects of the apartment with us and unexpectantly and kindly had stocked the fridge with some necessities. Such warmth and genuine interest in our family and our visit to her city.
Although right across the street from the biggest attraction in Rome, the apartment itself is relatively quiet and with the shutters closed (at night for instance) absolutely quiet. Each bedroom has an efficient AC unit that made sleeping very comfortable. During the day they were off and the apartment was cooled with open kitchen and living room windows.
The galley style kitchen is small by US standards--best for one person operation. But so glad to have a chance to cook and prepare simple meals. Well appointed. (loved the Italian style Moka coffee maker, aided by Youtube video instruction I found).
The main floor has a "master bedroom" with a queen size bed and bath. One upstairs sleeping area has a single bed and is open aired, ie similar to a loft. Given we closed the front shutters at night this sleeping area remained dark for late sleep ins when necessary. (we walked and walked and walked and went to bed late many nights). The third sleeping area is a double bed up a spiral staircase, more of an enclosed room than the other elevated sleeping space. Each sleeping space has its own bath.
The living room and den space each have long couches that could be sleeping spaces as well if you had another person or two (we were four).
There is a European style (ie all-in-one) clothes washer & dryer in one of the upstairs bathrooms. Despite many trips to Europe, I've yet to master these units....There are manufacturers instructions but still, we had a devil of a time getting a "load" done in anything less than 5 hours. Clearly we need some training:)
My teens were amazed as were the adults. A grand oasis in the heart of the city yet away from the teaming crowds of center city. 5 minutes walk to metro, groceries literally around the corner. Just down the street about 10 minutes is an excellent bike tour company. Highly recommend an evening tour with them OR renting a bike on your own as their equipment is top notch. Top Bike.
Pat from Italyperfect was a tremendous help and resource. Not only did she make the booking process seamless, she also helped with a number of questions I had about our stay in Rome in general, even helping secure a restaurant reservation in Italian. I will definitely seek out Italy Perfect in the future.
