If I could move permanently to Florence this would be my dream apartment.
With the Piazza Santa Croce outside your door, the Belvedere welcomes you with comfort and a sunny terrace to relax and enjoy cocktails at sunset as you hear the church bells toll throughout the city.
Conveniently located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, the palazzo is a landmark Renaissance Palazzo, and one of the few left in the historic center of Florence with a dramatic frescoed facade.
During late May thru late June there is noise in the piazza related to the Calico Storico, historic soccer matches. Late May is bleacher set up, June is practices and matches. If you can catch any of the play-offs (dates not advised in advance) or the final on June 24th, you’ll get a rare treat and the “best seat in the house”. For more information look up Calcio Storico on YouTube.
Many people passing through Piazza Santa Croce notice Giovanni di Ser Giovanni`s 1620 frescoes on the overhanging facade this handsome building, but few realize they can actually stay here. The 16th-century palazzo is owned by the gracious Contessa Piccolomini, who rents out truly spacious apartments to anyone who has ever dreamed of lying in bed near a roaring fire under a 17th-century frescoed ceiling or sipping tea in a living room surrounded by trompe d`oeil Roman ruins with a 16th-century wood ceiling above.
On the fourth floor (American designation) with elevator up 3 steps from main entrance.

- Belvedere faces south, so gets a lot of sun in the summer.
- Lovely apartments. Very comfortable and well appointed.
- We loved observing the daily life of the piazza starting with street cleaners, dog walkers, children going to school, the first tourists all the way till the after dinner strollers.
- One of the lowest spots in the city, note the high water marks on the buildings in the neighborhood -- on the second floor.
- The Santa Croce church with the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and more is worth a day.
- Additional fees for utilities that are charged according to use.
Our Guest Reviews
The Perfect location
The Belvidere on Piazza Santa Croce was the perfect location for walking to all the sites of Florence. Being an apartment that was not facing the Piazza provided a quieter stay, and a lovely deck to enjoy wine, cheese and bread. Accomodations were excellent, and the facilities were very good. All in all, a great 4 weeks in Italy! Italy Perfect was a great find.
[Thank you so much for your kind review.]
The location was terrific
The accommodations were very comfortable in every way. We appreciated the additional roll-away bed. All 6 of us were very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements.
The kitchen was very well-stocked. We appreciated the American coffee maker very much!
The location was terrific - close to everything. An easy walk to the main sites, Arno River, etc.
We found it impossible to get a taxi in Florence (!!) We found the Hop On, Hop Off bus useful because it stopped nearby. It would be nice to include a map of the bus routes in the apartment since it seems that a lot of them go close to the apartment.
No real restaurant recommendations. There was a nice list in the apartment and all of our meals were wonderful.
We appreciate all the help and support given to us by Italy Perfect!

Our time staying at Palazzo Antellesi and at Santa Croce Belvedere was amazing. We had a large family group so having two apartments on the same floor was incredibly useful. We felt safe in the location and the apartment was well furnished and when you envision italian homes this was exactly what we thought. This was our second time staying at Palazzo Antellesi and we would do so again in a heartbeat.
This charming apartment was perfect for our family of four!
This charming apartment was perfect for our family of four! Centrally located off Piazza Santa Croce, we walked everywhere and returned at the end of each day to our "home away from home". Good restaurants close by (Boccadama and Osteria de Benci) and the Santa Croce Church is truly impressive with its tombs and frescoes. We would not hesitate to return to this apartment and highly recommend Italy Perfect. Thanks to Pat and Lisa for providing such a warm and welcoming accommodation and for being such a great resource of information!
Palazzo Santa Croce
The central location of Palazzo Santa Croce can't be beat! And the history surrounding the building and the frescoes is so interesting!
We originally booked Santa Croce Paradiso but, since my husband is a very light sleeper, found that the revelers in the Piazza were too boisterous for us to sleep well. We approached the managers - as well as copying Pat on our email - and they could NOT have been more lovely or helpful in providing us with an alternative. We moved to the Belvedere and were thrilled with it! It doesn't look over the Piazza, which was just fine with us, but it has a southerly facing terrace and was extremely quiet. Not to mention darling! Love the colors.
With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the apartment has everything one needs for a lovely holiday. It was clean and well appointed. And the appliances all worked well. It's clear the owners manage this building with great care.
The restaurant directly downstairs, Boccadama, is pretty good and the workers are extremely pleasant. One night we ordered pizza from them and they let us take the dishes up to our terrace so we could dine privately - we just had to return everything the next day!
Also, Boutique Nadine was a great little find. And Osteria dei Benci is fantastic at lunch.
I would definitley recommend Italy Perfect! Pat was a complete joy to work with!

Awesome Stay in Firenze
On the advice of two friends who rented an apartment in Firenze through Italy Perfect in 2013 I did the same for October 2015. For four weeks I stayed in the Palazzo Santa Croce in Firenze in a beautiful apartment on the third floor with a charming sitting room, large southern exposed terrace, small but superb kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The owners of the Palazzo had left nothing to chance; everything was perfect, nothing was missing. It was a joy to return to such lovely surroundings every day. Danish and Scottish friends came to stay, and whether we ate out or in, all was most enjoyable.
The location was right on Piazza Santa Croce, within walking distance of everything.
I am already planning for my next Italian visit through Italy Perfect.

Perfect week at S Croce Belvedere
When we rented the apartment in Florence we had no idea just how much it would enhance our stay. Each day we returned to our HOME with appetizers in hand. Then we would sit on our private terrace, enjoying wonderful italian cheeses and wine while discussing our day. We were traveling with 2 twenty year olds and had we all returned to separate hotel rooms our experience would not have been shared or enjoyed nearly as much. We will travel this way from now on.
[Thank you so much, Mary. Your appetizers on the terrace sound delicious. Nice to enjoy with your 20 year olds rather than be separated. Please come again! The Italy Perfect Team]
We had a wonderful stay in Florence. This apartment is very spacious and comfortable. The location was great. Our greeter was very helpful. Would highly fecommend this apartment for families. The restaurant right next door was very good and very friendly. Thanks Italy Perfect for the wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend them to friends.

The location couldn't be better. Plenty of room for all five of us. Plus everyone had there own bath plus air conditioner in all rooms. Host were very accommodating and answered all questions. Only one flaw kitchen needed a few more items (soap for dishes and surfaces). Our six days couldn't have been better.
[We are delighted your stay was so nice. The Italy Perfect team]
Our apartment was very comfortable, quiet, clean, and well equipped.
Our apartment was very comfortable, quiet, clean, and well equipped. It was located in a historic palazzo turned into apartments on the Piazza Santa Croce. Our interests were in history, art, and architecture so the location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere and even manage one of our party in a wheelchair. There is a "super" market a few blocks away for anything from staples to fine wine. We ate well everyday in a restaurant near our morning excursions, so all over the historic area. Food was great everywhere. Our travel companions are world-class consumers of gelato and give world-class honors to the small gelateria around the corner, facing the convent associated with Santa Croce. The folks at Italy Perfect were very helpful. And, yes, I would certainly seek them out again and recommend them to friends.
