It was a priviledge to enjoy this gorgeous apartment.
Worthy of Architectural Digest, this dramatically beautiful and luxurious apartment dazzles. Astounding frescoes, designer furniture and original art abound in a national landmark. Truly unique.
In the Santa Croce area of Florence, the building is just before the Ponte alle Grazie, the lovely "bridge of the graces".
The exterior is of an early renaissance style. It was designed by the famous architect Brunelleschi, the same builder of the famous dome of the Florence cathedral. A huge door opens into a graceful cloistered courtyard of charming proportions. A doorman is on duty during daytime hours. Within the courtyard you find original Andrea della Robia ceramic decorations. The large columns are have decorative crowns typical of Brunelleschi`s style.
Building in 1420, the building was renovated in 2012 to form a small number of luxury apartments. This particular apartment has a famous history, being the birthplace of the opera, a musical form developed by the Camerata Fiorentina, a group of scholars and scientists gathered by the owner of the palazzo, Count Bardi.
The La Camerata Fiorentina apartment is on the piano nobile the traditional location of the decorated public rooms of an Italian palazzo. This is the second floor North American designation, first floor European. There is no elevator, one flight of stairs to the apartment.
To ensure that the beauty of the original, historic theater was preserved, the apartment was constructed independent of the greater space. The effect is wonderful; a modern apartment wrapped in ancient beauty. See New York Times article about this Great Home.
From the pleasant entry, you may proceed up a handsome staircase to the public spaces of the apartment. The entry holds a library area, some seating, a half bath and entry to the spacious master suite. Straight ahead is the bright open space with seating and entry to two bedrooms.
The public areas of the apartment are above the twin bedrooms in an airy open mezzanine. The preservation of history and open design results in bright and unobstructed views across the apartment. Access the mezzanine from the front or back stairways. At the top of the front stairs find one of the many fine details, an ancient golden helmet! At one side is the large and very relaxing living room with original Eames furniture.
The dining room features a Le Corbusier table that seats 8 lit by a Castiglioni Arco lamp above.
A breakfast/cocktail bar in front of the kitchen overlooks the glass and steel railing that stretches the length of the Mezzanine.
The kitchen is large and complete with state of the art appliances.
Electronics and systems are state of the art: Wi-Fi Internet, AC, Heating, Sound system, Video system, Flat screen TV in sitting room and in every bedroom, DVD and CD players, Satellite TV, Water purification system, storage for valuables.
Cleaning staff 3 hours a day, 7 days a week except holidays. Welcome champagne, food and fruit basket. Bed linen change any third day. Daily towel change except holidays. Complimentary toiletries.
Two almost identical bedrooms with queen-sized beds are well separated by light-filled space. Multiple seating areas invite relaxation together or separately. Small tables in both spaces are perfect for setting up your computer. Each bedroom glows with gold leaf walls.
The master suite is accessed directly off the entry. This formal room is filled with renaissance frescoes, that, thanks to the low profile of the fine modern furniture can be appreciated in full. The bed is a king and there is a single bed also available in this room.
The master bath is a symphony in stainless steel. There is a bathroom en-suite for the second and third bedrooms. Wonderful tile-work and basins. Sliding glass doors and curtains allows you to enjoy light or not, your choice!

It is beautifully decorated and very well stocked with high end amenities, very nice linens and a wonderful kitchen.
Thank you for a perfect stay at La Camerata Fiorentina. The apartment exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully decorated and very well stocked with high end amenities, very nice linens and a wonderful kitchen. The daily housekeeping service was a nice bonus for a rental. The location is perfect for both the tourist areas and the Oltrano trendy restaurants, just a quick hop across the bridge. We used your recommendations for local drivers who were wonderful and always on time. The service from your company was excellent from start to finish. I am anxious to return and enjoy this exquisite property again and to try your properties in Paris and London.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay. Attentive service, luxury accommodations, fabulous location. The Italy Perfect Team was so professional and helpful. Thank you!
Italy Perfect is truly perfect
Italy Perfect is truly perfect and this apartment exceeded our wildest expectations. Every time I opened the front door and stepped into the entry hall I had a "Pinch me, I am really living here for 1 week!" feeling. It is an absolutely perfect apartment for 3 couples as it offers plenty of space and plenty of privacy. It is beautifully furnished and has practically everything one could possibly need; we could not have been more comfortable. The location is also perfect - one block from the river and within walking distance of all the important museums and churches but a bit away from most of the tourist crowds. Around the corner were wonderful small shops for stocking up on bread, fruit, cheese, sausage and wine. If you have a chance to rent La Camerata Fiorentina jump at it. It will make definitely enhance your stay in Florence.
Dear Carol, we were delighted to read your review and are so happy you had such a lovely stay. Thank you very, very much! Italy Perfect
