Live like royalty with spectacular views over the Arno river and the Uffizi Gallery! The spacious, refined and very elegant Vela exudes sophistication, comfort and elegance.
A large and bright apartment with lovely views of the Arno river and the storied galleries of the Uffizi, once the offices of the powerful Medici family.
Located in a Renaissance palazzo directly across the river from the Uffizi Gallery, Florence`s most famous museum. You`ll enjoy beautiful views of Florence and the Arno river.
The building blends with its Renaissance-age neighbors with grey stone, pietra serena, accenting its classical proportions. The building is locked and has a doorman during business hours.
The welcoming entry has a an antique table with mirror and a coat closet. The front three rooms of the apartment, the living room and two bedrooms have splendid views of the Arno River, the Uffizi Gallery art musuem, the Ponte Vecchio with its little houses and the Vasari Corridor and above it all the iconic bell tower of the Palazzo Vecchio. Each element of the view resounds with history of the city that contains more art than any other in the world. Because the palazzo faces the river, there are no buildings in front, maximizing natural light.
The first and largest bedroom opens onto the entry (with door) and also onto the living room (with door). A rich color palette of dusty salmon and ivory in the fabrics extends to antique bird prints on the walls. There is a queen sized bed, armoire, bureau and a view!
In the living room there is a sofa and three upholstered chairs. The dining table, also located here seats up to eight.
Opposite the living room is a well equipped and light-filled kitchen, with a breakfast table. The kitchen is fully equipped; it has a low counter that can be used as a breakfast table for two.
Along the central hallway are two more bedrooms and two bathrooms. The two large bedrooms share the large bath off this hallways where there is a shower over tub. The kitchen window has a nice view uphill of rooftops, the hills and sky.
The master and second bedroom each have king sized bed that can be split to form two singles with advance arrangement. The third bedroom, with two narrower single beds that can be merged to form a queen bed, has an en-suite bathroom with shower. It overlooks Via dei Bardi and terracotta rooftops.

Our Guest Reviews
Gorgeous apartment with great views of Arno. Close to everything, but quiet enough to rest. Only issue was very uncomfortable pillows in all bedrooms.
[Thank you Julie, we are sorry you found the pillows to be uncomfortable. The Italy Perfect Team]
Beautiful place, amazing views and outstanding location
The apartment we rented from Italy Perfect was just that — perfect. Beautiful place, amazing views and outstanding location. Accessing the apartment was easy as we were met at the door and shown around. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and located in a wonderful part of the city. The building also had an incredibly helpful doorman (Paolo) who assisted us with everything we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Perfect Florence Location!
The gorgeous Vela apartment had my family feeling like royalty! Across the river from the Uffizi Gallery, the views were beautiful and we were close to everything we had planned - a cooking class (Eating Italy), a city tour (CrisRomanGuide), the Accademia, Ponte Vecchio shopping and watching the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo. We even caught the high speed train one day for a quick trip to Venice!
Well appointed and very comfortable, the Vela suited the five of us perfectly. Groceries, wine and gelato are a quick 3min walk around the corner, as well as numerous cafes! Having a washing machine and air conditioning during the July heat wave helped us all feel comfortable and relaxed after busy days of seeing the sights. We spent three weeks in Italy and our favorite accommodations were the ones booked through Lisa. I HIGHLY recommend this property and Italy Perfect!!!
[Thank you Jane, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
We were very pleased with the apartment; it was spacious and elegant
We were very pleased with the apartment; it was spacious and elegant with a magnificent view of the Arno River, Ponte Vecchio and the museums across the river. It was within easy walking distance of the major attractions and there were numerous restaurants in the area. They were good but it seems the quality of food seems to have gone down versus our earlier trip to Italy in the mid-80’s. That is not to say the food was bad, there just weren’t any “Ah-Ha” moments. Believe the food would have been better away from the cities.
There is an excellent grocery store within a few hundred meters of the apartment that we made good use of. Like the French, the Italians don’t seem to be much on breakfast.
Believe we hit the weather just right. A little later and things would have been uncomfortably warm.
Support staff in Florence was great! They were very cordial and helpful for the few requests we made. In fact, the same can be said of all the Italian people we ran into.
FYI, we had spent a week in Rome before taking the train to Florence. Many of the comments about Florence, especially the restaurants, held true there as well.
The only negative we had was our departure from the Florence Airport. No one seemed to be in charge. There were long lines that you really weren’t sure of whether you were in the right one or not. Quite frankly, it reminded us of our days living in the middle east. Guess the best take away is be sure to have plenty of time allocated to airport activities.
Best location, just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio
Best location, just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio on the Oltro Arno side. Apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Made extensive use of the kitchen due to convenient supermarket just two blocks away. Look forward to returning someday!
My family had an incredible vacation.
We had an excellent stay. The location of the apartment was the best in the city and the views were unforgettable. Italy Perfect also did an excellent job with reminders and prep for the stay. My family had an incredible vacation.
Perfect Apartment/Perfect Weather
We could not have been happier with the location, size, or amenities the Vela provided. We took advantage of having provisions in the apartment when we arrived as we knew we would be tired and had quests arriving the next day. It's great to be able to walk into the apartment and to be able to open a bottle of wine and have some bread and cheese while looking out at the Arno. With the exception of some pesky mosquitoes we had no issues at all.
The greeter and building staff were extremely kind and helpful.
If you will be in Firenze long enough - seriously consider joining the Friends of the Uffizi (Amici Degli Uffizi) it provides unlimited visits to many of the major museums with no reservations necessary and much shorter lines.
Although the location is outstanding, remember the parking and driving restrictions quests and friends will have to deal with.
We strongly recommend both Italy Perfect and the Vela apartment.
The location was perfect for our family, the city is amazing. Italy Perfect helped us to create our own calendar -- which was magnificent (tour guide, art classes and other suggestions). The apartment was super clean and everything worked perfectly. Anything we needed was available and done. We want to go back!!!!!
