My husband and I stayed in the Diana for one week and considered never leaving.
The huge door on the street to the apartment foyer is open during the day where Massimo, the friendly, helpful, charming doorman, greets you from about nine to five. He helped with our luggage and oriented us on how to use the impressively quiet elevator. His presence was very comforting and personalized the building.
The door to the Diana apartment opens to a large, beautifully decorated foyer. We were pinching ourselves as our lovely, spirited greeter, Christiana, led us inside just the foyer. The WOW factor set in immediately as she guided us into the large, perfectly decorated living room. Views of the San Gaetano church directly across the street will knock your socks off. The large windows put you eye level with the church’s beautiful structure and sculptures. Just past this magnificent creation you see Il Duomo and Giotto tower. You will be compelled to stare out the windows in amazement.
The two large bathrooms, one en suite, are perfect. The en suite features a beautiful walk-in shower; the second offers a tub and hand-held showerhead. Each had great storage space, towel heaters, and perfectly working toilets. There was never an issue with water pressure or temperature. Couldn’t have been more confortable.
Just off the bedroom is a large walk-in closet that easily accommodated the clothes we brought plus the leather jackets, scarves, etc., we bought in Florence.
The spacious, nicely appointed bedroom features a very comfortable bed and more windows that overlook the street’s charm and beauty. There is zero noise. Slept very well. There was just the two of us, but, if needed, I believe the living-room couch opens up to accommodate more travelers.
The kitchen is just fine. Though it’s possible, I wouldn’t want to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for two-dozen in it, but we cooked breakfasts for our two friends in Italy without bumping into anything. Never made dinners; they were always at one of the nearby delicious restaurants. We came to eat, not cook, but Diana’s comfortably equipped kitchen offers anything a working kitchen needs.
The washer and dryer are hidden in the Foyer. Many apartments don’t offer a dryer so we really appreciated having one. The machines perform, but they take much longer than our US counterparts. Just be sure to ask your greeter how the combo works. And be patient.
The Diana is on a clean, beautiful street, conveniently located close to everything you want to see. Five minutes or an hour and five minutes, it was a pleasure to walk everywhere from the apartment. Taxis can be found a few feet away from the front door, but we never used one. We would leave at noon and often not return until after dark at ten or eleven. It was sheer joy to end the long day back in the wonderful Diana.
Our greeter, Christiana, was helpful and informative. She collected museum passes for us before we arrived and taught us how to make Italian coffee.
We highly recommend Italy Perfect and have referred many to the web site. If you want to stay in an Italy perfect location, in an Italy perfect apartment, Diana is your choice.
