A short distance from the Arno river, located on the Piazza Antinori, the elegant Caterina enjoys a large and comfortable living and dining room with dramatic views of San Gaetano church.
A gracious luxury apartment in the finest part of central Florence with all amenities and a very nice view.
Piazza Antinori is known as the center of the most elegant part of Florence. Fine shops and a new pedestrian area make strolling to view the sights and the shops a delight. On the piazza is the San Gaetano church that is an unusual baroque style for Florence with predominately renaissance and older romanesque style for its churches. The exterior features lovely sculptural statues and details such as the Medici family crest that can be seen from the apartment. Interesting that it adheres to a renaissance convention of simple colors, just white and tan.
The building has retained a clean and simple aspect that is reminiscent of the Renaissance period when it was first built. Renovated over the centuries, the building acquired its present appearance in the mid 1700s.
The palazzo has a doorman during businss hours and several other vacation rentals, which you can view by clicking the green Units tab above, so a good place for a family get-together in the center of Florence.
The apartment has an enormous living room overlooking the famous San Gaetano church. Enter through a spacious foyer with trompe l`oeil marbelizing and fine antique furnishings.
There is comfortable seating for all in the large living and dining room with two sofas and two arm chairs. Two large windows face San Gaetano and its sculptural decorations. Enjoy the sophisticated palette of soft yellow with green and rust highlights. The ceiling is, itself, a work of art with 18th centry plaster decorative work. On the walls are large chinoiserie panels and prints of Medici gardens. There is a digital television with satellite reception for a few English-language channels.
The kitchen is small but is bright with a window that overlooks the church. It has a ledge that is good prep space or a place to perch with a cup of coffee. There is a 4-burner gas stove, oven, fridge/freezer, crockery, dishwasher and toaster. Time in the kitchen is enhanced with a straight-on view of the Medici crest on the church.

The second bedroom with pale yellow walls, is accessed off the entry. It has two single beds that can be joined to form a king and two armchairs.

Our Guest Reviews
Italy Perfect = A Perfect Stay in Italy
Caterina was practically perfect for us in every way. The building is a lovely restored palazzo in an upscale area with a secure entryway and doorman. While the location is extremely central, it is a bit less hectic than nearby streets, as it is surrounded by several luxury retailers and a few posh cafes and restaurants, but it is still an easy stroll from all the sights, sounds, museums, shopping (and crowds) of the centro historico. The apartment is up two floors on a stately wide red-carpeted stone staircase, and there is an old-style but perfectly useable elevator that goes right from the cool marble lobby to the landing outside the apartment. The air conditioning in the apartment was absolutely excellent and kept us cool even in a July heatwave. The photos on the website are accurate, with the same decor, furnishings and views as shown. The high ceilinged living room with two tall double windows that open onto a spectacular view of the baroque church across the way is a pleasurable space to relax and socialize, with plenty of high quality seating (well padded sofa, loveseat and two nice armchairs) and a useful large coffee table. There is a large television in the living area with the usual Italian channels, along with a selection of international news channels in various languages. A small dining table in the living area and a desk in the front bedroom provide good spots to work on a laptop. The kitchen is small but functional and well stocked with cutlery, glassware, dishes and basic cookware. There are nice restaurants in walking distance, and the Deliveroo and Glovo options included some high quality choices. The windows have solid wooden shutters which can be closed to reduce any street noise for light sleepers. Because the small piazza in front of the building is in the ZTL (only taxis and cars with permits) there is never much traffic so it is an easy spot for taxi pick up and drop off (these can be called by phone or from an app such as "it Taxi"). The apartment was clean and the maid service was very good. WiFi was good. Italy Perfect was an excellent agency: they were easy to reach with any questions, responsive and helpful, organized and professional. The driver they arranged for us for a group transfer to Rome (Luca) was wonderful, with an immaculate vehicle that arrived on time and carried us and our luggage to our destination in good comfort. I would not hesitate to rent with Italy Perfect again.

A beautiful stay!
Our apartment in Florence was wonderful. It had 2 on suites and was very accommodating,
We especially loved the location of the apartment!
All was great!
Rooms with a view!
This is a fabulous place to stay in Florence!! I want to go back already! Excellent views of the Duomo and city.
Location is within walking distance to everything. Staying on the "Rodeo Drive" of Florence was comfortable and glamorous and active enough so that you feel part of the city without too much disturbance. Easy grocery not too far walking....everything easy. The apartment itself was well appointed, comfortable and roomy. Loved the large windows and light.
Only down side was the outside spotlight like fixture that was right outside of the windows and not quite eliminated by the curtains at night.
I had a great stay.....everyone affiliated with this apartment was polite, helpful, timely and I definitely would recommend this accommodation and Italy Perfect.
[Thank you so much! Sorry to hear about the spotlight, wish you had mentioned to the manager to have it immediately fixed. The Italy Perfect Team]
Wonderful apartment and location
This apartment was perfectly located: a quiet area very close to all the main attractions. The apartment was very spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. The bathrooms were spacious (the master bath is really nice) and the amount of storage in each room was beyond what we usually expect. The kitchen was large and well appointed - certainly could have cooked large meals in there (but with the Mercato Centrale just a few blocks away, you could just pick up great meals to enjoy in the apartment). Massimiliano (the doorman) was gracious and warm, the building was extremely secure, and it was a pleasure to be greeted by the peace of Piazza Antinori (not to mention the great coffee shop a block away) each morning. We would recommend this apartment (and return) in a heartbeat.
Wonderfully relaxing experience
We spent 4 weeks in the "Caterina" unit and had a delightful time. The location could not have been better with proximity to the Duomo and the train station practically on our doorstep. The unit was well maintained, quiet and secure. Having the management office on site was a great assistance for any needs during our stay. I cannot emphasize enough that clients should read carefully your materials before arrival. They are packed with useful information on electrical issues in Italy, washing machine operation, cell phone usage etc. We did not have any problems but I could well imagine how things could arise. We did find it useful to take several cell phones and devote one with an Italian Sim card which we easily purchased in Florence. Your suggestions on restaurants were spot on too.
All in all, hats off you Pat for orchestrating an excellent experience. We look forward to doing this again with your assistance!
[Thank you so much for enjoying your stay. Also on the hints on reading the advance information. It was a delight to work with you and we look forward to your return! The Italy Perfect Team]
