If you hired a driver, limo-service, or taxi then they took care of it. If you rented a car, then you should check with your rental company.

Your apartment is right on the line. Everything from your apartment towards the city center is ZTL.

Only in for 1 hr before returning car to car hire (just outside RTL). Have tried to contact owner of room we stayed in -but no luck -do you have an email address for the authorities we can send our car details to -so we can let them know and hopefully avoid the fine and the additional charge our car hire company will apply. Many thanks

Also something that can give me directions from place to place with a setting that says “avoid ZTLs” or something similar. Does this exist in app form?

I am staying in Florence at Piazza Beccaria 4, Firenze, Toscana 50121, Italy — can you tell me if this is within the ZTL for Florence or not? Will I be able to drive to this location?

After researching I saw they were beyond the legal law of time allowed to notify us. I wrote them and told them. Now they have a USA collection agency pursuing it. I am hiring an Italian lawyer. It’s just wrong. The rental car company also has fine print – you may include this in the blog. If you get a ticket, the gov contacts the rental car company for your info. Then the rental co charges your card on file a hefty fee for providing your address to the gov. Such a racket!!
