Interior
In an 18th century building in Canareggio, the inviting apartment is on the third floor American with no elevator. It is easy to reach from the usual starting points in Venice by foot or vaporetto (water bus). And it is also a nice walk to the famous sites of the city.
The Grazie apartment is spacious and welcoming. The open living room has two large windows overlooking Ponte Maddalena. Inside, between the windows, is a large, handsome bureau. When you have a chance to settle into the apartment, you'll find charming small decorative touches around the apartment. The floor is terrazzo a marble conglomerate covered, cool in the summer, carpeted in the winter.
A dining table for four separates the living room area from the large kitchenette and serves for additional preparation space. The kitchen has a four burner stove top, electric oven and small refrigerator as well as plenty of cabinets and space for dishes, pots, pans and preparation items that are there for your use.
The bedroom, also large and luminous with a view of the Maddalena canal, is charmingly old fashioned and romantic. The head and foot boards are beautiful antiques that have been joined to accommodate a bed composed of two twin mattresses side by side that, together, are almost as wide as a king.
The large bathroom has a new, modern shower as well as a washing machine. A clothes line is just outside the windows. The bathroom overlooks the Maddalena canal that hosts smaller boats. You can watch the boats go by as you brush your teeth.

- The Canareggio area is a neighborhood of its own worth exploring.
- The apartment has a homey Italian character.
- In Venice, you do not hear car and Vespa traffic, but boats will pass by on the canal under your windows and people will talk to each other while crossing the nearby bridge. It will not be silent.
- The owner lives next door and does not intrude on his guests but also is happy to help if you need it. He has a little terrier dog and smokes.

This is an elegant apartment, well decorated, with a fine kitchen and bathroom as well as a large, comfortable bed. For a trip to Venice from September to May, this would certainly be ideal. For the summer, though, the apartment is rather uncomfortable. The only way to get air movement is to have the windows open, but the location is such that there are always people outside at two nearby bars until well into the small hours of the morning. So one can have a quiet night at the expense of it being dreadfully hot, or one can have a somewhat less hot, but quite noisy night. I can only say positive things about the Italy Perfect people, and would recommend any property managed by this company very highly because of their prompt, friendly, and attentive service. |

Our 4 week stay in the Grazie apt. was truly a wonderful experience! The apt. is extremely comfortable, inviting, immaculate, private, and includes everything you might need to make your stay PERFECT. The location is the best and offers canal, neighborhood, big windows, cool breezes, shopping, history, and access to the train station and closeby transportation of every kind. Just a short distance to the grand canal - what fun! Our contact was always available for questions and help if needed. We lived a Venitian life for 4 weeks in this fabulous environment. Alas, the only problem was leaving our little Italian world. But we resolve to come again! Grazie! |

On our arrival from the airport, Evelyn met us at the nearby vaporetto stop and got us to our apartment in the simplest way possible. She also devised a perfect plan to get us to the airport very early in the morning of our departure, at no additional expense to us. She was helpful, warm and amazingly efficient. The location of the apartment itself was perfectly situated for our needs. The rooms were beautiful, very spacious and comfortable, with a modern kitchen and bathroom, and full of light. We were able to watch all the neighborhood activity in the street below, as well as on the bridge and the canal, from our windows, yet the rooms were amazingly quiet. Our landlord, Beppi, was gracious and friendly the few times we encountered him. We found a great restaurant, Da Poggi, right across the street and dined there three or four times during our stay. The next time we vacation in Venice, we will certainly try to book the Grazie again. |
