Savor the best of historic Rome at the inviting Archetto apartment. The Archetto apartment offers comfort and cheeriness, providing a relaxing refuge in the bustling center of Rome. Wonderful location, bright top-floor position, roominess and good layout. To top it off, it has both a sunny terrace plus a sweet balcony. The apartment is as charming as you can imagine.
Fantastic - clean, very well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, bright and cheery, plenty of room, extremely quiet, plenty of places to put your things after unpacking, very nice living room, easy to relax here.
A trip to Rome would not be complete without a stop at the Trevi Fountain to toss in three coins and make a wish. One of Rome`s legends, memoralized in the 1954 classic movie Three Coins in the Foutain, it`s a breathtaking site that never fails to impress, no matter how many times you see it. You`ll be pleased to find a real Roman neighborhood thriving within a 2-minute walk just behind the Piazza di Trevi. Good bakeries, cafes, fresh fruit and vegetable stands, pizzerie, one of Rome`s most prized geletaria`s and handy access to public transportation are just some of the great aspects of this location.
This apartment is in a perfect location close to the fountain of Trevi and the Spanish steps. There are restaurants and shops abound all within walking distance.
The apartment is located on the top floor of a small building on a narrow side-street only a 2-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. You`ll be pleased with your unique advantage: you can pop `round during the early morning hours to get your morning bread or pastries at our favorite neighborhood bakery just off the Piazza di Trevi, and you`ll find that you have the entire piazza nearly to yourself. You might see a lone street sweeper and a few other early birds, but it`s a special time to take in Rome`s largest baroque fountain, which marks the ending of ancient Rome`s Aqua Vergine aqueduct.
Across the street from the Archetto building is the North American chapter of the Pontifical Gregorian University, founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola over 450 years ago. You`ll see priests coming and going in the street and at neighborhood restaurants, and they are welcome neighbors. The views of this pale ochre building has a pleasing geometry, characteristic roof tiles and simple, classic Italian textures.
Downstairs is a favorite neighborhood restaurant, Dell`Archetto, with reasonable prices on an impressive variety of pasta and pizza. While there are many other good restaurants to choose from you`ll probably find yourself returning to Dell`Archetto again and again, the food is good and it`s just so easy to go downstairs if you are tired from a full day of sightseeing.
The music of the city can be heard in many aspects of this location: the church bells ringing, the seagulls calling, a stray tune of opera playing in a neighbor`s apartment, the whir at sunset as flocks of swallows soar overhead, choirs in the churches and whistling workmen.
The apartment building is small and nicely maintained, it has an elevator. Downstairs is a favorite neighborhood restaurant, Dell`Archetto, with reasonable prices on an amazing variety of pasta and pizza. While there are many other good restaurants to choose from you`ll probably find yourself returning to Dell`Archetto again and again, the food is good and it`s just so easy to go downstairs if you are tired from a full day of sightseeing.
With a coveted, sunny top-floor position the Archetto apartment delights with charm and comfort. The roomy living room is furnished with a queen size sofa bed and a foldaway single hassock bed. There is a large window overlooking the street, five floors below. The room`s decor inspiration is the fresco painting over the sofa, painted in a bouquet of springtime colors. Bookshelves along the opposite wall hold light reading material, guidebooks, a few English language DVD`s, remote controls, stereo, and flat screen TV. An upholstered chair, carved wooden armchair and coffee table complete the room. It`s the perfect spot to while away an afternoon reading, napping on the sofa or enjoying cocktails before heading out to the bounty of wonderful restaurants that Rome has to offer. Opening onto the living room is the dining area which seats four. It has French doors two steps up leading out to a Juliette balcony, also overlooking the street down below. A bonus feature is that the living room and dining room windows of the Archetto apartment are completely private, no one can see in. Sit on the little balcony and watch the world go by, it never fails to entertain. Also on the balcony is a small storage closet containing cleaning supplies, you`ll find a collapsable laundry drying rack out here too.
The entry area has an antique bureau, good for clothing storage for guests using the sofa bed, a handy coat rack, and a leather campaign chair, providing a cozy den-like reading area.
The bedroom and kitchen are towards the back of the apartment and are also accessed off the entryway.
The kitchen is compact, best for one cook at a time, it features a large refrigerator with separate freezer section, four-burner gas stove, combination microwave/convection oven, drip and espresso coffee pots, electric tea kettle, toaster. No dishwasher or regular oven.
We saved the best for last! Accessed from the kitchen is the jewel of the apartment, the sunny terrace which will be your outdoor living and dining room during Rome`s good weather which, compared to many places in the world, can cover six months of the year. The terrace has a small dining table and two chairs. Two more chairs from the front balcony can be moved to the terrace for four person dining, although the table is small for four people. It is a perfect, peaceful spot for morning coffee, alfresco lunches or toasting the sunset during your Roman holiday.
All the information provided before the trip was so useful for booking driver from the airport and how to use all the appliances at the apartment plus much more.
The bedroom has interior facing windows, it overlooks the backs of other buildings across the way, a huge bonus in the bustling center of Rome. It is a very quiet bedroom, although with the windows open you may hear the sound of plates clattering at night in the kitchen of the restaurant on the ground floor level in the building next door.
The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, two stairs up from the bedroom. Guests with mobility issues take note. The bathroom was completely remodeled in 2011, with aquamarine tiles, a large glassed-in rainfall shower, toilet and sink.

Great place to stay!
My husband and I stayed at the Archetto apartment in May 2016 for six days and had a fabulous time. The apartment's location is great, right in the middle of everything, around a couple of corners from the Trevi Fountain. The apartment had everything we needed or wanted during our stay in Rome. The kitchen was well stocked and the big refrigerator was nice. Having a washing machine was great and we used it most days. It is small and takes a long time by American standards, but it functions fine. We laid the clothes out on the drying rack on the terrace and stuff dried by the end of the day. The bed was very comfortable, even to a person with fibromyalgia.
For those who are gluten sensitive or celiac, the restaurant at street level right below the apartment does have gluten free pasta and can accommodate you. This was handy a couple of times when we were really hungry and ready to eat.
There is a supermarket several blocks from the apartment (the name is Coop, I think) that we bought stuff at several times. They do have some gluten free foods.
We booked Stefano (recommended by Italy Perfect) to pick us up at the airport and give us an overview tour of Rome. It was very good and we got to see some sights not in the city center we wouldn't have gotten to see otherwise. It was nice because he coordinated with Rosie, the woman who we needed to meet at the apartment. Given how tired we were after flying overnight and landing at 8 am, this was really nice. He also got us to and from the cruise ship port after we left the apartment. We recommend him.

Perfect apartment in a perfect location
This was the perfect apartment in a perfect location that put us within walking distance of nearly everything we wanted to do or see. The apartment has plenty of room and is comfortable and bright. It felt like home. We were sorry leave at the end of our stay, and homesick for it afterwards. The bed was comfortable (never got up with a backache), the kitchen just right, and the terrace and front balcony were a real pleasure. The apartment was by an ecclesiastical college, so priests and nuns walked by all day, making us feel like members of a neighborhood. The Trevi Fountain was a 3-minute walk. We took Lisa and Pat's suggestion and walked over to the fountain early in the morning where we had the fountain to ourselves while the sun rose over the buildings.
Here are some tips and suggestions. Car service: We hired Rocco's car service to get from the airport to the apartment and, later in the month, to pick us up from the train station and take us to the airport. We can't recommend Rocco and his driver highly enough. They were on-time, easy to get hold of, and helped us during a snafu in our travel plans - above and beyond what they needed to do. Rocco's phone and email are listed in the ItalyPerfect material on Rome. Guides: Most of what we saw and did we did on our own, but we decided to have guides for St. Peters and the Vatican Museum, and for the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Our guide for the Vatican was Christina, listed in the ItalyPerfect material, who was really wonderful. We contacted her via email. She came by the apartment, then we went to the Vatican together. We toured the Colosseum, etc., with Walks of Italy. You can book their tours on the Internet. Our guide was a young archaeology student who was terrific. Things to see: As others have said, the Borghese Gallery was spectacular. The Roman ruins at night, when they are lit, are really memorable. We spent a lot of our time wandering through all the beautiful squares, and sat around drinking coffee and watching people go by. We went to the Palazzo Delia Pamfilij, another 3 minute walk from the apartment, on our first day, which provided a foundation for understanding 15th - 17th century art that was useful through the rest of our trip. The Pamfilij is a really fine museum. R estaurants: As others have said, the Archetta restaurant below the apartment was perfect for informal meals and when we were too tired to go out or to cook. We had a really special meal at Pierluigi's at Piazza Dè Ricci. We also liked Picolo Arancio, which was a very short walk on the other side of the Trevi. We went to a deli on the Via de Lavatore for supplies for lunches and some dinners. This is on the other side of the fountain, too. The food is so good in Italy! Trains: We took the high speed Freccia trains to Florence and Venice, then back to Rome, and thought they were the way to go. On time, clean, reliable, and fast.
ItalyPerfect: We are sorry we didn't know about ItalyPerfect before now. Lisa and Pat are AMAZING. Responsive, helpful, utterly reliable. As others have noted, the packet of information they provide to you before your trip is nothing short of excellent. Please read what they provide - it gives you all the information you need on basics, so that you can enjoy your trip and not sweat the small stuff. (In an ItalyPerfect post, Lisa said she wears a black quilted coat during the colder months just like Roman women. She's right about that. We met Lisa and Pat while in Rome, where they were inspecting new properties, and found them to be lovely, kind, and full of energy. I cannot recommend them, and ItalyPerfect, highly enough.
The apartment was very nice
The apartment was very nice and as described and very, very well located. Rosie was just lovely and as helpful as can be. Rocco's limousine service was beyond reproach. Cleaning service excellent
Rome was everything I expected and more. Our stay at Archetto was perfect. Right in the heart of everything. The apartment was perfect. It was nice to sit on the decks when you wanted to relax from all the site seeing. We recommend this apartment for your visit.

Enjoyed our stay
The apartment in Rome was very nice, comfortable bed, good location for sightseeing, we enjoyed the expresso maker each morning and figured out adding hot water to make it a lower octane. Plenty of storage for personal items. Nice to be able to wash clothes Be aware no dryer, so bring easy to dry items. Would definitely recommend .
Liked De Renzos(spelling?) on the square in front of Pantheon. Lasagne excellent. Also stellar and reasonable for the quality Marscapone near Museum Borghese.
Wish they had more American channels on the tv
The shower drains very slowly.
[Thank you so much for your helpful review and restaurant recommendations. Shower drain has been dealt with. The Italy Perfect Team]
“Archetto” is a wonderful hideaway in the middle of Rome’s ancient city. It is perfectly located within walking distance of most of Rome’s major attractions. The apartment is comfortable, well equipped and secure. There can be a little noise from the street, but that is Rome. There are innumerable eating places within a short walk - we were spoilt for choice. Rosie met us at the apartment and was both informative and helpful. Importantly, Rosie was easily to contact, and made our arrival and departure very easy. I would be more than happy to stay in this apartment and to use Italy Perfect again. [We would also be happy to welcome you again! The Italy Perfect Team]
This apartment was beyond our expectations.
Rosie, our host: She was delightful, attentive, wanted to be sure we had everyting we needed, did a splendid job of explaining every area of the apartment, was available, always on time and simply lovely.
The Apartment: Fantastic - clean, very well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, bright and cheery, plenty of room, extremely quiet, plenty of places to put your things after unpacking, very nice living room, easy to relax here.
Location: Great - short walking distance to the Victor Emanual monument which is where many of the buses and cab stands are located. It is fairly close to Trevi Fountain, but when we were there from 8-16-15 to -8-20-15, there was a major renovation of the Fountain and it was closed off. Have seen it in years past and it is magnificant. Spanish steps always worth a walk or bus ride. Don't miss the Borghese Gallery - it is beautiful and the setting is in
a gigantic park filled with mature trees - the park is vast, like a magical forest -worth going for a picnic.
Restaurants: Da Francesco is a great trattoria and we ate there 3 times. Not touristy. La Fontana di Venere- off the beaten track where a lot of locals hang out. Sant'Eustachio il Caffe is the incredible coffee house where all the locals go. They are efficient, brew great coffee - we went there at least once a day. Archimede Sant'Eustachio ristorante - can sit in or outside - they are efficient, professional and deliver a true gastronomical marriage of wonderful dishes.
There are many kinds of gelaterias - not all are created equal with fresh ingredients. One of the best right by the Pantheon is : Cremeria Monteforte.
Pat and Lisa of Italy Perfect: They are nothing short of amazing! These gals were our ticket to ride in terms of ideas, organizational skills, and the amazing packet of information and time saving tips. They recommened a driver from the train station that was the best - on time and a good driver.Pat and Lisa answered every email I sent them - and quickly. When our flight got canceled going to Italy, they intervened to let the host and driver know immediately. They did so many other things to make our stay just wonderful - everyone should have a Pat and Lisa before departing anywhere!
Tip: Don't miss hanging out at Piazza Navona in the evening with all the artists, musicians & all kinds of things going on. It's a treat.
[You really know how to enjoy a place and how to write about it! Thank you for the restaurants, too. Haven't been to some of them. The Italy Perfect team]
Spacious, comfortable, well appointed and perfect location!
We really enjoyed Archetto as it was quite spacious for the two of us, air conditioned and perfectly located. Archetto street is a narrow side street away from major tourist and traffic noises, but walk 100 meters and your right in the middle of prime tourist region and not far from Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, The Forum. One surprise blessing was that right down in Archetto street below the apartment is an excellent and reasonable restaurant Spaghetteria L'Archetto (4-star on Tripadvisor), which is very popular with locals after work and later for dinner. Only a couple blocks walk to a grocery store for water, wine, cheese, etc. and breakfast foods which my wife enjoyed cooking in the small but fully equipped kitchen. The owners are very nice and thoroughly professional. Archetto is where we will stay on our next trip to Rome and we will use Italy Perfect for our trip to Venice next year.
Italian Adventure Rome
Archettto apartment was perfect with lots of room for two adults. Decorated beautifully with antique touches. Location was great for using the metro to the Vatican and Colesseum but took many walks to other sites. Restaurants lined the many nearby streets. Enjoyed Grill and Wine around the corner. Definitely recommend Italy Perfect and will book with them again. We even cooked some meals at home and our welcome basket was stocked with delightful goodies and we loved that special surprise. All the information provided before the trip was so useful for booking driver from the airport and how to use all the appliances at the apartment plus much more. Thank you to the whole team for a "perfect" holiday.

Archetto apartment, Rome
Archetto was perfect for our recent visit. We spent nearly three weeks in Rome, and found the apartment ideally suited to our comfort and convenience. The location is great, very close to the Trevi Fountain; we walked to most of the major tourist sites easily, and local markets and restaurants abound nearby. The apartment itself is comfortably and tastefully decorated, and the bedroom (located away from the street) was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The kitchen, while small, was more than adequate. Rosie, our greeter, could not have been more gracious and helpful in getting us oriented and settled. We appreciated the responsiveness of Italy Perfect in making all of the arrangements, and found their suggestions (car service, restaurants, sites) universally helpful. We can happily recommend this property for a Roman holiday.
