Tucked away on a quaint small street near the Trevi Fountain, Rome's historic sites are at your doorstep.

Savor the best of historic Rome at the inviting Archetto apartment. The Archetto apartment offers comfort and cheeriness, providing a relaxing refuge in the bustling center of Rome. Wonderful location, bright top-floor position, roominess and good layout. To top it off, it has both a sunny terrace plus a sweet balcony. The apartment is as charming as you can imagine.

Location

A trip to Rome would not be complete without a stop at the Trevi Fountain to toss in three coins and make a wish. One of Rome's legends, memoralized in the 1954 classic movie Three Coins in the Foutain, it's a breathtaking site that never fails to impress, no matter how many times you see it. You'll be pleased to find a real Roman neighborhood thriving within a 2-minute walk just behind the Piazza di Trevi. Good bakeries, cafes, fresh fruit and vegetable stands, pizzerie, one of Rome's most prized geletaria's and handy access to public transportation are just some of the great aspects of this location.

The apartment is located on the top floor of a small building on a narrow side-street only a 2-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. You'll be pleased with your unique advantage: you can pop 'round during the early morning hours to get your morning bread or pastries at our favorite neighborhood bakery just off the Piazza di Trevi, and you'll find that you have the entire piazza nearly to yourself. You might see a lone street sweeper and a few other early birds, but it's a special time to take in Rome's largest baroque fountain, which marks the ending of ancient Rome's Aqua Vergine aqueduct.

Across the street from the Archetto building is the North American chapter of the Pontifical Gregorian University, founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola over 450 years ago. You'll see priests coming and going in the street and at neighborhood restaurants, and they are welcome neighbors.  The views of this pale ochre building has a pleasing geometry, characteristic roof tiles and simple, classic Italian textures.

Downstairs is a favorite neighborhood restaurant, Dell'Archetto, with reasonable prices on an impressive variety of pasta and pizza. While there are many other good restaurants to choose from you'll probably find yourself returning to Dell'Archetto again and again, the food is good and it's just so easy to go downstairs if you are tired from a full day of sightseeing.

The music of the city can be heard in many aspects of this location: the church bells ringing, the seagulls calling, a stray tune of opera playing in a neighbor's apartment, the whir at sunset as flocks of swallows soar overhead, choirs in the churches and whistling workmen.

Exterior

The apartment building is small and nicely maintained, it has an elevator. Downstairs is a favorite neighborhood restaurant, Dell'Archetto, with reasonable prices on an amazing variety of pasta and pizza. While there are many other good restaurants to choose from you'll probably find yourself returning to Dell'Archetto again and again, the food is good and it's just so easy to go downstairs if you are tired from a full day of sightseeing.

Interior

With a coveted, sunny top-floor position the Archetto apartment delights with charm and comfort. The roomy living room is furnished with a queen size sofa bed and has a large window overlooking the street, five floors below. The room's decor inspiration is the fresco painting over the sofa, painted in a bouquet of springtime colors. Bookshelves along the opposite wall hold light reading material, guidebooks, a few English language DVD's, remote controls, stereo, and flat screen TV. An upholstered chair, carved wooden armchair and coffee table complete the room. It's the perfect spot to while away an afternoon reading, napping on the sofa or enjoying cocktails before heading out to the bounty of wonderful restaurants that Rome has to offer.

Opening onto the living room is the dining area which seats four. It has French doors two steps up leading out to a Juliette balcony, also overlooking the street down below. A bonus feature is that the living room and dining room windows of the Archetto apartment are completely private, no one can see in. Sit on the little balcony and watch the world go by, it never fails to entertain. Also on the balcony is a small storage closet containing cleaning supplies, you'll find a collapsable laundry drying rack out here too.

The entry area has an antique bureau, good for clothing storage for guests using the sofa bed, a handy coat rack, and a leather campaign chair, providing a cozy den-like reading area.

The bedroom and kitchen are towards the back of the apartment and are also accessed off the entryway. The bedroom has interior facing windows, it overlooks the backs of other buildings across the way, a huge bonus in the bustling center of Rome. It is a very quiet bedroom, although with the windows open you may hear the sound of plates clattering at night in the kitchen of the restaurant on the ground floor level in the building next door. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, two stairs up from the bedroom. Guests with mobility issues take note. The bathroom was completely remodeled in 2011, with aquamarine tiles, a large glassed-in rainfall shower, toilet and sink.

The kitchen is compact, best for one cook at a time, it features a large refrigerator with separate freezer section, four-burner gas stove, combination microwave/convection oven, drip and espresso coffee pots, electric tea kettle, toaster. No dishwasher or regular oven.

We saved the best for last! Accessed from the kitchen is the jewel of the apartment, the sunny terrace which will be your outdoor living and dining room during Rome's good weather which, compared to many places in the world, can cover six months of the year. The terrace has a small dining table and two chairs. Two more chairs from the front balcony can be moved to the terrace for four person dining, although the table is small for four people. It is a perfect, peaceful spot for morning coffee, alfresco lunches or toasting the sunset during your Roman holiday.

Home away from home May 2013

Spent time at archetto apt in April 2013 with hubby and teenage daughter. Wonderful, wonderful location. Close to everything and easy to get around Rome on foot. Comfy bedroom, nice living area and convenient dining area. Great to have washing machine, but wish we had a dryer. However a dry cleaner downstairs and next door. Many wonderful restaurants and plenty of shopping. Restaurant downstairs a little noisey, but because weather was cool in the evenings we were able to keep windows closed. If you are an EXTREMELY light sleeper this might become tiresome. After a few nights we were fine with noise and actually enjoyed hearing all the nightlife downstairs. Would definitely stay again when we find our travel takes us to beautiful Roma!!

ItalyPerfect was PERFECT. Recommending to all our fiy and friends!

Archetto May 2013

Loved it. Thanks to our greeter who had made sure that the apartment was very clean and well equipped. Location is fabulous, Trevi fountain, grocery stores, easy access to everything. One surprise for me was that they say double bed but the bed in the bedroom was actually a king size bed. The same for the pull out in the living room, maybe not king but definitely and oversized double [the bed & the sofa bed are Italian queen size which is 3" wider than a N. American queen - Italy Perfect]. There's a book in the apartment with recommendations from previous visitors and we took a tour of the coliseum with Brandi and it was fabulous. That book was quite helpful. One thing that is a small negative is the views aren't very good. The front balcony is quite close to the back of a building, so no view there. The back porch is small, we had breakfast out there every morning and really enjoyed it, but it's cramped. The bathroom is quite nice but it is off the main bedroom so if someone is staying in the front room, they have to go through the bedroom to use the facilities. There's a fair bit of room in the apartment and we enjoyed dinner at home one night a the table with the windows open and a couple bottles of wine and certainly didn't feel cramped. Enjoy!

Location location location! Apr 2013

Location location location!

The Archetto was very all about the location. We really enjoyed our daily pilgrimage to the Trevi Fountain, and to San Crispino- it was literally 2 minutes away! We could hear the church bells from the Pontifical college next door, every hour, which was quite transporting.

Rosie and Stefano were most helpful with our arrival and there were no issues with the apartment. It was simple, and the beds were comfortable.

Even within the very touristy area, we were able to find a couple of really good restaurants- Tamerici and Il Vineria Chianti, which we enjoyed a lot. And did I mention daily trips to San Crispino?!

Great Location Mar 2013

Archetto is the perfect apartment. Plenty of room, quiet and is in great shape. You can walk most of Rome from the location. Restaurants and shopping is right out the door. We enjoyed the restaurant Abruzzi (out the door turn right one block turn right again) good sea food. Abruzzi is one of Cardinal Doland 's favorites. We used" Walking Tours of Rome" for a couple private tours, they were excellent. This is the second time we have used Italy Perfect and I am sure we will use them again.

Terrific Time Mar 2013

This comes from Baltimore, where we are safely home. I want to thank you again for your services in providing the apartment at Archetto and everything that went with it. Despite days of rain, we had a terrific time in Rome, walked our feet sore, ate well, and always felt full of wonder and appreciation for the opportunity. We left aware of all we could not get to and hopeful to return some day.

Archetto is lovely! Feb 2013

The apartment on Archetto was a wonderful place to stay. It is light and spacious. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The location is central, making visiting various sites easy. The service from Italy Perfect was just that, perfect! They made arrival and departure very easy. We will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends.

Perfectly situated pied-à-terre Jan 2013

Achetto is perfectly situated for exploring central Rome, yet it is very peaceful and quiet. Outside is tourist central, inside is an oasis of calm - you can't really ask for a better combination.

A supermarket and various salumeria nearby makes taking care of breakfasts and lunches easy; good restaurants make the evening a treat.

Three Coins in a Fountain Dec 2012

The Archetto apartment is perfect for two people. It is very close to the Trevi Fountain and centrally located so you can walk everywhere in Rome. The restaurant downstairs is very good and we ate there a couple of times. We did have trouble getting an internet connection, and after a few tries, Rosie, our greeter was able to finally connect us a couple of days into the week. She did keep trying until she got it to work. Although we didn't have warm enough weather to use the terrace, it was very nice, as well as the balcony. The apartment was very cozy and efficient at the same time. I would recommend this apartment and Italy Perfect to a friend. [We have replaced the internet provider for better connectivity! Italy Perfect]

Great location! Nov 2012

The Archetto apartment was a comfortable and cosy place to rest while I was vacationing in Rome. The terrace and balcony were so perfect to have a morning coffee!

Walking to and from the apartment is such a pleasure, because it is located so close to the gorgeous Trevi Fountain and other monuments. Even the restaurant right downstairs is a real gem.

The greeter was quick to meet us when we arrived and she was brief, not chatty. It was very good timing.

Outstanding! Oct 2012

The Archetto apartment was everything we had hoped for and more. When the taxi pulled up to the door we were so happy about the location. We walked everywhere. Only caught a taxi once to go to the shopping outlets which were about 30min out of Rome, but worth it. The apartment was beautiful, our greeter was very kind and helpful and marked out our map to show us everything we needed. The restaurant downstairs is very nice and reasonably priced. Being so close to the Trevi Fountain was so much fun for the kids, especially going there early in the morning before anybody else got there. I should also mention Stefano, the driver italy perfect recommended. His car service was very professional, friendly and reliable. We would love to return to the Archetto, and would highly recommend Italy Perfect!

Wonderful apartment Sep 2012

We loved the Archetto apartment. It was light and airy and very comfortable. It is clearly 'downtown' Rome and comes with all of the good and not so good that living in downtown means -- noises etc., but we loved it. We walked everywhere (it's important to bring comfortable shoes) and found some excellent restaurants. Pat was very helpful when we couldn't get into the safe (that had our passports!) and Rosie helped with wifi. We would highly recommend the apartment and Italy Perfect.

Archetto Sep 2012

We arrived in Rome August 15th, in he middle of the hottest summer Italy has had in 50 years. The appartments was wonderful. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the bed room had died. Thankfully the a/c in the main room still worked so we were able to stay cool.

We contacted Pat and informed her about the a/c and she called me the next day informing us that as the weekend was coming up it was highly likely that it would not be repaired until the next week.

Pat told us that due to this they would like to move us to another appartment if that was ok. We were reluctant as the location of Archetto was amazing. We were 2 minutes from some of the best sights in Rome. Due to the heat we agreed, and the new appartment was also wonderful.

We cannot recommend Pat and her team enough. She definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. We will definitely be using them again.

Incredible Stay! Aug 2012

The Archetto apartment was perfect in so many ways. It was beautifully furnished and the location was wonderful! Rome is a beautiful city with so much to see. It was nice being so centrally located. We could walk to most of the famous sites. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. We looked forward to returning to Archetto after a long day of sight-seeing! Our biggest disappointment was not staying longer than 7 days in this beautiful apartment! We tossed our coins into the Trevi Fountain so if the legend is true, we will return to the Archetto apartment on our next trip to Rome!

Good place Aug 2012

The location is wonderful. Near all the "must see" places. Italy Perfect do a good job of making sure that it is comfortable and clean, and that the things you need are available.. Although small, the apartment works well, and we enjoyed our stay.

The restaurant owner downstairs is helpful. We found the food there quite good. The best quality food we found at La Sagrestia, Via del Seminario 89, the best of all the restaurants we tried, and probably one of the best anywhere in Rome.

The Internet at the apartment is slow and unreliable and causes frustration.

Ronald, Florida

Archetto is lovely Aug 2012

Archetto is very central to key sites, a few blocks from Trevi.

Apartment is lovely. Gorgeous living room, large rooms. Very clean.

Only negative was patio was not as pretty as pictured in pictures, overlooks buildings, not front street (patio in front was pretty full with stuff.)

Ristorante across street average food and great service.

Romantic cute block.

The Italy perfect staff was absolutely perfect, helpful advice makes getting an apartment through them very worth it - utilizing them makes your whole trip easier.

The Archetto apartment was great Jul 2012

The Archetto apartment was great: It was centrally located and really gave us the flavor of living in Rome! Our greeter Rosa was very helpful, and Stefano provided prompt and efficient airport transfers. The Archetto Spaghetteria downstairs had perfect spaghetti in myriad preparations and was a real convenience for takeout. We were regulars at San Crispino Gelateria!

I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect to anyone!

a perfect apartment Jul 2012

Ciao ! A few words to share with you a wonderful week in Rome. The apartment lived up to our (high) expectations. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the terrasse everyday for apero before dinner. The apartment is centrally located in Rome, and everything we visited was within a 30-45 minutes walking distance. Several good restaurants around. We moderately enjoyed the Archetto restaurant downstairs (unfriendly waiter, OK food), but we found several others nearby, much better (Baccano, Il Chianti, Osteria dell'Ingegno). For bread and pizza lovers, a 20 minutes walk to Forno Marco Roscioli in Campo dei Fiore is a must. For gelati, walk 10 min. to Giolitti, a world famous place (but good gelati are easy to find everywhere).

Rosie our greeter was wonderful, on time and was able to make last minute modifications to her schedule for us.

I would definitely recommend this apartment.

My family and I had the best time ever. Jun 2012

My family and I had the best time ever. The Archetto was located in walking distance of many sites and we walked everywhere. We enjoyed seeking new places to see, eat, or shop. The Rome guides books in the apartment were very helpful, as well as Rosa our hostess and Stephano our cabby. We will definitely stay again and give it a 10.

This one bedroom apartment was a great home in Rome for two people. Jun 2012

This one bedroom apartment was a great home in Rome for two people. The location was ideal for many reasons. First, proximity to the Trevi fountain, Via Frattina shopping district, Spanish steps shopping district, terrific dining and a grocery store. Second, the kitchen was well-appointed and the washer came in very handy every day. Third, everyone with whom we interacted to arrange arrival and departure were helpful. Fourth, the apartment was spacious and included free WiFi. A result of this experience I have recommended Italy Perfect to friends who are planning trips to Italy. Tip for next visitors: bring a couple of really good maps of Rome. We had three maps (one from a tour book, one from a city map vendor, and a GPS map on a tablet) and needed each one because some streets were not shown on one map or another.

We have enjoyed out stay at L’Archetto.  This lovely apartment met our travel needs and we will have fond memories of our stay.

After long tours and walks each day we looked forward to a cool drink and the breezes coming in through the windows.  It has been a treat to watch the light change in the evening and contemplate our next outing in Rome.

If you are looking for a great gelato you MUST go to Gelato dei Gracchi near the Vatican and Lepanto Metro stop=via del Gracchi near via M.A. Colonna.  Best pistachio flavor in town.  For gelato by Claudio Torce- 50 flavors and all of them delicious. Via del Scrofa to via del Arancio near Piazza Monte D’Oro on a little side street with a produce market and café.  For a great lunch buffet with seafood and a Coliseum view go to Hosteria Nerone.  Sweet people great food and they comped us limoncello shots.

L'Archetto Jun 2012

Great apartment with space, civilised, quiet (we were glad the bedroom was on the back since there is a restaurant almost immediately below on the front).

Liked being on fourth floor (with lift!) and having the terrace on the back and tiny balcony on the front.

The area is very convenient for all the sights. The nearby supermarkets are not wonderful so it is worth going to the fruit and veg stall in Piazza (um, can't remember name but it is mentioned in the guide in the apartment) and to the larger supermarket in via del Gesu.

The driver you recommended was also good - a treat to be driven into the centre.

Great location to see Roma May 2012

Archetto apartment was our second apartment rental in Rome and the location is great. Many great restaurants and attractions are within a 5 minute walk. Don't miss the Colonna Gallery and Isabella apartment tours on Saturday.

Compared to our last rental agency, Italy Perfect was very professional and well organized. The only problem we had was internet access, but that was addressed promptly and we had similar problems in the first rental, but not nearly so well addressed.

We chose Italy Perfect because of our outstanding experiences with Paris Perfect and clearly the approaches are very similar.

We’ve had a wonderful week!!! Apr 2012

From Guestbook:

The food, sights and especially the gelato were too much for words.  This was out first time to visit Rome but hopefully not our last.  We loved being in the apartment it’s so nice and being close enough to walk to the Vatican, Spanish steps, Patheon, Coliseum and last but not least the Trevi Fountain.  We went everyday and met some new friends mot of the time.  Some of the sights (The Vatican the farthest) were a good walk but we enjoyed the exercise.

We enjoyed out patio for coffee and the dinning room during the evening.  The Rome guides were very helpful!!

PS  We hope to stay here or one of the other Italy Perfect Apt.

L'archetto Flat Apr 2012

We enjoyed our stay at this flat, it was centrally located to all major tourist attractions, well appointed, clean and aesthetically pleasing.

I liked our small balcony and terrace.

The Spaghetteria and pizzeria L'archetto is in the same building owned by a Spanish expat is do convenient when too tired to venture out to eat , is always buzzing with people and the food is ok.

Rosie our greeter was most helpful showing us how everything worked.

In will definitely will use Italy perfect again if we go back to Italy, and will recommend it to friends.

The apartment is Great! Mar 2012

From Guestbook: Thanks to Lisa  & Rosie for making our stay a very easy and relaxing stay and making us fell like the locals.  If you go to “Campo fiere” do not miss all the alleyways far from the crowds.  There you will find local artisan .  Like the place we bought a handmade belt, pottery artisans a clock repair shop to say the least seeing all the everyday life of the locals is my favorite part of the trips.

Do not miss St. Peter’s Cathedral it is beautiful.  Lov all the nuns and priests driving on line at gelato shop.  Just love it here.

We are sorry to say goodbye to Rome, the Archetto flat and all the food.  We have truly enjoyed our short stay after our stay in Florence and Orvieto.

We had some wonderful meals at the Enoteca Antica (a few blocks away) the restaurant below was a great place to eat when you are tired or just want order “andare alimentare” plus the owner speaks Spanish so I got to practice my native tongue.

The cheese store neat Trevi fountain was a good place to order cheeses, wine, salami and practice my italiano.

We had a wonderful time this week in this lovely spot. Mar 2012

The neighborhood is the perfect mix of hectic and quiet and so walkable to everything.

We adored San Crispino, Il Chanti right by the fountain, is a terrific spot for dinner.  We leave with a suitcase full of Italian breakfast cereal and cookies to try to keep the memories alive longer.

Ciao!

Great location and furnished nicely. Mar 2012

With our many stays in Rome this had to be the most interesting with the changes in weather. The first part of the month came with Rome's first snowfall in 28 years. Now that we are learning the temperatures we're in the mid 70's!

Archetto was a perfect place to return to after a busy day of language school, just far enough away from the crowds of tourists at the Treve Fountain. We enjoyed talking with the proprietor of the restaurant downstairs and eating there as well.

Carnival was the highlight of our stay with the street artists special sweets and culminating with the festivities on Fat Tuesday . Fireworks and an equestrian show.

Great location and furnished nicely. The bathroom was spacious and attractive. The internet would be inconsistent at times but appreciated the DVD player and CD player in Archetto that was lacking in Paaolina apartment.

A fabulous stay in an incredible city in a jewel of a place.

The location was awesome Jan 2012

We had a fantastic time. We were very happy with the apartment and Stefano and the greeter were very flexible and helpful. The location was awesome. We hope to come back someday.  We really just scratched the surface.  Also the weather was outstanding.  I was expecting much cooler temps. Thank you for your help prior to the trip. It was reassuring to talk with you. Perhaps if we are fortunate enough to return, we will be in touch to rent another apartment.

From Guestbook: We had a delightful time in Rome and in this lovely apartment The bed and pull out couch were very comfortable. Everything we needed was here, once we made a few trips to the local supermarket. The weather was perfect for walking and sightseeing. Lastly all your helpful hints added to the charm of this home. Thank you.

Thank you for allowing us to share your apartment Dec 2011

The apartment was wonderful. It made us feel as though we lived here in Rome. The accommodations were excellent, especially the tea. We ate at 3 great restaurants  Collene Emiliane, Maccherone and IL Chiarti. Also the church bell ringing every 15 minutes was neat, even if it woke you up at night. At least we knew what time it was. We also loved San Crespiro Ice Cream, my husband especially loved it.

Thank you for allowing us to share your apartment. It made our time here in Rome even more exciting.

Just as cute as can be, location was fantastic! Nov 2011

We loved this apartment. It was just as cute as it appears in the photos, the location was fantastic. We walked everywhere. It was perfect for my husband and myself, very very charming, so comfortable and nicely decorated. If there was a dream Rome apartment, this is it! I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and the services of Italy Perfect. Highly commendable apartment and service.

A perfect jewel of an apartment Nov 2011

I loved this apartment. So tastefully furnished and comfortable, with a balcony where we could eat outside enjoying the sites and sounds even though it was November. Hard to believe that the apartment which is situated on a quiet side street is just a few short blocks from Trevi Fountain bustling with crowds of people. It was great to return home to the apartment where we felt a world away from the tourists (yet able to join them with just a short walk when we wanted to). We also loved the restaurant just downstairs where we felt like family. I'm already thinking of when I can return here.
