It is so comfortable!
A comfortable and completely equipped apartment in a convenient location by Piazza del Popolo.
Piazza del Popolo is one of the most beautiful piazzas in Rome. It is entered from the north through a monumental gate in the ancient Aurelian city wall. Laid out in 1859 to serve as the ceremonial entrance to the walled city for visitors and pilgrims arriving from the north, its beauty is still astonishing. An Egyptian obelisk and four Egyptian lions form part of the central fountain. On the steps of the fountain modern-day pilgrims rest their feet and converse. Two monumental and almost identical churches straddle Via del Corso. At first you don`t notice the third church, Santa Maria del Popolo, that may be the most interesting of the three. Santa Maria arose to counter the bad spirit of Nero who was supposedly buried on that spot. Santa Maria contains some really wonderful art, a tomb by Bernini and two original Caravaggios.
The Pincian gardens rise from Piazza del Popolo and flow into the Borghese Gardens, a great place to stroll, jog, rent a bicycle-cart, find children`s park and playground, and, about 15 minutes walk to the wonderful Galleria Borghese.
Three streets lead off Piazza del Popolo, Via Babuino, Via del Corso and Via Ripetta, called the Trident, and lead right into the delights of the center of Rome.
Rome is a walking city and you can take any of these routes to head to different parts of the Eternal city. You can also cross the Tiber River for the Vatican and great shopping.
The immediate neighborhood has all the shops you need. Down just a few doors is Castroni, a great gourmet food shop.
This location is especially good for transportation. The trolley heads north to the Olympic sports stadium and the new MAXXI museum. The subway is a block away and in the same piazza as the subway is a bus transportation hub.
The Orlando apartment is in a fine building from 1870, like many in the neighborhood. It faces Rome`s trolley line and is close to many transportation options: the trolley, the subway, busses and a taxi rank in Piazza del Popolo. There is noise from the trolley which runs from 5:30 a.m. to midnight.
There are a few steps up to the locked stairwell door and elevator.
For larger families or groups, we suggest the Orlando apartment rented in conjunction with the Flaminio apartment which is a one-minute walk from this apartment.
Orlando`s main door opens into a bright living/dining room that has a sofa (converts to queen sized bed), antique desk, flat screen television. The dining table is oval shaped. Along the entry door wall is a hutch with helpful guides and books. New, sound-cancelling window overlooks wide Via Flaminia and an intersection so no buildings impede sunlight. Trolley runs from 5:30 a.m. to midnight.
Stepping to the right of the entry you find the kitchen, two bathrooms and the second bedroom.
The galley-style kitchen is complete with four burner gas stove top, microwave (no oven), drip coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, large refrigerator with freezer compartment.
Keep in touch from the Orlando apartment with WiFi, telephone and television with Satellite reception. You can receive a few English language news channels. For guest convenience, find several North American electrical outlets for your dual-voltage personal electronics.
To the left of the entry area is the master bedroom that also has a new window onto Via Flaminia. The high quality queen-sized bed is flanked with night stands with individual lamps. Double closet has mirrored doors.
To the right of the entry area the second bedroom has two single beds, one of which can be stowed under the other if there is a single guest in this room. Double closet. The new window faces Via Flaminia.
The two bathrooms both have a shower, sink and a toilet. The larger bath also has a combination washer/dryer.

We stayed at the Orlando apartment for three nights, with our two teenage girls. The location was excellent and the apartment very nice. It is in the city, so there were city noises outside the windows, but nothing we couldn't live with. We would stay there again. We have used London Perfect, Paris Perfect and now Italy Perfect and have always been pleased.

Orlando Apt / Great Location and Landing Spot, Highly Recommend
If I were to return to Rome (sure I will as I tossed the proverbial coin into the Trevi), I would stay at Orlando again. Italy Perfect has many properties to chose from and I would consider others, but we were very happy with Orlando.
The location is a few steps north of Piazza del Popolo, south from there are the famous Trident Roads, with easy access to just about everything in Rome. South to the left is Piazza de Spagna (Spanish Steps) and Borghese Gardens. Middle south is great shopping and down through the south, center of Rome. South to the right is a main road that leads to the Piazza Navona area, Pantheon, all very walkable.
We easily walked to and from the Vatican, Trastevere neighborhood, the other sites I mentioned and many more. One just needs a good pair of walking shoes; we rarely used public transportation. There is a taxi stand in nearby Piazza del Popolo. Half the fun was getting lost and running into things (like another ancient ruins site) that we wouldn't have otherwise seen.
The apartment has the benefit of being steps away from a metro subway stop, which leads directly to Roma Termini, very convenient for our day trip we took to Venezia via high speed rail. Nearby are numerous small grocers and an outdoor fruit and veg market; larger supermarkets are not very walkable from Orlando (if you're lugging groceries) but this was no issue as there wasn't anything we needed that we couldn't buy within about two blocks.
The area is very safe, we were out at all hours, with teenage daughters, and never once worried about our safety. Even down in the subway late at night, seemed perfectly fine. Going to a place I'm unfamiliar w/ always gives me a little trepidation; we felt instantly comfortable. We did use under-the-shirt wallets but never encountered any potential theft situations (that we're aware of).
The apartment had everything we needed, including a large supply of dishes so that we weren't constantly running the dishwasher. All the appliances worked fine, the apartment was exceedingly clean which I appreciate. I liked the feel that you were living in someone else's home, with books scattered around, knick knacks in the common area (living room) drawers etc. It was very comfortable and welcoming-feeling.
The air conditioner worked very well. It was mid 90's (F), not too humid, when we were in Rome. We turned the air to 25 or 26C when we were out during the day, and set it cooler a bit when we were in, and we were really comfortable. I expected to deal w/ heat inside the apartment, we didn't at all. The wifi also was completely reliable, very fast, never went out. That also exceeded my expectations.
The only aspects I can think of, that some people might have issue with, are some of the furnishings are a little on the worn side (not badly so). Everything was very service-able, and again very clean.
Additionally the area is fairly noisy (street noise, not from within the building), but I'm guessing that is true many places in Rome. The garbage trucks pick up in the middle of the night, the electric tram makes quite a bit of noise, etc.
To me, this is all white noise and didn't bother me at all, just part of being in a big city. One benefit of the location is there is very little auto traffic directly on the street below. The street directly below the window is dedicated completely to the electric tram.
We had a great time being Romans for a couple weeks and the apartment was great for our family - kids had their own bathroom, two bedrooms, nice kitchen, and living room for hanging out, beats a hotel any day. Also, Italy Perfect was really wonderful to work with.
I've never dealt w/ an agency before that provided so much helpful travel and country info, I would do business with them again now that I've experienced. Very responsive to any questions I had.
If not familiar w/ foreign travel, take the time to read the materials they give you. Our trip went really smoothly partly because I spent quite a bit of time in advance making sure I knew how to use my cell phone, notifying financial institutions in advance of travel, understanding things like how to order coffee (a caffe will get you an espresso), courtesies and customs.
Those little things went a long way and we didn't experience any hassles. All of that and more is in the dozens of pages Italy Perfect provides to its clients. I love planning trips; I never expected Italy Perfect to do half the work for me and it was greatly appreciated.
The Roman-apartment greeter was great, he worked w/ our driver to meet us, and was there when we arrived. Very friendly and enthusiastic, gave us a great overview of the apartment. He even got in touch mid week to see how we were doing. Was nice to know he was there if we needed him (we didn't).
Great experience, highly recommend this company and this specific apartment.
[Thank you so much for the wonderful, comprehensive feedback. It was a pleasure to work with you! The Italy Perfect Team]
The Orlando apartment is in a fabulous location. We fell in love with the little cafes on the same block as the apartment and had our breakfast at one on the corner every morning. It is a safe neighborhood with markets in a short walking distance. Italy Perfect met us at the apartment and walked us through all we needed to know. It was very spacious and perfect for our family of four. As a visitor from the US, be prepared that the apartment is a little dated and could use some paint repair and probably a larger hot water heater so that two people can shower at once, but overall, it was perfect for us. The description and our agent pointed out the train/ trolly passes right outside the apartment and runs from 7 am - 11pm - while it didn't bother us, it actually starts running at 5:30 am which may be a problem for light sleepers. The apartment had everything we needed, including wifi, and we quickly mastered the combo washer and dryer which was fabulous and allowed us to bring only cary on luggage. The apartment was very clean. I would definitely recommend this apartment and Italy Perfect for a family or two couples and look forward to using them again in the future.
[Thank you, we are so happy you enjoyed the Orlando apartment. The website information informs all guests that the trolley starts at 5:30 am.]
I absolutely would recommend both the Orlando apartment and Italy Perfect.
My family of four had a great time staying in the Orlando apartment. The apartment was as pictured, no surprises. We mostly walked everywhere with the exceptions of a private driver from the airport and an early morning tour. We used Rocco who was one of the recommended drivers through Italy Perfect. He was great, there where and when he said he would be. I absolutely would recommend both the Orlando apartment and Italy Perfect. Thanks for making our first trip to Italy perfect!
Great place, nice people, great location, would rent again.
Very nice apartment in convenient location!
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 college kids) really enjoyed our stay at the Orlando apartment in Rome. The apartment was very nice, very clean, had plenty of room, and was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We really liked the location as well... it was just a block from the metro station and close to plenty of restaurants, as well as in walking distance to some popular attractions. The welcome staff was also extremely friendly and very helpful, providing us with a detailed map and plenty of information on the surrounding area and how to get around.
One thing I will mention is that the train runs right outside the building from early in the morning until late in the evening. This was not a bother to us during our stay, but it is good to know in case you are sensitive to noise, if you go to bed early or are a late riser, or if you have small children that wake easily.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area was Hostaria Da Pietro, just a few blocks from the apartment. It had outdoor seating in an intimate little alley. It was just a great atmosphere and our waiter was so friendly and kept us laughing all evening. This was our favorite meal in Rome!
I would absolutely recommend Italy Perfect and would definitely book through them again myself! I actually wish that I had found this company sooner so that we could have booked more of our European vacation rentals through them. I have never worked with a company that provided such complete and comprehensive information for our trip. As soon as we booked with them, they began providing such detailed information that answered any and every question I could have thought of, and a lot of information that I never would have thought to ask about or check into myself. We arrived very prepared! They were even willing to recommend and help us book some activities in other parts of Europe during our vacation.
Thank you Italy Perfect!
Orlando unit = a Perfect Location!
My family and I spent 5 days in Rome and stayed at the Orlando property offered by Italy Perfect and let me just say it was "PERFECT". We arrived late but it was no problem for our greeter. Upon arrival we found the unit in great condition. I know some reviews comment on the street noise but we had no issues with or without the windows closed. We kept the windows open while in the unit - day & night - and there was no extreme noises to cause concern. Aside from the unit being clean and beautiful, THE LOCATION WAS OUTSTANDING! We jumped on the subway just a block away as well as the tram just outside the doors. Most nights we were out late walking and found amazing restaurants, bars and desserts in short walking distance. The shopping options for clothes, gifts, or art was also just minutes away from the unit. We found a small vendor (store) just a block away where we bought wine, pasta and all the necessities to make our own late meal (on our last night in Rome). And, although many may not care, we loved having a dryer in the unit. My family and I are frequent travelers to Europe and we will contact www.italyperfect.com on our next trip to Italy.
Love the property! Location could not have been better for walking to the sites. Trolley line ends at window of apt. If you are a light sleeper. Corner coffee bar was very friendly. Mateo and Marko from Stephanos car service were excellent . Always on time.
Must take the "Eating Italy" tour. Fabulous !!'
Italy Perfect could not have been more accommodating ! Everything was truly perfect!! Thank you for a great time.
We three ladies found the Orlando apartment perfect for our needs. The Piazza Populo location provided nearby grocery, specialty deli, convenient cab and Metro access...even a gelato shop next door. The accomodations worked well and came with good instructions. Many excellent restaurants in the area...try Babette at the beginning of via Margutta. Best of all was all the help Pat provided to a less-than-skilled computer user.
I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect!!
[Thank you so much. We are delighted it all worked out so well. Italy Perfect]
The apartment is such a comfortable place to stay, truly this is our best visit ever.
Having traveled often to Europe over many years, Italy is our favorite place to visit. We so much enjoy the people, culture, and of course the food.
We had discussed doing this trip for a long time, having it come true has been special.
The apartment is such a comfortable place to stay, truly this is our best visit ever. We must also point out that the greenery and flowers on the terrace create a very warm welcoming private environment.
But the best memories for us, as always are the Italian people. They always go out of their way to demonstrate their hospitality. We found many such people in the neighborhood and the city. You of course demonstrated this by personally resolving our minor wifi problem!
We already are discussing a return visit within the next 12-24 months. Once we confirm our plan, we hope to be able to spend it again, in your family's lovely apartment.
