Historic Rome at it's finest, easy walkability to the sites and a sunny terrace  - the cheerful focal point of the apartment - make this a very inviting vacation apartment.

Location

Just a stone's throw from majestic Piazza Navona, the Pompeo apartment offers comfort, modern amenities and a notably quiet ambience topped off with a nice terrace. The area was once the location of the Roman Theatre of Pompeo, the very first permanent Roman theatre, commissioned by the Roman General Pompeo in 55 B.C., remnants of which can still be seen today in the colonnade across the piazza.

The apartment is within very easy walking distance to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Campo de' Fiori home to Rome's most famous outdoor fresh produce market. Plentiful restaurants and cafes in the area.

Exterior

The Pompeo apartment is located in a small building the opens onto a piazza with loads of typical Italian character. The unique curve of the buildings that line the piazza follows the architectural lines of the Theatre of Pompeo. The charming buildings now standing date back to Renaissance times.

The building does not have an elevator. A very important feature of this apartment is it's position in the back of the building, away from traffic and pedestrian noise. Rome is a busy bustling city and this area is prime historic center with the sites at your doorstep; quiet apartments with a terrace near Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Campo de' Fiori are highly prized.

Interior

The Pompeo apartment is built around a sunny, pleasant terrace. The apartment wraps the terrace on three sides. You'll enjoy the terrace as your outdoor living and dining room during much of the year when temperatures are mild. It has a table, 4 chairs and an electric retractible awning. It is nicely landscaped with a vine-planted trellis and potted plants.

Step through the front door and be greeted by the first set of French doors that open to the terrace. A short hallway perpendicular to the foyer that leads to the living room and kitchen has two more sets of French doors opening to the terrace. Imagine the light and fresh air you'll enjoy from your own private terrace.

The living room is furnished with an upholstered armchair, flat screen TV which receives local channels, built-in desk and a sofa bed which makes up into two independent twin beds. This style of sofa bed is more comfortable than a folding sofa bed since the mattresses are thicker since they don't have to fold in the middle. The desk is handy if you are bringing a laptop; the apartment has WiFi throughout. The living room has drapes on the doorway for privacy.

The kitchen can be accessed off the hallway or through the living room. It's large for Rome and is fully furnished. A table seats four although the terrace, which can easily be accessed from the kitchen, is perfect for meals al fresco which you can prepare from the bevy of wonderful food shops and array of fresh produce in this neighborhood.

A full bathroom just beyond the kitchen has sink, fully enclosed shower, toilet and bidet.

The bedroom also opens out onto the terrace. It has a queen size bed and an adjoining full bathroom, also with sink, fully enclosed shower, toilet and bidet.

Everything and more Mar 2012

My husband and I were warmly greeted by Danielle, a lovely lady. She went out of her way to accommodate us on our early arrival. Danielle also took us on a mini tour of the area to show us how to get to the grocery store and market. The location was wonderful, we were within walking distance of everything. The apartment was exactly as described, the terrace was a lovely way to start our day as well as a nice glass of wine at the end of the day. Our daugther lives in Trastevere, which was just a tram ride away. The tram was two blocks from the apartment. We did not have any difficulties with the hot water nor the heat/ac. Danielle phoned mid-week to make sure everything was to our liking or if we needed assistance. Everything that we needed or wanted was truly, just around the corner. My husband and I would definately stay in this apartment again and have already recommended it to other parents visiting their children while studying abroad. Also, Lisa and Pam were very helpful with tour information as well as transportation to the apartment. We used Stefan who was there waiting for us and early to pick us up to take us back to the apartment. Anytime I had a question, I emailed them and they responded within hours. Thank you for helping to make our first visit to Europe everything we wanted and more.

Great place to stay in Rome Mar 2012

The Pompeo apartment was in a great location very close to Piazza Navona. There was a bakery and grocery near too. Our greeter Daniela was terrific and explained everything very well. We had a minor issue with the hot water and she came right away and fixed it for us. The apartment was very clean and we liked having two bathrooms (great with kids). The neighborhood felt very safe and we would highly recommend this wonderful apartment. Ciao!

The Pompeo apartment was clean and in perfect condition upon our arrival. Nov 2011

From the first phone call with Lisa all went smooth and with great success. We in fact also rented from Italy Perfect an apartment in Venice. The Pompeo apartment was clean and in perfect condition upon our arrival. The fact that two bottles of wine were waiting for us did not hurt our first impression. Location is the best.

I unhesitatingly recommend Italy Perfect. Oct 2011

Overall the accomodations were much better than expected. Daniella was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

The location and surrounding area was surprisingly quiet for Rome. Because of it's relatively central location, Pomoeo was well located for all our sight-seeing.

Just enjoy yourself as we did and remember you're in Italy so relax and go with it.

I unhesitatingly recommend Italy Perfect.

Perfect Jun 2011

This apartment was perfect for our family of 4. The second bathroom came in handy when we were trying to get out the door quickly in the morning. It is located in a lovely neighborhood: restaurants, market, shops, cafes and sites all within easy walking distance. We did not need to get in a cab once! I especially enjoyed feeling like a local and being able to see family life in Rome. I miss the friendly baristas and shopkeepers.

Pompeo offers it all! Jun 2011

Our family of 4 found the accommodations adequate - it's a small apartment (and a bit noisy) but because the location was so ideal, we didn't spend alot of time in the apartment. Great access to buses, taxis, shopping, and restaurants. Be sure to check out the daily market at Campo di Fiori and make the walk across the Tiber to the charming Trastevere area where there are tons of restaurants. When we return to Italy, we will book with Italy Perfect again.

Location with a Terrace! May 2011

We spent the first part of an anniversary trip at the Pompeo and were very impressed with how clean, new and bright it was. The layout is quite thoughtful and would work well for a family or even 2 couples as the living room has a sofa bed and can be closed off with doors to the kitchen and a curtain to the hallway. The multiple seating areas in the kitchen and on the terrace along with the 2 bathrooms would save it from feeling small with 4 people. However, for 2 people all that space and 2 bathrooms with a terrace was total luxury! We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning on the terrace, which is interior to the building. It has no views but it brings in sunlight and can be made more private by extending an electronic awning so that neighbors above don't look down on you directly. It was also very quiet - we heard only the birds and the church bells. The kitchen was excellently equipped - though you'll want to bring/buy a sharp knife if you plan to cook much or just ask Daniella (greeter) who may be able to provide one (we never asked since it wasn't an issue until much later in our stay). Daniella was a great resource - she greeted us with wine and Cantucci, gave us a walking tour of the neighborhood, recommended wonderful restaurants (be sure to try Antico Forno Roscioli for amazing baked goods and The Moderne for a nice night out) and was so helpful answering all our questions. The wi-fi worked wonderfully and the location near Campo di Fiore for the daily food market is great for preparing meals and seeing a different slice of Rome. The location is also perfectly central. We would recommend this apartment to anyone except folks with mobility issues since there is no elevator.

The apartment was perfect to come home to each day, bright and wonderfully quiet. May 2011

We were so happy at the Pompeo apartment. Incredible location, very interesting and so nice to be right in the center of things. The apartment was perfect to come home to each day, bright and wonderfully quiet. We spent each evening out on the terrace enjoying a glass of wine before going to dinner at one of the many good restaurants in the area. Apartment was comfortable, clean and very well maintained. You won't be disappointed. Service from Italy Perfect and the greeter was impeccable. Grazie!

Bravo Italy Perfect Apr 2011

We stayed at a different apartment (Trestevere) before we stayed at Pompeo. We hadn’t taken ItalyPerfect’s warnings about noisiness in Trestevere seriously and unfortunately we found that the space is over a bar and the live music, when they have it, was too much for us to be able to sleep. I got in touch with ItalyPerfect and they graciously and quickly switched us to the Pompeo location. The Trestevere apartment was very nice – all it was advertized to be. The Pompeo space and location are even nicer; comfy, clean, brand new renovation, great location, great wireless access. The building is built on the site of the Theater of Pompey, which has a rich and storied history. I would have to spend a LOT more money to get a place I would prefer over this one in Rome.
