| A Terrace for Every Room |

A terrace opens up every room in this bright penthouse near the Spanish Steps. It offers fine quality and dreamed-of enjoyment of Roman skies.
The penthouse Carina apartment is located between the Spanish Steps and the monumental Piazza del Popolo. This area is prized for its fine buildings, central location, fine shopping and dining. It is also very close to the Villa Borghese park just a few minutes walk or jog.
The apartment is accessed from Via del Corso but does not face that street that carries little traffic but a steady river of pedestrians. It opens onto the side street and the large terrace faces away from the river towards the Pincian gardens and the Spansh Steps.
Carina is arranged in what we used to call "railroad" style with the rooms arrayed in a row along one side of the apartment. Off of the generous foyer (good place to leave luggage) is the first bedroom that has a small private terrace overlooking the rooftops. A bistro table and two chairs invite a quiet breakfast in the warm air. The room is large enough for a queen-sized bed, a three drawer bureau and a chair. A shelf above the bed can hold your book, glasses and alarm clock. The bed faces a flat-screen television with satellite reception for a few English-language programs. For efficiency, the closets for guests are outside the bedroom in a row along the hallway.
Along the hall and next is an almost identical bedroom also with television. The hallway then widens to form a cosy living room. Admittedly narrow, there is room for a table in front of the sofa that can be tucked in the window-well when not in use. When you are sitting on the right side of the sofa, your view is out the window and across the terrace. A comfy wicker chair expands seating. If you are four, you can bring in a chair from the kitchen or terrace.
A garden terrace (approx 12 x 12 feet) is accessed from the living room. It has an adjustable awning for warm or wet days. A large table easily seats four. The views are lovely and peaceful of Villa Medici in the Pincian gardens across to the Trintà dei Monti area. You can see the steeple of the Greek church in the foreground.
Behind the living room is a modern eat-in kitchen with small refrigerator, four burner gas range, gas oven and dishwasher. The kitchen, too, has a nice terrace with awning. the kitchen table will comfortably seat three. Accessed from the kitchen is a utility room with sink and washing machine. A drying rack is stored there; take it out onto the kitchen terrace for drying laundry.
As promised, even the bathroom has a terrace! Admittedly, it is only about a foot deep, but French doors fold open and the sun pours in. The view from the window in the bathroom is also great. Brush your teeth while gazing up at the Villa Medici Académie de France that hosts many cultural events. There is a full tub with a shower.

Very nice apartment.
Perfect for two people, either a couple or two singles. If you are four, then you would dine together on the terrace or in some of the many, may fine neighborhood restaurants. (Italy Perfect gives guest a complimentary restaurant guide.)
If you want light and peaceful views, don't hesitate.
Every room has a terrace and four have awnings, so you can enjoy Roman skies year-round.
The bedrooms and living rooms are small, but all the windows and doors ensure you don't feel cramped.
Wifi signal reaches only as far as the first bedroom.
| Carina apartment was great!! | Jul 2010 |
Internet connection was a little dodgy, so was difficult to contact you there.
However, we loved our stay, the apartment was very clean, upon our arrival.
A lovely cosy atmosphere, so peaceful & cool ( Despite the intense summer heat in Rome, two air-con units very quickly cooled the rooms) The electrical circuit did trip a couple of times, even with just two air-con units on and no other appliances. But my husband quickly ran down to the fuse boxes on the ground floor and all was fine.
Just so heavenly after a hot, busy day in Rome to return to this lovely apartment and relax on the roof terrace before dinner.
We are already wanting to return and are applying serious thought as to when dates will work for both us and the apartment owners, re it's availability.
We are already recommending you and this lovely apartment to our family & friends. |

| Magical | Jun 2010 |
My husband and my brother in law and I spent 1 wonderful week living at the Carina apartment on the Via del Corso in Rome. It was everything that the pictures and reviews promised. Tastefully decorated in bright sunny colours and equipped adequately for our stay. Very clean. The 4 terraces were charming and we used 3 of them. Really like the fact that we could use the covers to give us shade. One evening a choir sang for over an hour outside our building and we sat on the terrace with our wine and picnic! The location was fine for us as we don't mind walking. Super close to Piazza de Popolo ( which has a taxi stop) and the Borghese Gardens and of course great shopping. At night it was quiet. We would stay here again. Pat from Italy Perfect was very helpful with her pre-trip information. |

| Wonderful Location | Jun 2010 |
Where do I begin....I had a fabulous time in Roma!! And my home away from home the Carina apartment was perfect. Not only was the apartment quaint and very comfortable, it was in the best location. Only moments away (Walking Distance) from the Spanish Steps, incredible shopping, public transportation, and wonderful restaurants. The apartment building has its own bit of history, a famous poet and artist shared an apartment in the building in the 17th century. |

| Clean, pretty, comfortable, well located. | Apr 2010 |
Just a brief note to thank you for your assistance with our Italy Trip. We had a wonderful time. The two apartments [Rome Carina and Florence Anna] we rented were a big part of that. They were as advertised and wonderful. Thank you.
Stefano met us at the Rome airport and took us to apartment. It was indeed great to be met by someone with a sign with our name on it.
The apartment was great for us in all the ways that are important. Clean, pretty, comfortable, well located. The beds in each room were quite different, and we elected the softer one. It was delightful, and the sheets were nice too.
It did feel a little odd to be in a place without a living room. Fine for 2, but I can't imagine being in a foursome there. Still, the couch in the hall was comfortable. It was very quiet with the windows closed, which was nice. The terrace, of course, was a slice of heaven. [Living room/hall is tiny, as depicted in the photos. Lisa, Ialy Perfect]
We never saw or heard from Alessandro. His mom (who spoke no English) let us in. Fortunately, we had read all your materials (thank you!) and had no problems. One little rub was that there was only one set of keys, but we managed to coordinate just fine.
The Florence apartment was lovely. Francesca, who met us there, was really helpful and nice. She suggested restaurants, discussed (at our inquiry) some of the social issues confronting Florence, and added considerably to our pleasure there. Also, the guest book and notes by the owner in that apartment made a difference. 18 Via di Corso would benefit from that.
So..thank you. We have recommended you to several friends and look forward to renting from you again.

| The apartment in Rome was indeed perfect. | Feb 2010 |
The apartment in Rome was indeed perfect. The location was wonderful, so central to everything. The apartment was very clean and beautiful and had everything we needed. Overall our stay in Rome was delightful, the only sad thing was the lack of time to explore more of that wonderful city. |

| Spectactular, lovely terrace, bright sunny | Dec 2009 |
Overall we very much enjoyed staying at th Carina apartment. The location could not be better, steps from great shopping, eating, and transportation in a very clean and lively nighborhood. The top floor situation made for very quiet and peaceful evenings (the neighborhood goes to sleep like an on/off switch at around 9pm). With the doors/windows closed we literally could not hear any sound from anywhere. The unit is essentially a long rectangle, with balconies and windows along both long sides. This is just great for being bright and airy, open opposing doors and you immediately get a nice cross wind. The terrace is indeed a joy, with well maintained greenery making it feel like an oasis in the city. We spent virtually every morning there with our breakfast enjoying the morning sun. If we were to return to Rome, it is very likely we would stay here again. |

| A for satisfaction | Oct 2009 |
We loved the apartment. It couldn’t have been more perfect for our use and stay. As you said central to every event for the wedding, shopping and just touring Roma. We adored the terrace and spent our mornings and late afternoons there as we rested between stops and planned the day. Our host was extremely responsive in meeting us and answering any questions. The apartment was clean, sheets linen always my favorite. I would give it an A for satisfaction and would definitely book it agaiin. |

| We felt we were in a movie. | Sep 2009 |
This apartment was the highpoint of our trip to Italy. It was our own private nest above the busy city. I It felt like we should be in a movie of a romantic trip to Rome. We were on the terrace all the time. Coffee on the bedroom terrace, breakfast on the big one... The weather was very warm (90!) but we didn't need a/c, just opened up all the windows and terraces. The views are timeless, with that high position, we were able to orient ourselves in the city and enjoy the green hills above and rooftops in the foreground. The apartment is cosy, as they say, but well planned and worked great for us. Pat at Italy Perfect was so helpful and we read all the information she sent. This was a our first time to rent an apartment while traveleing and it was a great experience thanks to her. Anna |
