| Art-Filled Luxury Apartment Terrace Views |

Inspiring views from an art-filled apartment in the charming Monti district near the Roman coliseum.
Monti is a wonderful part of Rome for visitors to discover. It isn't as famous as other areas, yet is right in the center of Rome with many of the famous sights within walking distance. It is characteristically Roman, the most ancient neighborhood in the city. History echoes with views of the Coliseum, the Roman Forum. 2000 years ago this was the subura, the working class area of ancient Rome where Julius Cesar was born. A number of the most important churches in Rome are nearby: St. John Lateran, St. Peter in Chains, St. Mary Major. Traditionally a neighborhood of craftsmen, you will find old crafts and modern arts and crafts side by side. Monti has gentrified over the last decade so there is a wealth of restaurants, beautiful shops with fine items of all kinds. Some guests find this more fun to explore than jostling with the crowds around the Spanish Steps.
Located in a well-maintained building from the 1800s with modern elevator.
Colomba is large and gracious. A balcony extends all along the street-side of the apartment so tall French doors and windows flood the apartment with light.
The living room is furnished with taste and comfort; two sofas and arm chairs for conversation. A card table sits under beautiful, old oil paintings. Next to the living room is the study/den where you will find the television and two more sofas. The furniture and painted walls are coordinated with tasteful color themes that evolves from room to room as you move throughout the apartment.
From the study rise the stairs to the glorious terrace with a straight-on, breathtaking view of the Coliseum. The terrace is a rooftop garden with shrubs and trees along the entire perimeter and growing around the gazebo. Indulge in the Roman preference for dining 'al fresco' outdoors. Take every chance to enjoy the Roman sun; as the light changes you can gaze on sweeping vistas of the monuments and timeless terracotta rooftops. Your penthouse position also allows you to appreciate the terraces and balcony gardens below you.
The separate dining room is grandly decorated and spacious. The kitchen is also large, prettily decorated in contrasting colors. Look for the charming trompe l'oeil details. Breakfast bar.
There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom with king sized bed is decorated with the signature murals that the painter-owner renders so beautifully. The en-suite bathroom has both shower and tub. The wall features a trompe l'oiel painting with a fantasy view.
The twin bedded room is exquisitely decorated. Beautiful prints and paintings of ducks, the owner's familiar spirit, are found throughout the apartment. The twin beds are placed end to end. This bedroom shares a bath with the third bedroom that is small and inviting. It has one single bed.
The master bedroom is air-conditioned. The living rooms have an efficient portable air conditioner that can be moved into the bedroom with the two twin beds at night, but not into the single bedroom.

| Excellent Colomba | Jan 2009 |
The Colomba apartment was excellent and the location was perfect. Imagine living amongst the locals in the center of thousands of years of history. It was awsome. The greeters for the apartment were warm and very helpful and accommodating. Italy Perfect organized a perfect stay for us and provided a fantastic welcome basket upon our arrival. The ancient part of the city is at your door step. Really, you can walk to the Colosseum, it's at the end of the street. Pretty cool!! All the sights of the ancient city are an easy walk. We tried several "Italian" restaurants right around the Colomba apartment, and they were all excellent. One thing my husband and I have learned from our travels is to eat just off the main tourist streets, because the food is usually more authentic and yummier and cheaper. If you eat right on the main tourist streets, the food tends to be more "mass produced." Now that I said that, I am going to contradict myself. There is an excellent bakery/coffee bar/cafe just around the corner from the apartment, on a busy street, but frequented by lots and lots of locals called Ciardi Bar Pasticceria (I just so happen to have a picture of the place with the name.) I'm sure you could try anything here and it would be good.If you want a group or self guided tour, we highly recommend "Through Eternity Tours." We had a private tour and our tour guides name was Gracelyn. We learned so much. It was well worth the money. If you plan a day trip to Pompeii, we recommend that you take an organized tour rather than doing it on your own. We did both, and an arranged tour is much better. As for the best time to visit Italy, we recomend the off season. Otherwise, you will see more crowds and less Italy.Have a great trip!!Ciao |

| The apartment was everything we could have hoped for | Mar 2008 |
We had a wonderful time in Italy. The apartment was everything we could have hoped for and we were so amazed that they had it ready for us even though we arrived in the morning. The greeter was delightful and gave us two great restaurant suggestions. We couldn't be more pleased with how the whole trip turned out. Thanks for helping to make it a great experience all around. |
