Flaminio Apartment - Perennial Favorite

Our guests seem to feel the same as we do about the Flaminio apartment in Rome; it's home. We think the feeling comes from the warm and helpful welcome, the comfortable size, not huge, but large enough for four, sometimes five, people, and the great wrap-around terrace. Again, not large, but it brings in lots of light and gives you a chance to enjoy your first cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the Roman sun. Another attraction is its value, being just outside the ancient walls, the price is lower than comparable places just two blocks away, inside the walls. As if a three minute longer walk to the Spanish Steps were a punishment! The tough part is deciding the route; which stores do you want to window shop. Visit the Flaminio apartment in Rome.

When we first "discovered" Flaminio we found a gem in the rough. We learned of this apartment from friends in Rome and immediately knew the neighborhood because we had a dentist who practiced near there. Learning that it is on a top floor, seeing photos of the French doors onto the terrace, and its south facing position, we felt really good about it. The owner outshone the apartment, a retired international executive who also happened to be an alum of the same graduate school we attended, The American Graduate School of International Management, he has a fundamental understanding of what travelers expect and need. He had equipped the apartment with all the amenities and appliances, beyond almost any other property we represent. It is one of the rare apartments in Rome with a clothes dryer, for example.

When we first visited, we found a great layout, complete amenities and furnishings that didn't live up to the apartment's potential. The owner accepted our suggestions for upgrading the furnishings and we brought in some nice decorating accents, multi-region DVD player and a library of English DVDs and convinced him that WiFi was a must. Ongoing maintenance and continued investment, keeps Flaminio in great, welcoming shape.

Here are some photos showing the evolution of the Flaminio apartment. The original futon sofa and unyielding, formal red sofa and chair were replaced with comfy sofa, love seat and side chair. Handsome oil paintings were hung, and, among other changes, we replaced an ugly rickety table on the terrace with a nice teak folding table.
