Take a walk through the Flora apartment by viewing this video.
You simply can't be more central then our Flora Florence apartment. Tucked away on a small side street right in the center of Florence this location places you in the heart of historic Florence, with the sites and an abundance of neighborhood amenities at your doorstep.
Located right in the center, just a five minute walk to some of the most important historic sites in Florence. Looking down the street you can actually see the dome of the famous Duomo cathedral just a few blocks away. One of our favorite nice pizzeria restaurants is at the end of the block. Via Tornabuoni, with it's famous designer shopping is about a 2 minute walk. For Flora guests looking for inexpensive fashion deals we'll tip you off to a favorite Italian fashion "secret", a no-frills chain store just a block away where you can sometimes find surprisingly attractive Italian fashion at bargain ba
5 story apartment building dating back to the 15th century. The Flora apartment is located on the top floor. There is no elevator so be prepared for a hearty walk upstairs. While walking up and down the stairs you can reflect on the fact that you're gaining insight into the Mediterranean diet, which isn't just about olive oil and red wine but it includes getting daily exercise walking to-and-fro without having to go to the gym. You'll be well rewarded by the sweet and cheerful Flora apartment when you reach the top.
Whenever we come across an apartment in a great historic center location in a top floor position it gets our interest because a high floor in the building often means sun and quiet. The Flora apartment has an enviable high position in the building: sunlight streams into the living room window. The bedroom and bathroom are bright too with large skylights.
Great care has been taken throughout to provide for our guests' comfort. The apartment was recently completely renovated with many special touches: Florentine painted doors, attractive fully up-to-date kitchen and bathroom.
The living room has a queen size sofa bed. Pretty painted armoire and a few other nice antique pieces. A handsome dining table can seat up to four. A satellite TV receives English language news channels. Free wireless internet. The picture window over the sofa admits lots of light and has pleasant views looking out over the neighboring rooftops. You can even catch a glimpse of Giotto's belltower in the distance. At dusk you'll hear the timless sound of Florentine church bells tolling throughout the city. There are original beamed ceilings overhead.
The kitchen is modern and fully outfitted with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. Guests' special welcome includes a gift basket with a few snacks as well as a complimentary bottle of Chianti wine for toasting your stay in Florence.
The bathroom is down a short hallway. It has a large skylight above providing excellent natural light. The bathroom has a fully enclosed shower, sink, toilet and bidet.
The bedroom is quite spacious. It sits under the eaves so a portion of the ceiling is low, but the main part of the bedroom is normal height. A queen size bed is accented by a very nice antique dresser, night stands, reading lamps. Clever storage space in the far corners under the eaves are handy for tucking away your suitcase out of sight.
The Flora apartment is pretty and very well maintained. The attractive monthly rate and great location make it a great choice for guest planning a longer stay in Florence, perhaps to study Italian, take an art or cooking course.
