The 16th-century palazzo is owned by the gracious Contessa Piccolomini, who rents out truly spacious apartments to anyone who has ever dreamed of lying in bed near a roaring fire under a 17th-century frescoed ceiling or sipping tea in a living room surrounded by trompe d'oeil Roman ruins with a 16th-century wood ceiling above.

It is on the third floor (American designation) of the Palazzo and an elevator takes you all the way.

The elegant living room seats all guests facing a working fireplace. Three floor to ceiling windows give you a the finest possible view onto the piazza. 

The dining room is large with an antique table that will seat twelve. The adjoining kitchen seats eight. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped.

Throughout the apartment are the original beamed ceilings from the 1500s, the time of the Renaissance.
