"Sweet little place" |
| Sunny Terrace, Good Value |

Open up the living room and kitchen doors to the sunny terrace to enjoy a private little retreat in the very heart of Florence.
The location of the Veronica apartment is a huge attraction of this small apartment. It is located in Florence's historic center near Piazza Santa Croce and just around the corner from the Sant'Ambrogio food market, which locals view as the best in Florence -- even better then the Mercato Centrale. The apartment is quiet and puts you in the heart of Florence with all the major sites within easy walking distance. Veronica is an ideal apartment for those who put a premium on location and budget but really want a terrace and a peaceful atmosphere, which can be hard to find in such a prime location.
The neighborhood abounds with good restaurants and excellent resources for daily living. The renowned Il Cibreo restaurant is on the same street as the Veronica apartment. In addition to the Sant'Ambrogio market, there are many interesting food shops, bakeries and small stores. Satisfy your sweet tooth at the world famous Vivoli's gelato just a few blocks away.
The Sant' Ambrogio di Pietro Piana is one of the oldest churches in Florence. Next store to the church is a convent, the first in all of Florence, which still houses nuns to this day. These nuns occupy their time doing needlework and making beautifully embroidered priests' robes. Just a few blocks away is the Piazza Santa Croce famous for its 14th century Franciscan church with impressive art and where you will find the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini and Machiavelli to name a few. Just a few blocks away is the National Library and Archives. The Uffizi, Bargello, Duomo are all within a 10-minute walk. If you like to walk, cross over the nearby Ponte alle Grazie to the Oltrarno side of Florence and take an invigorating walk up to Forte di Belvedere or Piazzale Michelangelo in 20 minutes where you can take in some of the finest views of the city.
Small apartment building dating to the 15th century. The apartment is in a second building located behind the one that faces the street, so is accessed by walking up one set of stairs (18 steps), through a small passage and then down a set of stairs (14 steps) to an open courtyard in the back.
The terrace and quiet of this apartment are its primary features. It is a small ground floor apartment. The courtyard leads to another small residence. The charming setting recalls the feeling of Gregory Peck's bachelor apartment in "Roman Holiday": the interesting private courtyard, little balconies, private staircases. Hearing the comings and goings of the neighbors' is part of everyday life. If you spot the friendly neighbor upstairs in her window she might ask you to retrieve an errant clothespin or article of clothing that has fallen to your terrace, aspects of daily life that few visitors to Florence get the opportunity to experience which we find quite delightful and make you feel like a local.
The feature that attracted up to this apartment is the outdoor patio. In pleasant weather this will be your outdoor living room, where you can sit out and enjoy meals under the stars while enjoying the fact that Florence is at your doorstep. The patio is furnished with a table with umbrella and patio chairs.
A small foyer greets you upon entering through the double patio doors that open into the apartment. The apartment has terra cotta tiles throughout. The narrow but fully equipped kitchen has a large window over the sink which overlooks the patio. The kitchen is older, appliances, cabinets are not new but are functional.
Proceed through the kitchen to the bedroom. The bedroom is small with a double bed, TV, a little table that can be opened up and can accommodate up to four chairs. At the end of the bedroom is a small dressing room with good closet space, which leads to the bathroom. The bed is a standard Italian "piazza a mezzo" mattress which does not have a box spring but sits on a fr
Double glass doors from the bedroom open to the living room so no real privacy between the two rooms since there is no curtain on the glass door. The living room has a small built-in loveseat and one the upholstered chair/bed that opens into a single bed. A glass door opens out onto the patio. The apartment has a fixed phone line and high speed WiFi Internet access.
The other end of the living room has a small internal window that opens to the bathroom so privacy is an issue for more than 1 person or a couple. At the other far corner of the living room is an enclosed area with the washing machine.
Because this is a modest apartment we recommend it for travelers who want a good location but are not expecting anything fancy or any special amenities. Because of its ground floor position there is some ambient dampness too, a dehumidifier is provided to help draw out the moisture. We recommend this apartment for students or people who desire a good location and a terrace but are not particular about having anything special regarding layout or furnishings.

• Charming, picturesque, sought-after neighborhood
• Extremely quiet, tranquil for lively Santa Croce area
• Outdoor patio and privacy are delightful
• Apartment is small for more than 1 person, but budget price & great location are benefits
• Armchair bed in living room has to be moved in front of sofa to open out flat, bathroom window that opens to living room are awkward features
• We like this apartment and stay in it often ourselves since it is very clean and in a great location but the bed is small, layout is funky and furnishings are very basic. If you are not picky you'll enjoy the location and, when the weather is good, the terrace immensely.
| Veronica Stay August 2009 | Oct 2009 |
My husband and I spent the first week of our honeymoon at the Veronica apartment in Firenze this August. We arrived in the hot season, but the apartment was remarkably temperate at all times of day despite the outdoor heat. The location was great - we absolutely loved being in Santa Croce, and we loved buying fresh fruits and vegetables at the local farmer's market at Sant'Ambrogio. We were easily able to walk everywhere and to explore the great city of Firenze without trouble, but each day returning home to our little neighborhood was an added treat. The owners of Be Cafe & Enoteca, on the corner of Via di Macci were very generous and good people. We also fell in love with our local Gelateria just a few doors down, where the service was great and the smiles always ready (not to mention the delicious gelato served!). Sights to see? See it all in Firenze! We took the train one day to Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre, and it was a beautiful ride which ended in an even more beautiful place. Service in the Veronica was great. The only drawback I would mention is that the inside of the apartment has a tendency to get very damp in the humid summer months, and with this we had to deal with allergies and mosquito bites which we would not have had to deal with in a hotel room. |

| We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Veronica apartment | Aug 2009 |
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Veronica apartment The location was suberb and we really loved the outside space particularly in the evening when it was cooler. Our only gripe was with the lack of air conditioning. While you could certainly get away with it at other times of the year it's impossible in summer. There is already a portable moisture extractor (odd given the heat) so a portable air conditioner should be next. I would recommend this apt to anyone thinking of staying in Florence but without air conditioning I would avoid the height of summer. Spring or autumn would be perfect. Michael |

| Fun apartment in great location | Apr 2009 |
We enjoyed our stay in the Veronica apartment very much. It's an interesting apartment in terms of layout (kind of long and skinny) and wasn't as spacious as the Dorotea apartment we rented in Rome, it was roomy enough and suited our needs just fine (We're a family with a young child and a baby.). The only small drawback is that to get to the apartment you have to go up a steep flight of stairs, down a hallway, then down another flight of stairs, opening doors all along the way, each of which takes a different key. We didn't really consider this much of a problem because the benefit is that the apartment is set away from the street and feels as if it's tucked away in a secret location, making it peaceful and quiet. The location was fabulous (convenient walk to everything) and we enjoyed that it's right near the Sant'Ambrogio market with the great, inexpensive Trattoria da Rocco inside and we also loved the takeout rosticceria La Ghiotta and the caffe/bakery Patrizio Cosi nearby (all of which were recommended by the excellent book, The Food Lover's Guide to Florence). As for Italy Perfect, they completely lived up to their name since their service was perfect! We have rented from other agencies before but they are by far the best: very clean, well-appointed apartments and friendly, helpful, professional service. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again and I have already recommended them to friends. |

| The terrace was a real bonus, we loved it. | Apr 2009 |
The Veronica apartment was perfect for our first trip to Florence and for our first time renting an apartment. The information Italy Perfect provided us in advance was so helpful and thorough. The apartment was just like the photos on the website. The terrace was a real bonus, we loved it. We enjoyed nice weather so made use of the pleasant patio for meals outside. Couldn't believe how quiet it was for such a central location. Loved the street -- so many great restaurants at our doorstep! We hope to return to Veronica again next year for another stay. |

| The apartment was very clean, quiet, comfortable and perfectly situated. | Oct 2008 |
We just got back from Italy and had a wonderful time. The apartment was very clean, quiet, comfortable and perfectly situated. We were happy to be down the street from the Cibreo complex, Pizzaiolo and Santa Croce. It certainly was nice to have an apartment to stay in and we did have a lovely time. |

| We really felt like part of the neighborhood | Jul 2008 |
We had a wonderful time. It was very hot and humid most of the 2 weeks we were there but we knew it would be! The apartment was a great location for us in Florence. We really felt like we were part of the neighborhood and enjoyed being able to walk to everything (pretty much) We loved the St. Ambrogio market and visited all the major sites, Uffixi, Piti Palance , Duomo, Academia.. went out to dinner almost every night. Thanks again for a wonderful time... |

The Veronica apartment was very convenient to get around from and the market that was a half block away was wonderful - it was truly nice to have a home away from home for our brief stay in Florence. |

| As lovely as it looked in the site photos | Jun 2008 |
Thanks so much. We had a wonderful time in Florence. The apartment was great - as lovely as it looked in the site photos and the location was perfect. Our only challenge was some confusion around the two systems of street numbers (blue and red). It was probably in our information somewhere but neither of us caught it and we got a bit lost on the street on our first evening after everything was closed up. Thanks again. I look forward to recommending you to anyone traveling to Italy. |

| Apartment was in very good shape, clean | Apr 2008 |
We had a wonderful time in Florence and Italy in general. The Veronica apartment was very nice - in very good shape, clean, an easy walk to most everywhere. Your associates were very nice and helpful. Maurizio made us feel very welcome and we really appreciate your help as well - from their very beginning to when we had Maurizio's phone number packed away and needed you to call him! In all, it was great. As for feedback, I do not have criticisms of the apartment or service we received. The apartment was as advertised and your service was exceptional. I would say that our adjustment was primarily getting used to the size/space in Italy. Not having traveled overseas before, that was my main adjustment. |

As for recommendations....there are so many....but one of our favorites was the Teatro del Sale. Not only wonderful food but great ambiance, friendly people and truly superb music. We went twice! And breakfast. And afternoon coffee! |

| Bed is comfortable, kitchen is a good size | Mar 2008 |
Today is our last day in our apartment, and every day we like it more. Although we stayed only one week, I would be more than happy to provide testimonial for any potential guests. This place is great beyond our wildest dreams. Everything we need is right here in the neighborhood - restaurants, hardware store, the fabulous St Ambrogio market, and, oh my, the wine shop up the street!! We take our bottle up there every two days and it is filled with very good wine for only 2 to 3 Euros. We can walk to Santa Croce in five minutes, the Duomo in 15 minutes. My husband is pleased that there are four bakeries within a block, well, four bakeries that we were able to FIND!! The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is a good size and has everything a person might need to cook in Italy. Although we laugh about the five keys on each of our keyrings, we feel that our apartment is safe when we leave during the day. This was our first trip to Florence, our first trip to Italy, and our first trip to Europe. We feel that we made the right choice with ItalyPerfect, so thank you, thank you, thank you. I'll keep you & your sisters in mind when we plan future travel. |

| Walking range to many of the important sites | Mar 2008 |
After many trips to Italy over the years I would like to say that my stay at the Veronica apartment was a delight. The neighborhood is centrally located and just around the corner from wonderful markets and restaurants as well as convenient walking range to many of the important sites of Florence. I was delighted to fine ItalyPerfect and will highly recommend you for Italy vacation rentals. |

| Maurizio has been worth his weight in gold! | Mar 2008 |
Arrived yesterday, apartment great and your support staff is suburb!! Maria Vittoria is charming and Maurizio has been worth his weight in gold! I left my travel journal in the taxi from the train station....my 10 year diary with lists at the back of any number, address, phone number, etc., that had ever been of interest......very special little book......well, the driver took the initiative to look where I had showed him the apartment address, and called Maurizio and the driver delivered it at 9:00 this morning! Whew! And....the folks at the restaurant last night (next door - Osteria de Macci) took the time to call taxi companies to see if anything showed up at lost and found. Boy, are we impressed with Florentines! By the way, the restaurant was wonderful. Great food, a little on the pricey side but really good. |

| Lovely, very pretty and certainly comfortable. | Dec 2007 |
I am just about ready to leave this sweet little place. I really love it, be sure of that: it is charming and an absolute delight to be so quiet, which in Florence is no mean feat; that is one of it's most important features. The neighbourhood is great (as you know), safe, as most of Florence appears to be, and so convenient for all the major sites. I do hope to be able to come back and it would be great to be able to take advantage of the patio - it was far too cold for that this month! I have really enjoyed my time here - for your information I can strongely recommend Michelangelo School, on Via dei Ghibellina where I did a language course for the month. They also do Art History, Cookery, Painting, Sculpture, Photography and much more. And they are only 4 blocks from the apartment! And Cordon Blue Cookery School is terrific and also just around the corner. Book way ahead though! The apartment is lovely, very pretty and certainly comfortable. |

| Authentic and friendly neighborhood | Oct 2007 |
Our two-month stay at Veronica was better than we could have expected. Situated three blocks away from Santa croce and the Arno, we felt "in the heart" of Florence but not overrun with tourists. We loved being able to step outside and buy all of fresh food for the day at the Sant'Ambrogio market across the street. The authentic and friendly neighborhood is full of cafes and restaurants that deliver on good italian food and wine. The apartment itself is set back from the street off of delightful terrace which provided a safe and quiet refuge from the city. Inside it is very comfortable and we were happy to find a full furnished kitchen so that we could try our hands at the local cuisine. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a smoother and more enjoyable experience than the one we got through Italy Perfect. The write ups, the details, the photos, everything was very true to the actual experience. When you're planning a huge trip like this it's hard to know who to turn to because you just want it to all work out perfectly. Italy Perfect made it just that for us. |
