Italy was perfect! Both apartments were lovely [Florence Medici & Rome Veneto]. Each one very different but each had its own charm. Florence was beautiful and we enjoyed staying outside of the town. We walked every morning into town, stopping along the way for coffees and goodies. What better ways to start your day. Not to mention the fresh fruit stand! Would recommend the apartment to anyone. The neighbor next day with the one- eyed dog is very, very nice and sitting outside sipping wine listening to the flute playing upstairs was absolutely charming. We have already started to think about our next trip back.

We had a wonderful time in Florence! The Medici apartment was really lovely and everything worked out perfectly from meeting Francesca at the apartment to reading your advice and recommendations for shopping and restaurants. We talked to the neighbour one day when the sun came out, a very nice guy with a little Boston Terrier called Cici. What an amazing location too - I'm sure it must be one of the most sought after areas of Florence to live in. So near the centre and yet so quiet and green. We walked everyday down through the cut through of the Art Institute and Boboli Gardens.

We just got back last night and after 34 nights, 4 countries, 6 cities, 3 apartments, amazing museums, culture, people, food, and the list goes on and on made it home safe & sound with memories for a at least a life time. We loved both La Giulia Apartment (very cute & great location) and Medici felt like something out of a book (a Tuscan beauty).

[Returning guest] We had a wonderful trip, and the apartments were excellent. As with other trips, the great experiences were largely based on having safe/beautiful places to stay with support from very nice locals including Maurizio in Florence. Since you know I always love the Medici apartment, I will not go into any detail [see Nov 2004 comment below]. We did tour a number of museums, galleries, cathedrals, etc. and all were worthwhile in their own way, and all uniquely beautiful. Alessia took us up to Fiesole the second night in Florence (always gorgeous vistas from up there and great food at a local restaurant). She also drove us through the Chianti region and to several of the towns - Grevi in Chianti, the neighboring mountain village, and that big monastery to the south (up on the hill) just before you start back into Florence. To us, getting out of Florence was as enjoyable as being in it, as the countryside is so beautiful.
Shopping was great with Maurizio and we just loved his company. We would have never found the Prada outlet - no signs, etc. and The Mall wasn't too busy the day we went. Those two stops will always be on my 'list' of things, but it is a full day commitment as you know and not for the "faint of heart" shopper. We came home with some good 'finds' from the day. Some of the things that we loved included some simple little things - the very 'local' feel of the Rose Garden below Piazzale Michalengelo which was a refreshing (although steep) walk; taking the backstreets, other side of the Arno, and using a little compass to stay 'on track' rather than always going thru the throngs on the Ponte Vecchio; walking through Boboli Gardens; buying produce locally for great salads in the apartment; and all of the good food including café, pizza and gelato (We loved "Yellow Bar" - a locals pizzeria in the old historic area of Florence, which was alive with young people and great pizza).

Our stay at the Medici was perfect. The location was simply fabulous. Not only was it breathtaking to drink my coffee next to the city wall every morning (which was, by the way, adorned with beautiful blossoming flowers and enahnced with the songs of the many bird species living in the Boboli), but the park system just off Machievelli was also beautiful and in full bloom. A perfect place to stay near enough to the city ti walk, but away from the hustle and bustle. I would typically rise early and head out of the hills to buy breakfast and dinner provisions. We would then head out for sight seeing and have a big lunch out. Late afternoon we would hang out in the parks or cuddle on the couch as a family and watch movies. A bottle of wine and dinner after the kids collapsed was perfect. My kids also want me to tell you that the the sidewalk by the house was great for scooter races.

We had a wonderful time in Florence and just LOVED the apartment! It was exactly as you represented on the website - perfect for the four of us. The website pictures were great - as we were able to orient ourselves from them. I really appreciated the detailed instructions that you had provided - on everything, such as the washing machine, etc. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and it felt like a home with all of the extra amenities - very neat to have some movies to watch, and some Italian CDs to listen to- we read a couple of the books that people had left, and left one ourselves for the next group - the back patio looking up at the wall is such a great feature! The location of the Medici is perfect - the area is so lovely, it was neat to be in a residential area as opposed to a "tourist" area, it was quiet, but not so far away that we couldn't easily walk into the cityevery day. I also really loved the shutters - I have never seen shutters like that before - really a gorgeous building. We had a really wonderful trip and so enjoyed our stay at the Medici apartment. If we are lucky enough to be able to do another trip to Florence, we will book the Medici again, for sure!

We really enjoyed the location of the Medici apartment and would stay there again. However, we think we would never go during the summer or warmer seasons. Maybe we were lucky with the weather, but we didn't mind the cold. While there were crowds at places, the scene wasn't as my friends had described their summer visit. My adult children [23 & 20] felt a bit close at times, but I never did. For me the space and accommodations were fine. We cooked some meals, played cards, watched TV, etc. And Maria Victoria was lovely- sorry we did not get to say goodbye. I think you run a first rate business. We loved the Porta Romana area, glad we were off the main drag. I so hope we will be able to stay in one of your properties again.

We can't wait to return and will have to decide if we will go back to the apartment on via della Madonna della Pace or stay in one of your other apartments. We had a wonderful time in Florence and at the Medici apartment. October is the perfect month to spend in Florence, or at least it was this year. The days were golden---warm and sunny beyond all expectations---and the apartment was quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed late morning breakfasts on the patio several times and couldn't get over the fact that is was late October, not June. We cooked dinner at home almost every night and enjoyed long evenings at the dinner table talking and reliving the events of the day.

I just wanted to send you a quick note of appreciation regarding my stay at the Medici apartment last week. What wonderful accomodations and exactly as described on the web site! Getting up each morning and walking into town to explore various markets and cultural attractions made for a memorable trip. I especially enjoyed being located in the Oltrarno (pleasantly much less crowded than the historic part of town) and near the peaceful grounds of the Art Institute & Boboli Gardens. The daily market, restaurants, shops, and Internet cafe near Piazza Santo Spirito were enough to keep us busy the entire week. The picturesque walk to the Piazzale Michangelo would also be a perfect running route. After a long day in the city, however, it was always nice to return to the comfortable, quiet Medici apartment.
Much thanks to Maria who got us situated and prepared a delicious Tuscan feast as well as to Stefano who arranged our day trip into Tuscany with our driver Franco. I hope to be back to the Medici-- or another one of your properties-- sometime soon. Thanks so much!

We loved the Medici apartment. I loved the Bobolino neighborhood, being so close to the center of everything but yet not in the "fray." The apartment felt like home from the first minute. There were dozens of roses blooming in front, the neighborhood little kids were waiting on their bikes to see who was coming and Maria Vittoria was there waiting. The birds singing in the morning and the sunlight beaming through the windows as we opened the shutters each day was wonderful. It's a very quick ride to the centro storico on the bus, barely 10 minutes. The stay in the apartment gave me a new appreciation of Florence and what a wonderful city it is.

Lisa, thank you for making the Medici apartment available for humble travelers like us. We have just returned from an amazing 10-day stay in Florence, the wealth of history this city holds is astounding and we did not see or feel it all, so alas we will have to return soon!
The Medici Apartment was a perfect backdrop to this city a peaceful home set in a tranquil neighbourhood outside the Roman Wall. We chose to explore on foot so we set off each morning through the Istituto d’Arte then on to Via Romana, all our senses were delighted every step of the way. Some days we spent 6-7 hours out and about, we never felt tired. At the end of the day we walked back through the Istituto d’Arte with our load of local produce, back to Bobolino our little oasis bursting with spring. We ate our simple meals in the living room with the sun streaming through the open window listening to the bees on the Wisteria and the church bells ringing in the background. Heaven…
All the information you provided was very useful and comprehensive, so much so that it made it a lot easier and quicker for us to settle in to our home for 10 days and to just get on and enjoy this beautiful city. I will be recommending this apartment and your company to any one who wishes to travel to Florence or Italy in the future. Grazie mille

I’ve just returned from a week in Florence at the Medici Apartment with Martha Morningstar and our group from Baltimore. The apartment was wonderful. Maurizio and Maria Vittoria delightful and helpful. I wanted to tell you personally how much I enjoyed our stay. I was just in Florence last September in a pretty nice hotel and I can tell you that staying at the apartment in the Bobolino was, as the kids say, “the bomb!” Hope to stay with you in the future—as soon as we can save up our pennies!

Maurizio and Maria Vittoria delightful and helpful. I wanted to tell you personally how much I enjoyed our stay. I was just in Florence last September in a pretty nice hotel and I can tell you that staying at the apartment in the Bobolino was, as the kids say, “the bomb!” Hope to stay with you in the future—as soon as we can save up our pennies!

Florence was truly magical. We had such a wonderful experience while in Italy. The Medici apartment was really great...everything was just like it looked on your website. We all were so impressed with the apartment...it was so clean and well stocked for living. I can't tell you how nice it was to have a "home" to return to each evening after exploring the city. We used every inch of the Medici including from cooking in the kitchen to soaking up the morning Tuscan sun out back on the patio. The location was ideal for us.....off the beaten path yet close enough to "town" to be in the scene if we chose to be. We made friends with the local merchants and the lovely couple next door. Thank you so much for the 5th bed in the living room-what a nice surprise for us to have that instead of the air mattress.

The Medici apartment is really a find. What a location! When the sun came out the next day, the tower and wall against that blue sky were to die for. The kitchen worked out great for my needs -- I was happy at how many pots and pans and other implements you had, and produced a Christmas dinner of roast chicken, risotto, and salad. It was just as you would imagine an Italy apartment to be, tall ceilings, arched windows that open in and shutters that open out, tile floors, very comfortable. We all wanted to live there forever.

It gave us a perspective and experience we otherwise would not have gotten. The weather was spectacular all week which allowed me the joy of sitting each morning on the lovely terrace - listening to the birds, the church bells tolling and the sounds of a flute from a nearby neighbor! My son, Jarrod and I walked everywhere, everyday and for me a week was not long enough - as just when I thought we had seen it all, there was another corner left unturned only to find in front of us another breathtaking scene! The quiet charming neighborhood was a nice change of pace from the bustle of the city, yet so very close via public transit. It was nice to wake up to the birds singing each morning. We did get more of a feel for Italian life there with the cute neighborhood and the produce vendors. The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the tapes and movies also. Thank you for the bottles of wine at each place, we enjoyed them very much. We also liked renting a car while there and having somewhere to park it. Going out the Via Senese to the Chianti Region was wonderful and so very close. All the restaurant recommendations were right on the money and we enjoyed trying many of them. Thank you for offering such nice properties with detailed instructions on everything. It takes the stress out of traveling being so well informed and having great landlord contacts while staying there. On our return to Italy some day we will definitely look into other properties you have.

The culture, the art, the architecture, and the charm of Firenze were overwhelming and the Medici provided a warm respite from the hectic pace of absorbing so much in seven days; much better than being in a hotel surrounded by tourists.
Your confirmation form, which included invaluable information about Firenze, everything from arrival directions to Gym facilities, was put to good use. Very nicely done. The only fault we had with any of our Italy trip was the fact that it is over.

The Medici apartment in Florence has reinforced my feeling that rentals are the ONLY way to go if you plan at least 4-5 days in one location. I know it's not feasible for most apartment rental services to let apartments for 1-2 days, but I think that, unfortunately, the majority of travelers frequently move around a lot and have minimal stays in most places.
I am now in the process of promoting your service to a few co-workers and friends who are planning Italy trips, and particulary suggesting that a Florence apartment is the way to go since Rome and Venice are so nearby via train trips for the day. I will be checking out your Web site again to be able to give more comprehensive advice. Maurizio let us know that your sister runs a ParisPerfect rental service as well.

We absolutely adored staying at your Medici apartment in Florence. The location is terrific - quiet, yet close to groceries and bus stops (though it's not a bad walk to the center). The rooms are very nicely decorated and the kids loved having movies to watch at night. The kitchen was very adequately outfitted (enough that my husband was able to make us all incredible pasta dinners most nights). And, actually, I believe that was the highlight of our trip for him: practicing his (minimal) Italian to gather the day's groceries from the friendly local markets. And Lisa made it all the arrangements go smoothly and easily. Highly recommend.

Our family of 4 (1 small child and mother in law) had a wonderful experience at the Medici Apartment during our visit in Florence. The apartment was very clean and well furnished. Our contact person in Florence was extremely helpful and was ALWAYS available by phone. It is also extremely QUIET which is a blessing at night.
