A final report on our stay in Italy. Everything connected with ItalyPerfect could not have gone better. Although I couldn't reach Maurizio from Paris (the cell phone I rented--excellent in every other regard--only started functioning within Italy), he was very good humored about the slight confusion and, in fact, about everything else. He is a particularly charming man, and we had a chance to talk as I waited for a taxi on the day we left Florence. The house was exactly as advertised and the envy of friends who joined us for lunch from Cortona one
day and London the next. I like the Berchielli Hotel on the Arno, but it was a treat to expand in a house, especially one so splendidly located.

Thanks so much for your welcome home note, your efficient and thorough handling of our rental process, and the thoughtful message you left on my cell phone.  Indeed, we did have a wonderful time!  And the house was a perfect place to stay - the location couldn't be better and Maurizio was a fantastic and charming host. Of course he gave his wife all the credit, but he had flowers, fruit, gelato, and all those helpful hints waiting for us when we arrived after a very long day of travel. He gave us a very thorough tour of the house with clear instructions about how to use every appliance, the safe and alarm system, and where to find everything we might possibly need during our stay.  And of course, he took great care of us again by meeting us at the house the last day and ordering a cab to ensure we made it to the airport on time. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk back to the house every afternoon for a little respite from touristing before going back out for dinner.  We found ourselves wanting to have many of our meals on the less crowded Oltrarno side, and there certainly were plenty of good restaurants open despite the holiday month. We also spent a bit of relaxed time up at Forte Belvedere (only a short walk further up the hill), enjoying the views and gorgeous sunsets. I don't think Sarah could have had a better 30th birthday trip. I've already told my husband that we need to plan a trip back to Florence, and we will definitely want to stay at the Casetta Bonsi again!

We had a fantastic trip, and totally loved the Casetta.  The Oltrarno is definitely the neighborhood for me, and I can't wait to be back and explore it further.  That steep little climb up the Costa Magnoli is the only thing that kept us from weighing 1200 pounds by the time we left - we dined exceedingly well every single day, and put quite a dent in the wine supply of Italia.
 
The Mirandas could not have been more helpful, and we finally got to meet Maurizio on the day we left.  What a charming, gracious man...   He made our dinner reservations at Osteria di Giovanni for our final night, and it's a good thing we ate there last.....otherwise we would have had no money left to spend on anything else.....would have eaten there lunch and dinner every single day. 
 
Thanks so much for all your help in getting things set up, and I may be contacting you again for some friends who are traveling to Italy this Fall.

We have rented vacation apartments and houses before and have never felt quite so welcome as we did at the Casetta. Every room of the house was prepared for our arrival but the most touching of all was the care that Gabriella took in making up our son’s crib—the soft blankets and sheets carefully folded in place. We loved the neighborhood—so close to everything, and yet slightly apart—and we loved the Casetta. Our 18-month old liked nowhere in Florence so much as your house! He could have been eternally happy sitting on the little stool in the kitchen eating his snacks and growling at the lion fountain outside on the terrace. His parents were equally extolled with the very comfy bed, the exquisite cookie selection and...everything else. We especially loved the location; this felt like “our own corner of Florence”. We are indebted to Maurizio for steering us to Antica Mescita San Niccolò; we loved Rifrullo for morning cappuccino and pastries to strenghten us for the walk to San Miniato. Every day we spent here was a treasure to us. Thank you!!

Florence in this house was great! Staying in the Casetta made us all feel like we were real Florentines! It was very convenient and not too far from anywhere we went. The comfy beds were great also. Thank you so much for the fruit, nuts, cake and wine. It was very thoughtful of you. We enjoyed them very much. Thanks again!
