Overlooking the Arno river and Oltrarno area, enjoy memorable views and a location right in the heart of the historic center.
There is a chance that the building facade will undergo some construction work during 2012. We don't yet know the exact dates, but if there is scaffolding on the building during your stay we will refund 15% of the rent.
The apartment is located in the most central historic center location. You can be at the entrance to the Uffizi Gallery in just two minutes, stroll the Ponte Vecchio at your doorstep. Enjoy the convenience of a location that is second to none when it comes to views and acessibility to the sites.
The apartment building is on tiny Piazza del Pesce at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio bridge. This area was heavily damaged during World War II, and while the Ponte Vecchio was spared, many of the buildings on either side of the bridge, including several 14th century houses that were on this piazza facing the loggia to the Uffizi along the Arno river, were destroyed. Post-war this area was completely rebuilt, including the building within which the Memoria apartment is located. So what the building lacks in Renaissance architectural embellishments, it makes up for in views, light and modern conveniences which are often not found in many of Florence's historic buildings, where refurbishment is limited by ancient structures.
Sunlight streams through the completely unobstructed windows and views from the living room, dining room and both bedrooms. The apartment is roomy and very comfortable, furnished to a very high standard. The living room is large and graciously appointed with two sofas and three comfortable armchairs. Parquet floors throughout the living room and dining room/study. Wall-to-wall terrace doors are southward facing and open out onto a small terrace. The terrace is delightful for taking in the stunning views of the Arno and Oltrarno views. It is furnished with a table and two chairs. There is a TV with satellite in the living room.
Off the living room is a combination dining room/study with a large window with stunning views and. An expandable dining table can seat up to 12 people. A double size sofa bed in this room can sleep two children or one adult. There is also a small desk in this room, a handy workspace if needed.
The master bedroom has a dual king size bed which can be prepared together or individually as two twin beds, wall-to-wall closet with lots of storage space and polished terrazzo floors. The second bedroom has two twin beds (not combinable), also with ample closet space and hardwood floors.
Off the hallway are two bathrooms. One with toilet, sink, shower. The other with bathtub with shower sprayer attachment, toilet, sink, bidet.
There is air conditioning in the living room, dining room, both bedrooms and the kitchen. Because the apartment gets full afternoon sun, it can get quite warm in the height of the summer season, when A/C is essential. There are screens on the bedroom windows.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large refrigerator, separate freezer, dishwasher, microwave, 5-burner gas stove, electric oven, Italian espresso pot and drip coffee maker, toaster. The laundry room has a washer, dryer and sink.

| Spectacular Apartment right on the Arno | Apr 2012 |
The was by far the best accommodations in all of Florence. The Memoria apartment was at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio. Located on the fourh floor, it has panoramic views of the Arno River, the Ponte Vecchio and the Boboli Gardens. We were able to visit many areas on foot and took a few day trips to Siena and Lucca. The S.M. Novella Firenze train station was a 10 minute walk and much easier than renting a car. Some of the needed details for a stay would be that there is a grocery store right on the opposite side of the Ponte Vecchio (Conad) for household supplies and the heat should be turned on about 20 minutes before you need hot water for showering. We recommend Tratorria Nella for dinner and if time allows, a tour or the wineries and a cooking class. Shopping at the San Lorenzo market for personal items and at the Mercado Market for food are also a must. Italy Perfect was excellent and a pleasure to work with. We were met by Lucca on our arrival and he went through the apartment thoroughly so that we would be familiar with the accommodations. The apartment was furnished beautifully. The size was excellent and comfortable accommodated four adults. There was a small elevator so one person at a time but very reliable service. Upon leaving Lucca returned to ensure all was in order. Again, very efficient and hassle free. We would certainly refer friends and family to Italy Perfect and have done so already. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. |

| Perfect Apartment | Sep 2011 |
This apartment really helped make our visit to Florence absolutely perfect. It was quite large, well equipped and simply but very elegantly furnished; the key however, was the location. Located right on the Ponte Vecchio, it affords a visitor the comfort of roaming the streets of Florence and knowing you could never possibly not figure out how to get home. Everything from Memoria is so incredibly convenient and accessible, it makes this walking city even more enticing and enjoyable. We loved every moment outside, but were always thrilled to come back to the comfort (and the amazing terrace with incredible view) of our lovely home away from home. The staff at ItalyPerfect really outdid themselves, and I am already looking forward to returning to Memoria soon. Pat, Lisa and their contact Francesca are all thoughtful and thorough, and my confidence in them was well-rewarded with one of the best vacations of my life! |

| Wonderful Accomodation and Amazing Location | Sep 2011 |
We spent one week at Memoria and thought it was wonderful. We have 3 older teenagers and there was more than enough room for everyone. The apartment was very well appointed, and had all the staples and kitchen implements we needed. It provided a wonderful opportunity to have a lighter breakfast and lunch if we wanted. All appliances were excellent, the kids loved the high speed internet, and in August, the air conditioning was a welcome feature. It was a perfect location for everything--restaurants, night life, Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace and all the Florence attractions. We frequented the local grocery store daily and picked up great fruits and breads. An absolutely perfect location and superior accommodation. |

| Memoria | Jul 2011 |
I cannot begin to describe how absolutely perfect this apartment was -- I have already asked to reserve it for when my daughter spends a college semester in Florence, which won't be for 8 years. It was stunningly spacious for and Italian apartment, the view from the terrace was incredible, and the location made for easy travel anywhere because you couldn't get lost getting home since you are sitting on top of the Ponte Vecchio. I really wish we could have stayed longer! The ice cream shop outside the door to the left is wonderful, the grocery store across the bridge to the left is amazingly abundant (get the mortadella and the burrata, please!), and food in Florence beat anything we had anywhere else in Italy. We liked Due Sorelle (a little higher end) and loved Osteria al Cinghiale Biancho. Note to visitors to outdoor restaurants because we saw a lot of people do this -- please do not walk in and just sit down at a random outside table, the waitstaff HATES that and will show you just how much in their own special way. Final note, the Uffizi now offers a membership called Amici degli Uffizi which is invaluable. You get to walk into the office, pick up a darling membership card with your name on it and then go right to the front of the entrance line, which on our day looked to be over two hours waiting. It also affords you the same opportunity at Accademia, just you go to the reservations line and wait for a short while there, which again saved us about an hour in waiting. If you add up the cost of the membership against your entry fees you are ahead of the game, both financially and timewise. Overall, an amazing trip, cannot wait to return. |

| Memoria apartment at the Ponte Vecchio | Jul 2011 |
With approximately 1,200 square feet, two separate bedrooms, a separate dining room with a sofa/bed couch for additional sleeping, a lovely light filled living room with veranda (overlooking the Ponte Vecchio, Vasari corridor and the Arno River with views to Pizzale Michelangelo), full sized kitchen with all of the modern appliances, and, BONUS, a separate laundry room. Oh, and I forgot to mention two separate bathrooms. While this location could be a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, the double walled windows and door kept out most of it, and the AC units in each room were really appreciated and provided great relief from the heat and humidity. Even if the day was warm, with the location on the river and the cross ventilation, there was always a breeze in the apartment. Back to location, excellent for walking to all of the sights. Heck, the Ufizzi was right next door, the Pitti Palace just over the bridge, the Piazza Della Signoria was right around the block, as was the Straw Market, the Piazza Republica and of course, the Duomo, Baptistry and Bell Tower. Our local rental agent, Francesca, was most helpful and available if we needed anything. And, we enjoyed the weekly cleaning service provided so that made us feel more like we were on vacation. The Conad grocery store is conveniently located right across the bridge and has a wonderful bakery and deli section with ready made items - quick and tasty. I have to say my experience renting with Italy Perfect receives an A+ grade. I found Pat and Lisa to be very responsive and helpful, and totally prepared us for just about any and all concerns including using/renting a phone in Italy, best way to obtain Euors (ATM), etc., etc. If I have a future opportunity, I would most certainly select and recommend Italy Perfect to all my friends. |

| Memoria Apartment, Florence | May 2011 |
The accommodation was excellent. It was very well equipped with normal household things, but I would request a better kettle, a more modern TV and to have face cloths (as a traveller I don't like having my own wet facecloth packed). Also very good to have window screens. Nice to be able to open the windows without letting insects in. We already knew the location and that was a factor in choosing Memoria. Perhaps a basic map showing local grocery shops would be helpful. Also an indication of where bus stops are for which number bus. (for example to get to the station) As Memoria is very central to sites it would not be necessary to indicate where they are. Yes, I would recommend Memoria to a friend, but the cost might be prohibitive. It was particularly useful to have a representative meet us there and explain the workings of the various appliances, which she did very well. Overall, a most enjoyable stay |

| A gem by the Arno | May 2011 |
The pictures do not do the appt justice. The balcony and view out over the river and the Pont Vecchio on a sunny afternoon with a glass of wine is one life's ahhh moments. The location is excellent, close to everything including a grocery store just across the river. The only hitch was when the city turned off the water one evening - appearantly this happens with some regularity without warning. Francescia was a great resource and even arranged a taxi for us at 5am for us to catch our early flight. We would recommend this appartment to anybody who wants to be in the heart of the city and next door to a great gelato shop as well. |

| We loved our stay at Memoria | May 2011 |
This apartment is all about the view and the location. Everyday, it was a privilege to wake up and go to sleep seeing the view of the Ponte Vecchio, Vasari Corridor and the Arno River. EVERYTHING is at your doorstep. Frank, whose wife owns the apartment is a wonderful guy and unbelievably helpful. While, there were a few things that did go wrong (no water one night, internet problems and the dryer didn't work) everything was taken care of as soon as possible. The apartment is furnished satisfactorily. It isn't a hotel so, if, you are interested in a Four Seasons or a Ritz...this isn't for you. It is, however, roomy and comfortable with tons of charm. The kitchen is very useable and having the dining area (convertible third bedroom) is a pleasure. The TV works great, especially after Frank showed us how to get channels in English. There is also a CD Pla For an extended stay this place is wonderful (we were there for a month). We felt like real "natives" and it was great to be able to have lunch or dinner at home , instead of going out for every meal. Overall, as you can tell, we loved our stay at Memoria. |
