"Perfect area of Trastevere with a taste of real Italian living" |
| Cute Confection of an Apartment |
Historic Trastevere is loaded with old-world charm, scenic atmosphere, wonderful restaurants, and an artsy vibe dating back centuries. Quipped one Italy Perfect guest, "If there was a spot in New York where Soho, Tribeca and the Village converged, its Roman equivalent would be Trastevere". The petite Rondine apartment gives you a rich Rome experience at a budget price.
Trastevere is a popular central Roman neighborhood. At its heart is a lively, locals village that is popular for strolling and dining of an evening. Many popular restaurants and bars host Romans and tourists alike. It has a left-bank, bohemian character and is popular with students. At the ba
The Rondine apartment is tucked away on small cobble stoned side street. An archway in a wall at one end with a shrine to the Madonna marks the top of the street.
The apartment building where the Rondine apartment is located has about 20 apartments in it. The street is lined with planter boxes and trellised vines. The apartment is towards the back of the building on the ground floor. The large window in the apartment faces the adjacent side street.
We dubbed this apartment "Rondine" which is the Italian word for swallow, a cute little bird so the name befits this small, cute apartment. Rondine are much-admired in Rome, you can often spot them at sunset swooping and diving over the Piazzas. They flock in ever-changing clouds, fascinating and beautful.
The apartment is ideal for those on a budget who don't want to compromise on location. While small in scale you can easily pay a lot more for a tiny Rome hotel room in an inferior location and not enjoy the benefit of a living room area and your own kitchen.
Enter the apartment and the kitchenette is directly to the right. It has a 2-burner electric stove, microwave, toaster, under-counter refrigerator. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils are provided. A kitchen counter with two stools is a handy eating area and it visually divides the living room and kitchen. The living room has a small sofa that opens up to accommodate one person. One the opposite wall are storage cupboards that hold the dishes. On the wall is a flat-screen TV.
A large window on the far wall admits light to both levels of the apartment. Up 10 steps to the bedroom where there is a queen size bed, bedside tables, reading lamps. A clothes rack with hangars and a shelf above and below is in the corner of the bedroom.
The bathroom just beyond the bed has a sink, toilet, bidet and shower with a shower curtain enclosure.

| A welcomed retreat at the end of our days walking the city | Oct 2011 |
What a quaint neighborhood we have lived in this past week! And our apartment has been a welcomed retreat at the end of our days walking the city. It's in a perfect location! We feel like we have "lived" among the locals. Thank you for a cozy stay!! Hope to come back to Rome and stay here again. |

| Rondine Apt. | May 2011 |
The Apartment was in a perfect area of Trastevere with a taste of real Italian living.. Tiny but clean and modern. I will say it is best if two people occupy the apt..and they can sleep on the upper level..Opening the sofa bed made it very tight.. but overall..we loved it. we had fun in Trastevere and so convenient to all of Rome..I will certainly use Italy Perfect again and recommend to friends and family.. |
