One block from the Via Veneto, this apartment has more than just location. It has has all the modern amenities vacationers or business travelers want.

You will want for nothing in this neat and clean apartment in a wonderful location in the heart of fashionable Rome. The Via Veneto remains the place to be seen, whether you are strolling and enjoying the window displays of the fashionable shops, or sipping a drink in the cafes that line the street. Fine restaurants abound in the neighborhood. Some of the grandest hotels in the city can also be found nearby.

Location

The Borghese Gardens, one of Rome's largest public parks, is just two blocks away so if you want to stroll, jog, or bicycle, it is very convenient. And if you have children, this is a great place to take them. Two of Rome's most famous museums, the Villa Borghese and Villa Giulia, are just a few minutes walk from the apartment.

You are right at the top of the winding Via Veneto, near the Porta Pinciana gate of the ancient Roman walls. Stroll down the Via Veneto past myriad cafes, to Piazza Barberini and its Triton fountain.

This is on a cross street to Via Veneto, intersecting next to the Metro (subway)station entrance. The Metro will whisk you off to places such as the Coliseum and the train station. And through the station escalators, you have an easy link to the Spanish Steps, which is your gateway to even more fashion shopping, more restaurants, and the Trevi fountain. Beyond are the Via del Corso, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo dei Fiori areas. Estimate fifteen minutes walk to the Spanish Steps and fifteen to twenty minutes more to the Campo dei Fiori with many sights to see in between.

Exterior

The Via Veneto apartment is in a fine old building. You can appreciate the heavy door and a spacious entry area. A hairdresser is on the ground floor, very convenient.

Interior

Although the streets in this area carry their share of local traffic, this apartment is internal and the street noise does not reach you here. Each room -- living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom -- has a window onto the internal courtyard. There is nothing to remark in the view because of the neighboring buildings.

The comfortably-sized living room is furnished with micro-suede covered sofa and matching easy chair, coffee table, desk and chair, an entry table, and an entertainment center that contains a satellite television and DVD player.

WiFi is included.

The separate, eat-in kitchen has all you need to prepare and serve a lovely meal. There is, uniquely, a full height refrigerator with a freezer that will hold more than ice trays. A four burner gas cook top, oven, and microwave offer multiple cooking options. Make your coffee with a drip coffee maker or an Italian espresso pot. Pots, pans, utensils and dishes are all there as well as a dishwasher to clean them up.

A single hallway links living room to bedroom, running past the kitchen and bath. The living room has a door so it can be closed off for privacy and quiet if some of your party will be sleeping on the sofa beds

The bathroom has a shower stall and a stacked washer and dryer.

The bedroom is comfortably sized with a queen sized bed, television which receives local channels, full length mirror and closet.

Reviews and Customer Testimonials for Italy Vacation Rental

Our Review

• Very comfortable, well appointed apartment. It even has a clothes dryer which is a rare find in Italy

•  Easy walk to the Spanish Steps, proximity to the Borghese Gardens and metro (subway) are a nice benefit

•  The apartment does not get direct sun due to internal facing windows but this makes it quiet for sleeping.

•  Although generally quiet, when there is a soccer playoff or the finals of the San Remo music festival people turn on the TV, invite their friends and show their spirit. This is true in every apartment in every neighborhood in Italy; don't believe that any apartment in a city in Italy is totally quiet all the time. That is impossible if there are Italians in the building. So, very occasionally you'll have an evening when you can hear the neighbors. The windows are double-glazed so that does dampen those occasional celebrations.

•  There is nothing interesting to see out the windows; they face an internal courtyard that is wide; so you can see other windows across the way but won't find someone looking in on you or vice versa.

• Two grocery stores within two blocks are and coffee bar across the street is convenient not only for morning cappuccino but also for buying bus tickets and phone cards

• We stay at this apartment ourselves quite often since it has everything we like and need.

Guest Book Testimonials
Via Veneto Apartment in Rome May 2012

We really enjoyed our stay in the lovely little apartment. We stayed with our two boys, ages 6 and 8. They LOVED the tiny elevator and enjoyed riding with the luggage while we walked down! It was in a quiet but pricey neighborhood, but once we figured out how to use the buses we were all set. We also quickly decided to cook breakfast at home in the small bu well-appointed kitchen due to the cost of the surrounding cafes!

We also walked to and from many of the sights in the City without too much trouble. Loved being close to Villa Borghese and the beautiful Borghese Gardens. Within a block of the apartment were the world's greatest coffee, Taza del Oro (went there every day!), a fabulous bakery with many, many gluten-free options, and a yummy pizza-by-the-slice place which my 6-year-old could not get enough of.

We would definitely stay here again and we would recommend Italy Perfect highly. We had all of our questions answered and everything was as we expected.

Wish we were still there! Mar 2012

The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed. We made good use of the kitchen and the laundry facilities! I would definitely stay there again, or recommend to a friend. As we were there in winter, one concern we'd had ahead of time was about keeping warm enough in an older building -- but in fact the apartment was kept quite toasty with radiant heat.

The Spar Market around the corner and the Pomodoro restaurant at the end of the block were both handy and helpful for when we wanted a quick meal without having to search out a fancy restaurant.

The neighborhood is quite upmarket, with several awesome sites to see within a few blocks (don't miss the Galleria Borghese!) We did a lot of walking, and made use of the metro to visit sites further away (like the Colosseum and Vatican). Also took a day trip out to Ostia Antica, which was well worth the journey, and very easy to get to.

The only difficulty we had was with sticky deadbolts -- nearly found ourselves locked out a couple of times, which necessitated a call to Rene for a work-around.

I actually already have recommended Italy Perfect to a couple of friends who are thinking about trips to Rome.

Great Apartment Dec 2011

The apartment was well equipped and in a great location. The greeter, Rene, was very helpful.

We will definitely stay here again.

Pat was great sending through lots of information for our stay in Rome.

great little apartment Dec 2011

This apartment although not in the very heart of things,is in a very good safe area, and if you are reasonably fit and enjoy walking, you can walk almost anywhere you need ,to see the sights. However there is a metro stop 8-10 mins away if you need it.

The kitchen is very well equipped ,and has everything you need to cook for yourself.Everything was clean.

Hairdryer, iron and board all provided.

The bathroom was also well equipped ,having a washer and a dryer, however I found the shower a little awkward. It had 2 fixed shower heads, neither of which seemed "right",however we managed.

The bedroom has lots of storage room and the bed was very comfortable. The room is also quiet,so you can sleep well.

Nearby, there is a small supermarket, and also several restaurants where the food is good. We ate at Pomodorino a couple of times, and also at Marco's.

The information sent beforehand is comprehensive, and the "greeter" was waiting for us as planned ,and was very helpful, answering our questions.

I have to say,I felt the sitting room ,on first opening the door, was smaller than I had anticipated from the photo, but actually was fine.Internet access was good.

If the apartment was mine, however,I would make it a 2 person only apartment, and replace the converter lounge/bed with a proper, really comfy couch !!

Overall,we had a good time in this apartment. Thank you.

[Thank you, Jan. It was a pleasure to work with you. The Via Veneto is a central location for Rome, but next time we can find you a place in a more bustling location!]

Perfect for us Oct 2011

The apartent in Pointe Vecchio was perfect for us.  We were celebrating our 50th anniversary on a tour through Italy and looking for an apartment that represented Italy, not an Ameicanized ideal of Italy.  This was just what we wanted.  We walked everywhere and enjoyed every moment there.  The crowds were heavy but the apartment, even thought just steps away from the Point Vechio bridge, was quiet.

Patrizia's was very helpful and explained how the Italy appliances work different than the US ones.  She taught us how to make coffee the Italian way, which we loved!  Her recommendations for places "where the locals dine" were all excellent.  She also got us reservations for the Academia to see David.

Nice apartment in nice location Oct 2011

We enjoyed staying in this apartment for a week in September 2011. The rooms are all roomy and nicely furnished. Having a washer/drier is a great convenience. The couch was comfortable for siting and sleeping (I sometimes snore.) Mostly quiet though a few nights we heard conversation or tv noise late, but this was solved by turning on the air conditioner (nice that there are separate controls for the living room and bedroom.) The location was good, on a pleasant street with good restaurants. For us, it was walking distance to many tourist sites, (we like to walk,) though it's a good hike to the Coloseum or Vatican, and we sometimes took a cab home at the end of the day. Wifi worked well. In short, we loved it, and would be happy to stay here again when we return to Rome.

Home away from home, but still on vacation... Sep 2011

My entire family loved this apartment. Lets start with the greeter. She was lovely. She waited despite the delay in our flight. She explained everything in full detail. The apartment had everything we could need. It even had an american out let. What a treat. The refrigerator was a regular size and fabulous. The bedroom was a perfect size and comfortable. The location was perfect. Quiet. You can walk to restaurants, transportation, and anything you may wish. Our favorite little out of the way restaurant was Il Boscaiolo on Via delgli. Perfect for that first night in. For a nice meal out and a needed reservation try Restorante Vechhia Roma. For the Best Gelato is San Crispino by Trevi Fountain. The Beauty is the apartment makes all of this easy to get to. I would stay here again and will recommend to all my friends.

Just Perfect! Sep 2011

The experience of staying in this apartment was even better than the descriptions we had read online, and our discussions with Italy Perfect prior to our trip.

LOCATION: The apartment is just one block off the top of the Via Veneto in a great area with access to everything: just two blocks from the Villa Borghese Park, and easy walking distance to many of the top sites including the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza del Popolo, and others. Actually, twice in our stay in Rome we even walked back to the apartment after dinner in Trastevere on the other side of the Tiber River - a walk that took about 1.5 hours, but was completely doable and enjoyable (there is nothing like walking in Rome at night!). Rome is so manageable in its size, and you really see more of the city's character if you walk everywhere. But just in case, you can access the metro after a 5+ minute downhill walk from the apartment.

THE BUILDING/APARTMENT ITSELF: Just as described, although we didn't realize how upscale the building actually was before we got there. There was lots of security and we felt very safe in the building. We also loved that quaint European elevator! Inside the apartment, there were two beds in the living room (for our two, good-sized teenagers), a separate bedroom with large bed for my wife and myself, a decent sized kitchen, and fine bathroom/shower. Oh yes..we were grateful for the washer and dryer!

THE SERVICE: Lisa/Pat of Italy Perfect were great and very helpful pre-trip. Rosie the "greeter" in Rome was excellent - she speaks perfect English and was very helpful to us. And, we used Italy Perfect's referral to a driver who we booked for our airport/port transfers - STEFANO! He was GREAT - friendly, reliable, and no more expensive than other options (he also gets by quite well in English).

NEAR THE APARTMENT: There were great restaurants and breakfast cafes within a few block radius in all directions from the apartment, as well as a nice wine/gourmet food store about a block away down the same street. Do not miss the Villa Borghese Park - and especially the museum there which you have to book in advance (check it out online). Even my children who are not always museum enthusiasts were mesmerized by this one! You can also rent funky multi-person bicycles and segues in the park.

Otherwise, just walk all over Rome from the apartment...as I said, the whole city is accessible if you like to walk, and you have decent weather.

I would definitely use Italy Perfect again for any future trips. Grazie Mille !

What a Pleasure Jul 2011

Via Veneto was everything that we hoped it would be! The apartment was comfortable, modernized, and easy to use. The building was very attractive and well located clearly in a very upscale neighborhood. All of the conveniences which mattered to us, such as a blow dryer, TV and coffee maker were supplied as well as many other amenities. We heard no outside noise and sleep very well every night. We would return and stay longer given an opportunity. Cheers to Via Veneto!

Marcie, Houston, Texas

We loved this apartment Jul 2011

We loved this apartment. The bedroom was a nice size and the air conditioner worked great. The washer/dryer were wonderful as well. Bathroom had plenty of space. The kitchen was a good size. A bit tight at the table for 4 to eat, but it worked. The refrigerator was a nice size. The living room was nice as well. The apartment building was quiet, clean and in a perfect location. Even the kitchen had U.S. plug outlets. What a thoughtful touch for travelers. I would return to this apartment.

Great location Jun 2011

Well, we had only one night in the Via Veneto apartment due to a large plumbing problem [at a different apartment]. Even with the problem, Lisa handled everything...including my upset, with grace and ease. Thanks Lisa!

[Thank you for your very nice feedback. I was pleased to be able to relocate you quickly and comfortably to the the Via Veneto even if it was only for a short stay when you encountered a plumbing problem at a different apartment. Lisa, Italy Perfect]

Delivers it's promise Jun 2011

A well sited, clean, comfortable, well equipped apartment with accurate photos and description on the web site. The internal looking windows provide adequate daylight and make the whole place very peaceful. The supermarket is nearby and well stocked. We chose it for it's proximity to the gardens and were happy to use buses which were cheap and very frequent to get us to the sites.

The apartment was ideal for us May 2011

My adult daughter booked a Rome Cabs transfer from the airport and our fabulous week in Rome was off to a great start. We drove past the Colosseum and more and Rene , our greeter, was waiting for us. The apartment was ideal for us..terrific location as we walked everywhere and took the Metro only twice, to the Vatican and back!

There was a little supermarket around the corner and we found out quickly you need to weigh and price your fruit before you get to the checkout.

There were two escellent restaurants nearby La Bruschetta and La Pomodorino and we ate at each one twice. We ate at home as well as the food shopping was so much fun and the food was wonderful. All food was great everywhere actually!

The only small issue we had was that the bed in the lounge room was rock hard and not very comfortable. Everything else was just fabulous in the apartment. There were books to read and a few staples in the pantry and umbrellas and washing powder and ice cubes and lots of things that made it a very welcoming place to stay.

All the paperwork was excellent and very helpful and we started every day by walking down the Via Veneto to the Trevi fountain.. we just had to go there every day on our way to see lots of wonderful sights.

I would recommend Rome Cabs and 7 Hills tours of the Vatican and our very best tour was a Dark Rome tour of the Colosseum and Palatine and Forum. Do not try to see this incredible area alone. We booked Galleria Borghese at 5pm and had a lovely afternoon in the gardens before our visit.

We also bought audio tours in all galleries.. well worth it!

Thanks Italy Perfect and Rene.

Thank you, we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the twin sofa beds in the living room, we have personally inspected and slept on these many times . They are firm, I personally do not find them to be uncomfortable and in reviewing prior guest comments they have have not been an issue with other guests. I've certainly encountered much firmer in my many property inspections throughout Italy. A benefit to this style of sofa bed is that the mattress does not fold in the middle, so is thicker. Excellent location Jan 2011

excellent location. Nice accomodations if a bit noisy in the building itself. Still would stay there again.

Very comfortable for a short or long stay Aug 2010

This is a lovely, meticulously clean, extremely well cared for apartment that is very comfortable for a short or long stay. My wife and I felt immediately at home. It was perfect.

We lived in Rome many years ago and although this is not our favorite neighborhood (a bit over-the-top touristy), it does offer convenience to commonly desired sites to visit in the downtown area and to Metro service.

A small pearl of advice. There are several snack bars in the area and most cater to Americans and tourists. If you exit the apartment and make your first right, just around the corner, next to a dry cleaner, is a small bar that caters more to local clientele and has delicious coffee, morning cornettos and a terrific tavola calda (hot table) lunch at wonderful prices.

Great time in Rome Aug 2010

The Via Veneto apartment worked out just great for us. Loved the location being so close to park which was great for running in the morning. The greeter, Rene, was a fabulous help showing us the apartment and directing us to the market and close restaurants in the neigborhood. My family of four was very comfortable in the apartment and really found the wireless and washer/dryer very handy. With the high cost of hotels in Rome (for very small rooms), there was no comparison.

Via Veneto Jul 2010

We enjoyed our visit to Rome and were very pleased with the apartment. It was such a comfortable, homey respite after long days of touring. The location was wonderful and convenient to the Metro and shopping. The apartment building and neighbourhood were very quiet. Having the luxury of making coffee in the morning along with breakfast gave each day a fresh, relaxing start. The apartment was well-stocked and meeting Rene was such a plus. He was most gratious and was quite informative about the particulars in the apartment as well as the surrounding area. If you enjoy making meals in, we discovered Carrfour for groceries near the Metro. It was a great one-stop-shop for produce, wine, fresh meats and fish. We cannot say enough about Italy Perfect's service, and in particular, Pat; we will certainly call again when we travel to London and Paris next year. Pat provided so much information prior to our travels which saved a lot of time and answered specific questions. Thanks to Pat and Italy Perfect.

The apartment was clean and quiet Jun 2010

The apartment was clean and quiet. Everything worked, including the air conditioning (a fan would have been a nice addition). There was some confusion when we arrived as the greeter was away (we never met him, but he did call after a few days to make sure everything was ok) and had left the keys with the hotel in the same building. It took us awhile to find all the instructions for the various appliances. The location was great with lots of restaurants on the side streets nearby. We walked all over the city and felt very safe even at night.

Respite in Rome Jun 2010

Rob and I are home safe and sound after our wonderful week at Via Veneto.

We appreciated your suggestion of hiring Stefano to drive us from the cruise ship to our lodging. He was waiting for us at the ungodly hour of seven a.m. At the end of our week, he picked us up at five thirty a.m. (groan) to get us to our flight on time.

Rene greeted us and walked us through all the details you had prepared us for in your excellent handout. He was very kind, offering for us to call him if we had any need of help. He checked in with us before we left to be sure that all was going well. We appreciated his advice and assistance.

The apartment was spotless, quiet, and convenient. We made good use of the information you had sent to us at home and also of the many guidebooks left behind by other travellers. It was lovely to be able to go to the apartment for respite after we had walked for hours. We really appreciated how central Via Veneto was to all the tourist sites. Loved that there were minimally ten good restaurants within ten minutes of our apartment!

Our trip to Rome was everything we hoped it would be. We have recommended your company on our trip blog to all of our family and friends and expect that many will use your company in the future.

Sincere thanks,

The apartment was spacious and in a great location for sightseeing May 2010

The Via Veneto apartment was spacious and in a great location for sightseeing.  Stefano provided our [airport] transfer and we would highly recommend him.  Overall, our experience with Italy Perfect was terrific and we would definitely recommend your company to our friends and family.  It was our first trip overseas and also our first experience with apartment rental.  We can't thank you enough for your part in making our trip so enjoyable.

Everything was truly perfect! Mar 2010

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Via Veneto!  Everything was truly perfect!  From the moment we arrived at the airport  until we departed and everything in between was superb -  we could not have asked for a more fabulous vacation.   The apartment was incredibly convenient, well-equipped, and oh so comfortable.  The car service (Stefano), our initial meeting with Rosie, Despar's and the neighborhood restaurants were all wonderful.  We loved the Context Travel tours (Ostia Antica, Vatican, and Roma Antica - Palatine Hill, Forum, and Coliseum), walked for miles and miles each day taking in the sites and sights, and enjoyed the Villa Borghese Gardens for some quiet time.

Thank you so much!

Even More Enjoyable For My Second Stay Feb 2010

Decided to fill you in on this year's experience while things are still fresh in my mind, plus it is snowing and sleeting this morning.
I finally met Rene and he has been very helpful.
There are a few improvements which have made the Via Veneto apartment even more enjoyable for my second stay:
1) WiFi;  although the hard wired DSL worked fine in the past, laptop use through apt a plus
2) Small things like adequate soap and toilet tissue prevent having to run out for supplies immeaidely upon arrival
3) I travel with a night light and adapter, but this year the apt has both
4) Window blind in kitchen gives comfort at night
5) A shower curtain replaced the shower stall door. Not hitting elbows this year
6) I needed a power converter since new laptop is US made. Didn't think of this. There is 200Watt converter here.
7) Leon Bar on the corner closed, moved across the street and downsized. Still find them rude. Bar Lotti a few doors down is still my choice and they are as friendly and welcoming as ever.

Here are a few suggestions for your Rome (and Italy) rentals with
1) Booking (in advance) a Ceserina dinner with an Italian family through www.homefood.it  I had a wonderful evening in a local couple's
home along with 4 others from Germany and Italy. Fantastic experience.
2) Piazza Sallustio is only a 10 minute walk from this apartment. There you can find loads of local flavor. A sparkling clean meat / deli market named DezAnglis, a cheese shop where they receive fresh Mozzarella twice daily. The name is Latticini. Additionally there are numerous trattoria, osteria and a fiaschetteria named Marini which is open lunch only. Very inexpensive, simple, authentic food. Small with marble top tables.
3) I found a 3rd generation (not unusal) trattoria on via Avignonesi, which is off of via della Quattro Fontane just around the corner from Piazza Barberini. Colline Emiliane. Food and family from Emilia Romagna. Again small place good food. Friendly service by a father and son
I enjoy the churches, museums and histoical sites, but I also seek to experience local life when travelling.

Thoroughly Enjoyed the Apartment Nov 2009

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. The idea of going "native" was very appealing to us.

Our major criticism was the shower. A simple shower head replacement should solve the problem. [done]

The location was very good with the exception that once you entered into the subway system on Via Veneto, it was a twenty minute walk to the actual subway trains. [Maybe 10 minutes; I've timed it.]

The elevator (lift) was typical of buildings of that age and to us, were not frightening. In fact, it was an adventure.

The restaurants around the apartment were extremely good. Giovanni's was the best.

An Excellent Accommodation Choice for family of 4 Sep 2009
We were very pleased with our decision to rent this apartment in Rome. We liked our location. It was in a nice neighborhood. It was quiet and private but easily accessible to the sites, restaurants, and transportation. The information sent by Italy Perfect prior to our visit was amazing, and so helpful. We had a contact to pre-arrange a car service from the airport, and a greeter to meet us upon our arrival and to orient us to the building and apartment. The apartment was comfortable for our needs and so much better than a hotel room. Great for the independent traveler with a map and a guide book. If you need room service, a concierge, & a front desk...forget it!! The apartment needs a new hair dryer!! Look for friendly waiter, Bonifacio, at sidewalk cafe just west of apartment. He knows everything there is to know about American Football, and "America's greatest athlete, Jack Nicklaus"!!!

Response - Nov 3, 2009Thanks so much Barb. So glad you enjoyed yourselves so much. We will definitely replace the hairdryer. - Pat

Via Veneto Sep 2009

Beautiful, clean and charming apartment. It had everything we needed, including numerous guide books of Rome, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, etc.. The washer and dryer were great. The A/C was helpful in the hot Roman summer nights. The location is a little out of the main tourist sites but fairly close to the Spanish Steps and very close to the Borghese gardens. Pat and the owner were very helpful when we needed to stay an extra night unexpectedly. [The location is right by the Via Veneto one of the important streets in the center of Rome and a just few minutes from the Spanish Steps, Piazza Barberini, Villa Borghese and many other main tourist sites. Other sites may be a bit farther, but most are within 15-20 minute walks something that can't be accomplished in most major cities in the world where things are much farther apart. Also this apartment is so close to the subway so some farther sights, that are far to walk to from any location within the city, are easily reached by subway. So, perhaps some of the sights were too far to walk for small children, but we must note that this apartment is right in the center of Rome and not removed as the guest's kind note might lead one to think. Would recommend highly Sep 2009

Via Veneto was just the right size for a family of four and a very reasonable alternative to pricey Rome hotels. It was immaculate and shielded from street noise. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well in a record August heat wave, but how to use the settings was confusing. I asked for instructions on all appliances, but the slide out panel on the controller was not shown to me. Make sure to inquire. We had to pay a small surcharge for the extra energy we used to cool the place during the heat wave; it was well worth it! The location was good; it's around the corner from the Via Veneto, a supermarket and 2 taxi stands. Wished the Metro was a bit closer, but in cooler weather, the walk to the Metro would have been fine. [The Metro station entrance is just across the Via Veneto, a 1 minute walk to the entrance and then 5 more minutes to get to the station itself; we think maybe these guests didn't find this entrance and walked all the way to the Piazza Barberini for the next closest Metro stop.]  For guests that stay more than 3 days (we stayed 8), providing an extra set of towels would have been nice. We used the washer a lot. Dryer was inefficient so we ended up using the drying rack, which was fine. The literature provided by Italy Perfect was thorough, accurate, and helpful. Would stay there again.

Via Veneto July 2009 Jul 2009

The accommodations were clean and the neighborhood quiet/peaceful. Our greeter Rene was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The location was not quite as "central" as we anticipated from reading other reviews. It was a significant uphill walk back to the apartment each night from the metro at the Spanish Steps...you may want to let other renters know that information. Overall, the service from Italy Perfect, Rene, and our driver (Stefano) was very good. Thank you.

[It is a seven minute walk up from the Spanish Steps metro station with escalators for most of the uphill part. Of course it can happen that one of the three escalators you take is broken, iincreasing the number of steps you have to climb, normally about 40. The location is indeed in central Rome; a half hour's walk places you at most of the top ten sights yet right next to the expansive Villa Borghese park, a real treat for most. Quite different from cities like London and Paris that are much more spread out. Italy Perfect]

Convenience to the city Jul 2009

Staying just off the Via Veneto provides access to almost every area of the city. While visiting, we walked to the Vatican, Campo de Fioni (my favoriate piazza!), Piazza Navona, Fountain de Trevi, Pantheon, and many other sites. The Coliseum is the only distant site. The apartment was a wonderful place to come back to in the afternoons, great place to start a run in the park, or along the river, and a great place to buy groceries and cook a sensible breakfast. Perfect for healthy tourists. Thanks for the hospitality!

Summer in Rome Jul 2009

We had a wonderful stay at the Via Veneto apartment in mid June 2009. The location was ideal for all the Rome attractions and the area itself allows for shopping on all ends.
We found the apartment very comfortable for the four of us, and the kitchen well stocked for a family dinner more than once.

The bedding was more than enough and the sitting area and internet connection were all that we needed. The building is very secure and we slept well the entire time. I would suggest this place to any family that knows that space is a luxury in any big city and the hotels usually don't provide much of that.
We had a very memorable and lasting trip that started in Rome and this place was all that we needed for our group.

Try all the pizzerias in the area. They are so good and so unique. Get some baked goods on the Via Veneto and walk off the calories. We did!

Working with Italy Perfect has been a delight. Jun 2009

The reservation process was easy to follow and the travel details were very helpful.  The apartment named Via Veneto on Via Sardegna overall was adequate.  The good points are location, access to groceries, restaurants, and the metro.  We also appreciated that it was a quiet neighborhood.  The layout which allowed privacy between the living room (which we also used as a bedroom) and the rest of the apartment worked very well for us.  The security of the apartment with the quadruple locks was a comfort especially when we noticed that anyone can enter the building with the automatic door closing system.  We especially liked the offerings and friendly service at Bar Leon--their cornettos are delicious.  Another wonderful family-run restaurant loaded with locals was Pomodoro--look for a big tomato on the sign at a side street off Sardegna.  For an excellent and expensive treat, eat outdoors at Harry's Bar on Via Veneto.

Highly Recommended Jun 2009
My wife and I (and two year old daughter) enjoyed our six-night stay at the Via Veneto apartment (technically the apartment is on Via Sardegna, adjacent to Via Veneto). By the time we left - having regularly walked the nearby Borghese gardens, taken the tram and metro, shopped for groceries, and cooked, washed, and ironed in the apartment - we felt like we belonged (we speak no Italian, but no matter). The building had character to spare: the giant arched door at the building entrance and the quaint elevator are gems. Our only gripe: a couple of persistent mosquitoes bothered us one night. (We solved the problem with a purchase of insect spray.) As for dining out, beware the soulless and grossly overpriced cafes that line Via Veneto. Instead, walk down Via Veneto to Piazza Barberini, around which there are several excellent restaurants favoured by locals. Historia Romano and Olimpia (on the evocatively named Via Boccaccio) come to mind. The invigorating twenty minute walk from the Piazza to the apartment will eliminate any guilt you might experience from indulging in a secondi and dolci at dinner. If you wish to dine without the walk, you could settle for one of the restaurants on or around Via Sardegna. The nearby family-run Café Lotti on Via Sardegna has excellent gelato and is also a good choice for a quick cappuccino and pastry. All in all, we recommend the apartment highly.

May 2009

We stayed at the Via Veneto apartment and it was awful. The windows all looked onto a lightwell that was enclosed on all sides so the apartment was airless and stuffy. Stagnant water was at the bottom of the lightwell which may have increased the mosquito problem as the airlessness did. My son got lots of bites and although we tried to kill them they just kept coming, we had to use lots of personal repellant. The building looked fine outside as did the main entrance but it was virtually deserted. The lift was tiny and cage like and opened really close to the apartments front door. Claustrophobic and a bit creepy: we would have liked to have just foregone the money paid and moved into a hotel but felt daunted looking for a hotel with an active toddler and lots of luggage.

We were very sorry to hear about Peggy's unhappy experience in this apartment so we have taken steps to ensure that future guests do not have the same experience. We added a fourth note in our descriptions that there is not an interesting view from the windows and also added a photo of the courtyard to the photo tour. This guest wrote "I did not realise you could see no green or sky from the windows." Well that isn't strictly true, you can see the container garden in the courtyard and you can see the sky, but now we hope the photo will help where the written descriptions did not.

Concerned about her assertion of airlessness and stuffiness we asked her if the windows opened and the fan and air conditioners worked and she replied: "Of course you know that the windows open and the airconditioner works." Those are the only remedies we have for airlessness.

At our request the building manager checked for standing water; he said that there had been a lot of rain during that time frame (3 storms in the previous week as well as fog), but there is no standing nor stagnant water. It is true that there are almost never screens in Italian buildings and mosquitoes do exist so we send all guests a document on renting in Italy that has five paragraphs explaining just that with advice on how to best deal with mosquitoes. In addition to using personal repellent, we tell guests they can use mosquito repellent devices which can be found in the apartment. The document we sent this guest explains the devices but even if she didn't read or remember it, she could have called the manager and he would have told her where to find the devices and how to use them. We urge all guests to telephone if they are having problems, if they don't call...

The elevator in this building is reliable and standard. It really isn't the cage like elevators that you do find some places. To help potential guests who are claustrophobic, we added a photo of the elevator and wrote a blog article about elevators in Italy in general. The proximity of the elevator to the front door of this and the other two apartments on the floor has never been mentioned as a problem.

We had a wonderful time visiting Rome. Apr 2009
The apartment Via Vento was very comfortable and classy. Loved having the washer and dryer, made for packing much lighter, beds very comfortable, couldn't ask for a better location. The only thing we can really say was a negative, the EARTH QUAKE that hit on April 6th at 3:30 am on our 2nd night there. It was a very scary experience to be awaken in the middle of the night from something as awful as that was. I also want to add, working with Pat from Italy Perfect was a joy and a pleasure. She set us up with more information then we could have ever expected, answered all questions plus passed on companies for car pick up at the airport, she made our experience one to come back for more. Our next time in Rome we would very much love to stay at the Via Vento Apartment. Thanks Pat for all your help, hope to be renting again very soon..

EXCELLENT STAY Apr 2009
We had enjoyed thoroughly staying a week at the Via Veneto apt. The location is in a nice area, 15 minutes to the city center & the walk back uphill was a nice exercise. The place is quiet enough considering most city apts can be noisy. The size & provisions in the apartment is excellent, but the door locks needs to be smoothen up. [The earthquake caused some doors to stick.pb] The tour books & Italy Perfect's guidance have been very handy. Pat/Lisa is always there to answer our queries. We won't hesitate to recommend this apartment.

The neighborhood couldn't possibly offer more choices Feb 2009
The Via Veneto apartment is very well laid out, plenty of closets, quiet and extremely efficient. Internet access was a big plus and allowed me to travel with my laptop and stay in touch with family and business associates as well as plan my activities in Italy. Having a washer and dryer allowed me to pack lighter. I've had washers in other foreign apartments, but never a dryer. The kitchen had all appliances necessary for an extended stay. Having an elevator stop at the door was convenient for luggage and groceries. The neighborhood couldn't possibly offer more choices. I found the Despar Supermarket, 2 blocks away on Via Toscana, to have everything I needed. The Peluso wine shop is even closer with a wide selection of wines at very reasonable prices. I lost count of the number of restaurants in the vicinity, but there are plenty. The family who operate Cafeteria / Pasticceria Lotti, a 1/2 block away on Via Sardegna, were terrific. Caffe Lotti quickly became my choice for morning cappuccino and a croissant. They bake their own pastries, which were hard to pass up, and in the evening Lotti will prepare hot take away meals to enjoy back at the apartment. Lucio and Lucca are the morning baristas and Lorenzo usually handles evenings. Cousins Regina (morning) and Paola (nights) are at the register and behind the pastry counter. Lotti also serves American breakfasts of eggs, bacon, toast etc. Caffe Lotti was definitely my choice over Leon Bar. The proximity of bus and Metro access was another plus as well as the opportunity to get away from the city and walk the peaceful grounds of Villa Borghese only minutes away. A representative of the owner was at the apartment to greet me upon arrival and explained everything. The owner offered another comfort level as he phoned a few times to be sure everything was in order and offered information and assistance. Italy Perfect / Excellent Europe supplied the most complete package of information I have ever received prior to departure. Your companies should be the model for foreign rentals agencies. All in all, my three weeks at the Via Veneto apartment in Rome were both Excellent and Perfect. Thank you.

via Veneto apartment Dec 2008
Accommodations overall were very nice. We enjoyed the location the most. It was located within walking distance of many places we wanted to go, including eating spots of all kinds. The problems or drawbacks were, for the most part, minor, except a gas shutdown by the city that shut off our hot water and heat. However, Italy Perfect's manager did all he could to reinstate heating by an alternate source, successfully, on the day after. So, Italy Perfect's service was, as usual, excellent. One tourist trap with poor service and mediocre food to avoid, is Ristorante Galeassi, which is recommended in some publications. They served us slowly and reluctantly, with some ridicule at our poor Italian language skills and gave us a dish we did not order instead of what we ordered. Because of our schedule, it was too late to send the dish back since it took so long to get served. So we left after paying the bill, with the intent to let others know of the problem.

The apartment was great for us, it had everything as advertised Dec 2008

The apartment was great for us, it had everything as advertised and what we needed, especially the washer and dryer, it allowed us to bring less which was a big plus. The location was good we walked all over or took the metro which was so cost effective and handy. Leons snack bar across the street was good for metro tickets and a cannoli too..also quite a few restaurants nearby our favorite ended up being La Bruschetta a few doors down our waiter, Bonifaccio, was fantastic and fresh food was the order of the day there, shopping a block away on the famous Via Veneto. The apartment was clean and well stocked ..We would certainly rent this apartment again..and a big thanks to Lisa for all the info she provided.

The apartment has an excellent location Nov 2008
The apartment has an excellent location - easy walking distance to 2 metro stops, Spanish Steps, via Veneto, Villa Borghese, and many other famous spots. Service was excellent and friendly - Rome passes available on arrival were a great help as well as other tourist information. Just a couple of points, the apartment has no view at all - all windows look into an interior light-well. The bathroom is very small particularly the shower (a large person would not fit into it).

Pat & Dieter S, Australia

The apartments were great as were their hosts Jun 2008

We just want to thank you for facilitating our accomodation rentals in Rome [Veneto] and Florence [Strozzi].  Thank you also for the reccomendation for Venice.  The apartments were great as were their hosts. We found that the best way to see Rome, Florence and Venice; like many others before us, is to simply get lost walking (but carry a good map, just in case).  We figured if you just walk in the general direction of where you want to go, you'll eventually end up at your destination.  Plus, you find so many interesting things along the way!

Helen Leung, San Francisco

Great location May 2008

Accommodations were very nice but smaller than we expected.  The photo of the living room on the web makes the apartment look larger than it is when the sofa is opened into beds. The bedding was very comfortable. The power shut off several times when I was drying clothes.  Fortunately, our greeter mentioned this when we checked in, so I knew what to do.  The rollaway bed in the living room was really hard. Great location – close to good food, shopping, sites, and metro. The little deli/tabacco shop (Leon's?) across the street has delicious panini, especially the fresh mozzarella and tomato.  La Bruschetta down the street has excellent service, pizza, and value.  Very friendly. Don't go to Harry's Bar unless you are prepared to spend a lot of money for a minimal amount of food.  Very expensive.  Skip the tomb of Augustus. You did a great job especially the details sent before the trip.  The kids' book is memorable.

Everything was Great, loved the location very easy to get to the subway from our place. Very safe feeling. Really liked Leons cafe across the street super friendly and helpful. The Kitchen was great and the supermarket was close and convenient. shopping on Via Veneto was awsome very nice places to eat close by. Veneto's apartment was very well appointed. Mar 2008

Italy was perfect! Both apartments were lovely [Florence Medici & Rome Veneto]. Each one very different but each had its own charm. Veneto's apartment was very well appointed. Had my hair cut by a salon on the first floor, should anyone else need a new "do". They were great and did a wonderful job. The apartment was very well situated and we walked everywhere! Many great places to eat close by, a supermarket just around the corner and the buses were 2 blocks away. We have already started to think about our next trip back.

The Veneto apartment is in a wonderful area for walking Nov 2007

It was wonderful to experience two Italy Perfect apartments in different areas during our two week trip to Rome in October. The Veneto apartment is in a wonderful area for walking (without crowds of people) and being near the Borghese Gardens was a definite plus. There are several very good restaurants and a grocery store near the apartment and a wonderful wine store a half block away! The Veneto apt. was a comfortable place to return to at the end of a day of walking. The bed was comfortable, there was lots of closet space and we were able to sleep with the windows wide open in silence. Rene (the greeter) was extremely helpful and it was nice to know he was available should we need him. Most important though is the help and detailed information given by Lisa at Italy Perfect. We would highly recommend dealing with Italy Perfect!! Mille Grazie!

We loved the Veneto neighborhood. Jul 2007

The apartments were wonderful [Rome Veneto & Florence Strozzi]. We loved the Veneto neighborhood. Lotti at the Lotti cafe became very near to us. Both apartments were very clean and spacious enough for the four of us. I would recommend your agency to anyone seeking apartments in Italy. We will miss many of the wonderful people we met, including Miki. She was a doll. Thank you for such wonderful service.

The apartment is wonderful. Jul 2007

Your restaurant list is fabulous, we were delighted with them all and ate only off that list. Your driver is a great find. The apartment is wonderful. It is very well located, easy to get to. It was hot and we ran the air conditioning in both rooms all night every night and ended up owing only E3.5; we would have paid ten times that much for the comfort. At an ATM machine near the Pantheon our card data was stolen and our account shut down. Citibank, thankfully, was very helpful, but tell your guests to be careful.

The Rome apartment was very nice as advertised May 2007

Well, we are back from a wonderful trip. The Rome apartment was very nice as advertised, and we had a chance to meet and chat with the manager. Interesting and pleasant man. We did spend over half and hour cooling our heels in front of the place with our suitcases because the driver didn't speak English well enough to make the call for us to be greeted, even though I made three attempts to convey that information. Rome is marvelous, as you know. The weather was fine, and the only glitch was that I got a bad blister from too much walking which slowed me down some. We definitely want to go back. Greece was also terrific. All in all, a great vacation.

Richard S, California

Accommodation exactly as described Apr 2007

Accommodation exactly as described with helpful greeting etc. We really enjoyed the sandwiches/panini with things you would never eat in a sandwich at home and that could be bought any way and eaten on the run. In my view Italy survives as a nation due only to the the people who were without exception helpful and friendly living the the chaos that is the country. The location is good. Not long to the city, and next to a nice park, with cafes around - it was good. There is a coffee shop, ~30m to the left when you come out of the building. They were more than helpful - and the coffee was excellent. Do not rely on the tourist bus tours. Especially the Archaeological tour. The timetable is advisory at best, and they do not always stop. The standard busses and metro service were more reliable! Actually, you have been very good - but a situation map showing the actual building location in the street would have been useful on the first day.

It was so nice to enjoy Rome while living like a local. Feb 2007

It was so nice to enjoy Rome while living like a local. The location of this apartment was wonderful - close enough to everything we needed, yet secluded enough to be quiet when we simply wanted to relax. Three of us spent two weeks here, and it was wonderful to be able to sleep late (no housekeeping to wake us) and cook and eat at home when the mood struck us.

Thank you Lisa, it was absolutely wonderful, and my mum was really happy.

The owner of the apartment was absolutely fantastic Jul 2006

The owner of the apartment was absolutely fantastic, so helpful and kind it was a pleasure doing business with him. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment to anyone nor use it again ourselves should the need arise.

Many thanks also for your thorough follow through of the booking, very reassuring to arrive somewhere and it all be as planned – no nasty surprises!!

Accommodations: Fabulous, well set out apartment. ... it was wonderful to come ‘home' after a long day of sightseeing and have room to move.

Problems: Only that it can be hard to be super quiet for the neighbours when traveling with children especially when one local resident takes her Great Dane dog in the lift after exercising him (rather smelly!) [Actually, it is a Neapolitan Mastiff, a descendant of the ancient Romans' dogs of war, a big dog! Pat the History Geek]

Location: Lovely, nice to be that little bit removed from the tourist area. Not so sure that the Borghese Gardens lived up to expectations but it may have been the lack of signage more than the place.

Recommendations: Supermarket within walking distance (it's on the pedestrian subway to Spanish Steps) Don't go in the middle of summer!! (much too hot) however if you must the apartment has a fantastic air conditioner. Make sure you buy tickets online to avoid the queues.

Michelle W

So much better than a hotel, Jul 2006

Overall the experience was better than we expected. May 2006

The apartments in Rome and Florence were absolutely perfect [Veneto & Porcellana apartments]. The location in Rome could not have been better and  Florence was great as well. Overall the experience was better than we expected. We certainly will use apartments in the future not only in Italy but France and England as well. Thanks again for all of your help and please feel free to use us as a reference for any prospective clients.

Started to feel like home after a few days Oct 2005

The Veneto apartment was even better then we expected. Very comfortable and it started to feel like home after a few days in Rome. We enjoyed long strolls along the Via Veneto and walks in the Borghese Gardens. The metro pedestrian tunnel is so convenient as a shortcut for walking to the Spanish Steps plus the grocery store there was really convenient. We appreciated how nicely furnished the apartment was - comfy sofa, great kitchen and a good mattress on the king bed. We'll be back!

It was very well-supplied and attractive. Sep 2005
