"Very comfortable apartment in a ritzy part of Rome" |
| Rome's Finest Neighborhood |
A large and comfortable apartment on fashionable Via Sistina by the Spanish Steps in Rome.
Via Sistina is a prized location in the finest neighborhood in Rome. The street rises from the obelisk at the top of the Spanish Steps where you will also find the Hassler Hotel. The Hassler has been known as the best hotel in Rome for more than 60 years. On the same street are the Intercontinental and Hotel Sistina; also fine hotels so this is the level of quality in this prestigious neighborhood.
In additional to fine lodging, Via Sistina is famous for fashionable shops. There is traffic daytimes but that drops in the evening when the shops close.
You can spend a small fortune to stay in one of the pricey 5-star hotels along Via Sistina that neighbor the Sistina apartment or you can enjoy a clean, comfortable apartment with a living room, two roomy bedrooms and full kitchen for a fraction of the price.
The Sistina apartment is on the first floor European designation, second North American. While there is no elevator, it is a manageable 41 steps from the building entrance.
A spacious entry has plenty of room for coats and packages. A drop-leaf antique table against one wall and a handsome antique armoire for storage on the other wall. There are polished terrazzo floors throughout, cool in the summer and so easy to maintain. The living room is to the right, the twin bedroom is straight ahead and the master bedroom is next to the twin bedroom.
The living room is in the center of the apartment, with the kitchen off it to one side and the large dressing room to the other side. Tasteful, modern artwork and a few 1960's modern pieces throughout the apartment give it a contemporary look with pleasantly contrasting touches of fine antiques. It's classic Roman, with a bit of retro chic, clean, comfortable and homey and in one of the best locations in town. The living room has a sofa, a dining table, flat-screen TV.
Off the living room is a dressing room that adjoins the master bedroom. The bedrooms have large, street facing windows so they get plenty of light. Exterior shutters can be closed for late-sleepers. The twin bedroom has beds that can be prepared together or separately. There is a set of double doors between the master bedroom and the second bedroom.
You'll enjoy sumptuous linens on the beds. There are reading lights on either side of the beds. The bedrooms have air conditioning. Here too are touches of authentic 60's modern retro chic, such as the chairs and the artwork. Hip but in a restrained, authentic way.
The pleasant, light kitchen is narrow but well equipped and fully furnished.
The bathroom is off the entry foyer. It has a bathtub with a shower sprayer attachment hooked to the wall, a sink, toilet and bidet.

A large and comfortable apartment on fashionable Via Sistina by the Spanish Steps in Rome.
| I would recommend this apartment to others. | Nov 2011 |
We rented the Sistina apartment for 5 nights in Rome. We were a party of 4 women traveling to Rome for the first time. Sistina was centrally located and within walking distance to almost any neighborhood we wanted to see. We opted to take the train to the Vatican as it was going to be the longest walk of our 5 day stay and we had an early tour to meet, otherwise we would have walked there too!!! The apartment was close to a grocery store, next door to a pizzeria and across the street from a wonderful restaurant. The Spanish Steps were just a quick walk up the hill. I would recommend this apartment to others. The bedrooms are nice and large. The central dressing area was very convenient for all our luggage and had plenty of closet space to accommodate 4 women's clothing. The greeter, Marcela, met us at the apartment to give us the keys and brief us on the apartment. She was informative and so helpful. The driver suggested to us by Italy Perfect picked us up at the airport upon our arrival and was timely and informative as he drove us to the apartment. We always felt safe in the apartment and walking home during the later hours in the evening was never a problem. We loved Italy Perfect so much, that we hope to rent an apartment from them in Florence on our next trip to Italy. |

| The location was fantastic...I loved this classic Italian flat | Nov 2011 |
My husband and I stayed here in October and absolutely loved it. The location was not only fantastic, but I'm a hard-to-please architect and I loved this classic Italian flat with beautifully decorated spacious interiors, comfy beds with gorgeous linens, air conditioning, and new quiet windows. (The host was also gracious. She left charming written recommendations for walking tours and local restaurants, and even helped us find a doctor when my husband had a cough) We hope to return soon with our two college age sons. |

| Immaculately clean and provided everything we needed to relax in after a day of sightseeing | Oct 2011 |
My teenaged daughter, two friends and I stayed at the Sistina apartment in October, 2011. It was immaculately clean and provided everything we needed to relax in after a day of sightseeing. The greeter was gracious and explained everything about the apartment, also answering questions about restaurants to dine at, nearest supermarket and more. Easy to use the free WiFi internet. Most of all, the location was incredible! We stepped outside each morning, looked right and there was the top of the Spanish steps! We walked everywhere, enjoyed good meals, especially the Tavola Calda restaurant inside the Porta Pinciana of the Borghese Gardens. Found a delicious delicatessen where we bought fresh homemade pasta and cold meats, salads nearby. Daughter and friends loved the shopping all around us. They’ll loved strolling to the Spanish Steps in the evening, playing cards and meeting other young people.

| A Great Place to Stay | Oct 2011 |
I wanted a place that was centrally located to most of the "biggies" in Rome, as I was traveling with my adult grandson and his girlfriend, who had never been to Italy before. I have been to Rome several times, and had in mind what I thought were the most important things to see, therefore, my need for a central location. Sistina was indeed that! The apartment is just a quick couple blocks to the Barberini Metro station, which we used frequently, yet the location was in a little neighborhood, where locals would have coffee, do some shopping. The apartment itself was more than comfortable. We did have to walk up 42 steps to the apartment, but that was not a problem, only when bringing up luggage and taking it down again, but since we were traveling light, that did not present too much of a problem. When I rent an apartment, I always check first for cleanliness (after all, I am a nurse!) This apartment, was spotless. Every surface, every item in the apartment was thoroughly clean. I was impressed with this. The apartment also had a fully equipped kitchen, which, I am sorry to say, I did not get to cook in, but I did check everything out to make certain that everything in the way of cooking equipment was there, as well as serving dishes, dishes and silverware. All was sufficient, without making the kitchen cluttered. Next visit, I WILL cook in that apartment. It was also complete with a dishwasher and a clothes washer. That was very helpful for us. The bedrooms were large, roomy, plenty of storage space, and now, with the new soundproof windows, there was absolutely no street noise at night. Wonderful!! The area is not far from the Spanish Steps, and close to 2 Metro stations. We walked almost everywhere withing a 2 mile radius, using the Metro to go to outlying areas, such as the Vatican, and out to other neighborhoods and to the train station. We walked to Ancient Rome, to the Coliseum, Vittorio Emmanuel monument, where one can go to the roof and see Rome from the sky!! I would highly recommend not only this apartment, but Italy Perfect. Lisa was so helpful, and always answered my email queries immediately. I appreciated this, as it made my job as "tour guide" so much easier. And my grandson and his girlfriend had the opportunity to see Rome in 5 days. They loved it, and we all felt comfortable in our home away from home. |

| So well furnished, cleanest ever, and lived up to my expectation | Sep 2011 |
We loved the apartment. I have never rented an apartment before that was so well furnished, cleanest ever, and lived up to my expectation. Now, with the new windows, noise from the street is down to nothing! I have rented apartments in many European cities, and this one was the nicest. |

| Via Sistina apartment | Jun 2011 |
The apartment was a little tight for five people. More comfortable chairs in the living room would be helpful. Overall, it was fine for our purposes and we enjoyed our stay. The biggest drawback to the accommodations was the noise level at night coming through the bedroom windows - it was very difficult to sleep. We loved the surrounding area and walkability to all the sites. Had a fantastic dinner in the rooftop restaurant around the corner - "Rossini". I would recommend Italy Perfect to friends, unless they were on a tight budget. |

| Comfortable | Jun 2011 |
We stayed there for 5 days in May, location is great and very close Spanish Steps and to pubic transportation. Apartment is pleasant & comfortable. However it is noisy at night. My husband and daughter did not mind it, but I am a light sleeper, so had hard time sleeping. We did not really cook any meals in the apartment, but missed having a microwave to warm up things. |

| Perfect! | May 2011 |
the Sistina apartment was a very comfortable apartment in a ritzy part of Rome. We visited two restauarants down the street which were great! Close to the Spanish steps as well. The only complaints we had were the noise on the street during the night, and the lack of dark shades in the bedroom because the street lights come on and you feel as though you are trying to sleep during the day! Italy Perfect was great and we enjoyed our stay! Thank you for your nice feedback, we're pleased you found the apartment comfortable, enjoyed the very upscale location and great restaurants down the block. We're sorry you didn't realize that the bedroom windows have external wooden shutters that can be closed to block out the light from the street lamps. We have asked the greeter to point out this feature to future guests. Regards, Lisa at Italy Perfect |
