Convenient to Piazza del Popolo, minutes from the Spanish Steps, you will find every amenity in this spacious apartment. Modern conveniences include air conditioning, Satellite TV, wireless internet access, stereo and microwave.

This large apartment features the combination of comfort and location. All your needs have been considered in the amenities offered.

Location

The location is in central Rome, two minutes from Piazza del Popolo, one block from the Tiber River, four minutes from the Borghese gardens. Nearby Piazzale Flaminio is a transportation hub with Metro station, busses and the Hop-and-Stop double decker sightseeing bus. If you wish to stroll, you will be in Piazza del Popolo in minutes, ten minutes puts you in Piazza di Spagna, where you will find the Spanish Steps and the designer shopping mecca of Rome. The Pantheon is about a fifteen minute walk and Piazza Navona about five minutes further. Villa Borghese is very close, great for exercise, strolling and play. Rent a pedal car or bike.

Exterior

The building is handsome with a spacious lobby. There are three steps in the lobby and one 20 cm high step inside the apartment to access the master bedroom, so this isn't perfect for a wheelchair traveler, but if navigating those steps is not a problem, then there are no additional barriers to access or moving about the apartment.

For larger families or groups who need additional sleeping accommodations there is also the small Paolina apartment just two blocks away.

Interior

As for comfort and convenience, the living/dining room offers two sofas and an easy chair. One sofa converts a queen sized bed. The entertainment center has satellite TV so you can pick up English language news stations, an iPod dock and a CD player. A variety of books and guides are here for your use.

A narrow terrace wraps around the living and dining rooms, so two sets of French doors admit plenty of light. Trellises with vines and pots of plants welcome you to enjoy your rooftop location. On the hottest days you can close up and turn on the air conditioning, but on many temperate days, even warm ones, you can open up and let the breezes blow through.

The dining table seats six and is a handsome antique, as is the desk nearby.

The eat-in kitchen has a large refrigerator with a freezer compartment, gas four-burner stove top and oven, microwave, Italian and drip coffee makers, and a dishwasher. The kitchen table seats two.

The master bedroom is adequately sized with a queen sized bed and two built-in closets. It has its own balcony and neighborhood view. The ensuite bathroom has shower within tub as well as sink, toilet and bidet.

The second bathroom has shower, sink and toilet.

Buildings in Italy, by law, turn on the heat only after the first of November and turn it off at the end of March and it takes a special official declaration to override the law. This apartment has, however, two backup systems for heat that can increase your comfort and also allow you to be warm in the case of a cold snap, even when the building heat is not on. One is a special zone for the bathrooms which heats them up independently for a warm morning shower. And, separately, the air conditioners are heat pumps that can be invoked to quickly warm up a room. Utility usage, up to an average of 15kwh/day, is included in your rent. Excessive use of the heat pump option could put you above that, although it might be worth it!

The smaller bedroom features two twin beds, a night stand and an armoire.

A locked room, accessed from the terrace, has a washer and dryer as well as a hotel-style safe.

Flaminio Fantastic May 2012

Family of 4 stayed in Flaminio for ~3 weeks in spring 2012. Apartment is terrific in every way. Location is great as there is peace & quiet but easy access to Metro, taxi, bus, major sites. There are quality grocers nearby...and wine.

The interior is spacious for relaxing, games, computer use, sleeping, showering...seemingly minor things (water pressure, clothes washing, kitchen space, etc) all better than most anywhere else. (And these are the things that make a stay go smoothly!) The doorman (Lucky) is professional; safety is of no concern as the neighborhood and building are high end.

Great for any family, couples, girls away, elderly, you-name-it.

Rome '12 Mar 2012

We enjoyed our trip very much. Working with Pat was very easy. She went above and beyond to assist us ahead of our trip for a number of items that we needed.

The apartment location was fairly good. Walking distance from Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. My family walks a lot so we found the location very conventient.

The apartment was exactly what we expected. What you see is what you get... The outside "patio" area was very nice. In particular, if the weather is nice. The kitchen was a little on the smaller size (when compared to other apartments we have rented in Europe), but it was ok for basic cooking.

Rene, who assists with the apartment in Rome was very helpful. He was always available when needed.

In summary, we had a wonderful trip.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and decorated so nicely Jan 2012

Just wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed the Flaminio apt! It was perfect for 2 couples and the apt was clean, comfortable and decorated so nicely. We will definitely recommend this apt to friends. The doorman was so kind. Thanks so much for your help with securing the flat. It was perfect!

Clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortably furnished Dec 2011

My mother and I had a lovely stay at the Flaminio penthouse apartment in October 2011 and, as always with Italy Perfect rentals, the apartment was first class. Clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortably furnished and well equipped (fully stocked kitchen, iron and ironing board, etc) and in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and located very close to Piazza Del Popolo. We loved having the wrap around outside terrace….a perfect place to have a glass of wine in the evening or coffee in the morning. The master bathroom is unusually spectacular with a large, luxurious bath tub…perfect to soak in after a long day walking about. The apartment has wonderful windows and French doors, very light filled and airy and very private. We felt instantly at home. The greeting staff was fantastic and I’d highly recommend using Stefano for any chauffeuring needs you may have to and from airports or to Civitavecchia if you’re off on a cruise like we were. He is very reliable, punctual and fairly priced. I’ve stayed in a number of Italy Perfect rentals in Rome and Florence and know that Lisa and Pat personally review all their rentals and have unusually strong standards for any property they represent. I’m sure any Italy Perfect rental you choose will provide you with a high level of charm, cleanliness, convenience & comfort along with the piece of mind that you are working with successful professionals who have a passion for what they do and strive to provide you with a unique “home away from home” in Italy.

Flaminio apartment Nov 2011

A beautiful, first-class apartment. Well maintained, no corners cut. We have rented flats in Europe for many years, and this ranks near the top. Rene , the greeter, was very accommodating. Great location---fairly quiet street, but just 3 blocks from Piazza Popolo. Tip : cross the river, head toward Piazza Mazzini---try the restaurant Ulisse on Via G. Ferrrari.(in the Prati). A real locals place, very busy, few tourists, good food, warm service.

Italy Perfect did a top notch job in helping us before our trip. Many thanks to them for their work.

A lovely apartment. Oct 2011
We stayed in the apartment in October 2011 and found it very comfortable, with everything we needed. The terraces were a huge bonus that made the large apartment feel even more spacious, and the terrace view of St. Peter's dome at night is something we will always remember.

Communicating with Pat Byrne at Italy Perfect was very easy. She responded to my email questions quickly and readily shared information about the area and apartment. She was also helpful in recommending Stefano, who provided airport transportation.

Our greeter, Mr. Batard, met us at the apartment and helped us feel instantly at home. He also went out of his way to help us get a personal item back that we left behind.

We would definitely stay in this apartment again.

Wonderful Apartment! Oct 2011

This apartment is wonderful for an extended stay in Rome. We rented it for two weeks in September 2011 and it was exactly what we thought it would be: spacious, in a lovely neighborhood between the Tiber River and the Borghese Villa and close to a metro stop, buses, a tram stop, restaurants, grocery stores, a small open market, and great window shopping along Via del Corso. We read that every person who lives in Rome dreams of living in a penthouse apartment in a good neighborhood and we found that place in the Flaminio Apartment. Returning to the apartment for lunch most days and each evening was the reward for having survived an outing filled with wonderful sites and art but also full of the crowds, noises, smells, and heat of Rome in late summer. The owner was delightful and wanted to make sure that everything in the apartment was working as it should. The furniture was comfortable with some lovely antique pieces and a huge bookcase full of guidebooks and maps. The master bathroom was big and beautiful! We also enjoyed interacting with the doorman and his family. We already have recommended the apartment to friends who are thinking about a Roman holiday.

The Flamino apartment in Rome was wonderful; it fit our needs perfectly. Oct 2011

We were 2 couples and there was enough separation, yet enough common space, to accommodate all our needs. It's location afforded us easy access to all the major sites, and also gave us a quiet place to come home to at the end of the day. The apartment was well equipped and quite comfortable.

Our host, Rene, was more than helpful and a true delight. We wouldn't hesitate to rent the Flaminio again.

Great week despite the 99F heat! Sep 2011

The apartment and terrace are beautiful. The air conditioning kept us from going crazy in the 99F heat every day -- we used it during our Riposo on the hottest days, and every night, and ended up owing ~ 6 Euro for additional electricity at the end of the week. The washer works well, and the high-speed spin makes it easy to air dry clothes quickly on the provided rack on the terrace (although a dryer is available, we never used it --who needs it with 99F heat to dry your clothes!)

The location is excellent if you like to walk a city to get to know it. -- a few food stores are within a block for essentials, but it is a very quiet, residential part of town, perfect for coming back to after a busy day. Its just a few blocks from Piazza del Popolo and a very active lively restaurant area with many restaurants, and it is easy to get to other parts of town for dinner if you are so inclined.

Rome is an easy walking city (just like Boston!), and our family of 4 (two kids ages 11 and 13) never once needed to take a cab. The Vatican is two metro stops or a ~25 minute walk away. The Borghese Park and the fabulous museum with Bernini sculptures is close by, as are the Spanish Steps. Other things of interest are all within an easy 30-40 minute walk or a short bus ride if you prefer.

The apartment has all the necessities. The kitchen is well equipped for simple dinners, with good knives, plenty of cutlery and glasses, and the largest collection of wine glasses I have ever seen in a travel rental! The fridge and freezer are fairly large by European standards -- plenty big enough for breakfast and snack foods and beverages, with a lot of room to spare. We could have used more ice cube trays, but then, we were dealing with a very hot week. Normally that wouldn't have been an issue. The beds were hard but comfortable. The master bathroom shower has two shower wands. The one that would normally be used as the shower has very poor water pressure, but the one that is attached to the tub spigot is quite a bit stronger.

Due to the heat, we tested out a large number of gelato shops, and highly recommend Fior di Luna in Trastevere, and in particular, their chocolate with Rum flavor. Once we discovered it, we returned 2 additional times during the week -- despite the 3K distance from the apartment, we found excuses to head back there, then walked off our treats on the trek home :)

Pat at Italy Perfect was extremely helpful in setting us up with this apartment and with other arrangements for our time in Italy. In the future, I plan to send all my friends interested in a trip to Italy to her!

A great apartment for a great visit to Rome Jul 2011

We are a family of 4 with two teenage boys who stayed in the Flaminio apartment for a week. This was our first visit to Rome and we are so glad we stayed in the Flaminio apartment. We credit Italy Perfect for such a success. Without the extensive photos and write ups on all their properties we could have ended up in far different circumstances.

The apartment was comfortable and appeared just as shown in the website photos. It was nice to have the space to spread out in and it seemed like a home away from home for all of us. The greeter, Rene, was helpful and conscientious. He gave us a complete introduction to the accomodation and offered us his assistance should we ever need anything. There was also a basket of food in the kitchen which was a welcome arrival snack.

The Flaminio apartment is in a quiet neighborhood (which we enjoyed), but just a brief walk--a couple of minutes at a teen's pace--to the Piazza del Popollo where we used the metro to travel to the Colloseo and the Vatican. The 3 streets which converge at the Piazza are great for strolling down to find restaurants, shopping, gelatto, and sights, like the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, etc. Plan on doing a good deal of walking during your stay in Rome. There are buses and cabs, but you see so much more by foot.

The location of the Flaminio apartment is convenient for finding food too. There is even a Burger King just outside the metro stop. But the Italian restaurants, pizza places, and cafe are tops! Plan accordingly for food on Sundays though, when the small neighborhood groceries are not open. The neighborhood market was the best place, cost-wise, to buy food to prepare in the apartment. We especially liked the produce we found there. I believe it would be helpful to provide a street address for the small grocery store and the neighborhood market. We found the grocery right away, but it took us a few days before we located the market.

Since we were visiting Rome during a summer month, I will comment about cooling costs. We used the room air conditioners to stay comfortable. When we were at the apartment for mid-day breaks and overnight we ran them in the rooms we occupied. When we could we opened the doors to the balcony, but toward the end of our week in Rome the only part of the day that was cool was in the early morning. We didn't quite know what to expect upon check-out and were pleasantly surprised to find that we only had to leave 4 Euros to cover the extra energy used.

We have already recommended Italy Perfect to many friends and would certainly recommend the Flaminio apartment to anyone going to Rome.

Wonderful apartment in Rome! Jul 2011

My husband, two children (11 and 8) and I stayed in the Flaminio apartment in June 2011. It was the perfect family accommodation we could find anywhere. The apartment was spacious and clean. Amenities were plentiful - with washer AND dryer which is rare. The location is ideal, just behind Piazza del Popolo, but without the noise one might expect. The metro station is within a very short walk from the apartment, making it easy to get everywhere in Rome. The owner is extremely kind. Our son left his beloved Rome sweatshirt behind and it was sent to us within a week. We also appreciated all the help we got from Pat at Italy Perfect. Not only was the booking process very simple, she provided us with all the information and tips we needed to plan our visit to Rome, including a wonderful booklet she sent to the kids! We highly recommend Italy Perfect and the Flamino apartment.

Perfect Spot for our stay in Rome Jul 2011

It's hard to choose a spot without visiting it first but when we arrived, I saw at once the Flaminio apartment was a perfect spot for our stay in Rome. Location was easy walk to many places on our must-see short list and great restaurants and shops just outside. Also the bus at the corner goes everywhere in Rome. This was my 2nd visit to Rome so I'm still learning about the city and sights. After speaking with Pat at Italy-Perfect about what we like to do on vacation, her recommendations were amazing and we had a terrific stay. The apartment is nicely arranged for both privacy and casual relaxing before and after our days of sightseeing. Shower worked great. Kitchen well equipped. Bedrooms quiet. Yes we would stay here again and recommend it.

Roma Jun 2011

The apartment was more than we expected - plenty of room in both bedrooms and the bathrooms were recently updated. The terrace was very enjoyable and the living room was great after a day of touring. Easy walk to the Piazza Del Popolo and then to the Spanish Steps. We enjoyed a restaurant called Edys between the Piazza Del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. Subway close by. Rene was very helpful. Grocery store and farmers market very close for daily marketing.

Would definately recommend Italy Perfect to a friend.

Wonderful week in Rome May 2011

My family of four adults booked the Flaminio apartment for a week's stay before we departed for a cruise out of Civitavecchia. We found the apartment to be very comfortable, and enjoyed having an outdoor terrace. While we had plans to use the kitchen to make a few of our own meals, we were too tired in the evenings to cook, but felt it was stocked with sufficient plates and utensils.

I had looked at many, many different websites and contacted a number of apartment owners during my months long search. While this apartment was not the most affordable of those I found online, the location was best for "living like the Romans do" for a week, a bit removed from the tourist hubs. The location is within a neighborhood with offices and apartments, but near enough the sites for daily excursions. We had short taxi rides daily to all of the sites. It's a 10 minute walk to Pizza del Popolo which was a central location to find most transportation sources. The nearest taxi stand and bus 17 pick up near the twin churches at Popolo. The metro is also nearby, which we only used once.

We arrived on a Sunday, when most markets are closed. However, we found a few restaurants open near the entrance to Piazza del Popolo, where we were able to sit outside and have a surprisingly good meal. (I can't remember the name, but it was two doors down from the Burger King, next to the Farmacia). Although the nearby delicatessen's choices were a bit disappointing for breakfast the next morning (only breakfast rolls and coffee), We walked to the local market and found everything we needed.

In fact we headed here most mornings for fresh bread and cheese, which became our morning ritual. They also have yogurt, milk and juices. We frequented the nearby produce stand a few times as well.

The temperatures were mild when we arrived, but as the week progressed, the temperature climbed. We managed to lower the screens on the windows to keep the apartment cool enough during the day, so as not to turn on the AC, but it was nice to know we had it, if needed. The luxury of a washer and dryer (and an elevator) were big factor in choosing this apartment. Plan accordingly, since the washer takes over 2 and half hours to wash a load.

The driver (Stefano) that Italy Perfect recommended was always on time, and also shuttled us back and forth to the port for our cruise. His spacious van had plenty of room for our luggage. Renee met us upon our arrival and walked us through the apartment amenities; he was in touch with us when needed and helped coordinate our departure. I particularly enjoyed having wi-fi to stay connected while on vacation.

The four of us were very comfortable in the apartment and would recommend it to those of you planning a trip to Rome.

Flaminio Apartment Apr 2011

My husband, myself and my two teenage daughters spent five nights in March vacationing in Rome. Through the web site VRBO and the recommendations of a friend we stayed in the Flaminio apartment. The apt was in a quiet residential neighborhood near the metro. The apt was airy and bright and with all the amenities you needed. Unfortunately the neighborhood supermarket had closed which made food shopping more difficult.  [Unfortunately the greeter failed to tell them about another grocery store a block away and they missed the information we provided about the several grocery stores about a 5 minute walk away. Pat] Although the apt was lovely I felt it was not in a central location. We used the metro as well as cabs and walked but there were very few restaurants nearby. [There are 30 or 40 restaurants within a 15 minute walk. It is true if you want to eat in the surrounding 4 blocks, there are few choices; it is a quiet residential neighborhood that offers a better value. Pat] On the weekend the local eateries closed which made it difficult if you wanted to order from a local place and eat home. Would recommend for families who plan to cook dinner at home and stay in most evenings or who have younger children and/or a car. [You cannot park in the neighborhood nor drive a private car into the center of Rome. If you are not able to walk 10-15 minutes then there is the subway, busses and taxis. Pat] I would definitely recommend Italy perfect- we were provided with helpful tips, driver info, etc and would definitely use again for future trips to Italy.

The location was great for us. Walking distance to many sites and easy Taxi ride. The apartment has a great balcony and the layout was fine for four people. The owner was very friendly and responsive. Even though we were close to the action, the apartment was quiet and the security was fine. Grocery shopping and convenience items were just a block away.  We would definitely recommend this apartment to a family with children. It maybe a little tight for four adults.

Discovering Rome Mar 2011

First, the location is fabulous. Just minutes outside the northern gate of Piazza di Popolo. Although at first it might seem like a dreary area, it is a lively district during the week, teeming with office workers, yet quiet in the evenings and on the weekend. Short walk...and poof! You're in the heart of Rome...having an expensive, but delightful, cup of coffee on the terrace at Cafe Canova; think of it as a price of a ticket for superb people watching: coiffed women, sleek, black clad priests, power brokers and even a Michael Jackson look-alike!

The apartment was clean, bright and had all the comforts of home. The main bedroom had a wonderful bed and good reading lights...something usually missing from most rentals. Although I didn't sleep in the second bedroom, my friends, average American adult women, found it rather close and the beds a bit small. Both said their husbands could not have slept comfortably or at all.

The kitchen was fun to cook in and we made quite a few meals using ingredients from the Flaminio market; be aware it's only open until 12:30pm. There's a butcher, fish, produce, laundry, bread, etc. Quite handy and everyone was nice and helpful. Even supplying a recipe for puntarelle!

We were lucky having a beautiful, sunny month in February, so we breakfasted on the terrace almost daily and moved about in the sun. On one rainy day, we stayed inside and there was room for all to enjoy our different pursuits.

Only one thing needs work: the shower head in the master bath needs decalcification or replacement.[ done]

There are plenty of restaurants and shops in Flaminio...nose around, look in and try some of them. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect...the apartment and location was true to the description on the web site.

Great location, lovely apartment. Mar 2011

The apartment was just as billed, the perfect size for us and in a great location. Rene, our greeter, was very professional and helpful. The assistance finding a driver from the airport was also really helpful. Being able to handle booking it on the phone with some one in the us (Pat from ItalyPerfect.com) without all the stress of an international call made it all the better, plus your packet of information helped us plan. We wandered the streets for our week there, soaking in the warm weather, fabulous food and engaging history. Our kids (ages 10 and 13) had a blast and really learned from the various tours we booked. It was educational, great exercise (all that walking!) and lots of fun. I really can not imagine a better family vacation and this apartment made it all possible. We also loved shopping the local markets and cooking a bit at home; breakfasts each day at the apartment saved us a bundle and the sweet Italian man at the market made it so enjoyable! I can not thank you enough -- we will recommend you to everyone.

We had a wonderful week at the Flaminio apartment Jan 2011

Great apartment, friendly greeter, easy and central to Piazza del Popolo.  Rene was so helpful (but discreet) it was like having our own concierge service.  We had a wonderful week at the Flaminio apartment.  The accommodations were perfectly comfortable, a well organized kitchen, very clean and easy to access. Our teenagers liked the wifi and we were toasty warm despite the chilly temperatures outside.  Rene was very helpful upon arrival with a neighborhood orientation and Stefano-the-driver was prompt, professional and responsive (even at VERY early hours of departure).   We took the subway to the Vatican (2 stops) for a tour – thank goodness we had a well organized, friendly guide (www.periegeta.it) and took the #2 tram to the MAXXI museum.  We also got lucky with last minute tickets to the Galleria Borghese (9am Sunday morning!).  And we went twice to Santa Maria del Popolo to see the Caravaggios (put the coins into the box for better light).  The kids rode the Segways around Piazza del Popolo – there was always something going on in the piazza:  music, magicians, dancers, buskers – glad we stopped for cappuccinos at the Canova Café.

Thanks to Rene for highlighting the 117 and 119 electric buses just off Piazza del Popolo – 1 Euro for 75 minutes-- we used those to get around a lot.  We took the 117 and 119 “home” and stopped by  the Di Per Di supermarket on Via Vittoria at Bocca di Leone (between Babuino and Corso) for fresh clementines almost every day.  We’d also get salami, pastries and bread at the pastry shop/salumeria on the corner of Bocca di Leone and Via della Carrozze.  Rene showed us nearby markets, too, which were quite handy.  Took the 117 bus to the Coliseum and had great fun with an Angel tour by Kevin (www.angeltoursrome.com) of the Forum.
Strongly recommend nearby “Edy” restaurant on Vicolo del Babuino – luckily we used the apartment phone for an early reservation 06-3600-1738 (otherwise there was a long waiting line). The food was excellent with great fish stock (spaghetti al cartoccio con frutti di mare),  plus good service and reasonable prices.  We tried to go back again, but Edy was full. We also really liked the pizza at PizzaRe on Via Ripetta.  The Buca di Ripetta restaurant had fantastic local Lazio wine - we pre-booked for a good table 06 321 93 91.  Along the Via Corso, we shopped, saw all the lovely churches and generally enjoyed the neighborhood on our way to and from the main sights of Rome. We liked strolling along the lively streets leading up to Piazza del Popolo and coming home to the quiet apartment.  Didn't use the balcony since the weather was a bit cold, but overall, the apartment was a perfect fit for our family.

Perfect Location Nov 2010

Our one-week stay at the Flaminio apartment was great. The combination of a perfect location, comfortable furnishings and great breakfast terrace makes it hard to beat. Italy Perfect makes it pretty easy to focus on where you are instead of how to manage. Thanks.

Flaminio Apartment Nov 2010

Overall, we very much enjoyed the Flaminio apartment. It was clean, well equipped, and very comfortable, and provided us the ideal "home base" from which to explore the city. The outside sitting area got quite a bit of use as it was a very warm and inviting place to sit and have breakfast (as well as the afternoon glass of wine while resting from days full of walking/sightseeing and getting ready for dinner). The location makes it very accessable to the Vatican and the northern sections of the city; the convenience of having the subway stop just a short walk away enabled us to access all the highlights of the city, on this, our first visit to Rome.

The greeter and landlord were very helpful, and called a couple of times to make sure things were going well.

We did have some trouble with mosquitos at night, so if it is possible to make any changes to improve that situation, it may even lead to an even better experience. That being said, it wasn't enough of a problem to ruin the experience. One other comment for "late arrivers" was that we had a bit of trouble finding a grocery store (local market was OK, but not open we arrived).

We tried a number of the local restaurants, and found all to be excellent. For other "first-timers", would highly recommend the Segway tour of the city.

Flaminio, Rome Oct 2010

Great place to stay.

Comfortable, well located, had everything we needed or expected.

Rene met us and explained local store locations and how to operate TV etc.

Italy Perfect from the beginning was great. Hadn't used you before but would be happy to again or to recommend you.

Service was excellent with extra info on phones and museum passes.

Maintenance already mentioned to Rene before leaving.

A can't miss experience Sep 2010

Just wanted to say thanks again to Pat and her team. We had a wonderful time in Rome and couldn't have asked for anything better with our time at the Flaminio. (including the shuttle service by Stefano, who had to shift his schedule around to accommodate our 3 hour flight delay in the morning) Everything met or exceeded our expectations based upon the pictures and prior reviews. Everyone was very responsive and professional. The experience of renting an apartment in Rome (over the standard hotel/tour that most Americans take while abroad) is something that we will always remember. In addition to seeing all of the sites, we had the opportunity to live like true Romans, even for just a few days. Thanks again and we would definitely recommend this apartment, neighborhood, and personnel to anyone traveling to Rome.

First rate in Rome Aug 2010

This is a classy apartment near the Piazza del Popolo (just outside the walls) in a not terribly interesting neighborhood that easily compensates by being quiet and convenient to some of the best parts of Rome ... Popolo, Spanish Steps, Via Veneto etc. all in relatively easy walking range (& Metro close by).  We found the apartment to be first class, clean and comfortable. We dearly needed the air conditioning and our two teenage grandkids loved sacking out on the living room couches after our daily excursion (essentially all we could muster for sight seeing given the 95 degree heat/fatigue in late July.  We had a great, pre-scheduled Vatican tour; unfortunately, I failed in attempts to get last minute online Colosseum tickets (shoulda, coulda done it from home!).  Rene (rental assistant) was very helpful, professional and always reachable, and doorman Lucky was delightful and helpful.  Pat Byrne who handled all the rental arrangements was extremely helpful and responsive, with many good tips and suggestions; overall excellent service

Italy Perfect, Flamino Apartment Jul 2010

Start with the transportation from and to the airport: We used Stefano as recommended by Italy Perfect (IP). Excellent service. Communicated only by email with Stefano and always a prompt reply. The accommodations were more than expected. We had Five and were OK. Would have been most comfortable with four. Wonderful veranda. Kitchen more than acceptable. Took several meals in the apartment during our stay and no issues encountered. I must say the Door Man/building Superintendent "Lucky" is a jewel, friendly and a good source of helpful information. The greeter that Italy Perfect had said would meet us was no where to be found upon our arrival. Lucky informed us that his wife would take us through the apartment. Helpful, friendly, answered our questions but not an "official greeter." Have had greeters at other locations and an "official" greeter is MOST helpful and useful way to start. The location of Flamino, from our point of view, is wonderful. Central to our needs. Close to all transportation and central for walking to many places of interest. Will be back to Italy and would not hesitate to use Italy Perfect for our housing needs in any of the Countries they serve.

Great apartment! Jul 2010

My husband and I along with our adult daughter recently spent 5 nights at Flaminio. It was a great apartment in a great location. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood in a quiet building. It is a 5 minute walk at most to public transportation, subway or bus, and a 15 minute walk to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and a multitude of restaurants and shopping. There are several grocery stores withing a couple of blocks. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. We were traveling on through Europe from Rome so having a washer and dryer was great. I contacted the manager a week before our arrival. He responded quickly and had the apartment ready for us when we got there which was a surprise because we arrived at 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. He was very helpful during our stay too. Pat suggested Stefano as a driver. I highly recommend him too. Our stay in Rome was greatly enhanced by trying an apartment instead of staying in a hotel. We will do it again next time we travel there.

Great Experience in Rome Jul 2010

We just spent 5 days in Rome at the Flaminio apartment. We were met by Rene who showed us around the place and explained how to work everything. We found the place to be just as represented in the pictures. The place was very clean and cool (the aC worked great thank goodness because it was hot)! Although Rene was a little grumpy with us for being late (due to airport delays) and because he had been told we were a party of 4, we resolved the issues and the rest of our stay he was very helpful and even helped us get dinner reservations on our last night and a taxi upon our departure. I must say we absolutely loved staying in the apartment vs a hotel. It was so much more comfortable and with the size of Rome hotel rooms, our party of 5 would have been broken up in to 2 cramped rooms. The apartment allowed us to spread out and have the common living, dining and terrace areas to gather, talk and enjoy a glass of wine before heading out for dinner in the evening. The beds were very firm by us standards but we did not find them uncomfortable. In fact, a few of us preferred the firmness. Bathrooms were clean and the master was spacious for Rome. We used the washer dryer with no problems. The apartment building is very nice inside the lobby and common areas. It felt very safe and the neighborhood being just outside of the super crowded tourist areas was a welcome quiet refuge when we got back each day. One thing I should mention, the style of the building itself (outside) does not have the same character as many of the charming, older buildings you see all around. If you are expecting the quaint old shuttered look, this doesn't have it. Pat was also so helpful, sending us a lot of information and being so responsive to all questions by e-mail. It was comforting to deal with her as I have read and heard of many horror stories about renting in a foreign country. For this reason, I will use them again when we go back.

It was my fault that Rene expecte 4 people not 5. Very sorry. Mea culpa. Also sorry that he was grumpy. I wonder if you called him, as we asked, to let him know your expected arrival time at the apartment. If you didn't do that maybe he found himself waiting around a long time without any news from you. Pat

Location! Location! Location! Jul 2010

The location of this apartment if perfect! Located in Flaminio, a little residential area just north of the Piazza del Popolo, it has great access to everything! The city unfolds in front of you as you pass through the gates of the Piazza, and nearby you also have a neighborhood market, cafeteria, metro stop, taxi stop and wonderful gelateria. The area has tree-lined streets and is safe and quiet. The apartment is comfortable, air-conditioned, has a nice wrap around balcony and is equipped with a nice library of books and maps for your use.

Convenient and comfortable Jul 2010

Flamino was a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of Roma!

We loved the easy to find location from Piazza del Popolo metro station. The building felt safe and the manager was super friendly.

We enjoyed the stay and only wish we could have been there for longer! Next time...

Great apartment Jun 2010

My family and I had a wonderful 3 weeks at the Flaminio apartment. It is a great base for exploring Rome and relaxing when you've had your fill and need to recoup . The terrace is especially delightful. The owner, Rene, was very helpful and attentive. I recommend it heartily!

Yum Jun 2010

We enjoyed everything including location, air conditioning (once we figured it out). Only drawbacks:

Renee was in France and Lucky was not too eager to help with suggestions. [I'm so sorry Lucky wasn't helpful. We will work on training him to be more helpful.]

TV only had 5 stations [You can get more channels by fiddling with the satellite receiption. Rene would have told you how, but I understand how calling him would have seemed a bit of a chore.]

Nothing left in kitchen (only 5 tea bags) no honey, no salt and pepper, nothing in fridge for welcome, local grocer was closed for renovation too

Washer took forever, dryer barely worked. Had to hang socks and underwear and pack them wet. [Sorry that's the way Italian washers and dryers (when they exist) work. We cover this in our Vacation Rental Manual document.]

Second bathroom shower did not drain all week. My son used our shower. not enough toilet paper, soap etc. Usually when we rent apts, there are enough basic supplies in kitchen and bathroom for a few days and then we replace them for the next renters. [We will certainly have the shower repaired. And apologize for inadequate supplies.]

Otherwise, we had a great time. None of the above were worth writing to you about. But you asked, so please take it as coming from my heart.

A comfortable apartment Jun 2010

The apartment is nicely furnished and relatively quiet. It is a little removed from the top attractions of Rome. The location is a little off-putting, to be honest: dirty streets, graffiti. [Sorry to say, that is the situation throughout Rome. This is an upscale neighborhood. The graffiti are everywhere and the city is not doing a good job with controlling it. Graffiti have nothing to do with gangs but are the expression of youth with not enough to do, no jobs.] Once inside the building, however, the surroundings improve significantly. Having basic supplies waiting in the kitchen--biscuits, pasta makings, and the like--made our entry more pleasant.

The most enjoyable element of the space is the terrace edging the living room. While small, it provides a lovely outdoor ambiance, a rarity in Rome. The bedrooms are quite small, and the 2nd bedroom is suitable only for one adult or two children. But the apartment was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and Lucky, the building's manager, was unfailingly helpful and cheerful.

Improvements to the experience? Having good written instructions in the unit for locating supermarkets, dialing out on the telephone, reaching the building manager by phone. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon; the only nearby food source, a small, limited market, was closed (and would be the following day, too). We had a very difficult time locating food supplies, since grocery stores in that part of the city are not visible from the street. Please help with good, written directions!!

[Sorry you didn't find the binder on the dining room table that has all of that information in great detail. On the confirmation was the phone number of your contact and in your packet was a document on how to use phones in Italy. You could have called him or asked Lucky both of whom could have told you where to find the markets. We also include a list of nearby grocery stores with addresses and days open on pages 1 and 2 of the Rome document that all guests receive before arrival. Pat, Italy Perfect]

In general, it is a pleasant, comfortable, and well-maintained apartment. As vacation rentals go, it's definitely above average. A little more effort to ease the confusion of staying independently in a complicated city would make the experience better.

[All guests receive, with their confirmations, The Italy Perfect  25-page "Manual" for Enjoying Vacation Rentals, the 16 page Italy Perfect Rome Guide, a 10 page detailed restaurant list, and a document on how to use phones in Italy. This wealth of information prepares guests on what to expect and how to plan for an apartment stay in Rome, including a detailed grocery list with addresses.  In contrast, most other vacation rental properties provide a 1 page voucher receipt and nothing else. Our emails to guests state they should read the materials which are provided in advance of their stay and in the Information Binder in the apartment to make their stay easier. Regards, Pat at Italy Perfect]

Apartment was great. May 2010

Location was great. Rene was great. Apartment was great.

Two suggestions:

1 More water pressure (may not be possible)

2 Upgrade mattress in the Master

Thank you for being our valued guest, we're delighted you enjoyed the apartment and location was great. Unfortunately the water pressure isn't something we can control, it is a common issue throughout Rome. The mattress is less than one year old and of good quality and has a memory foam mattress topper. Italian mattresses typically do not have box springs, which might be an adjustment for some guests. Balcony was really cool Apr 2010

Host was super; location fairly quiet; great size; amenities were more than adequate; markets, restaurants, stores, ATM’s were convenient. Nicely decorated and more “modern” by American standards. Dryer was a great benefit…Balcony was really cool…safe was a nice addition to have….close to the metro was great….once we figured it out…we used it exclusively…welcome basket was a nice touch…doorman was great to have for advice and information…

Flaminio for a great Italian experience Feb 2010

My husband and I, with our 2 adult children, spent a wonderful week in Rome and loved living like the Romans. What a comfortable apartment. Renee was very accommodating and very helpful. It was helpful that he spoke English to be able to explain the apartment. The doorman was also very nice. We also used Stephano, who was recommended, for transfer to and from the airport. I would also recommend him. We used the metro to travel to the Vatican without any trouble. The metro is very close, 1 block away. We walked to the beautiful Piazza del Popolo daily for taxi's and the many shops around there as well as restaurants. We loved walking everywhere to explore Roma. Loved the shopping, everything you need nearby. ATM was to the right of the entrance of the apartment as well as many restaurants, bakeries as well as grocery stores. Loved the area, so easy to use. Neighborhood was very safe and nice. My son cook a meal one evening and the kitchen had everything we needed. We traveled in January and the weather was unusually cool the week we were there, so we did not use the beautiful balcony. But, if you travel when it is warm, the doors open and the balcony is very nice. Elevator works well. The only drawback is that we could not stay longer. We hope to return someday!

Flaminio Dec 2009

Had a lovely stay with my mother, sister and niece at the Flaminio. Accommodations were very quaint and cozy for the four of us.The location was easy to walk every where too. Nice cafe's around, felt like you were part of the community. Personally, I prefer something a little more upscale but it suited our "girl trip" just fine. [We have a number of luxury apartments, just ask!] My only recommendations would be to upgrade the towels and the dishes/glasses in the kitchen. [We have inventoried and replaced towels that show wear. A note, in Italy towels are usually line-dried that makes them less fluffy that Americans are used to. We'll inventory the dishes, for sure! Pat] Your service and recommendations for tours/drivers were excellent. From Stephanio to the Alan Epstein tours, viator tours were great. Also found a cooking class with Andrea' calling cooking classes in rome, fabulous!! Great trip:)

Flaminio Review of Stay Oct. 2009 Nov 2009

A wonderful and comfortable stay in Flaminio Aug 2009

The apartment was extremely comfortable and offered everything we needed for our family of 4 for our stay. Comfortable sitting area, beds and a wrap around balcony. Our host was extremely gracious and although we had no reason to contact him after our arrival I felt as though he would be very accommodating. The location is a 5 minute walk from Piazza del Popolo, the metro, ATM's and some small restuarants. Very convenient and quiet. Finding a grocery store was a bit of a challenge but we did locate a great store off the Via del Corso. The A/C worked great as did the washer/dryer and dishwasher. We would absolutely stay here again!

[The previous guest must have removed the map showing the grocery store within one block; it has been replaced. Pat]

Flaminio Apartment Aug 2009

Rome was hot and wonderful. Flaminio is in a convenient location close to the metro and Piazza del Popolo but the entire area is under road reconstruction. The master bedroom was a good size but the second bedroom was smaller than a North American walk-in closet. The biggest complaint was when the elevator broke and there was no service for 2 days. We could not find the door man to report the elevator breakdown. Being on the top floor, it was quite a hike up and down 6 dusty floors. There was a lot of construction and renovations in the building so a lot of jack hameers and noise throughout the day from 7:00 a.m. onward. No peace and quiet for siesta. Had to drag all of our luggage down the stairs since the elevator was broken. Probably stay at a hotel next time. Overall Flaminio was a little tired and worn looking, should be 2.5 stars rather than 4 stars. Most stores and restaurants in the area were closed early due to all the road construction.

[We are so sorry to hear that there was road construction in the neighborhood that disturbed this guest's stay. It is often scheduled for the time when many Romans have left the city in August. It is impossible that the construction work continued through siesta time. That is also why many shops & restaurants are close in late August since Romans are on holiday. And we are so sorry for the inconvenience when the elevator wasn’t functioning. A note for future guests: When something like this happens, you need to call the manager whose name and number is on the confirmation. Had these guests telephoned him, he would have organized access to the service elevator for them. We are happy that they have such nice large closets in Ontario but in the middle of ancient cities, rooms are small. The small bedroom in this apartment is very standard and our photos and descriptions are accurate. If you need large rooms, well, talk to us, we have a few apartments that may suit you better if you have the budget. The living room and master bedroom furniture in the apartment are all new, so are investigating what we can do to improve guest experience. Perfect neighborhood of Rome for a family on vacation Jul 2009
We are a family of 5 and found this apartment perfect. My kids are 16, 19, and 21. It is in a perfect neighborhood of Rome for a family on vacation--quiet, pretty, safe and out of the hectic touristy part but easily within walking distance to everything. The Piazza del Popolo, a couple of blocks over, is beautiful at night and from there you have access to 3 busy, exciting streets that bring you into the heart of historic Rome. This apartment needs nothing to perfect it. It has A/C, a coffee pot(!), adequate kitchen, plenty of room, master bedroom with a balcony, privacy, a great wrap around terrace for dinners overlooking a beautiful street. Rene, the man that meets you, is friendly and helpful. I have no recommendations to ItalyPerfect to make this place better! I cannot think of anything that could have made it any more perfect than it was--honestly! Incidentally, Lisa, at ItalyPerfect sent us a lot of very helpful information that helped us greatly in our trip(our first to Europe).

Lovely spot in a great location, friendly doorman too! Jun 2009
Had a wonderful 5 days at this spot. We were able to drop off our bags early, which was helpful as we arrived early. Nice gift basket, bathrooms were clean. Appliances a bit tricky to figure out (namely washing machine/dryer and dishwasher, which we only used once at the end of our stay). Owner very nice and helpful. Highly recommend! Thank you.

Well located, within reasonable walk to most sites Jun 2009
We drove into Rome from Tuscany and we can't thank the owner enough for his recommendation that we meet him at the apartment and let him go with us to return the car! The Flaminio apartment is well located - within reasonable walking distance of most sites, but close to the metro and bus lines as well. The apartment is roomy and comfortable. We loved watching Rome come to life in the morning from the terrace. And it is just far enough away from the beaten path that you are able to get away from the crowds at the end of a busy day. Lisa, thank you for all of your help. Our experience with Italy Pefect has been great!

Flaminio: the perfect Rome apartment May 2009
This was our second visit to the Flaminio apartment, and we loved it even more than our first, if possible. Before it was just the two of us; this trip included our daughter and two teenaged granddaughters--and the apartment felt comfortably at home for all of us, and large enough that we never felt crowded. We especially love the location -- it's so close to wonderful shopping (on both sides of the river) or just evening "strolling"; there are a lot of good restaurants on the little streets off the piazza del popolo; and you can easily walk to most places within the city. The apt's owner is a charming man (he no longer lives across the hall, but is just as responsive if you need something), and the doorman is also helpful. We used Pat Bryne's recommended driver, Stefano, to and from the airport -- he was reasonable, reliable, and so easy to deal with. But our biggest treat was a private 3-hour tour of ancient Rome we booked with Alan Epstein, whose name we also found in Pat's information booklet. Alan is a charmer who clearly loves his adopted city, and his tour chatter was as entertaining as his book (When in Rome). And to end our tour, he took the time to walk with us to one of his favorite restaurants in the Jewish quarter,Dal Pompiere, where we took his recommendations and had superb pasta limone and fried carciofi (artichokes) -- liked it so much we went back there for dinner. Other favorite restaurants are Al 59 Ristorante Da Guiseppe, near the Piazza del Popolo; Checco er Carettiere in Trastevere (a wonderful family atmosphere, terrific food, and a great place for Sunday lunch); and Al Moro, on a small side street near the Trevi, where we had a memorable lunch. (Also, the fresh-ground coffee at Castroni's near the apt is delicious.) We would also recommend My Vatican Tour for really good tours of the Vatican Museum -- small groups, well-paced, with knowledgeable and enthusiastic young American guides (ours had been an art history major). Pat Byrne is excellent to deal with, and quick to respond to all our questions. So many wonderful memories -- we will definitely be back, and we will definitely stay nowhere but in one of Pat's rental apartments.

I would highly recommend your services and was very pleased with the Flamino apartment. The apartment was in a great location near the Piazza di Popolo, whereby there is excellent shopping and quaint restaurants. The apartment itself was wonderful and the doorman was superb. Our luggage was lost when we arrived and the greeter was very helpful and concerned with anything we would need until our luggage arrived.

Spacious, clean and welcoming sanctuary Apr 2009
hey, I LOVED this penthouse. Stayed for a week with a girlfriend while researching a novel. From our greeting and orientation with the owner on arrival (who lives only a few blocks away) to the balcony for late day prosecco to the fact it was a retreat from the noise and hectic crowds of the old city--yet just outside the gates at the piazza del popolo, with everything walking distance (well all of old rome is walkable if you are wearning the right shoes! and are in shape). The suite was clean, bright, cheerful and welcoming--a basket of food goodies left for us in the kitchen made our stay even better. We also appreciated that the owner, was a phone call and a block or two away if we needed him--and we didn't but it was reassuring to have the option.A lot of TLC has gone into this suite--and we could not have been more comfortable and at home if we were home. Pat Byrne is such a great liason--thanks Pat! Lori

Flaminio Apartment Apr 2009
The apartment worked out well for us. All of the furniture was comfortable, the facilities were as expected. The location was perfect for us. We were very glad to have the elevator after the marathon! We particularly enjoyed a meal at Mare, a new seafood restaurant on the Via di Ripetta just off the piazza.

Up on the top floor, with a lovely wide wrap round balcony Dec 2008

One of the best positioned apartments in the building. Up on the top floor, with a lovely wide wrap round balcony. For a family the apartment is a good plan as the children's bedroom was off the living space and set apart from the main bedroom. Wonderful having a washing machine and separate dryer (in good condition and good working order ) and having it out on the balcony was not a problem, made it very quiet. The building super was always very helpful and spoke perfect english. The area around the apartment is fine. Little supermarket just around the corner. Within walking distance to all the ancient parts of the city, although we used taxis a lot from the Piazza del Popolo as one of our children can't walk long distances. Walking up through the Borghese Gardens is the BEST and has delightful views of Rome.

We had a fabulous time in Rome. Dec 2008

I thought the Flaminio was great. The apartment is extremely roomy and comfortable. The amenities are plentiful - much more so than other apartments I have rented. It was also immaculate. Renee, the owner was gracious and so very accommodating. There was even a welcome basket of goodies for us. The location is perfect - as a light sleeper, I certainly appreciated the quiet neighborhood. There are several local restaurants within just a couple of blocks of the apartment - as well as a small supermarket. We had no problems. It was a perfect vacation. Your service was superb. Thanks also for all the literature you provided. I'll be back for sure.

Flaminio Nov 2008
We really enjoyed staying in the Flaminio apartment. The neighborhood is very safe and convenient. The apartment is a somewhat plainly furnished but clean and very comfortable. The terrace is nice and the bathrooms have been nicely renovated. The dryer did not work while we were there and the elevator was spotty. The apartment manager/owner, Pat and Stefano were all great and really helped make a memorable vacation. We would absolutely stay in the Flaminio apartment and use Italy Perfect/Excellent Europe again.

Spacious and comfortable Nov 2008

Overall the apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Our host was extremely welcoming and helpful.I have two improvement comments: The apartment, while lovely in daylight, was a bit depressing in the evenings as the lighting in all of the rooms (including the master bath) was so dim. [Good suggestion. We will replace some bulbs but they will be energy savers, so will be slow to reach full illumination. Pat] While we understand that electricity in Europe is costly, I think brighter lighting would go a very, very long way toward making the apartment a five star apartment. I would suggest that the apartment get new towels and bath mats, as ours were pretty thin and grey. [We have replaced a number of older towels. Pat] This is cosmetic, but it seems a shame with such a lovely apartment and nice owner to not have the whole thing be perfect. On the repair / general maintenance side, I have two comments also: The master bath was huge and really lovely, but the water pressure terrible.[We think Denise didn't know how to turn on the "high" setting, but will replace the fixture to be easier to use. Pat] So we used the second bathroom for showers, which wasn't as nice. Also, in master bath, the toilet gave off an unpleasant odor, suggesting that there is a plumbing problem. [We think that had to do with the flooding of the city; but there was no smell before or after the guest stay; wish they had let us know while they were there. Pat] The neighborhood was very convenient, a little lonely on weekends as the neighboring offices were closed. Our host recommended the caffe around the corner for morning coffee, La Carrera was the name I think, and it was perfect. The owners and employees were really, really nice. The service from Italy Perfect was, well, perfect! And we really appreciated the driver service that you recommended, Stefano. He was prompt and pleasant.

It was nice having the balcony to relax on Apr 2008

We had a great trip and our girls just loved Rome. The morning that we had to switch apts, we had an audience with the Pope scheduled. The man that helps you came over and picked up our bags and moved us over to the other apt. so that we could make the audience. We were so grateful to him and really appreciated his going out of his way to accomodate us. The Flaminio apt was great. It was nice having the balcony to relax on when we returned after a day of walking and site seeing. It was convenient to the Piazza Popollo so if we needed a cab, we could get one easliy. The only thing with the apt that was a drawback was the shower in the master bath. [Low water pressure is a city-wide problem] But we made do. We would definitely use your services again and have passed your name on to friends and family that are going over to Europe.

Very comfortable even for my husband, who is 6 feet four. Mar 2008

What a wonderful apartment we had in Rome at Il Flaminio. The apartment was spacious, light, and bright, and very comfortable even for my husband, who is 6 feet four. Even though it was very early March, we were able to eat breakfast out on the terrace a couple of mornings.

The location is really great. I thought it might be a little far from the city center, when I looked at the map, but I was entirely wrong. It was just steps from the Piazza del Popolo, an historic piazza but without the throngs of tourists and tacky tourist stands you find on some of the other famous piazzas. Important churches are there, streets fanning out to the most important attractions, many excellent restaurants, and a taxi stand.

We found the little supermarket around the corner perfectly adequate and friendly (You'll find the fresh bread at the butcher's counter, by the way).

The Villa Borghese is next door, where you can find our favorite museum -- the lovely Gallerie Borghese, located on the other side of the park. Because we were there on the first Sunday in March, we were able to walk right in; however, by Friday, all the timed entrances were booked. We were also able to walk right in to the Vatican Museum.

We also found a number of good restaurants near the apartment, especially off of the Via Ripetta, on your right as you cross the Piazza del Popolo. One of the very best was just off the Via Ripetta, the very first right after you leave the Piazza the Osteria St. Ana down about two blocks -- Via del Penna 68. Don't be put off by the entrance; you have to go down some steps and then the restaurant is in the back – wonderful food, wonderful ambiance (warm, family Italian rather than elegant), friendly service.

To sum up, despite several rainy days, we had a great time and the apartment was really wonderful. We rent places quite often and this was, by far, the best.

Also great was Pat's help; she really made us feel comfortable with the transaction and was so completely thorough in preparing us for a great holiday.

The Flaminio apartment was so comfortable. Jan 2008

Our stay in Rome was fabulous. The Flaminio apartment was so comfortable. The greeter was so thorough in showing us the apartment.  One day he called to make sure that we were ok. We cooked practically every night. The bottles of wine that we consumed. The neighborhood was wonderful. We lived in Castroni's; too many wonderful food items to choose. Renting an apartment immediately puts you in a native mode. Some of the neighborhoods even spoke to us. The doorman was charming. Stefano [private driver] was very punctual in picking us up and taking us back to the airport. Our walking tours were great. We used all forms of transportation. Unfortunately, the exchange rate was terrible at the cambios, so we used the bank that was near the apartment. Their rates were very good. It really helped. When Ted and I return to Italy (Florence and Venice), we will use your company again. Thank you (Grazie).

We found everything to be just as advertised on your website Aug 2007

We had a great time at both apartments -the Flaminio in Rome and the Prisco in Florence. We found everything to be just as advertised on your website - in fact, even better! We decided on ItalyPerfect after having a wonderful stay with ParisPerfect two years ago. Our hosts, Rene in Rome and Miki and Franco in Florence were delightful and welcoming. Everything in the apartments was of high quality yet both were informal and easy to use. The locations were ideal. The whole experience was so simple and straightforward to book and organize. We have already passed on details to friends. We look forward to booking with you again!

It's very nice to have a lot of the conveniences of home. Jul 2007

Let me say this up front....the entire trip was one of the best we've taken. We usually mix our time when we travel staying in the countryside and city center. We rented a villa in Tuscany for the first week of our stay and, frankly, I wasn't looking forward to moving into Rome. However, it was spectacular. The termini is a bit unnerving for the novice upon arrival but we used Stefano and it was very pleasant to have them meet you at the termini and whisk you away to the flat. The owner of Il Flaminio was very cordial and gave us great advice on where to eat, things to see, etc. He made us very comfortable. The apartment was extremely comfortable and spacious. It's very nice to have a lot of the conveniences of home such as well equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. For city living it was very quiet and we enjoyed waking in the morning to a fresh breeze blowing through the floor to ceiling doors and windows. Pretty much every evening we'd sit on one of balconies surrounding the apartment and have a glass of wine. Italy produces some really great red wines for the enthusiast. I would highly recommend this accomodation.

It is very conveniently located within walking distance to virtually everything in the historic part of Rome. We could walk to the coliseum, Vatican, Piazza Novella, Spanish Steps, Forum, you name it, within 30 minutes. I think we enjoyed strolling the back streets and bumping into the hidden piazzas throughout Rome most. The best way to see Rome is to get a bit lost, but we found that very difficult to do. It's a very easy city to get around in. We felt extremely safe anytime of day or night and since most of the vehicular traffic has been banned from central Rome it is very pedestrian oriented, quiet, and clean. We have travelled to about a dozen European countries and had virtually no problems at all in Italy and I can't think of any drawbacks regarding our Rome or Italian vacation. The local populace is very accepting of Americans, surprisingly. The only thing that surprised me was when we were in our seats waiting for the train departure from Rome back to Florence a lady came walking down the aisle begging for money to help support she and her child. I don't know if that is common practice or the rail employees just didn't know she was doing that. But, like any large city, those kinds of things happen on the streets of Rome and in the termini. One just has to accept it as part of life, I suppose.

Again, the location of the apartment couldn't have been better located in terms of convenience to sites and being in a quiet location. Tips for future guests? Book an escorted tour of the Vatican before arrival in Rome. The wait in the queus are hours and I don't think I'd waste the time if I didn't have a prearranged tour. Secondly, don't eat in tratorias, restaurants, etc that are located directly in the main piazzas. They are there mainly for the tourist industry and therefore a little on the pricey side. It's best to venture off the piazzas down one of the many smaller streets for food and libations. One I would recommend is Rist. Tritone on Via Dei Maroniti. The service and food quality was extraordinary and the cost was very reasonable. Most quality establishments cost for 4 people ran around $160 for a 4 course meal with wine which we found to be about average. Therefore, be prepared for the euro to dollar shock. We controlled them impact by having a nice breakfast in the apartment and snacking during the day before a nice meal in the evening. Plan on doing any shopping before 1 PM or after 3 PM. That's when everything closes down for lunch/siesta. Food establishments don't open for dinner until 7 PM and remain open until after midnight.

Your assistance in arranging our Rome visit and rail transportation is greatly appreciated. It made our trip most enjoyable and we'd certainly recommend your services to anyone. I can't think of a thing that would improve your level of service. We were very satisfied with what you did for us. It was a real pleasure to work with you on this trip and I want to thank you for making it a huge success.

The apartment was everything you promised: Jun 2007

We are back from our Italian trip, and I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the Flaminio apartment. The apartment was everything you promised: spacious, well located and well equipped. It was such fun to shop in the neighborhood and prepare food. As someone who loves to cook, our past trips to Italy have left me frustrated every time I passed a beautiful fruit and vegetable stand or cheese shop. This was the opportunity not only to prepare dishes with the freshest produce I've ever tasted, but also to practice my beginners level Italian with the patient, good natured vendors. This was our first stay in an apartment in Italy, and it certainly won't be our last. Thanks for all your help.

Ciao, Ellen E

We were well pleased May 2007

We were well pleased with both places [Toscanella in Florence, Flaminio in Rome]. Their locations are excellent and the facilities are very comfortable.

Everything worked out well from start to finish. Mar 2007

We returned home last Tuesday following enchanted and enchanting visits to Paris, Florence and Rome. The latter was the real summit in many ways thanks to the comfort and convenience of the Flaminio apartment. Everything worked out well from start to finish. We bought Rome Passes for 3 days during our stay and were able to take in a host of sites all around the city, including a walk on the Appia Antica. With the exception of one day, the weather was excellent. We'll be back for sure.

Rene is phenomel. Jan 2007

We spent five days over the Christmas holidays in the Flamino apartment and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent - it is very easy to walk anywhere you would like to go or to catch the metro.  The apartment itself is very pleasant - comfortable, spacious and well-maintained.  Rene is phenomenal.  He is very helpful and highly professional.  He really makes an effort to ensure that your stay is good and you have everything you need. We would definitely stay in this apartment again.

The lovely spacious apartment worked perfectly for us. Aug 2006

Rome was fantastic as always and the lovely spacious apartment worked perfectly for us from size to location to the the detail guide notes you shared. The porter [doorman]was splendid also and offered many suggestions as we set out daily explore, see and visit Rome..he even lent us his personal Rome small size guide book.

It is a great place Jul 2006

I'm sorry to say that we arrived home last night after a wonderful time in Italy. If you speak to [the owner], please let him know how much we enjoyed his wonderful apartment. It is a great place, and I would be happy to offer a reference if you are ever in need of one. Also, please let him know that the driver arrived to take us to the airport right on time, and that we appreciate his assistance in making those arrangements.

The Flaminio apartment was so neat, Jul 2006

We would like to thank you for all your assistance in our recent trip to Italy.  Both apartments were above my expectations and worked perfectly for us!  The Flaminio apartment was so neat, was newly remodeled, well located. We will definitely recommend your site to our friends going to Europe.

The apartment in Rome was fantastic! Jul 2006

We had a wonderful time in Rome. The apartment in Rome was fantastic! Very roomy and comfortable.

Location: The location was wonderful. Just a short walk to Piazza del Popolo and even closer to the metro station.

Drawbacks: The laundry [room] being out on the patio was a bit of a hassle because of having to keep the screens lowered on that side of the building during the day

Nearby sites: There is a fantastic restaurant up in Villa Borghese called CASINA VALADIER. It was pricey, but had fantastic food. An easy evening walk from the apartment. web site www.casinavaladier.it

Tips: Don't get hung up on the owner's seeming obsession with the electricity usage. He practically petrified us that we would end up owing some exorbitant amount for going over the alloted kilowatt hours. In fact, we did several loads of laundry a day, ran the dishwasher a few times, and kept the a/c at "American Cold" and we only had to leave 20 euros.

We had a terrific time staying in your apartment... May 2006

Everything was great and Rene could not have been nicer. He gave us a little primer on where we were, and what was close by (banca, tobacco stand, market, etc.) We had plenty of room for five. We drew straws on who got the master ,and I lost! We especially enjoyed opening the windows at night for the cool breezes. The girls in the master complained about a loud bird that woke them up WAY too early. HOWEVER, in a day he migrated to the front of the building. We really enjoyed the terrace after a day out sightseeing...wine and appetizers (love those marinated olives from the market around the corner, and also found that great Moretti beer there, try the soft cheese on the brushetta also). We were able to walk to all the restaurants, and that was a big money-saver! I do recommend going to the Borghese -they were having a special exhibit of Raphael there at the time...you have to make reservations online for a two hour time -slot or you will not get in. They were turning people away left and right. More...

We could have easily stayed there for a month, it was so comfortable. May 2006

We had a great week in Rome and enjoyed our stay at the Flaminio apartment. The accommodations were excellent. With the exception of low water pressure [a common issue throughout Rome, pb], everything was fine. The water pressure is beyond your control, so we don't allow it to reflect on the apartment. We could have easily stayed there for a month, it was so comfortable.

The location was very good. We always felt safe and it was quiet since we weren't on a busy street

We had a wonderful time Apr 2006

We had a wonderful time and the accommodations in both apartments [Casetta &Flaminio] were great. Thanks again.

The apartment was very comfortable and in a great location. Apr 2006

The owner was very accommodating and charming. I would highly recommend him. The apartment was very comfortable and in a great location. The apartment for me was in an ideal location...within two blocks of the Piazza del Popolo. From this beautiful piazza, walk to the left and within less than 10 minutes (but who's in a hurry in Rome), you have the Spanish Steps. The center street, Via del Corso, is for shopping, and to the right, Via Ripetta has plenty of good restaurants and a nice wine shop.

Mary Pat S, New Jersey

We had an excellent visit. Mar 2006

We loved the flat. It was so comfortable, well outfitted and charmingly decorated in a style that matches our taste. In fact, we would be happy to return to it on a future visit. Flaminio is a perfect location -- steps to everything, yet pleasantly "off the beaten track."

We all thought the apartment was great. Aug 2005

Our trip was everything we had hoped - lots of uninterrupted quality time for the four of us - and more.

We all thought the apartment was great. Lots of natural light and afternoon breezes. Well equipped. Excellent location. Thank you for your help in making our stay possible.
