Conveniently located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, the Palazzo Antellesi is a landmark Renaissance Palazzo, and one of the few left in the historic center of Florence with a dramatic frescoed facade.

Piazza Santa Croce is a traffic free square but the people going through the square in the evenings may be noisy. Piazza Santa Croce is the site of occasional events. Watching the Calcio Storico in June (soccer in costumes see photos) from the Palazzo is an exciting privilege. The Christmas Market is fun, too. Other events can include theater, music concerts and ceremonies that you may enjoy or find noisy or both! Many people passing through Piazza Santa Croce notice Giovanni di Ser Giovanni's 1620 frescoes on the overhanging facade this handsome building, but few realize they can actually stay here. The 16th-century palazzo is owned by the gracious Contessa Piccolomini, who rents out truly spacious apartments to anyone who has ever dreamed of lying in bed near a roaring fire under a 17th-century frescoed ceiling or sipping tea in a living room surrounded by trompe d'oeil Roman ruins with a 16th-century wood ceiling above.

Very light, overlooking the private Renaissance garden. Elegant and spacious living/dining room with working fireplace and frescoed ceiling. To preserve the integrity of the ceiling, the hallway is separated by half-height walls with handsome columns forming the entry.

Three bedrooms (one with queen-size bed, one with two single beds, and one with a single). The twin bedrooms  has breathtaking eighteenth century stucco and pastel decorations.

Two bathrooms (one with tub and shower, one with shower), and a small toilet.

Complete built-in kitchen. Washing machine and dishwasher.
