Charming top floor apartment with piazza and rooftop views in a great central location.
Conveniently located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, the palazzo is a landmark Renaissance Palazzo, and one of the few left in the historic center of Florence with a dramatic frescoed facade.
Many people passing through Piazza Santa Croce notice Giovanni di Ser Giovanni's 1620 frescoes on the overhanging facade this handsome building, but few realize they can actually stay here. The 16th-century palazzo is owned by the gracious Contessa Piccolomini, who rents out truly spacious apartments to anyone who has ever dreamed of lying in bed near a roaring fire under a 17th-century frescoed ceiling or sipping tea in a living room surrounded by trompe d'oeil Roman ruins with a 16th-century wood ceiling above.
Piazza Santa Croce is a traffic free square but the people going through the square in the evenings may be noisy. Occasional events like the Calcio Storico (soccer in historic costumes) on June 18, 19 and 24th can be noisy.
On fifth floor (American designation) of of the building adjoining Palazzo Santa Croce. It is also an ancient building but because it doesn't have the historic denomination of the neighboring building, a few more things could be done in the remodeling.
Views of Florence rooftops, landmarks and Piazza Santa Croce, depending on the room. Elevator to third floor, 19 wooden steps to apartment entrance; be sure you are ready to lug your luggage up one flight.
Luxurious master bedroom with queen size bed that can be divided into twins. Overlooks Piazza Santa Croce. The bed is 5 inches shorter than a UK/American queen and 1 inch wider, dimensions are 74" x 64".
Second bedroom with twin size beds with en suite bathroom with tub/shower. The twin beds are placed foot to foot in a narrow room.
Second bathroom with shower.
Living/dining room with a sofa that pulls out into a twin sofa bed and two easy chairs.
The kitchen is compact, but a beautiful, large hutch supplements its storage and working area.
Independent heating and central air-conditioning.
Facilities: Dishwasher, washer/dryer, electric oven, microwave, toaster, American coffee maker, satellite TV, stereo hi-fi, CD and DVD pla

| Giaggiolo apartment was perfect for us | Apr 2012 |
Thank you Italy Perfect for making our Florence vacation so special. The Giaggiolo apartment was perfect for us, all your Florence information too was great, really helped us plan our stay, where to go, what to see, private tour guide. Thanks too for the private driver recommendation, Marco who took us on a day tour of the Tuscany countryside. |

Your attention to detail is impressive. We were very pleased with the Giaggiolo apartment, walked everywhere! Loved being so centrally located so there was no need for taxis or busses. Had a nice stay and would love to return again someday. Thanks for all your help. |

| Nice place to stay | May 2011 |
The apartment was comfortable for our family of five with children ranging 8-15. Convenient and walking distance to most attractions in florence including the train station. The management was welcoming, supportive in helping us settle in town easily for our week. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. I would recommend Vivoli for the gelato and Billa for the supermarket. We bought some bus tickets which we did not need at all. Could not have asked for a better stay! |

| Giaggiolo | Dec 2010 |
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Giaggiolo apartment. It is centrally located and has lovely views of Florence. Everything was perfectly clean and in good order. When things did break, the staff was diligent and prompt in fixing them. The office is nearby, a major advantage. The people who managed the apartment could not have been nicer or easier to deal with. Two considerations, neither of them the fault of the apartment: (1) during the spring, summer and fall the square gets a crowd of young people every night -- they make background noise until the early hours of the morning, but you get used to it pretty quickly; (2) the Internet service for the city of Florence can be spotty -- whenever it rains a lot the service seems to go out -- but this also was not attributable to the apartment. Overall this is a great place to stay if you want to spend some time in Florence, as everyone should. |

| The most beautiful apartment in the world. | Jul 2008 |
Oh my gosh, the trip was the most beautiful experience we could have asked for. Wonderful!!! Thank you for your services! I would go back tonight if I had the chance. The Medici Apartment in Florence is simply the most beautiful apartment in the world. Perfect for our big group. Stately and palatial, with every accommodation we could want. Huge windows open onto the square where excitement and life take place before your eyes. Felt like living in a Renaissance Palace!!! Renee, who manages the Pallazzo, was so wonderful and kind and warm. We most enjoyed the sights, the activity on the Piazza, the local cafes in the Ambrogio (sp?) neighborhood, the art, the palatial, restful apartment. The art, the art, the art! Noise was an issue but we got a system down of using the air conditioners and fans at night to drown out the partying on the square. It turned out fine and we got used to the system of windows closed and white noise on. No other drawbacks or problems at all - everything was truly perfect. The noise wouldn't have bothered us if we didn't have to be up in the AM with the kids, if we could have slept late like the locals it would have been fine. Perfect, the perfect location - walked everywhere and best gellati in the world was only two blocks away. the Medici Apartment is right in the middle of things - the ONLY place to stay in Florence is what we all decided. The Ambrogio neighborhood was perfect, very authentic and no tourists, The Standa market was perfect - we went there daily to get food to cook in our apartment every night. We ate out only once and enjoyed great dinners around the huge dining room table. The leather school behind Santa Croce was wonderful! Tips: Try to live like a local, get off the beaten path, book museum tickets ahead of time from home to avoid lines. Your service was wonderful and thorough and helpful in every way. Seriously. |

| Miravista was light and lovely | Jul 2005 |
We rented two apartments in Palazzo Santa Croce from July 2nd to the 16th and spent 6 weeks in Italy overall. It was a marvelous trip and we have returned highly recommending staying in apartments to our friends. We loved and would certainly return to apartments in Florence, particularly Miravista which was light and lovely, and had the wonderful terrace. |

| Donatello was grand | May 2005 |
The Palazzo Santa Croce was the perfect base for our daily wanderings through Florence. Donatello was grand and more than large enough for the four of us. |
