The ideal location of this apartment puts you right in the center of Florence.
This apartment is in a wonderful, central location, steps from the Ponte Vecchio bridge and also very close to our Ponte Vecchio and Casetta Bonsi apartments. This is the popular Oltrarno area of Florence.
It overlooks a very interesting historical and artistic Florentine landmark, the Vasari corridor, an aerial passageway built by Cosimo di Medici in the 1500s to connect his nearby Pitti palace to his offices in the Uffizi.
This district of Florence is called the Oltrarno and is very popular because of its proximity to all the popular sights. It is also close to the expansive Boboli gardens, so if you need a break from museums and architecture, the gardens are a wonderful attraction. Not far is Piazza Santo Spirito where you can visit a weekday outdoor fruit and vegetable market.
Although the post-war construction in Florence lack the charm of the older buildings, the building is handsome, fits well with its older neighbors and the apartments are well laid out and efficient.
The building interior hallways are clean and freshly painted. There are several steps up to a small elevator.
The apartment is located on the 5th floor (American designation, 4th European).
There is a small foyer when you enter the apartment that has a little table and mirror. The bedroom is directly in front of you and is spacious and charming. The bed, which can be prepared as a dual-king or 2 twins, is a standard Italian-style thick mattress that can be configured with an orthopedic ba
The cosy living room is down the hall; it is cute & bright. There is a nice white leather sofa and two upholstered chair. They fit the space nicely and provide good seating. One side of the living room overlooks the street, Via de' Bardi below, with tall windows that go to the floor. The other corner of the living room has French doors that open onto the terrace. The floors throughout are original composite marble.
The terrace is the most charming feature of the apartment. Large and well maintained, it has a potted olive tree, some well-tended potted plants and a bistro table with two chairs. On sunny days you can extend a canvas awning over most of the length of the terrace. If you have your heart set on finding a small, well located, nice apartment with a good terrace the Bardi apartment fits the bill.
A second set of double doors lead from the terrace to the kitchen. The terrace is a wonderful spot for meals or cocktails outdoors on balmy days. Church bells toll and it's a wonderful sound while you sip your morning coffee or dine al fresco.
The fully renovated kitchen has an electric stove and oven, toaster, under-the-counter refrigerator, microwave, blender, pots, pans, utensils. Italian and American style coffee pots. No dishwasher.
The bathroom has a shower, sink, bidet and toilet.
The living room and bedroom are air conditioned. With windows open you will experience some noise from pedestrians in the street down below since the popular Ponte Vecchio area gets crowded. It is five floors up so that helps, also the living room and bedroom have double glazed windows that provide good sound insulation. If you sleep with the windows closed at night noise is not an issue. If you keep the windows open you would need to be comfortable with city sounds.
The washing machine is on the terrace. There is a drying rack for clothes you can put on the terrace.

| All the comforts of home plus more | Nov 2011 |
We stayed a week in the Bardi apartment in Florence this last October and were very impressed with all the amenities offered. The apartment had everything we would have needed and wanted: excellent shower, washing machine, comfortable bed, wireless access, multiple kitchen appliances, and a spacious balcony. Although the apartment is located in a highly-trafficed area near the Ponte Vecchio, the soundproof glass prevented the noise from disturbing us. Having an excellent grocery store just steps away from the apartment was very convenient. For those coming the first time to Florence, this location was excellent as it is close to many of the major sites: the Ponte Vecchio, the Ufizzi, the Pitti Palace, et al. Most sites are walkable, and public transportation is convenient and inexpensive to those farther afield. The staff at Italy Perfect was helpful prior to the trip when I had questions about a few items. I would recommend booking through this company as the staff were service-oriented and professional. |

| Great location in Florence | Oct 2011 |
We have just returned from a most enjoyable trip to Italy including 6 nights in the lovely Bardi Apartment. It`s central location means you are able to walk to all places of note in Florence. Despite the location the double glazed windows & shutters on the outside cut out the noise & light at night. The terrace is a pleasant outside area, such a bonus when you are in the heart of the action adjacent to the Ponte Vecchio. We had dinner at the Golden View Restaurant directly over the road on 2 occasions & this is great for when you don`t want to go too far after a long day.The supermarket downstairs in the Apartment building is very good & extremely convenient. We really appreciated suggestions from previous Bardi residents & one of our most enjoyable days was when we just wandered the nearby streets & went to the Santa Trinita Church(just adjacent to the other end of the Ponte Santa Trinita), listened to the sung mass at 12.30 at the Bardi Fiorentina, toured the Santa Croce Church(sadly some restoration work there at the moment but still beautiful) & walked the many steps to Piazza Michelangelo to look at the wonderful view over Florence. Italy perfect as in our previous trip to Rome have been always very helpful with organising our accommodation & making suggestions for our trip. |

| Fantastic Firenze | Sep 2011 |
The apartment is ideally situated for a week's worth of sight seeing in this beautiful City, very comfortable and a real joy (whether sitting in the air conditioned rooms or on the balcony). The added bonus is a very convenient super-market nearby for when you want to "eat in". Thank you for a wonderful week in Firenze. Thank you for the wine, chocolates and roses on our arrival. Grazie mille. Our two tips would be Buy a Firenze card - you have 72 hours to visit most of the major cultural sites and you dont have to queue Lonely Planet Guide recommendations on food are great

| What a trip! | Jun 2011 |
Overall, it was an excellent experience and the owner is lovely. The apartment is very cute and extremely well located. The next door supermarket is excellent and open 7 days. You are walking distance from everything yet out of the worst of the tourist hordes. The neighborhood is just great. There are many, many places to eat in the Oltrarno and Boblini and San Frediano areas that are not much freqented by tourists and have great food, good service and much better prices. The Lonely Planet Guide to Florence has some very good recommendations. The apartment kitchen does have a real oven (unusual and great) and good supply of pots/dishes. There's even a food processor and microwave. The A/C was a big boon the last 10 days of May where it was over 90F nearly every day. Some things not to be missed are the Capella Brancacci, Santa Felicita` (located right around the corner and ONLY open Fridays from 3 - 6 but so worth it for the inner chapel with frescoes and FREE). The hike to San Miniato is not to be missed and also the Bardini Garden (pack a picnic). Do have gelato at Gelataria Passerella in the Piazza Passerella! Try the lunch buffet at Antica Mescita`. Do see Santa Trinita for its frescoes and della Robbia tiles. Do go to the apperitivo hour at La Dolce Vita in the Piazza del Carmine. A drink gets you the buffet included; a cheap and fun way to have dinner. Check out the opera performances at St. Mark's Anglican church on via del Maggio and pick up a free copy of the Florentine to find out absolutely everything that's going on, written in English. Absolutely do not miss going to the sung mass at Badia Fiorentina at 12:30 any day. It's 35 minutes of 4 part a capella harmony that is ethereal! Anyone interested in guided day trips, cooking classes, art lessons, winery tours, language classes, etc. should go to beyondtheyalladog.com to contact Penny Howard who can arrange just about anything at reasonable prices. I found her because of a visit to the B&M Bookstore and am thrilled I did. She set up two all day painting lessons with Alan Lawson from the Florence Academy of Art, a lesson in making Florentine marbled paper at a wonderful shop that is working on rebinding a lot of Bernard Berenson's library, introduced me to YAWN (Young Anglo Women's Network) and a host of other things. These were some of the best parts of my trip. Visit the Piazza Santo Spirito for very good reasonable restaurants and a lovely couple of ladies who sell good vegetables, fruit and eggs and, of course, the Saturday market. Sometimes on Sunday there is a nice man from Lucca who sells heavenly hand-made sausages and cheeses. |

| We loved the Bardi | Apr 2011 |
Our stay in the "Bardi" was excellent! We stayed for 30 days (for our 30th anniversary) from the middle of October to the middle of November. Our greeter, Giovanni, showed us how everything worked. He left his email and phone number in case we any questions- we did email him a couple of times and he responded back promptly, once by email once by phone. The location is perfect. You are where everyone wants to be. You are about 30 steps from the ponte vecchio. The grocery store is about 10 steps away and a great bakery another 10 steps in the other direction. (try the chocolate cake- yum). The building is quiet and your elevator takes you to your own floor. The apartment is smallish but feels large because of the high ceilings. The bedroom is very large with extra pillows and blankets in the closet. The family room is cozy and comfortable with two reading chairs and a couch. The TV only gets a couple of english channels - but you're not really here to watch it anyway. The wifi works well and is very fast. The code is located on the bottom of the modem in the bedroom. The balcony is the best! It is extremely large. We ate and drank wine at the table and chairs almost daily. We bought a table cloth, some nice wine glasses and some large sky-blue plates at a couple of outdoor bazaars so we could really enjoy dining Italian style. (we left everything - enjoy). Our daughters, one husband, and another friend came for ten days and joined us for meals on the balcony and it was very comfortable. (they stayed in their own apartments across town- this is definitely a one couple apartment). The bathroom is laid out well and looks fresh and new. (I never could figure out how to use the bidet.) The one drawback, if I had to choose one, was that the kitchen was pretty small and the wooden countertop was hard to work with. This is probably the only part of the apartment that doesn't look like it was redone recently. However the oven and stove worked well (only two burners at a time or you will trip the breaker - make sure Giovanni shows you where the panel is located). The washer and clothes line worked like a charm. I was surprised how soft the clothes were when they dried. I expected them to be crunchy (yes I know I'm weird - my wife tells me all of the time). You can tell the owner has taken great pride in this place. The upgrades with recessed lighting, dual pane windows + another single pane over those shut out any noise from the busy street below. The roll down shutters on all of the windows block out all light when closed. This is a place you are going to love! I know that we loved the reviews that told us about some of their favorite places so I will include some of ours but I know you will discover many of your own. We really enjoyed dinner at Mamma Gina's, which is just down the street. Very traditional Italian filled with locals and some tourists. Gusto pizza, by Santo Spirito, is a locals pizza place. You order at the door and find a chair and table. You will get chummy because seating is tight and people will join you if there is an open chair. Dont try to share your pizza. You think you will want to, but once you start eating you'll want your own and the line can get long. Loved the local Italian beer there. Our favorite gelato place was Perche no (why not?). It is the oldest gelato place in Florence. The owner, a lovely blond woman, is really sweet and insisted we try something new each time. The banana was insanely good (I know you're thinking yuck, or that's not my cup of tea, but it was delicious!) We loved having wine on the terrace overlooking the wall that surrounds the city. It was at a resturant located as you are leaving piazza Michelangelo and heading toward the very old church (which is also worth seeing). We also loved our visit to the Santa croce church. Alot of history's famous are entombed here. Another beautiful church is the Trinitiana by the Arno. The art will blow you away. If you are lucky enough to be there the last Sunday of the month the antique fair in the Piazza Ciompi is a really fun morning. I have so many more but this has gotten very long. You will love Firenze. |

| Bardi is the best | Oct 2010 |
What a fabulous apartment and location. Close to everything, yet on the other side of the Arno where there are far less hotels and tourists, giving the neighbourhood more of a locals feel. The soundproofing on the windows was wonderful, making the apartment very quiet at night. And the terrace was a real bonus. We spent every evening out there at some point with a glass of wine taking in all the bustle and sounds of the city. Highly, highly recommended. |

| Well located and charming apartment | Sep 2010 |
We came back on Monday from our trip to Italy during which, while in Florence, we stayed at your Bardi apartment. I want you to know that we loved our stay there. Our greeters were most helpful; the apartment was ideally located, comfortable, clean and delightful, particularly the terrace with the awning that protected us from the mid-day sun. Unlike many vacation rentals in Europe, this one has plenty of extra bath towels and linens. A very nice touch. We left Florence late at night and were allowed to keep our bags in the apartment because there were no guests coming in the next day. The owners could have charged an extra day, but they were kind enough not to take advantage of us. All in all, we had a most wonderful stay in Florence. We are planning to return to Florence next fall and if the Bardi is available, we will book it without hesitation. |

| I could go back tomorrow to the Bardi apartment. | Aug 2010 |
I had a wonderful time. The apartment was as usual lovely. Interesting that there is a comprehensive supermarket next door now. The air conditioning worked well, but we did not use it too much. The electric awning screened the sun on the patio and was perfect. The owner knew that I was coming with a friend and made the King bed into twin beds. Much appreciated. This might not be one of the super modern places but I just love it and shall be back. Your service was excellent. I loved the Florence tips. In fact I had two guided tours of the Uffizi (pre booked - a must) with different people (a friend and a cousin) and they were both grand and different. The restaurant across the street is great [Golden View Open Bar]. For 10 Euros you can get a glass of wine (or whatever), sit by the Arno if you go early enough and they serve free appetizers. Starts at 7:00 pm. There are too many sights to mention as you know, but this city is a walking place. Easy to get anywhere. I could go back tomorrow to the Bardi apartment. |

| The apartment is great, it was immaculate | Apr 2010 |
The apartment is great, it was immaculate and everything worked very well. I loved the neighborhood. The greeter could not have been nicer. In fact, when I called him the Saturday before from Rome, he offered up an early check-in. I called again on Monday morning from Roma Centrale Termini and all was a "go." Upon my arrival at the apartment, he gave me fresh flowers and some candies and proceeded to give me the tour. |

| The accommodations were excellent | Dec 2009 |
The accommodations were excellent. The location could not have been better, especially if you like to cook which I suggest if you are there for a longer period of time. There was everything you could want, including a clothes washer and an iron. The restaurant directly across the street was one of the best restaurants I enjoyed in Florence. Others such as Osterio id Benci, and Latini's were terrible. Try Fagoli across the street from De Benci and Vivoli's is a must.

| A gem of a location...and just the right space for two! | Oct 2009 |
Giuliano's greeting and the location of the Bardi were just perfect! We also appreciated the space and cozy balcony. I do, however, have a few suggestions to make the stay truly "Italy Perfect!" 1. Upgrade your bath towels! 2. Upgrade your sheets and bedding! 3. Provide a few groceries for people upon arrival so they don't have to run out immediately for coffee, etc. We will certainly consider renting through you again. We know we will return to Italy! Many thanks. We are glad the Conley's enjoyed the great location, terrace and the warm welcome. We appreciate their good suggestion to upgrade the sheets, towels & bedding & have taken immediate action to do so. Future guests will find a higher quality of linens. The confirmation materials include the contact information for a a concierge service that can shop for groceries and deliver them to guests after they check in. Lisa, Italy Perfect |

| Terrace and electric awning made us feel like we had our own little cafe | Jul 2009 |
We enjoyed the apartment very much. Having the terrace and electric awning made us feel like we had our own little cafe to adjourn to at the end of each day and we ate all of our meals there. Guiliano, the owner and greeter, was extremely nice and helpful. We liked the location, which was busy but not too hectic and right across from the river. It was great being able to look out every morning at the 16th century tower north of the terrace. Restoration work was being done on the tower south of us, however; it was a bit noisy but not bothersome. Being in the Oltrarno was great; once we got away from the tourist hub near the foot of the Ponte Vecchio (which was kind of fun, anyway) there were lots of small streets with craft shops of all kinds. My wife really liked "The Beaded Lily," which sold hand-made glass beads and designed jewelry on the spot. Our most enjoyable night out was an evening at Teatro del Sale, a "social club" owned by Fabio Picchi. The food was great and after dinner everyone sat back to listen to a jazz trio play. It was definitely worth becoming a member for a day! We thought your service was excellent and plan to use the agency again on our next trip to Italy. We had a wonderful time! |

| Bardi Apt | Jul 2009 |
The apartment was great. It is literally a few steps across the Ponte Vecchio from "downtown" Florence. The neighborhood was lively, and the Pitti Palace was a few minutes walk away. Many great restaurants, like Quatro Leoni nearby. The apartment itself was roomy and well furnished; the bedroom was large, the living room and kitchen adequate. The patio was large and sunny. It was quiet at night and until 9:00, important for us on vacation. We would definitely stay there if we return to Firenze. |

| A Jewel in Florence | Jun 2009 |
There were three of us at the Bardi apartment, my sister and brother-in-law and I. Our first impression of the place was very pleasant, and from there, we kept discovering its charms: the location in the heart of the Oltrarno district, near the Ponte Vecchio, shops and attractions; the lovely apartment itself, with flowers, pretty fabrics, nice art prints and photographs on the walls, small things to look at everywhere, reflecting the beauty of the city. |

| Wonderful location! | May 2009 |
We thoroughly enjoyed the Bardi apartment during our stay. The balcony was awesome! This apt. is in such a great, safe location within walking distance to everything and only 10 minutes walk to the train. Take a cab from the train though if you have luggage, it's reasonable. Guilliano, the greeter, gave us the name of his favorite local restaurant called Osteria Del Cinghiale Bianco which we enjoyed for two dinners! We bought from the little market about 2 doors from the apt. every day. We also really enjoyed the wine tour we purchased at the tourist info window at the train station...Fattoria Castello Il Palagio has a most charming old castle tour and four wines to taste with food afterward. We also took a day trip to Venice on the train (1 1/2 hrs.) and a tour to Pisa on a bus. The views from the Ponte Vecchio (literally out the apt. door) are so beautiful and a charming singer plays his guitar every night. Watch out for the beggars and the rose sellers! We would stay at the Bardi Apt. again when we return to Florence some day. Pat Byrne was so helpful with instructions on how to ask in Italian for certain things. She was wonderful to deal with and I would go through her again for renting! |

We recently spent 5 nights at Bardi and loved it. Staying at the apartment was a treat. Loved sitting on the terrace in the mornings and evenings. Would like to stay here again on a future visit to Florence. Highly recommended! | Location!! Location!! Location!! | Sep 2008 |
We could not have asked for a better location while visiting Florence... And the check-in arrangements were excellent... As with most European Apartments.. We Americans are somewhat spoiled by our Bathrooms & Bedrooms.. So as long as you are prepared for small accommodations in the bathroom..[The bathroom was totally redone in February 2009, turning the alcove into a shower to provide a bit more space. pb] there are only nice surprises with this apartment. A very nice balcony allowed for restful time in the evenings and the rest of the apartment was very nice. BUT.. The real value in this apartment is the location.. and for all the time you are going to be outside visiting Florence.. you could not ask for a better place... Take advantage of all the small out-of-the-way neighborhoods.. that's where the charm of Florence really is... We certainly enjoyed our time in the city.. and would recommend this apartment for anyone looking to get out to explore Florence... Mike & Linda McFarling |

| We had a lovely time in the apartment on the Via Berdi. | Apr 2008 |
We had a lovely time in the apartment on the Via Berdi. It was everything you promised: comfortable, centrally-located, and not a stick of Ikea furniture in sight! The double glazing insulates marvelously from the street noise. The person upstairs started moving furnithre about, in addition to playing the television extraordinarily loudly. [An insulating, dropped ceiling installed 2009 eliminates the noise from upstairs.] There will be a next time, we really did love the apartment, and would recommend it to anyone! |

The Bardi apartment was perfect for us. We loved the location and convenience of everything. The living room is cozy and comfortable. Bed just fine.
