| Ultra Romantic Florence Apartment with Terrace |
The Anna Florence rental apartment delights the visitor with comfortable, elegant furnishings and amenities. A rare find in Florence is the delightful terrace off the living room. The terrace overlooks the tile rooftops and cupola of the Santo Spirito church. Planted window boxes hang from the wrought iron railing, adding a touch of greenery.
You will be hard-pressed to find a more romantic Florence apartment. The Anna Florence vacation apartment is located on Via di Santo Spirito just a few blocks from the Ponte Vecchio on the gentrified Oltrarno side of the river. It’s a romantic, beautifully decorated apartment that will make for a special stay in Florence. Via di Santo Spirito is a charming street lined with elegant antique shops, artisan workshops and boutiques in an ideal location for exploring Florence. The Uffizi Gallery & Duomo are just across the river, the Pitti Palace is five minutes away. Or take a leisurely stroll through the nearby Boboli Gardens, which were once the private, palatial gardens of the Medici family during the Renaissance.
Two blocks from the apartment Piazza Santo Spirito welcomes you with cafes and restaurants along the piazza. Several fresh produce stands are open in the piazza in the morning where you can buy provisions for lunch or dinner. Enjoy rummaging through the houseware vendors' stalls and spot the local signore shopping for kitchen utensils, dishtowels, bedroom slippers, tablecloths and an interesting assortment of household bric-a-brac. You’ll start to feel like a local! Mid-day the stalls close up and the noon time crowd emerges to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants in the piazza and and along the streets of the neighborhood. Presiding over the piazza is the Santo Spirito church, designed by Brunelleschi and completed in the late 1400’s. Next door to the church is the Cenacolo di Santo Spirito, a small museum that was once the refectory of the Santo Spirito church. The quiet side streets that crisscross the neighborhood are a welcome refuge from the busy streets just across the river and are lined with fine old Medieval buildings and small artisan workshops that craft beautiful Florentine furniture. A personal favorite is the bespoke men’s shoe shop located diagonally across from the church where you can see custom shoe forms lining the wall. Peer through the window to observe a craftsmen hand sew shoes for his elite clientele, usually with an apprentice or two peering over his shoulder. Clients of this store come back year after year for elegant custom shoes. Only a few minutes walk away is the church of Santa Maria del Carmine, famous for the Brancacci Chapel where you can see Renaissance masterpiece, The Life of St. Peter frescoes. If you are up for a bit of exercise, head out for an invigorating walk up to the Forte di Belvedere or Piazzale Michelangelo to take in gorgeous views of the city of Florence. In addition to the historic sites, the neighborhood has a wealth of good restaurants, food shops and a favorite bakery just down the street.
The Anna apartment is in a 15th century apartment building located on a street lined with many artisan workshops.
The butter-yellow fresco style walls of the apartment give a soft hue and provide a warm backdrop for the elegant style of the apartment, complemented by high ceilings with exposed beams. Great care has been taken in the thoughtful remodeling to make excellent use of the space, capped by decor that is tasteful, comfortable and elegant.
The living room sofa is flanked by a comfortable wing-backed chair and an ottoman. Good reading lights, custom cabinetry and charming decorative touches add to the comfort and appeal. The antique dining table has seating for four, in the event you want to invite friends over for a meal. Step up to the small but efficient kitchen, which is up a half-level and overlooks the living room. It is fully furnished with pots, pans, dishes and is decorated with hand-painted Italian ceramic tiles and a marble countertop.
At the opposite end of the living room is the sleeping alcove, partially hidden behind soft, sheer linen drapes that hang from behind the arch that leads to the alcove. While this is a studio apartment, the layout still provides some measure of privacy and space given the separation between the living areas.
The tiled bathroom has been fully updated and has a large step-in shower with glass doors, sink and toilet.
A special characteristic of this apartment is the feeling of light and space due to the high ceilings which contribute to the overall volume of the apartment. Add to that the easily accessible outdoor space on the terrace, the draped sleeping alcove and the step-up kitchen, and this doesn’t feel like an ordinary studio apartment. What a romantic getaway for a very special vacation in Florence. The apartment building does not have an elevator and is located on the 5th floor (4th floor European) so guests have an opportunity to work off pasta and gelato indulgences. Guests are advised to plan their luggage accordingly since it is a hike to get heavy suitcases up the steps, and, because it is a studio apartment, there is very limited storage space for large luggage. Once at the top though, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with splendid views, a quiet and beautiful apartment for a memorable Florence stay.

• No elevator so there are lots of steps, but apartment is wonderful
• Lack of air conditioning in July and August is a drawback
| We loved the area | Nov 2011 |
The apartment was very charming and very well decorated. We loved the area, close enough to walk to everything, but in a quiet residential street with small shops. The only drawback was the noise from the neighbors who argued everyday from about 5 pm until 11 pm. It appeared that their entrance was in the next building because there was no apartment on the same floor which had a door to that side of the building. I was surprised that such an old building would not have thicker walls. I did find this quite disturbing because there was no way to address this. I realize that this is city living as I have a city apartment in Chicago and occasionally hear my neighbors, but this was every day. |

| Amazing! | Oct 2011 |
The Anna apartment was nothing short of stunning. The quite location was a nice escape from the busy Florence streets and listening to the bells ring outside the balcony each evening was enchanting. Lots of great markets near by and although the kitchen was small it had everything needed to prepare wonderful meals. Amazing jazz CD collection and wonderful assortment of books. Felt like home. Francesca, our greeter, was so sweet and very helpful with any question we had. We can't wait to come back and return to the Anna. As well, any future trips to Italy will be booked through Italy Perfect without hesitation. I would highly recommend the Anna and Italy Perfect to my friends. |

| 66 steps to treasure | Jul 2011 |
We left a cold and snowy Canberra Australia for a hopefully relaxed few weeks in a European summer. A week in Florence was the longest planned break in the one location and included a wedding anniversary. We were not been disappointed: Warm weather, great location and a perfect retreat to be able to explore many aspects of Florence and a quick 37 minute trip to Bologna to visit the Ducati factory: A journey through Italian Art, Architecture and design, the renaissance to modern technology within 100kms. Each street in Florence invited further exploration. There was always something new to see and investigate and not only in the streets not yet travelled but also the ones we used each day. The apartment was perfect , so tastefully designed and set up. We had all we required except a masseuse at the end of the day to attend to feet. The 66 steps were great training for climbing the various heights of Florence and working off the gelato intake calories. Thank you Francesca for a warm and informative introduction to Anna’s apartment and thanks to Lisa and Italy Perfect for a well detailed and well organised stay in Florence. We can happily recommend both the apartment and Italy perfect. |

| Anna was just what we were looking for! | May 2011 |
This adorable apartment was wonderful! It was just what I wanted- authentic Italian apartment. It was comfortable and all we needed while visiting Florence. It had everything we needed in a neat little package! I loved the location- somewhat away from the "touristy" area, but really was pretty close when we were walking. The view of Santo Spirito church steeple from the porch was amazing! I would definitely recommend this apartment; and this rental company, to my friends (I already have!). They were so helpful in making the arrangements, and the greeter, Francesca, was punctual and thoroughly explained all we needed to know about the apartment. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up on our departure morning, so we wouldn't have to struggle to do it! I hope to use this company again when traveling in Europe. You will love Florence if you love art, beautiful architecture, walking & exploring, and gelato!! |

| Home in Florence | May 2011 |
Anna's apartment deserves the highest praise that anyone might expect or even dream of having while in Florence. It was actually difficult to leave it. The photos don't capture the romance of its location and the exquisiteness of its design. I found myself waking up at different hours of the evening just to capture the changing light surrounding the church steeples. After a beautiful day of exploring Florence and its many museums, craftshops, antique galleries, etc my husband and I looked forward to Anna's quiet apartment. She provided every detail of a lovely home: books, music, photos, paintings, well-stocked kitchen, hand painted tiles, cozy living room with high ceilings, immaculate bathroom and a romantic bedroom. Whatever question one may have while traveling in Italy, Anna provided historical books as well as guide texts. It was such a lovely spot to spend a holiday or vacation and actually difficult to leave her library! She introduced me to Mary McCarthy's Stones of Italy. I am looking forward to returning. And, yes, I would recommend Italy Perfect to all my friends. |

| Totally impressed from start to finish | Apr 2011 |
My wife and I were totally impressed with our Italy Perfect experience from start to finish. Booking the apartment in Florence was efficient with prompt communication back and forth. The information package they sent was very useful and complete. The Anna apartment was excellent and the location was great: it was close enough to the attractions to be convenient but in a quiet neighbourhood. There was a great little Bar right across the street where we could get our morning cafe when we did not make our own in the apartment. There were also 2 good restaurants on our block that we enjoyed. Just around the corner was a market and there were other stores within a couple blocks where we could get food. The greeter was very helpful in showing us the apartment and even went with me in the car to show me a nearby parking garage. Our stay at Anna was a great introduction to Italy and I would definitely use Italy Perfect again. |

| A Memorable and Romantic Vacation Spot | Jan 2011 |
Six days in this lovely apartment were magical in beautiful Firenze. The Anna apartment is beautifully decorated and designed, and well appointed for eating in, entertaining or just relaxing in the cozy living area or balcony. Views from the balcony added to the ambiance with night and day views of the duomo and campanile of S. Spirito and tile rooftops. The 66 steps from the building entrance were not so daunting once you knew what was at the top end of them! Location is about as good as it gets, unless you want to be in the middle of tourist traffic and noise. We loved wandering residential streets, shoppings in local markets and grabbing an espresso and pastry in one of the many nearby cafes. While somewhat off the beaten path, nothing is a long walk in Florence, and we felt more like locals than tourists in this area, where one might have to speak some Italian to get by more than on the other side of the Arno River. There are numerous ristorante and trattoria on Via S. Spirito or nearby streets, many not so tourist driven. Quattro Leoni and Camillo are two of our favorite local ristorante, both in Oltrarno region. We found no need to venture to the other side of the Arno for dinner and enjoyed exploring streets for lesser known places. If you are interested in artisan shops for mosaics, leather, fabric, lighting, paper goods, etc., they abound in Oltrarno, but nothing is inexpensive. It is a wonderful area to window shop! Traveling in late November/early December has its advantages as there are few tourists. We entered all museums, shops, cafes, etc. without waiting or dealing with crowds. Weather was in the 50s, but more cloudy than not; however, we felt quite lucky to have found a clear 6-day window in Firenze during the rainy season. We rented this apartment and a car, and purchased a cell phone, all through Italy Perfect. We felt completely prepared for our adventure and were well versed on what the apartment offered and all other areas of Flirenze thanks to our friendly and efficient greeter. I recommend Italy Perfect highly, as they made this part of our European adventure a seamless and relaxing experience. We look forward to booking again, hopefully the Anna apartment for longer! |

| Perfect Spot! | Dec 2010 |
The Anna apartment was amazing and suited our needs perfectly. We loved the location as it was close to everything but with a nice residential/neighborhood feel that we really enjoyed. The space itself was lovely and comfortable, with a beautiful view of Santo Spirito. There is a great selection of books of all kinds, guidebooks included, written in English. You would be fine if you left all books at home. We shopped at the markets and had breakfast at home each day — perfect way to start our exploring and site-seeing. We did not have any issues with the apartment, though you should expect typical residential noises as you are in a unit amongst many. The neighborhood was wonderful — so many good restaurants, interesting shops, and small streets to explore. We particularly liked the restaurant Casalinga (and Quattro Leoni is a treat). Francesca, our greeter, was friendly and thorough, and gave us many good suggestions. We loved "Anna" and would go back. |

| Our Week in Florence | Oct 2010 |
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Florence and the apartment was very nice. The weather was perfect and the people were delightful. Our greeter, Francesca, was so helpful in every respect. She even made taxi arrangements for us to get the airport early Saturday AM. Such a pleasant young lady. The location couldn't have been better. We were about 3 blocks from the Arno and walked everywhere. A great little restaurant directly across the street from our apartment. Each night when we returned to the apartment, and recovered from the long hike up the stairs, we would open a bottle of wine, play a jazz cd on the beautiful sound system, and recall our adventures of the day. What great fun! Thanks for all that you did for us. |

| She said YES!!! | Oct 2010 |
When we found the Anna apartment on Italy Perfect... We immediately started planning our trip to Italy! Anna lived up to all of our expectations... and then some! Great location, great view... we wished we could have stayed longer! Our greeter, Francesca was charming and very helpful. Embrace the stairs... it helps with the gelato consumption... LOL!!! Definitely use the binder in the apartment, it is filled with great recommendations from previous guests! The most amazing thing happened while enjoying the view from our balcony on our last night... He said "Marry Me" and she said "Yes!" |

| A Truly Italian Experience | Jun 2010 |
We found that the appartment was just as it was presented on your website, truly beautiful and very Italian. We didn't want to stay in a generic appartment that could be found in any city or country in the world, we wanted to have an Italian experience and we feel that your apartment helped us achieve this. The location was terrific, very central, just a five minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio. It was the little things that made all the difference, the information pack received before hand, the friendly greeter who explained everything about the appartment (including how to use the washing machine)the books and music collection available for use. Perhaps best of all was the restaurant recommendations. We actually visited quite a few and found them to be just as described. The only slight draw back would be the stairs to the appartment, but I guess it explains why Italians can eat all that wonderful food and still be slim, exercise! We would highly recommend this appartment to anyone who wanted to pretend to be Italian, even if only for a week! |

| Romantic refuge tempts travelers to spend the day lazing in the apartment | May 2010 |
Awoke to the melodious sound of church bells ringing in the distance. An apt introduction to the quiet spirituality of the ancient city of Firenze. Overlooking red-tiled roofs and the dome and bell tower of the understated Church of Santo Spirito, the tastefully appointed 'Anna' Apartment does not disappoint. Filled with resplendent tomes of the art and architecture of this magnificent Florentine city, the romantic refuge tempts travelers to spend the day lazing in the apartment purveying the many titles to attain a sense of the history and beauty of Renaissance Florence. The apartment is superbly located on the south bank of the Arno River in the Oltrarno 'beyond the Arno,' a peaceful area of the city of Florence replete with resounding church bells, peaceful cafes, Florentine artisans, and daily markets.

| Wonderful apartment right near everything in Florence | May 2010 |
Wonderful apartment right near everything in Florence. There are so many special touches in the apartment, it's hard to know where to start. The apartment is very inviting with the arrangement, decor, and light - also very clean. Even though we have been married for 22 years, it felt like a honeymoon suite. There are several flights of stairs and we always appreciated the exercise getting to our comfortable nest away from the hustle and bustle of Florence after a day of exploring. There are loads of books on Florence, Italy, and assorted other subjects, if you like to relax with a book. It is furnished with everything one could need while away on vacation. The bed is extremely comfortable and the apartment is quiet at night. The bath was great. We had plenty of hot water and water pressure. We visited in the spring and loved sleeping with the windows open. The washer worked well and we hung out our laundry just like the locals. This apartment is obviously used by the owner and is lovingly cared for. We felt very privileged to rent it for a week. |

| The Florence apartment was lovely. | Apr 2010 |
Just a brief note to thank you for your assistance with our Italy Trip. We had a wonderful time. The two apartments [Rome Carina and Florence Anna] we rented were a big part of that. They were as advertised and wonderful. Thank you.
The Florence apartment was lovely. Francesca, who met us there, was really helpful and nice. She suggested restaurants, discussed (at our inquiry) some of the social issues confronting Florence, and added considerably to our pleasure there. Also, the guest book and notes by the owner in that apartment made a difference.
So..thank you. We have recommended you to several friends and look forward to renting from you again.

| We really enjoyed our week at Anna. | Nov 2009 |
We really enjoyed our week at Anna. The apt was so well equipped and lovely books to peruse. The 66 steps twice a day kept us healthy and the terrace was an added plus. We thank the owner and Italy Perfect for all their arrangements, they worked very well. And Florence is so very beautiful. We ate very locally and usually for a good long lunch, really enjoyed this side of the river and yet were in walking distance anywhere we wanted to go. Love to go back again to Anna. |

| Always fabulous to return to ANNA! | Nov 2009 |
This was our second stay in Anna. We absolutely love staying there and look forward to returning every year. We are fortunate enough to be able to spend time in Firenze each October and Anna is a large part of that joy. The collection of music and books is an adventure in itself. I have spent many afternoons in the apartment traveling to distant places engrossed in the music and stories that live there. The location of Anna is absolutely perfect, the decor is comfortable and inviting, and the peace and quiet found there is a rare gem in Firenze. Having a washing machine makes it so easy to pack and makes me feel like a local when I hang my things out to dry on the line. The bells are so much fun to hear and the bed is very comfortable. Our favorite tratoria by far in Firenze is PANDAMONIO. We have been going there for 10 years. The address is on Via Dei Leone. You will completely enjoy staying in Anna while in Firenze. It is a fantastic spot to return to after a day in the city. |

| Quiet retreat, great location, fabulous accomodations! | Oct 2009 |
We had TWO greeters when we arrived in town, one via the phone (he was GREAT) and one at the apartment itself. She was a sweetheart. Upon arrival, (and after climbing six staircases), she explained where EVERYTHING in the apartment was. The location is absolutely FABULOUS. It is in a QUIET area, but close enough to all the tourist attractions. The VIEW is GREAT. It is a quiet, tucked-away view that shows a Duomo glowing at night. The apartment has ALMOST everything you could ever want. One suggestion would be to have at LEAST some bottled water in the fridge for guests who have just arrived in town and haven't yet been to the market. We only had one complaint with the apartment: due to the heat (yes, in October it was still warm out) we WANTED to be able to leave the door to the porch OPEN at night ... but due to the CRAZY MOSQUITOES, we were UNABLE. The one little fan really did NOT do it for us. So, we were hot in the evenings/at night. An additional fan or two, or A/C would REALLY REALLY help. Except for that ONE glitch, we LOVED the apartment and would DEFINITELY stay there again, except only in COLD weather next time. Enjoyed our stay and HIGHLY recommend it. |

| Absolutely perfect, really. | Oct 2009 |
It's all in the details and full of style. Cozy, private, with that European chic lived-in flavor. The location provides church bells ringing, but not screaming scooter traffic noise. I would and will recommend this flat to anyone visiting Firenze. The only detail I would have enjoyed was a bathtub. And..the mosquitoes were a nuisance if we wanted the door to remain open at night for fresh air. Grazie! |

| Out of Many Many Apartments, ANNA Shines Above the Rest! | Nov 2008 |
We had a fabulous time staying in Anna. We have rented many apartments in Florence through the years and this is by far our most favorite! It is quiet, beautifully decorated, perfectly located, has a comfy bed, a fabulous window to look out from, church bells nearby, a workable kitchen, a great book, map, info collection and is a wonderful place to return to after a day of working in the leather tanneries or sight seeing. The shower has a nice strong spickett and hot water (sometimes unusual in Italy).Having a washing machine is a real treat and the laundry line really give you the feeling of being in Europe.Anna is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood and is near all of our favorite places. The view out the window is spectacular and there is great hanging space and places for clothes to be put away (this is also unusual in Italy). The hot water in the bathroom sink did not work when we were there. We were hoping that it would be fixed when we were there but it was not. I am sure that it has been fixed by now. That is the ONLY problem that we had and we managed just fine. The fact that there is no elevator might be a problem for some but we loved having that exercise after big meals. I even used it for exercise in the mornings going up and down many many times. The CD collection is a great plus. My late afternoons were often spent listening to beautiful Italian opera, reading my book on the comfortable couch with the window opened, and having a cup of tea. This is paradise to me.We love to cook at home when we are in Florence and did that quite a few times on this trip. We would go to the market in the mornings and come home and make dinners or lunches in the apartment. The kitchen is small but very workabke. The apartment is not large but has the most well thought out floor plan and has everything that you might need. The way it is layed out makes you feel like it is much larger. We could easilly spend a month or two in Anna and love every minute of it.We completely enjoyed ourselves in Anna and will most definately stay there again as we travel to Florene twice a year.Lisa from ItalyPerfect was great and incredibly helpful. She talked over different choices with me and helped me to choose. We were met at the apartment right on time and everything was explained to us. Lisa was very helpul to us when I forgot all of my info that she had provided us with before our departure. She was quick to make sure that we received what we needed.Thank you for everything! |

| Anna | Nov 2008 |
Staying in the Anna apartment was the highlight of our month long European trip. The apartment is exquisite! The furnishings, the colors, the light, the view out the balcony. Even the climb up the stairs wasn't nearly as bad as we feared. The location was perfect: close to everything but not in the midst of the crowds of tourists. I think it was the most satisfying accommodation I've ever experienced traveling. The one thing that I think would improve the apartment is an internet connection. I would definitely stay there again, and I would definitely book through Italy Perfect again. Your service and information was magnificent. Altogether a great experience! Thank you! |

| Anna was wonderful - more than met our expectations | Jun 2008 |
The view over the rooftops is breathtaking. The apartment is very tastefully designed and the space was so well organized if felt much large than anticipated from the photographs on the web site. The location could not have been better - close to all the Florentine sights and close to the heart of Santo Spirito - the crafts people in their workshops and everyday shopping - everything was so accessible. It was an oasis to come back to after being out all day. It is hard to believe that the apartment was a couple of minutes from the Pitti Palace and not a sound could be heard. The linens for the bed and towels were excellent - lots of hot water, the books and the music etc. We went to Rome and Cinque Terra - both of which are easily accessible by train (the train station in Florence was within walking distance). The trains in Italy are excellent and seem to be on time! Having stayed at apartments in USA and Europe .. this apartment is first class (ambience, comfort, privacy, cleaniness, nice bathroom with lots of hot water, comfortable bed and a view to die for). What more can you wish for ... A wonderful experience ... from the first connection with our greeter to our last moments - Francesca (the onsite greeter) even organized a taxi to airport - she was wonderful. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone and would love to spend more time there in the future. |

| Someone put lots of thought & love into this place. | May 2008 |
The apartment was lovely - perfect for us just as you had indicated. We have just come from renting a flat for a week in Paris and we thought we were very lucky until we arrived here. Someone has really put a lot of thought and love into this place. |

| Had everything we could possibly need | Oct 2007 |
The apartment was perfect. So beautifully furnished and had everything we could possibly need from rubberbands to light bulbs. We were amazed how such a small space could be so well organized and comfortable. Our main concerns when traveling in Europe are always the bed (comfort) and the bathrooms. Both were perfect. The balcony had a wonderful view especially in the evening. It was centrally located to everything and we found wonderful restaurants very nearby and some of our favorites were on our street. The only drawback was the many stairs as Gail broke her foot the day before we left for our trip. Even without a broken foot these were a challenge. We had a great stay and look forward to returning to Firenze! Thanks for your help. |

Our Anna arrangements went off without a hitch, thank you. Our greeter, Elisa, was adorable -- very helpful and cheerful. The apartment was hot, but it was charming and we loved the location! Thank god for the fan! You all were very organized and we look forward to booking through you in the future. |

| Feeling of "home" each time we walked through the door | Jul 2007 |
I'm afraid that our trip to Firenze was not just great, it was absolutely charmed. It wasn't that we had a stunning view apartment overlooking a minor Brunelleschi dome and campanile complete with falcons and swifts and kestrels which I watched each evening as the crepuscular lightshow shifted languorously over the piazza in a stunningly perfect, quiet location in the ancient neighborhood of Santo Spirito, it wasn't just that we saw a zillion works of transcendent art, bathed in an omnipresent marvelous architectural ambience, landscapes and vistas, villas and gardens, plus many out of the way special places devoid of tourists and crowds, ate delicious local fish and vegetables and breads washed down with superb inexpensive Chiantis in our apartment, or that the full moon came up over said dome the first three nights we were there. No, it was that these stunning experiences would probably not have been possible without the charming repose AND the countless practical advantages inherent in the Anna apartment in the quiet, neighborhood oasis of Santo Spirito. The lovely, ever-changing vista from the balcony, the ancient ambience of the architecture inside and out, the tastefully chosen furniture and interior design of the space itself, the stimulating variety of books and CDs on the shelves plus the perfect re-modeling effort which was obviously done with both cultivation and aesthetic intelligence ––– all of these splendid elements conspired to produce an immediate and most welcoming feeling of "Home" each time we walked through the door. Many thanks again for your professionalism and kindness in making our stay so special. |

| We felt like we could have stayed forever | Apr 2007 |
The apartment was wonderful, and we felt like we could have stayed forever. It was very comfortable. Having the books and CDs available was an added benefit that we hadn't expected. The books were a great reference to the area, to the Italian language, cookbooks. It seemed like we had everything we needed. The location was also great for us. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we would love to stay there again in the future. |
